I personally have visited La Finca numerous occasions being that I work in the area. Wonderful authentic Colombian food! If you are looking for a some fresh food at a decent price, they're a great spot for it!
Excellent service friendly in the food delicious and good prices
One of my favorite places. I come here every time I'm on the Island!
I have not had such great Colombian food since I was in Medellin and Bogota with my family back in 2005. I chose the Bandeja Tipica, a remarkably modestly-priced platter heaped with thinly-sliced (but NOT dried out!) steak, plantains, chicharon, beans and rice. (I think I missed an item or two!) Man, was it good! Of course, no Colombian meal would be complete without flan and coffee. Divine! Now, much as I'd like to eat here every day, I don't think I would last more than a few weeks before keeling over! The food is *that* good and *that* filling! So, I guess I will be limited to eating here ... four days a week? :-) In my time there I very much enjoyed the continual Caribbean music, a pleasant combination of the typical Colombian music which I grew up to like the Cumbia as well as some salsa. Folks were coming in to pick up their takeout orders, enjoy a drink or two, and some groups were sitting down for both! There's a sign that says they deliver, which I must take advantage of the next time I'm in town. I'm very fortunate to have found this restaurant. --thanks Google Maps app! I look forward to turning my colleagues and office mates onto La Finca.
First able I like to take this opportunity n thank their entire staff for their warmth hospitality. I felt as if I was visiting family. The food is really good. Thanks very much.
The food is delicious i love this place . Favorite place to go if you want real delicious home made food .
Amazing service. Delicious food. Great pace to bring someone for a birthday
Delicious Colombian food, very well prepared and presented. The place is extremely clean and very nicely decorated for the holidays. Servers are very cordial and professional.
Food is delicious, staff super friendly and helpful. This is our second time in less than a month. We loved it. If you want to try colombian food this is the place. Advice, call in advance for dine in, place is small.
My husband and I have been coming here for years. Excellent food excellent service. Plenty of parking. The only thing is the tables are closer together than I would like. There are more tables in the warmer months bc there is outside seating. Very reasonably priced. Gotta get the sangria it's the best!
Just tried this lovely place. Small but mighty! Great food, atmospere & service. So glad we decided to check it out. Highly reccomend.
This is a little gem in Hicksville. Very tasty food with nice portions. The place is homely and cozy. Servers were very pleasant and friendly. All the food we ordered were great. Okay price too.
So I went in after I read all the reviews to this location Glad I went in. First it felt like I was on vacation the service was great they were on top of it. The owner happened to be there he was very warming. It was a real cozy spot food is ammmmmmaaaazzziinngg try their empanadas and hot sauce ( fresh) and their picada brings a lot of meat. Food portions are perfect and quality I would say is above pretty much all restaurants I have been lately. So give it a shot you will be coming back for more I know I will be 😎
I take out all the time from this place, everyone at my work loves it, the lemon chicken, garlic shrimp, typical platters.. its amazing and fresh. Highly recommend
Want a filling, down to earth meal? At a great price with great quality? Stop by here. Not too frilly, cozy home decor. Attentive staff. Something for every craving. Just came here for the second time, and feel that "that hit the spot" feeling. I wish it was closer to home so I would visit more open.
Food is always great and so is the service! We Always stop by when in the area! Their empanadas are yummy and the bandeja tipica is so filling and delicious we upgrade the meat and your set! Amazing all around
Today was my first time trying this restaurant. The food was AMAZING! Huge portions, very flavorful and very inexpensive. Will definitely be going back soon!
All stars for this restaurants excellent service, waiting is the best less 10 minutes, Food is incredible, meat temperature awesome. The best Colombian restaurant in whole long island 1000% recommend.
Small place with really good food. The music and the antiquities on the wall make the atmosphere authentic. But the food really makes it a genuine Columbian restaurant. The fried fish is delicious, the arroz con pollo hits the spot everytime. Their tostones are always crispy. They have a sizzling skirt steak that my wife loves. Only thing I recommend is to come with an appetite because the serving size is generous.
