A1 Grill, Teriyaki & Roll

Went for the first time two weeks ago 11/14/21 and my family and I been there 3 times since 11/28/21 it's delicious and the rolls are fresh

Waba Grill, and Flame Broiler got nothing on this place, and they have sushi. I mean your not gonna find authentic Japanese sushi here but in terms of local favorites, crunch rolls, Cali rolls, and even a Korean Bbq roll with Bulgogi. The beef and chicken bowls and plates are seriously on par if not better than the chain teriyaki spots with roughly the same prices but bigger portions. This gem usually has a line and can take a min due to your sushi being rolled fresh. Hit them up!

I ordered a beef and chicken bowl. Way better than expected and i will stop here again. Their sushi was amazing too

Amazing. Best Chinese we've had while traveling across the country. The teriyaki chicken and vegetable egg rolls are wonderful and so is the service. Fast and friendly.

They make some very delicious bowls. I recommend their rolls. They are way bigger than your average roll at any sushi place.

My favorite place for teriyaki beef bowl!! I get one at least once a week. Way better than waba grill or flame broiler. Not a big sushi fan but their crunch rolls are amazing also!! Only negative part is their drive thru can be a bit of a wait but worth it 👍

This place is excellent, my parents and I eat here a lot. I like to come during my lunch breaks as well. The prices are great for what you get. The rolls are delicious! Highly recommended.

I wish I would have taken pictures. Forget, Waba grill, forget flame broiler. This is the best teriyaki bowl I have ever had. They are not stingy with their portions. Not just a lot of cabbage but all kinds of vegetables. They use real teriyaki sauce! The fact that they have a drive thru and sushi is the nail in the coffin for me. I dined in for the first time today and was very impressed. The customer service was great. Which is very important to me. It was very, very, clean. Best fast food restaurant I have ever been to. You must check it out for yourself. Next time I go I will take a picture.

Kung Pau was hot and delicious 😋. Roll was great. My husband had orange chicken and a roll. The orange chicken was for sure our least favorite.

Great food! The only complaint is how they charge for extra sauces after prices are high. They also do not allow more than one order through drive thru.

This is the spot my wife wants when she craves sushi, prices are reasonable and the service is fast at the drive thru! Everything we’ve had here is pretty good, solid spot for sure

Let me tell you something coming to this place made me never buy sushi anymore at any other place. It was so wonderfully good that I will be back again with my son for more food tasting of other options of food they prepare. Give this place a try and I promise you will not be let down.

If you enjoy teriyaki bowls, this is the place to go. There are many "chain" places but this one has those beat. They advertise sushi rolls. I have not personally tried them, but my children have and they keep ordering them. My one wish item, I wish they offered brown rice. If you can live with white rice, this place is as good or better then most. Stay classy!

fast and courteous service, I like that they give you fresh fruit as a side for your dish, and the food is very fresh and flavorful, I rated the atmosphere a 3 because I didn't went inside I order by phone and picked up at drive thru, but if their service was this fast and good I can only assume the inside is good service too.

These are the sweetest people! I usually go here because they have amazing miso soup, sushi rolls, and salmon. I decided to get the salmon bowl, but made it spicy, and when I received it, there was sriracha all over it. I did not know that they have two versions of spicy—the sriracha way and the chili oil way. I prefer the chili oil because I am not a fan of sriracha, but when I spoke with a young woman about possibly changing it to the chili oil salmon bowl, they were so sweet and accommodating and I cannot appreciate them enough. Great food, service and people!

Don't let the outside fool you at this place. The food is good. It's never really packed. I would definitely go here more than several times again. The staff were very courteous and helpful. And the food was really fresh and definitely deserved a Five star Rating.

We've lived in the high desert right down the street from this place for 4 years and we had never tried it. Tonight we decided to try it and holy cow!!! It exceeded all expectations, especially for a fast food sushi place. My husband ordered the california rolls, my mother ordered the shrimp bowl, and I ordered the veggie beef and chicken bowl and an order of gyowza for us all to share. Everything tasted amazing, way better than flame broiler and Wana grill. Not to mention they were super busy and seeing as they were busy my hopes weren't high but they were fast and everything was fresh and soooooooooo good. Also, for being super busy, the girls were super helpful and sweet. I think we found a new spot to eat and I can't wait to go back.

