STRIPSTEAK Waikiki

It has now been two weeks since my boyfriend and I visited Stripsteak in Waikiki. We were only in Hawaii for a few days but our first experience here was so good we had to come back a second night. And it wasn't just the food that did it for us, it was the service too. Two weeks later and I still remember our server, Richard. He was simply the best, amusing conversation, quick service, and in one short night he made us feel so special and welcome we had to come back for a second where he introduced us to his very kind manager who's name I believe to be Bob. The second night was even more spectacular. Unbeknownst to us, they were featuring a specially curated four course meal crafted by Chef Michael Mina himself. This set menu was an incredible way to taste a variety of dishes served here. It was simply one of if not the best dining experience I have ever enjoyed. Everything was so decadent and flavourful and rich. My expectations were beyond exceeded, in cuisine, in atmosphere, and in service. I can not recommend this place enough!! Thank you to the staff here for making it such a magical experience!

Great experience at this restaurant. I tried the tasting menu and enjoyed it. There was more than enough food and I had to get leftovers even though I didn't even eat that day. The fries are a substitute for bread service but were definitely an upgrade. The location and atmosphere were excellent. The service was outstanding, the table was really well serviced by all the staff, among the best I've seen. The bathroom is nice too. The restaurant is expensive, but if you want a nice night out, this is definitely somewhere that's hard to beat. It reminds me of the Ocean Prime restaurant chain.

My wife and I are in from New Jersey celebrating our birthdays. Our waiter Jet is remarkably thoughtful, unobtrusive, and just a professional at his craft; makes you feel like a King and Queen for the night. Chef Garrick is gifted and consistent. He sent out salmon cannolis, and they were truly a transcendent morsel. The choice of indoor or outdoor dining is a plus and the interior designer has succeeded in crafting a comfortable space where you can relax feel comfortable and break bead. I don’t know how to cook, but I know how to eat and I’ve had access to excellent food in the Tri-State area all my life. Strip Steak is second to none and if you want an excellent overall experience you’ll make your way over for an unforgettable meal. And get the molten lava cake. It’s not like the others you’ve had…….😋 MB

If you are looking for that quintessential "vacation splurge" meal in Honolulu, Stripsteak at the International Market Place is it. I’ve been to my fair share of high-end steakhouses, but Michael Mina’s team here manages to blend that polished, sexy Vegas energy with a laid-back Hawaiian soul that just works. We started with the Instant Bacon, and honestly, the name doesn't do it justice. It’s glazed Kurobuta pork belly that practically melts before you even chew—total flavor bomb. One of the best "Mina-isms" is that they serve a trio of duck fat fries with different dipping sauces instead of a bread basket. It’s a dangerous game because you’ll want to finish them all before your steak even arrives. For the main event, I went with the Center-Cut Filet, and my wife had the Magi. Both were cooked to absolute perfection. You can really taste the quality of the Prime Certified Angus beef; it’s seasoned just enough to let the meat shine without being salty. We also grabbed a side of the truffle mac and cheese, which was decadent and creamy—definitely large enough to share. The ambiance is 10/10. We sat close to the outdoor lanai, which is perfect for catching the Waikiki breeze and people-watching on the Grand Lanai. The service was "aloha spirit" personified—attentive but not hovering. It’s definitely pricey (be prepared for a $150+ per person bill if you're doing drinks and multiple courses), but for a special occasion, it is worth every penny. Pro-tip: If you’re on a budget, their Happy Hour (4 PM – 6 PM) is legendary. You can get a high-end burger or the "Adult Happy Meal" for a fraction of the dinner price!

I’d give this place 10 stars if I could! It’s a hidden gem! Food was amazing!! Service was quick! But what got me the most was how quick they brought something for the kids to snack on to keep them quiet, and how fast they brought their food out. Going out to fancy places with kids could be risky but Stripsteak made it so easy for us! Staff was super friendly and kind too!

Service was outstanding. Al the staff and very nice an friendly. Some of the food items were outstanding like the Fries, Mac and Cheese, and miso soup. However, our main dish were terrible. Our upgraded dry aged wagyu was so tough I could barely chew it. The sea bass's sauce was way too sweet that you can no longer taste the fish.

This restaurant has a lively atmosphere that strikes the perfect balance between energy and comfort. The ambiance feels upscale and refined, yet never pretentious or overwhelming. The service was attentive without being intrusive — the staff checked in at just the right moments and were always accommodating to any requests. The jadoori chicken was especially good — flavorful, tender, and perfectly seasoned. The wagyu could’ve been better, but the oysters were fresh and delicious, and the drinks were decent and well-balanced. Overall, it’s a high-end dining experience that doesn’t feel pushy — just warm, polished, and enjoyable from start to finish.

Very friendly service. French fries was old. Taste like they refried it. Also taco was salty.

I ordered the filet medium-rare. It came back to the table clearly overcooked. The outsides were like leather. I showed it to the manager on duty who took it from the table. Didn't even make it to the kitchen came back and told me to cut it in the middle. So he could see it. And when I did, it was clearly overcooked and he said, well, I can go put it back on the grill. If you want and I said, but it's overcooked and he made such a big deal and everybody was staring, we had a party of 9. I decided I didn't want the attention. So I tried to send it back, but the manager refused to make me another steak. Another guest seated next to me at my table ordered the sea bass. It came in a bowl with a big chip in the bowl. She was concerned that the chip might be in her food. So she sent it back all they did was put the food in another bowl. So the chip could have still been in her food very, very unprofessional. I was surprised to see that. But there was a michelin chef at that restaurant.When I got home and looked it up. I didn't pay eighty one dollars for a piece of meat that I could only eat.Half of. What's more disappointing is the manager refused to recook my.Steak and tried to tell me that I was wrong.Not a good look

We dined at Strip Steak by Michael Mina for thanksgiving. They had a set menu (3 course meal) for $129++/person. The food was terrible for the price we paid! I know it’s Thanksgiving and they may be short on kitchen staff but I don’t think any self respecting chef would charge that much for a meal that was prepared hours in advance. Members of our party ordered a variety of meals. The filet mignon was probably cooked in the afternoon and was sitting in a food warmer for hours. Same goes for the Wagyu steak that required a supplemental charge. I had the Chilean sea bass and was hoping they’d cook it fresh unlike the steak, but no luck, it was just as bad. If I want a pre-cooked and reheated meal, I could have done that at home. We ate at Strip Steak 2 years ago on Thanksgiving day and had the same exact experience. Never again! Michael Mina, consider serving beef bourguignon or Prime rib next time if you prefer to serve pre-cooked meals.