O.M.G!!!! This place did not let me down!! As a fellow Hispanic I know what I’m talking about when I say the cuisine here is genuine and tastes authentic! I got the mini bandeja típica and it was the perfect size for me :)! I cannot stop thinking about the delicious mint lemonade, a true timeless classic! It was so refreshing and beautifully presented! I was so excited to eat here and I was certainly not let down! I would totally recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area! Thanks to our really sweet waitress too!
If you like Colombian food, you'll love their typicos option. Their luch special is also a great value. Staff is very friendly.
Great place to eat. Friendly staff
Just went for a birthday lunch for my mom. The service was amazing, the staff were very attentive and nice. The food was hot and fresh and very delicious. Then they played a birthday song to the whole restaurant and gave us each a hat and sang to my mom. She loved it and it was a nice surprise. Highly recommend this place.
I Have been coming here for years since I was in College down the road. The food is always so fresh and the lunch combo is a great deal. 15 or 16 dollars for a entree plate, soup and a drink. The service is always so friendly and quick. They have a 2 for 1 drink special. If you want great Colombian food, definitely go and check them out.
Muy Rico..... Muy Rico..... mmmmm.. The people, service, and food could not get any better!!! The decor makes the place feel very comfortable as well!!! I can't wait to go back one day! I want to say Thank You to everyone involved!!!
Not even going to write anything here. Gets 5 stars across the board for a reason. Just get there and experience it. Today.
This is a small gem in the middle of Hicksville with great Colombian food. Although bigger and flashier spots have opened up nearby, La Finca has managed to maintain its quaint & cozy atmosphere. The food is just as delicious and fresh as it has been for decades.
Great service, staff was wonderful from the moment we walkway in.
The liver with onions were great. I asked for a lot of onions. They gave me exactly what I asked. The size was large liver. Taste was great. Price was very good for the Portion. The soup was tasty maybe a little salty. Edible. Rice and beans we're good. Pieces were good. Yes i recommend it.
Haven't been here in such a while and WOW. The guys were extremely friendly and recommended the margarita and fruit punch. OMG they were both delicious and packed a punch. We ordered chicken soup as well as the lentil and both were full of flavor. The picada was a huge platter full of delicious fried food. It looks like they have a cute set up for outdoor dining ,would definitely come back . Must try this gem.
They're always so nice and accommodating. Amazing food and service. I had my steak not made correctly, and the waiter was nice to have it re done for me. I've always had a great experience at La Finca. Siempre he tenido Buena experiencia en La Finca! Buen ambiente, comida, y servicio!
It was so nice to visit this restaurant Last Saturday with my family… We enjoyed its food from a sour soup juice until an exquisite oxtail soup so tasty!!!!!!!and the most amazing was the we found its bath room very clean and smelling good all over…. Definitely we will be back!!!
What a wonderful restaurant. The food was DELICIOUS, but what really stood out was the customer service. All of the staff so real, so down to earth, so accommodating. The combo of the great food plus the care to the customers is what will make me return.
Wow! Have you been there lately! Fresh looking atmosphere! New TVs, floors, landscaping, bathrooms... oh and wait... the outside dining is super special! The place is tiny but the flavors are BIG! Walk in Happy, leave wanting more. Big kudos to the decorator. Empanadas... yes please.. authentic food and service. Run don’t walk, revitalized hidden gem🍹.
Small cozy restaurant offering great authentic Colombian food! Each dish here is fresh and seasoned so well. Margaritas and blended juices "con leche" are perfect complements to the filling meals. I highly recommend starting your meal with the empanadas. Meals are huge!