This beautiful little gem 💎 out in the high desert is absolutely delicious 😋 I got the grilled teriyaki chicken veggie rice bowl along with the beef & grilled teriyaki chicken and veggie rice bowl. The chicken was grilled nicely and it was so juicy, the beef tasted like I was eating a grilled steak 🥩 it was really delicious and tender with no fat. The veggies still had a nice crunch and not soggy which was an absolute plus since this order was being delivered 30mins out. I also purchased a few California rolls, Crunch rolls and I was not disappointed either! Everything on their menu is made fresh. Food arrived hot and rolls stayed fresh. Such an awesome find! Thank you to your awesome staff for serving such delicious food and providing such great customer service. Unfortunately no photos are available due to everyone completely devouring their bowls.🤣

Greta food. Fast and healthy. Sometimes when you order veggies with your bowls the broccoli (like three pieces only) is mostly stem, and hardly any crown. We just order the meat and rice now to avoid the giant broccoli stems 🥦

First time there overall it was basically ok! Would I go again not really. Why the California rolls were ok as was the miso soup, but the chicken chow mein, the ginger salad dressing and beef teriyaki were at best a 5 (out of 10). Please understand that me being Japanese I will be a bit more critical but there are other Asian restaurants that have been to while living in the hi-desert area, that were better. The working associates are very friendly and polite but that can only go so far.

Very surprised at how well the food taste. This place is serving homemade teriyaki chicken, beef, salmon, and shrimp bowls. my husband and I loved the teriyaki beef and the fried tempura sushi roll. We also tried shrimp-fried rice. It was pretty basic but had a nice flavor to it. Cars pulled up behind us, one by one, I knew then that this place was a keeper. If your looking for more than a burger and a piece of friend chicken, give them a try.

Their bowls are pretty good, though the beef can be chewy at times, other times downright sour. I'm not sure if it's the way the beef is prepared or seasoned, but it's strange. The sushi offered is okay, though a bit pricey. All in all, not the best teriyaki joint in the area, but leagues better than your local Waba grill.

Love the cali rolls here! The teriyaki isn't the greatest but not horrible, but it just didnt impress me much in flavor and quality. Staff of like 2 or 3 girls was busy gossiping and didnt really bother giving much of a professional demeanor, or customer service (forgot to give me items when I went through the drive through) and when I went in to retrieve what they left out, they seemed annoyed I was asking for my stuff. But over all fairly fast service, decent price and quality, and really good cali rolls!

Really Good Food . The cooks are awesome. The white rice 🍚 is spot on and that special sauce they have is mouth watering . Also have Sushi 🍱 Rolls and Shrimp Plates. I always get the Chicken Teriyaki . Double rice no Fruit with a California Roll. Enjoy 😉

It was all delicious and cant wait to go back and try more sushi and the terriyaki. My husband brought us take out so I can't comment on the service or atmosphere yet. Food ok. Good size portions. Quiet, but was there at opening. Beef and chicken were acceptable taste wise. Nothing special. But food was fresh and fast. Did the job. A little overpriced in my opinion.

We have returned because of the bowls are tasty. The al La cart secret menu shrimp tempura are really good according to my kid. The “red 40” sauce was strange according to my kid. We thought we try something else on the menu but have regrets. The chow mein not much to be desired there. It was chicken and chow mein and it lacked flavor. No rating on atmosphere since we have only been through drive thru.

I’d give it a 3 star reason why I’m stuck in between. Food is great but does having a “drive thru” help with time? Because with 2 cars ahead shouldn’t be in line for more than 25 minutes. Frustrating place to get food from. Also to add shrimp to a chicken bowl was additional $7.00 charge when the shrimp bowl is $7.99 might as well buy that and have more food

Food ok. Atmosphere was the worst. Went for lunch, playing loud rap music, x-rated language. REALLY?? At lunch? No wonder the place was deserted. I addressed this concern to the staff, reply was it was Pandora station, and she just tuned it out. They did change it, but still very loud. Another customer complained about the volume, which they did adjust, but then the vulgar rap was back!! There is a place and time for this type of music; this was not either of them.

So, this isn't the only teriyaki bowl place on Bear Valley... if you know, you know. The other place is much better, but they're expensive and you aren't getting nearly as much food as you do here. That's one of the good things about A1 Grill — you're getting a lot of food and it's in a cool bowl that you can re-use at home (huge plus tbh). What's my problem with A1 Grill? Simply put, their cuts of meat aren't the best. The chicken is generally fine but everything else... no. Especially the beef; it's fatty and dry meat. On top of that, their teriyaki sauce is gelatenous and unappetizing, even heating it up at home doesn't really fix it. So... in short? Get the chicken.

