It has been awhile since I came here and lets just say everything was outstanding! A Pisco Sour is a must! The food was so delicious and flavorful that I had no complaint! My family and I were very happy customers with not only what we ate and drank but with the entertainment, the restaurant had. The ambiance were very chill and sophisticated, which I should have taken more pictures. Well, definitely for next time! See you guys soon!

The food was delicious!! Very tasty 😋 had a little bit of everything, steak, rice, seafood, soap (chupe), ceviche & plantains. And to top it off the singer was beautiful with an amazing voice made my birthday dinner memorable.

The employees are very courteous and welcoming. The menu is on the smaller side but the food was very good. The chicken was tasty and cooked perfectly, the sweet plantains were delicious. I especially enjoyed the chichi morada. We will go back.

This was only my second time eating Peruvian food but the food I had at La Candela was far superior than on my previous outing elsewhere. The Ceviche Mixto was limey, fresh and it did not taste seafoody all and Chaufa had "wok hey" was just like I was having it at a Chinese restaurant. All the grilled items were delicious and cooked just right. I would highly recommend the Lomo Saltado as well and just so you're not thrown off before you order it there is a bed of French Fries at the bottom of the dish.

I want to start off by saying that this is a very loud atmosphere. If you want to have an intimate dinner with someone this is not the place. At least not at the time that I went which was Sunday for dinner. As an appetizer we got the Papa a la Huancaina. The suace that was on top of the potatoes had a a bit of a kick that passed quickly though. It was smooth and creamy. As an entree I got the Lomo Candela which consisted of the sauteed beef strips and shrimp. It was only like 3 pieces of shrimp but it was still good

:Another good find on Thanksgiving 2025. The atmosphere is calm. The food is fantastic. The service is on point. And if you need something, they do their best to accommodate. Overall, a great experience.

I’ve been here before and really enjoyed it, however, yesterday’s experience was mediocre. The causa was salty and most of the food came out room temperature and anyone who loves a tamal, knows that a cold tamal isn’t that great. The anticucho was very good. Thumbs up to that. The service was good. They were very attentive. The atmosphere was loud. The were projecting a concert with the sound on full blast. The dining room, though spacious only had a few tables. No need for the music to be so loud. Maybe we caught them on an off day.

Came here on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was half empty, and 7 of us were seated at a table meant for 6 people. Not that big of a deal. Our waiter came and took our drink and appetizer orders. We asked to please have water for the table. Appetizers came out and we all enjoyed them, but still did not get water. Mind you this was the only beverage some people at the table ordered to drink. Almost 30 minutes after being seated and asking on 4 separate occasions, water was finally brought to the table. We didn’t feel our waiter was very attentive. Everyone’s Entrees came out at separate times, so some people were almost finished eating while others were just receiving their food. They have live music, which was nice. Be cautioned that the volume is very loud, so being seated next to speakers might be uncomfortable. Despite the service not being the greatest, the food was delicious. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly.

Terrible experience at this restaurant. The food tasted good, but the service was awful. When the waitress came to our table, she didn’t even offer us water and wasn’t attentive at all — we had to call her every time we wanted to order something else. The bill was extremely expensive, and they included the tip in the total even though we were only two people. The restaurant only had a couple of tables occupied, so there was no reason for such poor service. As we were leaving (around closing time, but there were still people eating), they started vacuuming the carpets — very disrespectful, in my opinion. First and last time I go. I don’t recommend it! Don’t waste your money and your time!!

The steak in the Bistec a lo pobre was awful. Get it with entraña instead (you have to ask, it’s not listed on the menu). Anticuchos de corazón was awful as well, horrible texture - rubbery & flavorless. When I complained about the steak & got my steak switched our server charged me $30 as an upcharge (for just the steak) on top of paying for my original meal which I didn’t like. Instead she could’ve charged me $45 total for the entraña with the sides but they ended up charging me $57 for a below avaerage meal. The server was nice but she took forever with everything & it was a horrible experience in general.

I had gift card for candela I called commack and they told me I had to go to Hicksville because this is where it was purchased. So when walked in, I made sure to ask them if I could use the gift card. It was a $100 gift card btw. So after I eat the waiter said to me that the gift card was not activated that I needed the receipt. And therefore I had to pay out of pocket despite having a gift card. The back of the card does NOT have an activation phone number or website..so how would in activate the card?!? They said to me that the person that bought the gift card had to come or the receipt. When a gift card is purchased, the person pays and the cashier automatically loads the card with cash balance. They are so slick. I will never come back here even if the food was good. BEWARE DO NOT purchase gift cards from la candela!! My coworkers wasted $100 for absolutely nothing!. El que mas tiene siempre se quiere dar de vivo