This Colombian restaurant has earned a permanent place in our regular dining rotation, and for good reason - it simply never disappoints. What keeps us coming back time and again is the remarkable consistency in both quality and flavor that defines every visit. The empanadas here are, without exaggeration, the best I've ever experienced. Perfectly crispy on the outside with incredibly flavorful, well-seasoned fillings that showcase authentic Colombian preparation. These alone would be worth the trip, but they're just the beginning of what this kitchen does exceptionally well. Every dish on the menu delivers authentic Colombian flavors with care and attention to detail. Whether we're trying something new or ordering our usual favorites, the quality remains consistently impressive. The kitchen clearly takes pride in their craft, and it shows in every bite. The beverage program is equally noteworthy. Their margaritas and sangria are delicious (and strong!) and perfectly complement the bold flavors of the cuisine. For those seeking non-alcoholic options, the mint lemonade is an absolute refreshing delight - the perfect balance of citrus and mint that cleanses the palate beautifully. What makes this place truly special is its versatility. Whether we're settling in for a full dining experience or just stopping by for a quick bite, the service and food quality remain outstanding. Their takeout game is equally strong, making it our go-to choice when we want to enjoy these incredible flavors at home. This restaurant has mastered the art of consistent excellence while maintaining the warmth and authenticity that makes Colombian cuisine so special. It's become more than just a restaurant for us - it's a reliable source of comfort and incredible food that we can always count on.
Loooooovvveeee it here!! My husband and I come here all the time for dates. Staff is wonderful always in a good mood. Atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Food is killer! highly recommended the breaded chicken dish and empanadas. Margs are often 2 for 1. Would travel the island to come here.
I once stop this little restaurant years ago never knew how i end up there, neither couldnt remember the name and 8yrs later i found it. We order a bandeja tipica and oh lord, husband couldnt even wait for me to take a pic. We absolutly love it!!! the flavor brought us back to childhood years, home cook beans actually the whole meal we cant believe 8years later the flavor remained the same 5* if i cpuld more i would really enjoy my lunch and best of all it didnt exceed the 30$
Amazing place for second year in a row. I coach a travel soccer team from stroudsburg Pennsylvania and this is our third time in two years attending this place!!! Hands down some of the best Colombian food in the area and highly recommend it to anyone. Friendly and accommodating staff… Gracias a todos hasta el cocinero!!!! Salimos campeon de torneo (Sub-19). Gracias por la comida que nos dio energia para ganar!!! Hasta la proxima!!!
We were seated immediately by the friendly staff. The appetizers came out hot and were freshly made. I ordered fried fish which is one of my favorite dishes and I was not disappointed. The food was hot when it reached our table, freshly made crispy salads, seasoned to perfection. Will definitely be returning for the authentic Colombian Food
La Finca is absolutely the best Colombian restaurant on Long Island. My girlfriend and I just celebrated our 1-year anniversary together there, as it's where I took her on our very first date exactly 1 year ago to the day. Knowing that, the management and staff were so gracious and generous in going above and beyond in making this evening extra special and memorable. The food, specifically the churrasco, was out of this world! Merecen más que 5 estrellas!!! I recommend La Finca highly!
Good service, good prices, quality food , I had the mini churrasco it was huge Lol nice ambiance, Cool music, relaxing atmosphere. I keep going back for lunch.
A great place for tasty Colombian food. Try the plato tipico that has all the favorites including chicharron. The arroz con pollo is also full of flavor.
Very authentic Colombian restaurant. Excellent service followed by excellent food. Modest in price. I would recommend it and I will come back.
I have only tried their whole fried fish platter and it is happiness on a plate. I was craving fried fish during my pregnancy and my prayers were answered when I found La Finca ( a friend's recommended). The sides that came with the plate and they were quite generous and satisfying too
We were in the area. Decided to give it try. We ordered two mini medium well churrascos. They came in a hot iron skillet. I would come back just for the churrasco. Plenty of parking. Not crowded. Pleasantly surprised!!
My experience has been different each time I go to la Finca. Sometimes they have nice friendly staff, other times they have rude staff. In overall. It is a typical Colombia place with its traditional decoration, you feel like if you were in Colombia inside this restaurant. My husband who is not Colombian loves it! It’s his favorite Colombian place. Food is okay, I prefer the food from “punto rojo” bakery.
The food was good and could have been a bit warmer the service was okay the place is a good place to stop for a quick meal but expensive for basic food I say the kind of food you get from abuelita home.
