Friendly staff not many choices of food in Hillsboro didn't expect to find much out here but I'd say this a hidden gem to this city. The food is made to order comes out piping hot. They also have authentic Chinese dishes from different providences. The portions are huge! Prices are very reasonable. It even has a drive thru. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Pleasant clean environment. I will definitely be back. Thanks wok express for a great experience. Skip everywhere else and come here if you're looking for fresh food, good service and going home happy or wherever it is that you're going. Cheers!

Excellent service. Excellent food. Everything is cooked fresh when ordered and they are happy to accommodate special orders. Extra veggies. Extra spice. No problem! We had moo goo gai pan, spicy chicken and chicken lo mein. All 3 were very delicious. Their egg rolls are perfect. The restaurant is clean inside and out. If your passing through or live in Hillsboro and enjoy Chinese food then give this place a try. We will definitely be back.

The food is always steaming hot and fresh. Staff are happy and super courteous. Great value for the portions. Generally, I can't finish a full meal and get a to go box and have lunch the next day as well.

Wok Express is the only chinese place I go to in Hillsboro anymore. I tried Sy's Kitchen and I just didnt get the portions for the price that they charged. Here at Wok Express you can expect a portion size for at least 2 meals. The staff is always amazing and friendly. There will never be another chinese place for me in Hillsboro.

My husband and I were just passing through, and we are very happy we stopped in. The shrimp fried rice and shrimp lo mein was delish. We’re thinking about making another stop here on our way back home tomorrow it was that good. Thanks Andy for your great customer service

This place is must stop and try. The service is good the food is hot and fresh they make when you order. I’ve been here at least 10 times it never disappoints.

We happen to find this place while on our way to Austin TX. It is clean, but the dining area is just blah. No decor. However, that is not a reason to not eat here. It’s AWESOME!!! We ordered 4 different entrees, so we all shared to get a taste of all we ordered. It was hot, fresh, and tasted so good! A couple weeks later after eating here the first time, we were on our way to San Antonio, & had to stop again. The 4 of us again ordered 4 different entrees to share. It did not disappoint us, they really do serve the freshest ingredients and we loved it. You will not be disappointed if you eat here. It is the best!

My fellow worker and I dined at this restaurant one afternoon. He said that he enjoyed it once and felt I would as well. I ordered the Orange chicken over rice. Excellent flavor, pipping hot and fresh. I don't think you will find anything better for the price and the quantity was more than I expected. Also, the place was very clean and pleasant. You will not regret dining at this establishment.

I just experienced this place for the first time, after I read a ton of great reviews, and I can honestly say all the great reviews are 100% real! The staff at the windows was super friendly and since I was the only one there he chatted with me until my food was ready! My food was super hot and fresh, and the fried dumplings are worth every penny! I couldn’t stop eating even though there was so much food! The prices are a total bonus! Would highly recommend and I will definitely be back!

I was very surprised at the hot and freshness of the food, as they cook it after you order! The broccoli beef is excellent and the sweet and sour chicken hot and good! The food amount and quality I received was more than with the price with drink! Highly suggest if you like this type food!

Sometimes when travelling, and hungry, you'll stop by what you think is a quick meal, not really expecting much...Yesterday, I stopped into Wok Express, wanting something different than a quick burger. What I received was an unexpected surprise. I ordered the Veg Lo Mein (spicy), egg roll and small bowl of hot and sour soup. It was served at my table on a real plate, spicy as ordered (not a common experience), freshly prepared, and very tasty. I was very, very impressed. Not just the great food, but friendly staff. The portion size was big enough for 2 meals, and the server was friendly, helpful, and meal was served quickly. When travelling back through Hillsboro, I will attempt to time my arrival for another visit to Wok Express. Excellent food and service.

Just went through the drive through and got c4 and a19 for my husband. We got fried wontons and egg rolls as well. The food is the best Oriental food we have eaten in a long time. Fresh, hot, and so good. Prices were great too. The guy in the drive thru looked young but he was very polite as well. When we drive thru again we will definitely be stopping again. Thank y'all for the amazing experience and food.

