Came in on a Saturday with friends for lunch and three Beast food challenges. The manager was cool and had an area for us to sit since it was 10 of us. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Food was pretty good. As far as the challenge goes, all three participants failed miserably. They all had fun tho.

We hosted our wedding party dinner here and had a wonderful experience. The service was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and professional. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish tasting fresh and full of flavor. The private party room created the perfect atmosphere for celebrating with our family and friends. We truly enjoyed our time and are grateful for the memorable evening. Highly recommended!

Have only been here a handful of times but it’s a great experience every time. American style restaurant menu options but their flavors are very unique! The mesquite smoked twist to everything is superbbbbb. The customer service is amazing every time, it’s an incredible family setting, it seems like all customers are regulars, and there is a reason for that. We were greeted at the door, our waiter was very attentive, and even all the other waiters pitch in and help, too. Food is always 10/10. The wait time isn’t that bad as seen below on other reviews, but if it ever is, it’s worth it for the quality of the food.

This was such a cute place! We were visiting from outta town and had a hankerin for a chicken fried steak. If you want a good home comfort food, this is the place! Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and fun live music. Good prices and so many options. I very much recommend it!!

My wife and I came over here tonight to have dinner. I hadn’t been here in a couple of years, so I was curious to see if the fried catfish was as good as I remember it being. I was not disappointed. The green beans were also awesome, as were the sweet potato fries. My wife had the Honey glazed jalapeño salmon with mushrooms and sweet potato fries. Both meals were fantastic and we even got to see our friends Samantha, who works there.

Oh my good Lord, maker of all things & provider of all talents... You outdid yourself with The Backyard Grill! The atmosphere, service & food were ALL a 10/10... And in all my 50 years, I have NEVER said that about a restaurant before now. I got a couple good photos of our food, but sadly, we tore into the spinach dip & before I could stop long enough to take a photo, we had eaten half. 🤣🤷‍♀️ The prices are very reasonable and the portions you get are well worth the money. You definitely need to flag this on your maps as a place to try if you're ever in the area of 2920/1960. Burgers... Sandwiches...soups/salads... Fajitas... Fish... And more! Such a variety ... there's a dish for every picky eater in your family. Indoor seating feels like you're outdoors--complete with a giant fake tree in the middle of the restaurant, and tons of outdoor seating as well--compete with a small sandbox for the little ones. HUGE BONUS--- Pet-friendly inside & out!! We took our puppy with us today and (naturally) kept him in his carrier, and the staff was so loving toward him. We will definitely be going back. ❤️

Being in the neighborhood, I decided to give this place a try. From the street, it has that classic, casual "beer and a ballgame" vibe, and the interior doesn't disappoint. The decor is designed to mimic the outdoors, creating a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of booths, tables, and a full-service bar in the back. The Experience Since it was my first visit, I was greeted with complimentary chips and salsa. While the chips were perfectly crisp and the salsa was served warm (a nice touch), the salsa was very mild and lacked the "kick" or spice I usually look for. The service was a highlight—the staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure I was taken care of throughout the meal. The Food The menu is massive, making it a great spot for groups because there is truly something for everyone. I went with the Chicken Fried Steak. Portion & Value: I ordered the "small" lunch portion, which was surprisingly generous and very reasonably priced. The Steak: Cooked perfectly with a satisfyingly crunchy batter. The Sides: It came with "garlic" mashed potatoes and toast. The potatoes had a great texture (skins-on and chunky), but I couldn't taste any garlic. The toast was perfectly browned but arrived dry; it definitely needed butter. Final Verdict Overall, it was a solid experience with good food and a welcoming environment. While some of the seasonings were a bit shy (specifically in the salsa and potatoes), the quality of the cooking was high. I’ll definitely be back to try one of their flame-grilled burgers, as they looked excellent on the menu!

We were there for Mother's Day. It was very elegant inside with the Tree. My son was running late so we lost our 1st waitress. We got a New Waiter and He was AWESOME! The Food and Drinks were Fantastic. Thank you Kids it was Great!

I just tried this place for the first time. The atmosphere was nice in the staff was very friendly. The appetizer we ordered was delicious that I was not as happy with my meal that I got. I do not recommend the pecan crusted chicken as it's not actually crusted it's just chicken with some sort of gravy and sweet pecans laid on top of it. I would be willing to try to go back but next time will be definitely ordering something different.

The Backyard Grill has a great ambiance of a tree inside the restaurant. This crowd that comes in here feels like they’re regulars. That’s pretty nice. The one downside is that’s it’s popular so be ready to wait for your drinks and food even when it’s not crowded. We enjoyed our food and will come back to try out their other dishes.

My family and I had a great time at the backyard grill. Has a great family and fun ambiance. With the cozy wood, big tree in the middle, and plenty of tvs to enjoy sports games. The menu has a large selection of food and drinks + full bar. We had the opportunity to eat “the beast” the 4 lbs burger challenge they offer! super fun for our group! We especially the crispy fried pickled and their fries. Highly recommend this spot for some good american food.

This was my first time here and I loved it! Came with my bf and FIL, we all got burgers and everything came exactly as ordered. The burger had excellent grilled flavor and the fries were just as tasty. I did get a bit irked that almost the whole restaurant was empty yet they sat a party RIGHT next to us and it felt awkward since it was very quiet in there. The waitress was a young woman with dark hair and she was very sweet and chill, I think she could’ve been a little more attentive since there wasn’t much going on in there but she was still great. I appreciate very much the quality of their to-go packaging. We all got fresh drinks in plastic cups and I got a nice black heavy duty plastic box to put my leftovers in. Little stuff like that impresses me because most restaurants tend to cheap out with everything being styrofoam so to me it tells me this place cares more. Definitely will be coming back!

Took the whole family to Backyard Grill and had a mixed experience. The kids were happy — one loved the steak from the kids’ menu, another couldn’t get enough of the wings, and the third devoured her chicken tenders. Fries weren’t a hit with any of them, though. My husband and I tried the crawfish 🦞— and unfortunately, it wasn’t our favorite. It came covered in seasoning that had our mouths on fire, but somehow the crawfish itself had no flavor once peeled. Just plain and bland. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was casual and fun, but the food was hit or miss for us.

The food was great. The prices were great. The burger was super good, and I really enjoyed the mild salsa and chips. I liked all the beers on tap, too. The restaurant was cool but "grimy" like, my table was sticky and the toilet was leaking water, with dirty foot prints all over and when I let someone know they said "oh its been like that." The staff, so, we accidentally came in the side door. I've never been there before. A guy seemed annoyed walked us through the restaurant (it was mostly empty mind you) to the front where another person walked us back through, past all the empty tables and booths and sat us right next to the kitchen doors. For example, restaurant 101 tells me that this is the "seat last" spot. Then our waitress was nice but irritated. we needed a moment to read the menu and then was not familiar with what was on tap when I asked about the different beers and ciders. (Do not get the apple pumpkin cider, I don't know why they even offer it lol) I personally love a good wheat beer and the occasional cider, but dang, it was like apple juice with cloves dumped in. Anyway, maybe we just got unlucky with it being late lunch or whatnot, but I like eating out for the experience, and this experience made us feel like we were an annoyance being there more than a guest.