Good food, good service, good atmosphere, but…be aware that you will be hit with an 18% tip without upfront disclosure.
La Finca truly lives up to its name. From the moment the food arrives, everything feels homemade, warm, and authentic — just like eating “en la finca.” The fresh juices are excellent, full of flavor and very refreshing. The baked fish was delicious, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with care. Every dish had that comforting, home-style taste that makes you want to come back. We started with an appetizer of fish and shrimp — including a fish and shrimp ceviche — which was very well prepared and full of flavor. The patacón was outstanding: crispy, fresh, and perfectly done. Portions were satisfying, and the service timing was on point. One important suggestion for improvement, especially considering it’s winter: the restaurant could be better heated. It felt quite cold inside, particularly around the legs, which makes you want to leave sooner instead of staying longer to enjoy dessert or another beer. Overall, La Finca offers delicious Colombian food with a very authentic, home-cooked feel. With better temperature control during colder months, the experience would be even better
Good place to eat Peruvian food. We ate there few times there for lunch. We are in the neighbourhood business and love to hang around there.
I found authentic Colombian restaurant! Cozy place with attentive service and authentic good food. Steak, chicheron, chicken soup were delicious! Beans were soupy so you can mix rice and so tasty. We loved drinks! Lemonade with mint was so refreshing and guanabana juice was the best I’ve ever had! Staff were very friendly and professional. Highly recommend if you are looking for authentic experience of Columbian food.
I've been to this establishment quite a few times however not for many years until just recently. The food quality is very good but the meal portion of Maduro shrunk since then. The steaks were delicious and presentation is always fun as it arrives on a sizzling platter. Keep that in mind when you're ordering so the steak isn't overdone by the time you're ready to eat it! The waitress was very sweet and friendly. The music playing on the 2 big screen tvs was very good and not too loud. The decor is cute and colorful 😍 although the place is very small. The bar area has no room to actually sit which is a shame because I'm sure the revenue would greatly increase if both aforementioned were larger and had the capacity to accommodate more patrons. It was afternoon so didn't try the sangria again but will soon at some point. I remember it was very good years ago. So this little gem is worth the stop. The menu is true Colombian so if that's what you're after this place doesn't disappoint 😉 Also good location close to Hicksville LIRR. Enjoy!
It's ok since new management took over the food doesn't taste the same. The lunch portions have been cut in size. Use to be really good.
First, I will say that the food was excellent. Having had Colombian food throughout the northeast as well as in Colombia, the flavors were authentic and ingredients fresh. I felt the jugo de mango (leche) was a bit watered down, but still tasty. The reason I gave 3 stars was due to experience with their service. All was well until we wanted to order, asking 3 different staff to get our waitress as we waited about 25 minutes with menus closed trying to figure out who was serving us. Once our waitress finally came over, we realized she was running around doing everything from clearing tables, taking orders, processing payment, and at one point making drinks too. During our meal, no one checked in on us nor asked if we needed anything. We had to ask for the check which was promptly left on the table. While walking the 10 feet to the front door, we walked past the 3 employees we asked to take our order, none said anything as we walked out. No thank you, no good bye, and I attempted to make eye contact. I should also mention from being greeted to leaving, I only spoke Spanish to the staff. Although the food was really good, service is just as important when I dine out. The place was small enough that employees walk by every 30-60 seconds, yet we didn’t feel welcome. Maybe that’s how they do business. Maybe they were having a bad day. Maybe other things were happening that I can’t comprehend. I’ll likely try them again at some point with the hope that my experience is better.
The beans were like a soup and I ordered sudado de carne and really was a flat meat with onions! A sudado is supposed to have yuca and potatoes.
The food was delicious, but 3 stars for 1. Sneakily adding an 18% tip onto the bill and then requesting more. 2. Charging $ for takeout containers. 3. Was also quite pricey for lunch. Final total over $100 for 3 people.
