Came here for NYE dinner. Food and service were excellent!! Everything was nicely plated , fresh and tasty. Portions were on the smaller side for family style meals. Ordered the spicy chicken wontons, carpaccio hamachi, garlic green beans, orange chicken, pork ribs (must order), and himachi stone bowl (forgot the name), and flaming chocolate sphere. Highly recommend - request table outside for best seating ambiance! Great for larger groups.
OMG, this restaurant is top-of-the-top. We went for New Year's Eve with our family and we had the best night ever. They have the best service; they are so nice and friendly. The water guy made our night better; he was very attentive and always happy. Waiters are very professional and very knowledgeable about the menu. Food is a 10 out of 10. We are coming back to try more food 😋 😀 Thanks for everything. Happy New Year 2026!
I’ve travelled across the United States. I been to many world famous chefs restaurants. But this is hands down executed far better that any of the others. I’d fly back here just for this. It was perfect.
Host Greeting:5stars, very nice, respectful and cheerful. Busser/Food Runner: 5 Stars, Reon always checking on me. Everything came out quickly and much faster than most restaurants. Dirty dishes were picked up in a timely manner. Never had a cluttered table. Server: 5 stars, Yoon was so professional, informative and helpful. His service was on point and got all my good eats expeditiously. I want him as my server the next time I go back, and it will be soon. Manager: 5 stars, the manager was helpful. Brought me one of my desserts and did a whole PowerPoint presentation of it. It was nice. First time I ever had someone describe all the ingredients that went into making my dessert. Thank you for that and the great hospitality. Staff: 10 stars, all the staff greeted me as soon as I came in, any staff member that was near me, said hi and checked if I needed anything . They all gave me a nice farewell when I left. I just wanted to hug everyone because they made me feel so at home. Water: Aqua Pana & Vero water was so good. I almost drank a gallon, no lie. Ube Cheesecake: 5 stars. Very flavorful and well presented. Chocolate Sphere: 5 stars, it had cake and ice cream inside of it with some berries on the side and macnut and crunchie balls inside. So yummy. Sticky ribs: 5 star, savory with a little sweetness to it. So tender. Nom nom nom. Pad Thai: 5 stars they sell shrimp pad Thai but let me have it as a chicken version. That was really good. First time having it and I’ll get it again. house fried rice: Five stars, it was a family size portion but felt light on my belly. I loved it. Pork Gyoza: 5 stars, it is pan fried which is different from the deep fried version I’ve had elsewhere. I likey likey. I recommend this. Ribeye Steak: 5 Stars. oMGGGGG it was so so good. I got it medium. It was 16oz but felt like double that. Of course I got rice with it. It came on a bed of veggies. It came with some sauce on the side which was also good. Everything was just so darn good at this place. Malasada and ice cream: 5 Stars, the malasada are freshly made so it was nice and hot. It came with whip cream and banana foster sauce. I added the ice cream for extra pizzaz. The ambiance was perfect. Definitely a vibe. Thank you to Iron Chef Morimoto, Manager lady, Server Yoon, Busser Reon and all the Morimoto Staff. See you guys soon. Mahalo
Dinner in Honolulu at Morimoto Asia Waikiki, an upscale Pan-Asian restaurant by Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto. Here I'm getting served one of his signature dishes..... Ishiyaki Buri Bop, Hamachi seared tableside (inside the hot bowl), pickled daikon, spinach, carrot, royal fern, egg yolk, sweet ginger soy, yuzu kosho, while Dianne enjoys Hamachi Kama. So many wonderful dishes we could have also enjoyed.
Everything about our dinner was top notch! The hospitality was beautifully orchestrated while also not being overbearing! Every single person was so nice, you can definitely feel the Aloha! Now for the food, everything was a 10/10!! The duck amazinggg, the ribeye was so juicy and and sticky ribs are a must! This was an unforgettable experience for sure! Our server Nezi was awesome, the manager Sara was so helpful, and the support staff was the equivalent to the 2016 golden state warriors! Will definitely be back soon
Had a lovely experience here. Our server Yoon was very professional and did a great job with excellent service Food was lovely, duck was great, everything is a winner. Venue is well presented Good spot for date night or special occasion. Worth the spend
Food came out quickly. Nice view of the beach. Staff are courteous and friendly. Always come here for the A5 wagyu ishikaya, pretty pricey but worth it for the high quality.