I’ve been coming to this place since I was a freshman at Hill, the College that’s right down the road from this place. Everytime I drive through hillsboro I have to stop here. TRUST me when I say you can’t go wrong with ordering the lo mein (chicken or veggie is what I usually get) The chicken/veg fried rice & of course the sweet & sour chicken. The food is always hot & ready to eat even in the drive thru. 10/10 would recommend!!! Sorry about the photos we had already eaten some of it, portions are quite large! 🤣

My son and I decided to stop for chinese food. We almost didn't because there were no cars in the lot at 1200p. But hey, it's Chinese, how bad can it be. He had the beef lo mein and I had the beef, chicken and shrimp lo mein. And we ordered it spicy with egg rolls. The quality was large, it was very hot and very good for a drive through chinese food restaurant. I would definitely come back. We also sat in the restaurant. The decor was a little needy but clean.

i've only ever gone drive-thru because the dining area was never open due to covid. but i love ordering from this place mainly for their fried rice. it's so good! i'm not a huge fan of their beef entrees. their chicken entrees are ok. but i always come back for THAT RICE 😋

Still no dining in only take-out. Ugh!! The food is cold by the time we get home and the sauce has spilled oit. Yet for fast Chinese it's great.

The selection here is fairly simplified but the food is good. I tend to stick with chicken dishes I don't love cheap quality of beef...but they are usually only busy in the drive through so if you want a cool and quiet place to go even for lunch after church it's pretty slow inside. Food is very good pricing as well which is harder to find so also a good option for that reason. I would love to see them offer slightly more flexible options for sides as you can't substitute anything but aside from that...its a favorite for me. It's not a date kind of atmosphere it's very plain and functional but for just a clean and simple place to eat I absolutely recommend it

This place was okay, not great. The food was served hot and fresh even though I came at 3pm. The chicken lomien no veggies was normal tasting, nothing to write home about but certainly not bad. The rice was dry and inedible. The egg roll was hot fresh and normal. The cleanliness of the place was weird because it looked clean but if you looked at the door handles they were gross. All in all it was fine and I drive I-35 everyday so I will likely be back.

I would give this place a 3.5 star. Friendly staff and the food came out quickly. Upon looking around, it’s mostly clean except some debris left beside a booth that has never been cleaned up. Food is good. I had sweet sour chicken with egg rolls and cheese wontons. I didn’t prefer the egg rolls as they are chicken. Avoid the plain fried rice!!! Mine tasted like the burnt bottom of their Wok pan 🤢 overall yes a good place to eat and dine and yes I would come come back and yes I would recommend.

I came in about 3:30 PM. The place was not busy. I noticed that the front counter person was eating food on the front line! Big no-no in a restaurant business. He was also dressed in sweatpants and crocs on his feet (At least he was wearing socks). The food was OK, but like other posters have said nothing to write home about. The lack of professionalism is probably the reason I won’t go back.

Food was just okay. I ordered the orange chicken — the chicken itself was fried well and nice and crispy, but the sauce tasted store-bought and was simply poured over the top instead of being cooked together. I tried to upgrade to the house special fried rice but wasn’t allowed to, so I ended up with plain fried rice, which was exactly that — plain, with no vegetables and barely any flavor. I had been looking forward to trying this place, but unfortunately, I won’t be returning. Disappointing experience overall.

Sesame Chicken Special- comes with an egg roll and a drink. Sesame chicken was crunchy and the sauce was good. Wonton Soup- probably the worst dish from my order. Soup was pretty water, 2 small M&M candy sized meatballs wrap with a large amount of wonton wrap. Service: Staff are super friendly and fast. Other: Large parking lot. Lots of tables to dine at. The Mens Restroom was super gross. Probably cleaner outside.

Owner was very rude. I asked for some soy sauce and she acted like I could only get two packets. Food wasn't the greatest. I won't be back. No wonder there wasn't anyone eating there.

I asked cashier for a coke and 2 lemonade drinks...she gave me 3 cokes and would not budge on getting it correct. I thought the customer was always right.

I called in a order and picked it up in the drive through. The egg drop soup was good but the rest of the good was horrible. It had no flavor and didn't taste good at all. We got two different lunches and they both tasted bad. We won't go back.