The sushi is actually pretty good for a drive-thru. I ordered their spicy chicken wings... They tasted like fish. I would suggest to use different oil than what you fry your fish in.

The food was ok. Not the most tasty place I've had. Flame broiler would have been a better choice from what I've had. Orange chicken was not good at all. Chicken in my bowl was extremely plain. Customer service was about a 2 stars out of 5. Will most likely not be back.

Got the A1 wings, the flavoring was of the sauce was very good, but the chicken was overcooked and dry. The restaurant is very clean, the only down fall is it is HOT & humid inside, the donrun a portable ac but it does not help at all only makes it more humid and uncomfortable to even dine in. I have to try other items off their menu.

This place has some really good food. I got the special combination plate and first time I got it it came with a soup, really good soup. Worth the 20 minute drive thru lol. This second time I went I wanted the same thing. This time it didn’t come with a soup. I asked them why it wasn’t included and if it could come with something else. They refused service but charged me the same amount. Didn’t appreciate that at least a heads up would be nice before I ordered/paid. Overall okay restaurant.

Let me start by saying that this place has horrible customer service. . I went in to order some food for my family and saw that the person attending me was chewing gum. I was very disgusted with that. I politely told another person there and she told the lady that I complained about. Very rudely she came up to the window and confronted me about it. She told me that it was none of my business whether she was chewing gum or not and then shut the window on me before I could say anything back. I then beeped my horn to grab her attention and ask for my money back. She then took her time to do that, saying that there were other people in front of me and I had to wait my turn. There was no one around me or in line at that time. I was so frustrated and very perturbed. I then began to enter the restaurant to speak to a manager, I was then told by another person that there was no manager and that there was no one in charge. This whole ordeal was just very irritating to me. How dare someone say it's none of my business if there serving MY FOOD while smacking there lips and chewing gum. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN.

October family member ordered dragon roll. Broke out in hives had to go to er. On Nov. 1 gave place benefit of doubt ordered beef roll and fire cracker shrimp roll. Broke out in hives. Week later still have them. No manager no help from staff on situation.

I ordered the Beef and Broccoli the "beef" was un edible it was saturated with chunks of fat! I tried to call and speak with someone but the phone number listed was a fax machine. Needless to say I will not go back. Disgusting!!!

Went today 4/12/20 on Easter and the older woman was ABSOLUTELY RUDE! Charged me $5 more for tofu vs a chicken bowl and DIDNT want to explain my charges! She is either price gouging during an emergency or simply could careless about customers supported them during these hard times. $25 for tofu!

I have eaten here a bunch of times and normally dont have an issue but today as i was eating my food i found what i thought at first to be a fortune cookie wraper. Instead it was a material tag showing 100% cotton made in pakistan.... how this got in my food is beyond me since it is a pretty big piece to miss. I ordered beef chicken bowl. I tried calling to no avail and will take pics to show them later today. Needless to say i stopped eating it. As i was typing this my gf found hair in her chow mein..... gross!

I ordered 3 chicken bowls last night when i got home i noticed all 3 bowls had no veggies and full of onions, i tried calling last night and their mail box was full i couldnt leave message or speak to anyone, i went back down to resturant and they refused to remake my order or give me my money back their mailbox was still full i showed them, i was told i had to make the complaint same day in order for them to do something well they didnt. So this is a late review but be careful when you order anything with chicken, I bought my toddler a chicken kids bowl and the chicken was spoiled and unsafe to eat. We also ordered sushi and that was fine but I will not be back, I would rather not take a risk at food poisoning.

First time here I definitely not coming back. Services for a fast food the usual standard, do not anything more. The sushi is bigger then necessary and the miso soup has more salt then a body should consume. After telling the staff about the soup, I got a reply of thats the way it is. Great response to a customer. As for the sushi uneatible on the beef roll, too chewy and falling apart on the first bite. I know its fast food but there's need to be some kind of quality to your food, especially if you're charging people for it.

Placed a order for 6 rolls $9-$12 each. Sign posted say free miso soup upon request. So I ordered each one with soup. When I get to the window after paying. Received my food then told, "sorry I forgot to tell you we have a limit. We can only give you 4 soups." I said ok but I ordered 6 meals. She said, "we have a limit. Have a nice day." And closed the window on me. I didn't get a chance to order extra. Did want to get back in line. So 2 of my dinner guest will not have their completed meals.

