Came for some meatballs left with a recliner and a coffee table 10/10
If both sides are open, just to let you know its the same on both side, the line moves fast and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu but the meatballs taste better here than the frozen one you can make at home. It is a very chilling cafeteria and you clean up after yourself and bring your tray. There are even kids play area and drinks are self serve.
This establishment offers a convenient and budget-friendly option for a quick meal after shopping. I indulged in the Swedish meatballs, which were exceptional, while my partner savored the plant-based balls, finding them equally delectable. Dining here has become a cherished tradition for us, and we relish the experience every time we shop here.
This review strictly covers only the Christmas dinner event offered by the restaurant. I don't see any mention online about this location so Im posting here. As a aside, I did hear offhand that breakfast is 2.99 for a small or 4.99 for a large. This is a ticket only event offered right after Thanksgiving at the restaurant only. Tickets are 19.99 or 16.99 if you are a IKEA family member. I went to the 630pm to 800 time. There is a earlier slot for 430 pm to 6. We waited outside while the staff are preparing the food and dining area. They will give you a colored wristband to identify who is participating in the event. Food is obtained by the usual cafeteria style method. Hot items are served in the back of the restaurant by staff. Some items are grouped together on a platter such as desserts and the smaller meat and egg items. For example, the gravalax is served with the herring. The ham is more of salty meaty ham. In fact one of the few items that had plenty of salt. Rest of the items are more subtle in their taste. A lot of the items are just stuff reheated, defrosted, or opened from the food store below. Still good though. The highlight of the meal are the whole filets of smoked and poached salmon topped with sliced cucumber. Soft drinks are just soda, diet soda, and the fizzy berry drink. I did like glogg. It was a sweet herbal drink. There is some festive decor on the tables and the wall and are pretty nice. They also had expat kids sing some songs. That was nice. I enjoyed the event, well worth if you have the time.
This is one of the best places to have a leisurely meal in Houston. Their food tastes like it is a gourmet offering but they charge you fast food restaurant prices. Maybe not to to everyones liking but I always enjoy the meal here. Sometimes I just come here for coffee and dessert when passing by.
Had a pretty decent meal for a good price! Staff is just as friendly as the folks who work the showroom, and the Swedish dishes and sweets are pretty good. They are almost amazing for the reasonable price you pay! I had their lingonberry spare ribs and I was not expecting them to be as delicious as they were! Definitely worth visiting the IKEA restaurant even if you aren’t in the mood to shop for IKEA stuff!
Ikea is always a great stop for a quick, affordable, fresh, vegan spot! We love any chance we get to (of course, shop!) but enjoy grabbing a delicious plate! Vegan Options -Veggie Balls, full vegan, you don't have to ask for changes. -*Plant Balls - the plate shows there is milk. This is because of the gravy & mashed potatoes. -French Fries ----We prefer the PLANT BALLS (vegan) with the Veggie Ball Plate. Hopefully, that makes sense. Dine-In experience is always great for us; always clean, available seating, great self-serve section. Beautiful views almost anywhere in the seating area. Only negative: Due to the pandemic, no self-serve beverages. We freak'n loved their tea! Def missed that! (totally understand, though) ***As for the Veggie/Plant Balls, you can purchase them frozen on the first floor. Def recommend. COVID Notes -Indoor seating is available -Social distance & masks are not required. Staff wore masks. -Customer service was delightful, safe, and helpful -Ordering was effortless & smooth -No self-serving beverages are available. -No issues at all. Thank you, Ikea Restaurant, for delicious Vegan Options!
The Swedish Meatballs aren't that delicious considering how so many people say it's super good. The Lingonberry sauce that came on the side was delicious! The Chicken Tenders and Fries were better than I expected since it was more brown than golden brown. Also ordered their Mac & Cheese which the cheese was not smooth. Each bite tasted gritty/grainy like they didn't mix the cheese well. The ordering system is a bit confusing and you can't substitute sides which I wish they would allow you to. Overall a bit disappointing. Though the highlight of the meal was their drink options. Really enjoyed those. Might just go back just for the drinks.
Food is usually okay. Nice resting place to grab a quick bite while shopping. Dine in only (can't take leftovers unless bringing own containers or buy some on the spot). Coffee is free for members (free membership) but the creamer dispenser is out most of the time so are silverware. Very busy on weekends with lots of energetic kids running around (right next to kids toy section). The cashier was kinda rude during our last visit. Most of the staff are friendly though.
My mom and I went here ...... and was here for 5 hours. Holy smokes! There is so much to see.... The food is good... Clean organized. Cute stuff. I think knives and utensils were pricey but.. other stuff I think was reasonable. .....they do have stainless steel pots and pans but you have to read them.... The staff helped my mom also find her keys (at the end we lost them) 🤣🤣🤣
For the price and environment, is a good mid-point for the whole IKEA experience. However, kind of creepy that they say they are eco-friendly and selling wool or even the whole leather as a tapestry. Not ecofriendly at all considering how polluting is growing livestock, and also extremely cruel. The plant-based options were delicious and simple, but they should make it 100% plant-based if they want to call themselves eco-friendly.
Quality has definitely gone downhill. Prices are still very reasonable though so maybe that's the draw. The meatballs were dry, the mashed potato had very little flavor. It was like the diet version of what this used to be. Garlic bread still amazing, wish it had been warm though. I went at 2pm so maybe the quality is better closer to noon or 7pm?
Oh I love ikea. But one time that was the last time I went my son fell from a display floor they have in the second floor he hit he self pretty bad and they manager just said he look okay. Now I have to take him all the way to Galveston so he can have exercises in his arm.
Good food, but today I'm reminded why I don't visit often: the loud clashing and banging of chairs flipped onto tables as they close up a full 90 MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING. It's so insanely loud and you can't enjoy your meal at all because it takes him 30min. All you hear is banging around you as you try to eat.
This review is about 1st floor cafeteria. Time ago the quality of the sausage and other food was good but they have done changes going down in quality and the food is very bad, taste bad, bread taste no good at all like old, expired. The ladies attending were respectful but not organized at all. For 7 sausages the waiting time was >20 Minutes, too much !
I think overall the food should have been much better than what's sold outside The dessert display was empty - a large cabinet was barely filled with just a couple of cakes. We had chicken. The chicken was tasty, but I wish it had been grilled. In other countries, there are usually salad plates available, and I really missed that here.In my opinion, it was a big disappointment
I had not been at IKEA’s restaurant in a while. I had been to the store but not the restaurant and now I remember why.. The food dropped in price. I guess is a way for them to bring back customers.. Well I see why they made it cheaper! It looked and tasted horrible! Like cafeteria food!! Just bad.. yuck 🤮 I’ll keep visiting their store, just now buying any food. Thank you but no thank you!! Ps: the cake was the only “decent” edible thing.