Good place for an affordable colombian lunch..$11 lunch specials. We ordered the fish and large soup. Fish was fresh and crispy. The service was very friendly and helpful. The place is small but cozy,
I go to every restaurant with the idea of ordering one of the popular dishes. Seating was quick and the staff were nice. I got a Mar y Tierra which is a plate of a steak with shrimp, cassava and a plain with a side of white rice and red beans. standard stuff everything was fine but it left me wanting more. Steak had a considerably large piece of fat attached and smaller pieces around the smaller end; and we had ordered 3 of these entrees with steak and they all had chunks of beef fat. I'm aware the fat helps it cook better and get it better flavor, but it was a tad bit too much. It could been better but I don't blame the waiting staff. Moreoso the cooking of the main entrees; cooks gotta clean the beef better. All in all though it was a warm, welcoming visit.
Went to get carry out on a Sunday. Place was empty and the server wasn't really helpful in educating us on Colombian cuisine. Food was sub-par. Chicken was terrible and salad was similar to diner salad.
Ordered 2 platos typical... the best part was the maduros & Avocado...and the Colombian soda! Steaks were so chewy & tasted char-burnt...I gained muscle mass in my jaw. The fpod lacks flavor, very bland. My "yellow" rice looked neon...I've never seen this at a Colombian place. The service was fine but not a fan of the food at all.
Food was good, but service was RIDICULOUSLY slow. We were the ONLY people eating and the waitress NEVER came by to ask if we needed anything. But, she was super quick to pick up her tip and to attend 1 man who sat at the bar. Will NEVER go back and will not recommend any of my family or friends.
I used to come to this restaurant every time I was in town but today I had the worst experience. The owner who happened to be assisting the customers was rude, i asked for an item that the menu presented on my dish and he was very unpleasant with his attitude. I asked for the avocado on the bandeja paisa and since I was told it wasnt included I ask for a side so i can pay it (which by the way was for my daughter) and was told they dint have it while another customer next to me had it on his plate. Very upseting experience. They need to learn customer service.
They wear me, wait 35 min, nobody came to say anything or take my order. Terrible customer service.
Just got arroz con pollo & beef empanadas. The arroz con pollo was bland, had peppers, onions, green beans & the rice was white. Empanadas were also bland. No taste at all in either. Very big disappointment. Will not be going there again.
3 times I've tried this place. Service is mediocre food never fresh and thelast time i went i ordered some meat and my dish wasn't even edible. I approached the server very cordially and asked him "please look at this dish, will you eat these ?" The server was speechless because he knew it wasn't. Unfortunately does not represent my country in a way I can recommend anyone to go here.
unfortunately, the service was horrible . the table was not clean, and neither set properly for a small place of only 7 tables they had 4 servers with no idea what they were doing . after 10 mins , finally took my order and took them another 40 to bring only 1 dish and an attitude . plus, it was cold, and then they never ever checked on you.
Honestly, I am very disappointed with this place. I ordered the salmon with vegetables and it was so salty that I felt I was going to have a heart attack. I couldn’t finish it due to being too salty. My wife ordered a soup and it was also too salty as well. The only thing I enjoyed here were the beef empanadas. Let me save you a trip and don’t go here.
So disappointed by the quality and portions. I ordered lunch and I received what was less than 4oz of chicken on a bed of rice and small potion of beans. Top it off was lackluster. They use to be my favorite spot ever but I will literally never go back. This is probably the 3rd disappointing experience between in house and from home and I cannot say it was a bad day.
We were there to eat ,and have a service dog with us , the manager don't let us eat in the restaurant and told us to seat outside in the 30 degrees weather, we have all paper work and approve for the dog, her name is Diana very rude and unrespectfull, and she just told us she took a class what kind of class she took, she should take a class customer 101 , and learn all the rules of a real service dog with all paperwork with federal law.
I'm very disappointed with this colombian food, all the taste like garbage.we through the food in the garbage, rice beans, chicken, beef, everything was disgusting.this happened today 4/27/2025 at 7 pm, never go back again to this "restaurant", the best thing you can do, is close this restaurant.
