This was my first time enjoying this fabulous establishment. Every piece of sushi here felt like a quiet mic drop. Impeccable fresh, clean, and balanced. They create the kind of meal that makes you change your standards. The charred spicy edamame is to die for, while i recommend you be careful because the drinks go down dangerously easy. Just pure and absolute mastery from the food to the atmosphere. This place left me thinking about the meal for days and can't wait till I can get back to enjoy it again.
Met my young adult daughters after work for lite bites and cocktails. Was my first visit but, I will definitely go back! Enjoyed the happy hour menu items and cocktails. Not a sushi connoisseur- but Blue Sushi Saki made me a sushi enthusiast!
If you’re looking for top-tier sushi, Blue Sushi Sake Grill is hands down the best. The sushi is always incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, and packed with flavor. Every roll tastes like it was made with real care and high-quality ingredients. The service is consistently great — friendly, attentive, and efficient. Even when they’re busy, the food comes out fast, which makes the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. And their happy hour? Easily the best around. The menu has amazing deals without sacrificing quality, making it the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy some of the best sushi in town. If you love fresh sushi, great service, and unbeatable happy hour specials, this is your place.
Love the whole vibe of this place. Food was great, atmosphere was great and service was great. Only complaint was the wait for a table after having a reservation for a big party a head of time. And making our party of 14 wait almost 40 minutes past our resy. ~When a day before, they had to move our reservation up 30 minutes to accommodate adding an extra person to the party a day prior.
The entire dining experience, from the hostess to the waitstaff, was exceptional, and the sushi was outstanding. Having sampled around five to six sushi restaurants in Houston, I can confidently say this establishment stands out as the best in terms of flavor. Executive Chef Mike took the time to personally recommend dishes and provide detailed explanations, a level of engagement I have not encountered before. My respect for Chef Mike is immense, and I urge Michelin inspectors to visit this remarkable venue.
Amazing! I very much enjoyed my meal here. The service is great, ambiance is nice for any occasion such as family gathering, meeting with friends, a date, etc. The happy hour and overall value of the whole meal is something I raved about after my meal and I'll definitely come back. Point 1: Happy hour is basically all day at this point.. 11AM - 6:30 PM is a great timeframe! Point 2: Good prices - I ordered 5 items and total bill came out to be $35. Point 3: It was $35 because the server took one item off the bill because of slow service (which wasn't even too slow) Now, the food: 1) Mango Crab Rangoons - good, nice crispy outside, wish there was more filling though. It was more crispy outside than inner filling. Still a good bite though. 2) Crispy rice - this was yummy, sweet spicy mayo, good spicy tuna mixture on top, crispy chew rice bottom 3) Cherry bomb - wouldn't get this one again, very similar to the crispy rice although on the menu it is a "nigiri". Good BIG piece of tuna on the top, but the bottom is crispy fried rice not really the typical sushi rice. 4) Lion King - this roll was yummy 5) Tidal Wave - also yummy, but both rolls tasted pretty similar The rolls are good and solid, but they do remind me of each other. More of that ayce sweet spicy mayo and eel sauce combo taste (if you know what I mean). Nevertheless still yummy just not very fish forward. Overall I give it 5 stars because of the experience I had there and because all the food was yummy. No bad bites.
Had a really great first experience at Blue Sushi! All of our food came out quickly, delicious and fresh. The atmosphere is really cool, a cool and unique vibe and lighting. Our server Trent was fantastic. Came just frequent enough, had good recommendations and was thoughtful in allergy considerations. Will definitely be coming back.
I ended up coming here after trying to go to RA sushi in Highland Village and having a really bad experience. I was so glad that we chose to come here instead! We've done Galentine's here before a few years ago, and we had a really amazing experience (I order on Uber eats frequently too). The crab curry soup is an absolute must if you like curry, it is very mild. I've honestly never really had anything bad from here and I'm a big sushi person. Our service was also great even though we had a bit of a wait to be seated. Honestly, I have no complaints, food's good, service is good, everything good!! And HH all day on Sundays?!?
Came here with friends tried the Hawaiian Roll, Cabo Roll, Coconut Crab Soup, Charred Edamame, sea Urchins and eel. All were great, eel and salmon truffle had small portions. Most had small portions, eel I understand but $12 for five thin pieces of salmon was disappointing. Overall atmosphere was great though. Outdoor seating is in a covered area so that was plus. Food was so good only took 1 photo
Went there for the first time on a friday night and was not disappointed. Restaurant seemed busy when we got there around 7 pm and altough we were told that the wait time was about 30 mins we were able to get seated within 15 mins at the sushi bar. The place is beautifully decorated and has nice ambiance. Altough it was very busy, our server was very friendly and was still able to provide good service and great recommendations. The sushi was phenomenal and their cocktails were really good too. All in all, it was a great experience and would definitely come back over and over again.
First and def not my last visit. Food was delicious. We went during lunch, so the portions weren't that big. But def sufficient. Our server was polite & timely. There's not much to say except that it was an overall win. Parking was my only hangup. And GPS found it difficult getting me to the right spot.
Glad I dropped by once again for lunch w friends. This joint has grown on me since it’s opened and I think it’s because they’ve gotten better w time to settle in. I definitely recommend sushi, sashimi and rolls shared w friends here as that really is their sweet spot n my opinion. I enjoy their hot tea offerings and I really like the kick that their wasabi packs…it’s got bang and I like that. I will have to stop by for dinner sometime to sample their sake offerings. Prices are reasonable for the offerings here, service much improved and friendly, and just a tip that u may have to hunt for parking now that MKT is hopping.
