Out of all the sushi places i've been to in Healdsburg this is definitely the best one.
Best food ever! We travel 2,000 miles from Houston just for this place. Frank & staff are absolutely amazing. Prices are very reasonable, food is fantastic ever time!!!
Good dinner. Nice little place off from the plaza. Worth a stop.
The food was great. I really want an excuse to go again. I had the Unagi Bowl and every bite was so flavorful.
I love Sake ‘O! I have been eating here for years and it’s always fresh and delicious! Definitely recommend for anyone wanting sushi in town
Wow!! Superb sushi. Portions generous. Sat outside on patio. Love ❤️ this spot.
If you really love good sushi and you are in Northern California , you have to stop by Sake 'O. I recommend the Shrimp Martini and the Marylin Monore. WOW are they good.
Might be the best sushi I’ve ever had...in fact, probably is. Try the Utah roll, or the crunchy tuna roll. Fresh and excellent.
Amazing sushi and affordable. The staff are nice and more than helpful when you ask.
My favorite place to eat. Best Sushi ever always consistent and great customer service.
Great food. Great service. They put a table together for us in minutes. More upscale dining.
Martini prawns , off the hook! Also samurai sushi and Dragon roll were made amazing. Thank you for the great lunch.
Had the sashimi chef special. Very fresh Always great service
This place is always the same , Wonderful!, Best Sushi ever! I would recommend it .
Responsive service and great fresh sushi, have been consistently coming here and will continue to do so.
The ambiance is quite nice. We ate inside, but, the patio looked very inviting.
It wasn't busy the night we went there. The sushi were great but I was hungry and I thought the portions could be bigger as I had a large appetite. But, the rolls are enough if you had a normal appetite. It's a good place to go.
For today, I enjoyed the smoked salmon nigiri and Dynamite Roll. The roll was absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend adding jalapeños to it. The Nori had a pleasant smoked flavor and a good serving size.
Wow Cherry’s sashimi is lovely and the cuts on the sushi are most generous. We always have a great time when dining here with our family. Frank is attentive and the food perfect!! I highly recommend this restaurant for the broad selection and high quality of dishes!
My FAVORITE Sushi of all time!!! I moved 3 hours away and still return for Birthdays or anytime I can visit for my favorite sushi & the best ever and Original Martini Prawns! Try them! I promise you won't be disappointed by this friendly family owned local business! Both indoor & outdoor seating!
Excellent place! The food was extremely good and staff very nice. Definitely recommend visiting. Fair pricing too
This is our "go-to" place for sushi since the pandemic started. We used to get sushi to go from Jo-Jo's sushi in Santa Rosa, but they changed chefs and are okay, but not what we like. Sake 'O has been consistently good. We order the gamut from combo dinners to nigiri sushi to California rolls. The last order had an amazing avocado roll with more avocado than rice. The nigiri sake (salmon) is my favorite. One of the things I like about Sake 'O is that the pieces are substantial. The tempura pieces are a good size, the nigiri pieces are decently sized. No one leaves the table hungry. The price seems good for the quality of the sushi. Last to go order fed 5 people and was close to $100.00. Good Luck
been coming to Sake'O for ma1ny years on special occasions and have never been disappointed
This restaurant is modest, but their food is excellent. The sushi bar is wonderful with all kinds of fresh fish and great sushi combinations. When I want to grab a quick lunch, this is a good place or even just take out an excellent carburetor roll. Prices are very reasonable and service is great.
Best sushi in town! Excellent service. Great prices!!
Food was delicious and our server was very attentive! Definitely come here!
One of the absolute BEST sushi spots of Sonoma County. 😍