Came here a Sunday around 4pm. The place wasn’t packed, around 15ppl, and 2 servers working on the floor. Raul our server was a good person but a little shy. I ordered the “mini picada” $23 add to that the “combo” @ $10 and a “mini tipica” $16.75. Came first the drinks which were just a fine natural juice “maracuya” with concetrate flavor $4.50 and a “colombiana” soda $2.25. Then came the soup within 20min, which was ok. Cons: main courses did not came together, “mini tipica” came first almost at room temperature and 5min later the “mini picada” wait time to get main courses was around 40min. Prior that we had to ask multiple times if food was coming soon. Food flavor was tasteless, “chimichurri” was not a “chimichurri”, it was a slug sauce, “aji” was watery. Disappointed, we didn’t finish our meals and asked for the check. Owners/managers don’t really take care of general quality of service and argue with patrons when a complaint. Noticed a lot of takeout orders, probably the reason why there was a slow service. I don’t recommend dining in this place.
Took my daughter and her boyfriend here for lunch, service was beyond slow, they weren't busy and waitress took over 20 minutes to come to table, we got up and left. Don't know if food was any good or not, waitress should of come by and acknowledged us but nothing. Will not return to find out how good or bad food is!
I am Colombia and i have worked in colombian restaurants and bakerys and i must say. It was so sad and disappointing coming to a place like this. The food did not come out until 1 houre and we where the only people here. And when it came out it was horrible. Never again. I feel sorry for the owner. But they have to change the cook and get better servers
For many years I have enjoyed Colombian food at this restaurant with my family. The previous owner provided customers with great food and great quantity. Lately, the quality of the food is poor and the new management have shaved the portions to a minimum. Their prices have gone up. No pienso volver a este sitio......
Food was horrible, I had the bandeja de pollo, the chicken wasn’t seasoned properly, the beans had no taste to it. My mom left nauseous once we left the restaurant her steak tasted bad. The only good thing about this restaurant was the lemonade it was really good!
Pretty bad food in general. I had the skirt steak which tasted more on the burnt side, so I guess that’s what they call it (well done) LOL. Seriously wouldn’t recommend this place and I’m completely disappointed in the lack of service. Price in general not bad.
I have gone to this restaurant several times and also ordered pick up and the woman who owned the place before Was always very nice. Now a man is in charge and he is rude and obnoxious. Needless to say I will never visit this place again. If I could give them less than one star, I would
The food is bad it doesn't represent the Colombian food .do not order never grill chicken
My friend literally bought me rice and beans with chicken from this sketchy place, and after eating it, I felt awful. I ate more than he did, so my stomach was hurting all night, his too, but not as bad as mine. This is ridiculous. If you’re looking to get food poisoning, this is the spot. BEWARE!
Came with 3 friends and absolutely everything was terrible. The sangria had a funny taste, the margaritas were extremely sour and tasted like pure juice. The lemon chicken tasted old. My friend ordered churrasco steak and was served an extremely low-grade/thick piece of steak, which was clearly not skirt steak. When the bill came it was extremely high and none of were satisfied with anything, but we are not the type to complain. It was our first time here and I would not return. I Have passed this place a million times in the past 10 years and thought we should give it a try but I regret it.
They sat me outside because the restaurant was full inside. This was not a good start, I was ignored sitting outside. The food took forever to come. I ordered a "bandeja tipica", took an eternity. I asked my server about my food and she gave me an attitude!! When the food finally arrived, I asked for the check. This just annoyed the servers apparently and they shut the door to the restaurant, as if to leave me outside with no more service! The check took forever to arrive and then a long time to collect payment. Don't go here, unless you are ready to be ignored and abused!!!!!
The food was not fresh and La arepa had a weird taste . Little piece of meat over cooked while I asked medium rear. The service was horrible not friendly, the waiter didn’t care. He said if the food was not good, I shouldn’t have eaten it. He did ask a couple of times, but I was afraid they were gonna spit up my food so and I was starving. Seems like they don’t care. They want to charge your even for another cup of coffee