Love this spot! Always come here when I’m craving a good sushi outing. They have plenty of options - raw and cooked - and they’re all very fresh. I most recently came here for Sunday brunch (which is all day happy hour) with my fiancée, and had the Cherry Bomb nigiri, Lion King and Roja rolls. They were all fantastic! My fiancée ordered the Shitake To Me and Thai Hippie rolls and the Unami nigiri. We also ordered the crispy Brussels Sprouts app. Everything was very delicious. You can really taste the freshness of their ingredients. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for delicious sushi!
Had Andrew as our waiter (WONDERFUL, attentive, honest and knowledgeable) definitely recommend asking for him when you go in! Food here has so much depth in flavor, ready for an experience, come on down you won’t regret it. Bathrooms were clean and plenty of seating for small or large parties!
I've visited a few times and have consistently good and intentional service. The wait staff are knowledgeable about the menu items, offer recommendations that make sense, and are very pleasant. The ambiance of this space is elevated, and it's clean, inviting, and nicely adorned. The food is top notch for the price. The sushi, especially the nigiri and sashimi, is fresh and flavorful. Nothing else to say except, stay the way you are Blue Sushi!
Overall we had a good experience. The atmosphere is the best thing, it is very modern and fun. Food was good but we mainly liked 2/5 rolls we got. Is recommend the spicy red and the shrimp tempura rolls. The others weren't bad just not as good as other sushi places. It is moderately priced $8-16 a roll. The miso soup was awesome and parking lot was convenient and there are a lot of fun things to explore around the area. Great place to stop for date night The service was pretty lack luster. Our server came by 3 times and we never got refills (this was tough when ibtried thebspicy gringo roll which if youd likenspicy youd love). He seemed nice and friendly but just wasn't very attentive.
Pretty nice sushi spot in the heights area. Sushi can be tough competition if you don’t get it right but our experience went well! Wasn’t a fan of the cold sake but that may have just been my personal mood of the day and not necessarily because it wasn’t any good. Everything we had tastes great! The tuna tataki was fresh and flavorful. Had the San Marcos, the Hot Popper, and the Thriller. All super tasty! I went with the carrot ginger dressing for my salad and it was so good! Had to ask for more dressing on the side! I also like the slice of cucumber in the water. Definitely helps cleanse the palate.
Walked at 9:20 and everybody was cleaning/ closing down. Nobody in the restaurant, when I said “for one” the front desk people looked at each other. So I just got it to go, then was charged a “packaging fee” The sushi tasted good but I feel it could had been better if the atmosphere didn’t close at 9pm.
Greetings, I typically enjoy a Sunday happy hour, however, this time was different. Seated outside at 2:30 and didn’t get waited on until 2:55. Hostess came out and said “she forgot to send a waiter.” I would’ve been ok with 10 minutes (even that’s very generous) but nearly 30 is absolutely terrible. Food still tasty, but I was expecting my bill to be compensated greatly, not just 2 items comped (house salad&truffle salmon). I spoke directly to the manager but the bill still came out to 41.41. I could’ve easily left but decided to stay. Wait staff has gotten lackadaisical as I have been coming here for over a year at this point. If I’m going to spend money at this establishment, professionalism and understanding from customers should be priority.
Absolutely terrible! Barely put any salmon on my Philadelphia- i can see rice through. You had to put your work into to make it THAT thin? So customer gats nothing? Is that the way you make profit? Well , good luck selling rolled rice for 20$. I used to be regular on Doordash , but never again. I dont even going argue with you guys, you got your deserved zero star. Good luck.
My coworker and I decided to try this spot for happy hour, and unfortunately, the customer service was shockingly poor. We had high hopes, which made the experience even more upsetting. We initially sat at the bar and were served by a bartender named Michelle, who immediately made us feel uncomfortable. When she finally approached us, instead of greeting us kindly, she snapped, “You have four minutes,” in a rude and dismissive tone before walking away. The price was never the issue—her attitude and lack of basic hospitality were alarming, especially for what appears to be a nice establishment. Because of how uncomfortable we felt, we asked the host to move us to another area so she would no longer be our server. Even after being moved, Michelle continued to look over at us repeatedly and give us nasty looks while we were eating, which made us feel extremely uncomfortable and honestly unsafe just trying to enjoy our meal. Unfortunately, the service did not improve. Our new server dropped off water glasses that were visibly dirty and stained. There was no apology. He didn’t return to the table until happy hour had already ended and then told us we could no longer order from the happy hour menu—despite the fact that we had tried to order earlier and explained the situation calmly. He reluctantly allowed one order but told us we could not order anything else from that menu. The entire situation was saddening. We were treated in a truly horrible manner by multiple staff members, and at no point did we receive a sincere apology. When we spoke to the manager, she resolved the issue by taking $10 off the bill. While this wasn’t about the money at all, the gesture felt insulting given how uncomfortable and disrespected we were made to feel. To make matters worse, even after speaking with the manager, the bartender continued to give us dirty looks. This experience left us feeling unwelcome and disappointed. We came in hoping for a relaxing happy hour and instead left feeling uncomfortable, upset, and shocked by the lack of professionalism.