I waited 30 minutes for a California roll, a Huji Mountain roll, a war wonton soup and a chicken teriyaki bowl. Mind you I had called before coming to ask if they offered to take my order over the phone and for me to come pick up. They told me no because of how busy it was. So I drove the 15 minutes over to the restaurant and went inside because there were about 4 people in the drive thru and no one inside. I ordered, no problem. And waited, and waited and waited. Meanwhile 4 or 5 cars drive thru and get their orders quickly. Thirty minutes passed by and I see one of the cashiers taking an order outside for a pick-up! Then finally 2 minutes later the other cashier gives me my food and said because they only had one sushi chef that it took that long. I'm sorry, if it takes 30 minutes to wrap 2 rolls that sushi chef needs to be fired. It should not have taken that long. The cashier offered extra sauces or a drink to make up for my order taking forever to be filled. Not good enough. I think it will be a long while before I come back. And that is sad because I really like supporting smaller businesses.

Pros: food was quick What chicken you got was decent Cons: everything else. Small portions. Overpriced. Whatever they were trying to pass as salad tasted like paper. They gave me an apple that tasted like it had been left in a hot room for awhile. Will not return.

I've been going here for YEARS never had a problem, just got some chicken and beef bowls and as I'm eating my food noticed the beef was spoiled and tasted awful. I had the chicken side first so didn't realize until I moved on to the beef. Spent the last ten minutes vomiting. Food was old reheated. You can tell. Sucks, really liked this place.

Sushi had an awful after taste, I’m guessing the tuna and crab weren’t fresh which is crazy bcus they’re prices aren’t cheap! With the chicken bowl special they served old looking salad, as well as old looking apples they need to keep in mind apples need to be cut in the moment and not ahead of time! the chicken taste like it was burnt and not enough sauce! I was very disappointed with their food!! not worth the money tbh…

Honestly if you are going to charge so much for food, it would be nice to be able to enjoy it in your establishment. It is so hot inside and all lights are off. Fans are off nothing on. I feel terrible for the employees. People spend money here to enjoy a nice meal. So uncomfortable for the prices being charged.

Ordered 2 chicken & beef bowls, 2 rolls. Daughter said rolls were good. Chicken & beef bowls, beef was half fat, GARBAGE! That's where the bowls went GARBAGE! Won't recommend this place to anyone.

Imagine making up a lie about condiments being only a certain amount. And charging 50 cents afterwords with no sign about it. And then acting as if you're being attacked when nothing is happening to you. Good food, but the service needs a major upgrade. Especially that older lady in front. Acting like a kiss-up to the manager.

Severely disappointed. If you like sushi, please don’t go here. Low quality chicken, spicy tuna paste in the rolls instead of actual cuts of fish. I love sushi but I couldn’t even eat 3 bites of the rolls I ordered. To spend $61 on lunch for rolls and a bowl and not eat 90% of it for the low quality ingredients and bad flavor is such a waste. Atleast No fresh fish went to waste since they don’t use it 🤷🏼‍♀️

I ordered the special shrimp plate. Comes with misu soup, salad, fruit California roll and teriyaki shrimp and grilled onions over rice. IT WAS TERRIBLE! I only enjoyed the salad because it was fresh. The California roll smelled and tasted terrible. I couldn't eat it and moved on to the shrimp which to my surprise was chewy, I realized it was fried because the tails were still on it and I had to pull them out my mouth. The onions were grilled but with the skin on it, I also had to pull out the onion skin out my mouth. I told the cashier it was for dine in and she still packed everything to go. I sat down to eat and within 10 minutes I the cashier let me know they were closing in 10 minutes, I said ok and hurried to finish, then another cashier also told me they were closing in 5 minutes. What happened to the times when if customers are dining you have to wait for them and didn't hurried them. Also the loud music over the speaker made hard to enjoy being there. It was a bad experience dining here and never again will I come back or recommend them and they will hear from my lawyer if I get sick from eating there.

They used to be pretty good, but now they are only consistent on messing up orders and the food not being good all of the time. When you call to let them know that you are missing some of your order, they tell you to come back and get it. If you ask for compensation for their mistakes, they tell you they will only give you what you were missing. They don't care how much of an inconvenience they have caused.

This time that boyfriend went to pick up food, he pick up a salmon bowl for me, it had 2 small pieces of salmon and I received an extra piece. Those pieces were both hard and dehydrated, as if it was precooked and left sitting on the side to serve later like a fast food restaurant would. Not fresh at all. When he went to complain about the little pieces, the Asian lady said its because it's expensive and they have to serve small pieces.
