Dine in order carry out options. Very friendly staff. All our chicken orders were still very crispy and flavorful. Not a fan of the soup. A lot of mushrooms in the sweet and sour soup and the egg drop had an additional spice I wasn't a fan of. Still good, just not my style. They're able to make the orange chicken with no spice and it still kept its flavor.
The lunch special are reasonable fair price. They give you a lot of food for the price. The hot & sour is bomb! I even got a bigger portion of soup togo. Food came out quick too.
SIKE MADE U LOOK!!! If I could give zero stars, I would! To start, the phone rep was not knowledgeable able menu items. Put him in a different station, not answering the phone. Also if a customer wants sesame chkn and rice but wants to substitute the rice for Lo mein, they should be able to do that. The guy on the phone had no idea what I was trying to request and in my frustration of going back and forth, I just ordered the sesame chkn with fried rice. BAD DECISION!!! The fried rice was literally brown rice! Not fried, no egg, no veggies, no flavor!!! Looked they spray a whole bunch of soy sauce on the rice and served it. The sesame chkn was full of batter no chkn. It made me gag bc it was so doughy-like. Then the sauce for the chkn was so soupy that it made an already doughy entree soggy. I threw the entire meal away!!! I was craving some good Chinese food but this was not what quenched the desire whatsoever! I won’t be back, sorry not sorry.
I’m here to review China sticks the Holcombe location, I ordered the house fried rice, beef and broccoli, eggrolls, egg drop soup and the portions were just like on instagram HUGEEE ! It was worth driving from spring Tx. I was offered a complementary general tso chicken and that had to be my favorite thing. It was lightly breaded, super saucy tangy, and sweet crispy and amazing. I definitely will be back. I’m from Chicago so they do the fried rice just like I like it nice and brown like me lol. The restaurant on a Wednesday was very cozy and seating is plenty. I enjoyed the staff and they’re friendly greetings and their hospitality. It was date night so come on out and enjoy yourself. Parking was in front.
Me and my daughter wanted to try out this restaurant and I felt the vibes in this establishment. It was very clean on the inside. You get great portion size. The food came out VERY FAST!!! The rice made me feel like I was back home in STL(minus the vegetables). Everything was seasoned and cooked well. We’ll definitely add this to one of our favorite restaurants!!!
I ordered 4 entrées: sweet & sour chicken, house lo mein w/beef instead of pork, beef fried rice, and shrimp fried rice w/crawfish... hands down the best take out Chinese food I've had in Houston. Good portions, flavor, and fast service. Shrimp fried rice had large shrimp and they were not stingy. The house lo mein was so flavorful and overloaded with meat. The restaurant itself is well maintained and clean and the cashier was very nice. I came here after viewing an IG reel and I'm glad my husband found and shared the post with me. We will be coming here for chinese food from now on. Looking forward to trying some other dishes including their vegetarian options.
Intro: the food is good, but those chicken wings are fire! Pros: -the chicken wings (red chicken) is amazing. Some of the best chicken wings I have ever eaten. -the food was clean and presentation was nice. -the price was reasonable -seasoned food correctly. Sweet and sour was good. Cons: -the shrimp fried rice was bland but it did have nice portion of shrimp Overall: I recommend
We enjoyed the service and quality of the food. The lunch special General Tso's chicken was very good. My wife got the chicken, shrimp and beef mandarin style, it may have been slightly better...both great. We both got the wonton soup and they were really tasty, the broth had a lot of flavor, the noodles were slightly al dente....just the way I like them. The egg rolls that came with each meal were small and average. They keep a lot of condiments on each table during the meal, I like not having to ask for Chinese mustard, hoisin sauce, soy.......Order at the counter and they bring it to you....we'll be back.
I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and food at China Stix. Once inside everyone is taking Covid-19 precautions, they are constantly cleaning, and the staff are working over and above to get you in and out quickly. I counted 10 people behind the visible counter (see photo - four cooks/prep, three bagging/plating, two working the tills, one constantly cleaning), and the food comes out hot and quick - I've yet to be more than ten minutes from walking in the door, and back out again with hot, fresh food. The quality of the food is excellent. A dinner order of sweet and sour chicken was enough to re-plate and feed two people easily, plus they offer combo deals with soup and spring rolls every lunchtime. A very thin crispy batter, well-cooked moist chicken, sauce on the side, and perfect steamed rice. Highly recommend, and my grateful thanks for their efforts to feed us during these unprecedented times.
Great food and fast take out order. Only thing I didn’t like is 8 dollars for a wontons for only like 4 of them. You can go somewhere else cheaper and get more than 5 for less
The lady at the front counter does weird faces at you when you try to change something or have her repeat something cause the music is full blast at the front so its difficult to order. Pretty rude, the combo special is expensive for what it is honestly and the food is very... subpar. The chicken they use is low quality, the sauce is SUPER SWEET (i ordered the sesame chicken which had no sesame seeds on it btw) the wonton soup was the best thing they served me but its so little. The egg roll was okay but generic. Maybe the people around here have grown accustomed to their taste and dont mind it anymore but from an outsiders perspective..mall chinese food is better even if it does give you the runs.
I've been buying from this restaurant for years, but a few years ago they started making the orders really badly. This time I went and ordered two rice dishes, one without egg. I specifically asked for a little oil, and before they did it very well, but now they use way too much oil, making it too dark. I used to recommend this place, but now I really don't.
Food was disgusting! They don't follow instructions and gave me food im allergic to! I called to place an order , told them I don't want chicken in the house fried rice and to give me beef. They charge me an extra $3.25 yet still did not give me beef and gave me chicken which I'm allergic to and told them I was. Also the shrimp in the house fried rice is frozen and small popcorn shrimp and not like other shrimp shown in the fried rice on the pictures. Don't waste your time or your money. Food in person did not match the food shown on other pictures online. They seem to use whatever ingredients they have. I would NOT recommend