I stay at the hotel and Morimoto is at the second floor. My reservation is at the opening time at 5PM. so while waiting to go to dining area at the bar is busy and not enough staff to take care of the customers. I wish to have a drink before I go in, but it didn't happen. server is professional and polite. I actually look at the menu before I come and lots of interesting fusion in the menu. We have Sticky Ribs and Hamachi Taco for start. Grilled Kalbi and A-5 Surf Turf roll. Surf Turf is nice presentation and Miyazaki wagyu is very good. If you want to have a fancy dinner, Morimoto is a wonderful choice for special day.
From the moment we stepped into this breathtaking restaurant, we were swept away—not just by the view of the beach (which are absolutely stunning), but by the warm, impeccable service that made us feel like VIPs from start to finish. Every detail is masterfully done—from the sleek, modern design to the gentle ambient lighting that perfectly complements the surrounding scenery. It’s the kind of place where you feel like time slows down, and every course is an event in itself. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable about every dish and drink pairing, and genuinely kind. You could tell that the staff takes pride in the experience they’re creating, and it shows. Now, the food? Next level. Every dish was a beautifully plated work of art—delicate, flavorful, and bursting with the kind of balance only true culinary masters can achieve. From the melt-in-your-mouth sushi to the perfectly seasoned entrées and creative cocktails, everything was unforgettable. This isn’t just dinner—it’s an experience. One that I’ll be dreaming about until I come back (which will be very soon hopefully). If you’re looking for an upscale spot that delivers on all fronts—ambience, service, views, and cuisine—this is it. Pure magic.
Amazing! The staff are on point, from explaining the menu to being sure no allergies or special food needs. We followed the waiters suggestions and then shared. He was spot on! The duck melted in your mouth and the two sauces created so much depth. The beef and shrimp plates were equally delicious. The chef even took something as simple as fried rice to another level. The menu selection and pricing was much better and the quality of our experience was the best we have found in Waikiki. To top it off, the view…. So yummy and reasonable, we are returning tonight!
Christopher was our server and he went above and beyond! We came here as an end to our week long honeymoon and he made the whole experience more than we could have dreamed of!! Ryon and Skye also did great at making sure our table had full water cups and took our plates right when we finished. If you want the most amazing food you’ve EVER had with service to match, you should make a reservation here! 💯
A celebration of all things good from the Pacific Rim, Morimoto Asia Waikiki well-reflects and elevates the culinary diversity drawn from Hawaii. Order family style so as to try as many treats on menu, while sharing amongst good company over cocktails. As with any Hawaiian table, pretty much any and all combinations of dishes will work. Highlights include old-time Morimoto classics such as Tuna Pizza (i.e. sashimi tostada) and Fish Carpaccio (e.g. Japanese ceviche). Sticky Ribs, in hoisin sweet chili, is a definite all-around crowd pleaser. Ishiyaki Buri Bop, Ribeye Steak (16oz) and Angry Lobster make an excellent surf-and-turf combo to close the meal — and are a joy for all senses. Served in hot stone pot or sizzling iron plates, proteins are seared and sauces bubbling table side. Desserts, top-notch. Ube Basque Cheesecake is amazingly creamy, earthy but still slightly tart. Chocolate Entremet is served flambé. Excellent and on-point front-of-house service team, providing a truly fine-dining experience, with still a welcoming and personable beach vibe. Interior and exterior seating, chic designed.
Vinnie the manager and Christopher our server were so kind and friendly. The moment we stepped in it was 5 star service from the hostess to the drinks to the appetizers to the atmosphere we couldn't ask for anything else. The atmosphere was classy and comfortable. We sat on the patio side with a beautiful ocean view. When I say the food was delicious that may be an understatement we will be back!
Food was incredible, don’t think you can go wrong, but the duck and cod stood out. The drinks were great (get the smoked old fashion). The atmosphere was a vibe with tantalizing aromas, great music (all eras) and the overall decor. Finally, the service! Top notch all around, attention to detail, happy and attentive. Connor was our server and made it an especially great night.
WOW! Every dish is delicately designed to enhance your dining experience. The Wagyu sushi rolls were incredible. The cocktails were unique. Every single plate we ordered was delicious. It's all definitely worth the price you pay for the quality and service. There is open patio seating that has a view of Waikiki Beach at sunset that I highly recommend booking for your special occasion or date night. We really enjoyed the evening here!