Two people are always nice there in drive through that I tip everytime and know my order everytime. I get the older lady she yells and charges extra for me when I never do. She snapped at me at window while I was trying to explain to her but never going there anymore again. One rude lady that charges me for green onions I do not deal with rude people.

Food is edible I got referred by a friend to come check this play out but honestly last time I come here. The chicken is baiscally fried chicken with sause put on top I recommend panda if you don’t want to be disappointed by Chinese food and then I heard the sounds of microwave comon am I really paying money for microwave food that I can buy in HEB and microwave it myself at home yeah no thank you .

Ordered the spicy chicken. It wasn't very good. Was never asked if I wanted a refill on my tea. I was the only customer in the restaurant at the time. Could have had a better meal and service at the Golden Buffett across the highway.

Update This place has definitely dropped in flavor and quality. I wouldn't go here anymore. As soon as you walk in you can notice the cleanliness. The staff is friendly. The food is cheap, made fresh and tastes great.

The lady was rude and extremely stingy with everything. Took back some sauces and then tried to charge me $1 a sauce when i tried to get a different kind. Pretty ridiculous honestly.

The food was terrible. All the meat was chewy and the sauce tasted like gravy. My brother, my mom, and I all got different things and they all tasted the same. Would NOT go there again.

I don't know what the problem has been lately, Wok Express used to be so good, but their quality has definitely dropped. The food doesn't taste the same anymore, and as someone else said lately it doesn't have any flavor. My family and I have been regulars for a while and we order the same thing pretty much every single time. However, for the last two visits they have managed to mess up my order and give me the wrong rice. Last time I let it go and just ate it, but this time I called in and complained, expecting at least a little understanding. Instead I was just met with a rude remark and the girl trying to blame me for the mistake, after having confirmed my order twice over the phone and once at the window.

Don’t waste your money the food taste like wood go across the street to golden buffet. The portions are small and overpriced.

I have never been a worse Chinese place. The food is horrible, they took about 20 minutes to serve the food on the drive thru because they apparently don't want to open the dinning room because of COVID? If you can't get fried rice rice, tiny egg rolls, and even the lo mein was so dark from the soy sauce. Those are the basic Chinese food plates. Then the portions aren't even up to panda Express standard, and i consider Panda Express a bad place to eat

I went to this place yesterday and I was quite disappointed. I ordered vegetable lo mein, which is a dish I've ordered countless times for at least 30 years now at quite a variety of restaurants but this lo mein was odd. I paid $30 and i got an oddly small portion. I usually get a large portion that is stuffed full. I only got 3 florets of broccoli in the whole box, no mushrooms at all. This lo mein contained celery and zucchini which I've never received in lo mein before. The sauce tasted off. I put more than half of it in the fridge and about 2 hours later I became very nauseous. I went ahead and threw it in the garbage and I will never eat here again. I deserve a refund.

Stopped here on the waco from Waco to Dallas. Ordered in advance over the phone, and recieved good service doing this. When I got there, the lady didn't say a word. Simply motioned for things such as tapping the card machine to explain for me to pay, or pointing to the bag when I asked for cutlery. I got the chicken lo mein which was bland and the chicken was rubbery. Husband got Mongolian beef and said it tasted off. The meat was literally swimming in sauce and it upset his stomach after eating it. The fried dumplings were good. Wouldn't eat here again.

The only good thing I can say about the place is that is was clean. The food however was horrible. I got the pepper steak combo. The steak was rubbery and chewy. The texture was so weird I questioned whether it was beef or not. The rice tasted like an old dish towel. Also the lady in the front was well, I wouldn't say rude, but very standoff ish. Not very welcoming. I will not be going back. I see why the place was completely empty. You were warned.

This place up charges to replace rice with noodles without telling you and it’s not on the menu. The food is not that good. There is another Chinese restaurant in Hillsboro that is cheaper and much better food.

This place is not what it used to be. I've been here many times, but won't be back. The chicken in the lo mein tasted microwaved, the other food was good. There was no soap in either restroom, so who knows how staff were washing their hands and the women's room toilet wouldn't flush. The staff was more interested in his phone than keeping a clean and safe restaurant. I hope they fix their problems before they make people sick.