The ingredients are fresh, the service is great, and I really love the dining environment too 😍 I often bring friends here, and they're all 100% satisfied.
I’ve had a lot of Japanese food in Sonoma and across the Bay Area, but places that deliver this level of consistent quality are few and far between. This restaurant is the kind of spot where you think you know your sushi and your izakaya—then they quietly serve something that reminds you what “mastery of the basics” really looks like. The ingredients are so fresh they might as well have swum over to say hi. The knife work is clean and precise, the seasoning calibrated like it was measured with a ruler. Every dish arrives looking good, smelling even better, and tasting exactly as it should—leaving you with zero room to nitpick. What’s even more impressive is the owner’s decade-plus commitment to doing things the right way. In an era where everyone’s chasing the next gimmick or “innovation,” he’s chosen instead to refine one thing until it’s perfect. That kind of craftsmanship sounds romantic, but in practice it’s harder than unagi on a busy night. Put simply: this isn’t the type of place that relies on hype to get you in the door. It’s the type you finish eating at, then quietly add to your personal “lifelong list of Japanese restaurants you’ll keep coming back to.” If you’re in the Bay Area and craving a Japanese meal that won’t let you down, this is it—no fanfare, just understated excellence.
Lovely Japanese restaurant. My Dad and I enjoyed great sushi, soups and dessert. Nice prices and mellow atmosphere inside. Peaceful outdoor seating area as well. Free easy parking out front.
Outstanding sushi, fresh, and huge nagiri portions. Absolutely first rate. We had the volcano roll, tropical roll, chrunchy tuna roll, and salmon nagiri and it was all succulent. The only downside was they were out of the octopus the night we went.
Amazing food! I love Japanese food and have tried about all the places around here. This is one of my favorite restaurants! I wanted to post more photos on here, but when the food comes, I forget to take photos and just wolf it all down! 🤣
It was a dark and stormy night, so there weren't very many customers which worked out nicely. A small, simple space, courteous staff and absolutely delicious food at reasonable prices. Hamachi jalapeno carpaccio, gyoza, sashimi and my favorite, the crunchy spicy tuna roll which had a very light coating of tempura batter and just enough spice to make it interesting while still tasting the subtle flavors. Just a light dinner, but perfect.
9pm Friday night Sushi craving in Healdsburg, satisfied completely. The Marilyn Monroe with shrimp atempura, king Crab and Scallops is Bomb, the grasshopper roll for the wife was amazing also, as was the California roll. No complaints, even next day left overs were still amazing. Didn't try any of the special flavors like uni and such, but if that's your thing can't see why they would be any less delicious.
Sake selection is authentic and legit. Una-ju is my favorite food and Sake'O served me one of the best I have enjoyed across many continents, cities, and venues.

The ingredients are simple but put together and presented perfectly. I’m from San Diego and sushi is one of my favorite meals. I’ve paid far above this cost for worse quality at other places. Value here is excellent. The tempura inside The Utah roll was incredible, crunchy, and delicious. We also had the volcano and the Janet and they were spicy, light, and delightful. Excellent price for value. Would absolutely recommend.
I have been coming to this restaurant for over 19 years now and every single time, I am filled with so much gratitude and love for the beautiful experience dining at Sake'O provides. From the careful selection of fresh and delicious culinary offerings and creative menu, to the serene and peaceful energy of the space.......Frank and Cheri never disappoint!
I love to go in at 4:30 pm when it's quiet and have a snack. I order dinner to go and enjoy my alone time with my hot, crispy tempura. Servers are getting ready for dinner service, and the world feels right.
We ate out on a cute little patio that was quiet and peaceful. My friend had Sushi and I had a vegetarian dish, both were delicious! Very attentive waiter.
The sushi is always fresh and delicious at SakeO. We got the martini prawns, the pot stickers, edamame, and three rolls. Everything was fabulous. You will not be disappointed if you dine here. So tasty!
Hidden treasure often not too crowded when special events have downtown Healdsburg crammed with tourists. Locals know what I mean!

Over the years we have gone then more times then I can count. Gone through the menu and never been disappointed. Have recommend to friends. Haven't been in for a sit down since the lock down.
This is a nice neighborhood Japanese restaurant. It's nothing fancy, but the service is great and they have a nice patio. Unfortunately we were unable to dine outside as another party had selfishly brought along their pit-bull mix "service" dog, complete with mail order vest, which clearly was untrained. I don't fault the restaurant, but I do wish people would leave their pets at home. A seeing eye dog is one thing, but bringing along your mutt as a power-play is just tedious.
Sakio has steadily gotten better over the years. They are great little local spot to get super yummy sushi. Sometimes Frank the owner is a one-man show, but somehow he always gets it done with good service and great food.
This little gem is tucked away in a corner of Healdsburg. The food is always good and they provide excellent service. The venue is older but quaint with a small outside patio.

I had a hard time finding the place as their sign outside is not very visible from the major street. Then they don't have udon so I settled for ramen. Broth was good but nothing too glorious about it. Service was quick (as it should be as the place was almost empty when I was there.)
The food was outstanding but the restaurant quality could use a tune up a bit
Wonderful food, portions very small but tasty that is why I gave 3 stars also price does not match there internet menu price in shop more expensive . My wife and I had the tempura vegetables " wonderful" , the Marilyn Monroe roll " fantastic" and e lemon chicken dinner " stupendous " flavors .
We had dinner here on a Sunday night. The food was fine, but the service was painfully slow. We finally got out after 1.5 hours - we packed the last dish that came to go, and ordered Uber Eats to the hotel to finish eating. We got there at 5:15pm and our kids got hangry and tired while we were waiting, so just plan accordingly if you're going.

Nothing fresh and delicious about this restaurant. Ordered a dinner bento box. The Lemon Chicken was all breading with a hint of tough chicken inside. The teriyaki beef was tough, greasy and zero flavor. Even the salad was poor. For $25.00, I expected a little more. I will not be returning.