The atmosphere was great, the music was a vibe, and Yoon was a great waiter! Bus boys (Mark) and water guy (Christian) were great! We enjoyed our experience for the most part! However, I will say the Vegas location has the food beat but we will be back when we visit Hawaii! We love Chef Morimoto regardless! 😊
Absolutely wonderful food and customer service. It was a little different for me as I have never been to fine dining like this but I loved it! Celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary and 65th birthday here this trip. Loved it all. Mahalo
A delightful evening with delicious food and excellent service. Reon and Keavon gave us friendly and attentive service, and excellent menu pairing recommendations. The sticky ribs were amazing, so was the duck. Veggies were crisp and flavorful and the pad Thai was good.
Whenever I miss the old days, I tend to go back to the foods I used to eat. For my birthday, choosing an Asian restaurant was an easy decision—I was craving Peking duck and also missed Thai food, and an Asian restaurant was the perfect way to satisfy that homesickness. The service at the restaurant was amazing and really made me feel special. Even though I made a last-minute reservation, they gave me a window seat and said that birthdays are a special occasion. I’m truly grateful for everything they did for me. The food was delicious. If the Peking duck had been sliced a little thinner and served with the meat separated from the skin, it would have been perfect. But the sweet bean sauce for the duck was absolutely spot-on!
We had the most wonderful experience thanks to Anthony and Chris B.! From the moment we arrived, they made us feel so welcome and comfortable. Both of them went above and beyond to ensure we were happy throughout our entire visit. They took the time to walk us through the menu, offering helpful suggestions and recommending the best options based on our preferences. Every recommendation was spot on and truly exceeded our expectations. The food was outstanding- fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. But what really made our visit special was the exceptional service. Anthony and Chris B. were attentive without being intrusive, and their genuine kindness made us feel like valued guests. We truly appreciated their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail. We will absolutely be back and will be recommending this place to our friends and family. Thank you for such a memorable dining experience. If you’re looking for great food and top-notch service, this is the place to go!
Initially I was somewhat dreading what might be an overhyped dinner, Iron Chef or not, but to my delight this was a great dinner. The staff were great, friendly and efficient, making sure drinks were refilled and plates cleared. The interior was bold and on the second floor with waterfront view. The food was presented well and tasted delicious. Five stars!
From the Sticky Ribs to the Rib Eye and Fried Rice, everything was absolutely phenomenal! The flavors were spot-on, and every dish was cooked to perfection. On top of that, the service was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and made the entire experience even better. Highly recommend!
The food was AMAZING. I have a gluten allergy and the deconstructed lobster WAS AMAZING. Ful of flavor and just the right amount of spice. Our waiter Christopher Gregory was great and had a great demeanor. We came for my husband's birthday and I will say I do feel like there could be a little celebration touch added to the experience like we've experienced at other restaurants. But, besides that overall great!
We celebrated our engagement with dinner at Morimoto’s. It was phenomenal! The sticky ribs are to die for. Anthony was our waiter and he was excellent. We loved chatting with him and he even helped us celebrate with a sake toast and a desert. A great end to the best day of my life so far!
Service was extremely impressive. They were polite but impressively efficient. The food was fantastic. I got the Surf n Turf and it was amazing. The desert was great. Didn’t expect the cheesecake to turn out as amazing as it did. The family and I had a great time.
Our server Connor was amazing! He made us feel so welcome and was so helpful with menu recommendations. The service and food were top notch and made my 50th birthday truly memorable.
I decided to try Morimoto's for dinner. I was in the mood for some steak and was thinking the A5 wagyu would be a nice treat. Yoon was my server, and he went through the menu since this was my first visit. He did a great job of explaining everything and his expertise added to the experience. I decided to get 5 ounces of the A5 wagyu, the sticky ribs, pork gyoza, and hot and sour soup. Yoon recommended a side of rice to counter some of the flavors, which was a great idea. He also recommended getting the wagyu first since the meat was a lighter flavor than the ribs. This was a great idea. The wagyu melted in my mouth. So amazingly good. You get a side dish with sauce and salt. The wagyu doesn't need any added flavor. I used the salt on a few pieces, and it was nice but wasn't really necessary. Don't overcook the wagyu, 5 seconds on each side was more than enough cooking time. The hot and sour soup was good. In my opinion, it needed a little more sour flavor. The sticky rib meat fell off the bone. It was delicious. The pork gyoza was the best I've ever had. The flavors in it were sublime. I really didn't have room for dessert but the chocolate entremet was calling my name. I'm not normally a fan of mousse. The texture is what I don't like, but this mousse dessert was amazing.chocolate. different degrees of chocolate flavor. Overall, this is more than 5 stars. Highly recommend eating here. Added bonus, I had 2 ribs and 2 gyoza and half the dessert leftover for lunch today. 💜💚
Nezi my waitress was amazing! Give her a raise! The food was off the charts. Black cod w Mac nuts was incredible! Come here for a great meal!
5 Stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for Chef Morimoto’s Restaurant Oahu Hawaii. Positive vibrations from the beginning to the end. Excellent! Excellent! Customer Service from my server Mr. Jeb and Ms. Nezie to Mr. Mark the host!🤩 Thank you so much for a wonderful culinary experience. It was magnanimous! The Peking duck!🤩😍🤩😍Wow! delicious and top 5 must have!
wonderful experience. our server chris was awesome and brought great energy to the meal. generally the staff is very friendly. food was delicious. ordered shrimp pad thai, black pepper beef, and green beans
Loved it here! We were dining and the food was great! I had the seabass and my husband had pepper beef - both meals were superb! And the best part - Christopher who was serving us was super friendly and we had a lovely chat!
Everything was fantastic! Marimoto has a great view of the water and the atmosphere couldn’t be better for date night. To top things off, our server Yoon was amazing. He gave a thorough description of the menu and specials. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate our anniversary.
Amazing food. The service was awesome & the restaurant was clean. We ordered the orange chicken & fried rice for entree. For the app we got these bomb pork ribs. However we both almost crapped ourselves from the pork (not the restaurant's fault) & we had to run back to our hotel room but honestly it was so worth it.
Best hot and sour soup ever tasted. Best strip steak and worth every penny @ $160. Best cheesecake ever ste and it was not similar to any other cheesecake I ever tasted. My wife's filet was over the top. Whiskey flight and sake...wew in every respect.
This place is wonderful. Antony our server was the best!! He was able to give us a secret vegetarian option and the tofu with black pepper tofu (replaced for beef) stands out. Special thanks to the souf chef for preparing the vegetarian options!! A must visit and we will do as well!!
Service was great. Atmosphere was hot and humid as they opened the walls to the beach. Traffic was loud. Music was good. Quick food overview. Get the Sticky ribs... Period. Get 4. Avoid the Surf and Turf roll... They torch it and then it tastes like the torch. Not worth it. It's an ok roll. Meh. Get the Wagyu ribeye It's not A5, so go medium rare. It's expensive, but good. You can't get the happy hour Saketini in the restaurant, only at the bar. Lycheetini is a great substitute. Sake flight is fun... But not really worth it. They have Longboard... Get that. Was instructed to avoid Pad Thai - I don't know why.... But you may want to uphold that (or not.) Green beans went well with the ribeye - recommended. Dessert... Get the sphere for the show...Get the cheesecake for the taste.
The staffs are very nice and welcoming. The food was good. I love my surf and turf sushi roll the most. Had the Flaming Chocolate and it was amazing. The location is fantastic as it is in the heart of Waikiki and can see the water.
Spicy chicken dumplings and the fish carpacio were awesome. Shrimp pad Thai was well balanced and not too sweet but needed some heat and no chili service offered nor did anyone check in after I was served each course. Service was good but not exceptional. Street noise and smoke from the hot plate cooking at tables was a bit much
Elevated fusion. Generally good and some dishes were superb. The hamachi rice bowl was a treat and their take on duck was delicious. Nice to get thin cuts of meat along with the skin. The ribs were amazing.
My sis and I were fans of Morimoto since we were little. However, where we live does not have his restaurant so we never had the chance to try. We just happened to come to Hawaii for a trip and notice he has a restaurant here so we decided to book a table from OpenTable. The only time slot available was 8:30pm, which we thought was quite late. Anyway, we still decide to go for it as it has been our dream to try out our favorite iron chef's dishes.... We went into the restaurant at 8:30pm and was surprised that there were actually not too many people (if we had known, we'd probably have gotten there earlier). The restaurant looks nice though and the server was super friendly. We ordered the tuna pizza, the A5 beef caprico and the Black Cod. The food came really quick, which was good because we were hungry. The tuna pizza was wonderful. The first bite was bursted with flavor that we love it immediately! However, the A5 beef caprico was so hard to chew and sour that I had to let our server know about our disappointment. The black cod was okay, though we expected more (my sis thinks the cod was a bit overcooked). At the end, our server took away our unfinished beef caprico and we ordered the Sticky Ribs instead. The ribs were good, although we still feel that the whole meal experience could have been better. We love our server Talis though as he's very patient in listening to our feedback and immediately took action to help improve our dining experience at the restaurant even though it's almost closing time. Because of the above, here's my ratings of this restaurant: Service - 5 Food - 4 (the A5 beef caprico is a real let down, although the tuna pizza and sticky ribs were good) Ambience - 4
We enjoyed a delightful dinner. The way dishes are presented is very artful, shows of fire abound. (We didn’t get, but the flaming chocolate sphere is one of the most impressive ones) The flavors were so perfectly matched, and greatly enhanced by sake. This was a great experience.
We had a good experience at Morimoto overall. The BBQ ribs and the garlic shrimp really stood out — both dishes were full of flavor and definitely the highlight of the meal. The fried rice, however, wasn’t our favorite and didn’t quite compare to the other dishes. Service was okay — pretty standard, nothing bad, but nothing particularly memorable either. Still a solid spot, especially if you go for the ribs and shrimp.
Our server checked on us just one time. We were waiting and they brought out my main dish 20 minutes before they brought out our apitizers. Then then bring our rice bowls out last. We are Asian, eating Asian food, we eat rice with everything. Why is it coming out last? Our server introduced herself while she told the couple sitting 3 feet away from us that she has to get an order in she forgot. She checked in on us just one time the whole night. What a bad experience.
The location is great, but the seabass was a bit of a letdown. It came out dry and not as flavorful as I’d hoped—I feel like I could’ve done a better job myself. The duck dish skin wasn’t crispy, and the dish overall was a bit too oily. That said, the overall dining experience was pleasant, but it’s important to note that if you want a table with an ocean view, you’ll need to specify that in your reservation. Without requesting it, you’re unlikely to get one.
Upscale atmosphere with stunning views of Waikiki are Morimoto’s highlights. Their orange chicken & miso soup was average, especially for the price point. Overall it’s a decent spot in Waikiki.
Decent atmosphere inside, not in lounge area, the food was fresh but ok tasting for what you pay. We got the sushi rolls along with friend rice and the orange chicken plate, edamame for appetizers. It was not dress up place at all, most people we saw wore jeans or shorts with sandals.
Disappointing overall, extra disappointing as a Morimoto restaurant. Our experiences at some of his other locations in Vegas and Orlando have always been great, this restaurant unfortunately disappointed on food, service and atmosphere. The kampachi was good, everything else we ordered was below average at best. The vegetables with tofu had zero flavor and didn’t match the description on the menu. I believe there were two tiny pieces of asparagus, a few pieces of tofu and the rest was almost all cabbage. The duck was very fatty and the skin wasn’t crispy enough. We also found it very strange that they serve the duck with thick doughy tortillas instead of the traditional thin Peking duck wraps or steamed buns. And this is from someone who LOVES tortillas. But these tortillas are terrible, and not at all the correct vehicle for roast duck. Whatever you do, don’t order the sorbet. It’s literally in a paper cup like something you’d buy at a convenience store. And, the cups our sake were poured in to smelled like old fish. And when we asked for new cups and a fresh bottle our waiter acted like he did us some under the table favor to get us a fresh bottle without charging us twice. With all the incredible Asian food options in Waikiki, this place is a hard pass for me.
We are here for our honeymoon & excited about eating here, however, it didn’t live up to expectations. It was disappointing to learn our food would come out as it was prepared and not as a full meal. We had our fried rice for quite some time before receiving our orange chicken. The orange chicken was over sauced when it came and it took the server about 10 mins to bring us soy sauce. Our waiter didn’t even offer to refill our iced teas. Overall service was slow and the restaurant is not full. The rice and sticky ribs were just okay. 3 out of 10 would not recommend. OVERPRICED @ $92 for those items
Was incredibly excited to try Morimoto - we flew in across the country with this being one of our top spots on our list. unfortunately our service ruined the experience. You could tell how quality and flavorful the meal would have been. The server recommended we ordered a few things to share - Our experience: We ordered a $160 A5 Waygu Steak and a few small plates for a small group of 3 of us. Very short and rude service where they essentially did the exact opposite of everything we asked for. They neglected to bring us any silverware by the time we received the steak and small plates. It took them more than five minutes to check on us and we told them we needed silverware - and they slowly came back with them a few minutes later. The steak and all of our dishes were incredibly cold by the time we were able to eat it. Not once were we asked if we needed anything or how our meal was so we could even ask for them to be reheated. They also did not bring us a main side dish for our meal and just didn’t acknowledge it. Even cold, the flavor or the food was very good. I’m sure this would have been a wonderful meal if the service was even remotely appropriate for a nice establishment. We all left feeling like this was one of the worst service experiences we’ve ever had.
