Lenora the GM and Elyse our server took exceptional care of me and my date. They just earned two new regulars. Beautiful patio and great food. Had the bolognese and the brussels sprout pizza. For dessert we enjoyed the pistachio chocolate rum cake. Already planning our trip back!
Great wine & great food. The service and atmosphere were great! I will definitely be back to try everything else on the menu I didn’t get to order.
I went out to Coltivare for a girls night and it did not disappoint. The waitress was very knowledgable and gave us great recommendations from the food to the wine. The atmosphere was a little loud, but not loud enough where you can’t face a conversation. The dishes all have a range of unique and great flavors. I do like that the plates are small which makes it easy to share. We will definitely be coming back.
Coltivare is a reliable, stand out, delicious meal every time. When so many of Houston’s best have left us, Coltivare is a treasure of complex flavors that complement super fresh ingredients without being overpowered by salt. The sleeper on the menu is their salsa verde that you can order with their focaccia. It’s so easy to pass up the bread course when you want to order pasta and pizza but what you do not consider is how life changing the salsa verde will be. It’s the best version of a chimichurri you will ever have in your life. And there will be leftovers which are killer on some eggs in the morning. Life changing. Try it.
Joined friends for holiday celebration last night! Food was great, and waitress Angel was even better! She understood the assignment when it came to us! First time there, and will definitely be back. Outdoor seating was comfortable, and pricing was great as well!
This evening, I had the pleasure of visiting Ryan Pera, one of my favorite individuals and chefs, at Coltivare in the Heights. My appreciation for exceptional food and the chance to visit with Ryan are the reasons I choose to dine here. Tonight's experience was outstanding, with exceptional service and engagement from Rebecca and the staff, which is what makes a restaurant truly special for its guests.
I’m usually not the biggest fan of Italian food, but this restaurant was banging. A great varied menu that has something for everybody and excellent seasonal cocktails as well. The boar pasta dish I tried I would definitely get again, and if I got a drink again I would ask for a club soda to water it down once more 😊 fantastic service for a medium fancy restaurant!
Loved the vibe at Coltivare. It’s such a great spot to hang out outside. The place feels charming but still delivers on amazing food. Andrea was super friendly and helpful. You’ve got to try the Ava Crowder cocktail, the golden beet salad, and the mussels, so fresh and full of flavor. Definitely coming back, next time I’m trying the pizza!
I didn’t think we needed a reservation on a Wednesday but we should have gotten one! Thankfully they were accommodating and were able to seat us (party of 2) for a limited-time table before another reservation came in. This has been on my list to try for SO long and I can’t believe I haven’t made it there before. I will absolutely be back. Everything we had was fresh, flavorful, and well balanced. We had the cauliflower (10/10), burrata (what you would expect, but amazing), black pepper spaghetti (7/10, good but nothing legendary, what you expect), and the meatballs (really good!!!). Great atmosphere and service. Look forward to trying it again soon!
Okay, how have I not been here before? What a neat joint that is much more than just a pizza bistro? Simple, lively space, and our service was helpful and friendly. Bar has some original craft offerings that add to the uniqueness of their compact menu. Everyone loved their pizza as the ingredients were solid. I tried the stuffed house pasta and enjoyed the light, savory broth to pair with the perfect cauliflower for sharing. Will be back to dine at the bar and explore more of everything! Parking is a bit tight in this area so recommend ride share on peak evenings. Bring a friend to share multiple offerings.
We had a very good experience at Coltivare. The food was truly excellent. Our orders of spaghetti, meatballs, grilled chicken, and roasted cauliflower were all expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. And the crostata for dessert was a good recommendation by our waiter. The atmosphere was lively and vibrant, with a high energy that added to the excitement of our meal. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and provided great service throughout the evening. Overall, Coltivare is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious Italian cuisine and a fun, energetic dining experience.
Intended to come here for a group dinner but the rest of the group canceled so my husband and I came for a date night instead. It has been at least two years since we dined here last and we certainly won’t wait another two years to come back. They didn’t always take reservations, but I am so happy that they do now! We were asked to wait in the garden when we arrived at the restaurant but our table was ready within 10 minutes. Our server gave great recommendations and all of the dishes we shared really hit the spot. We had the charred broccoli salad, grilled cabbage, bolognese and the broccoli pizza. Our only slight misstep was the pizza. It was very good but I think we both just assumed it would have mozzarella in addition to the feta listed on the menu. Our mistake and not theirs but I do prefer a cheesier pizza. Service and ambiance were both great and we were glad we ended up keeping the reservation when our friends had to cancel.
Beautiful and delicious fresh food, beautiful ambiance and garden. And the mocktails were really good as well! It takes a while to get a reservation but definitely worth it. The charred broccoli salad had lots of flavor. The stuffed pasta was absolutely yummy and the sauce had deep flavor
I have been following this restaurant since it opened on the internet. I am so glad I finally made it to Coltivare for dinner.\nI will start with the only negative thing and it is lack of parking. \n…

My friends and I wanted some pizza and we went into this restaurant. They really make very rich and super tasty pizzas.
Came here for Valentine’s Day dinner with my bf and our waiter was friendly and really helpful giving us recommendations on what food was popular or might be a good option, we got got good seats sitting in front of the chefs cooking pizza and they had a lovely bar.
Wow, wow, wow! Tried this place for the first time during Houston Restaurant Weeks and it did not disappoint. The service was incredible! We walked in without a reservation on a busy evening and were still accommodated. They let us know up front how long we could have the table, but it was more than enough time. The kitchen was quick. Our waiter was super attentive and knew the menu front to back. I’m kicking myself for forgetting his name, but he had locs! The trout might have been the best fish I’ve ever had. The chicken was just okay. The chocolate panna cotta was soooo good! It was definitely lively in there, not yelling at the top of your lungs loud, but don’t expect a whispery, romantic conversation either lol. I’ll definitely be back!
I’ve been wanting to try this spot since I moved into the neighborhood almost 2 years ago but never found the time. Yesterday I was craving pizza and all my go-to’s were closed, so I decided to give Coltivare a try and have to say this place is now added to my rotation. Good ingredients, simple and tasty dough, not super crispy (most places end up burning the dough and I dislike that) and a very straightforward ordering process over the phone. Would have added a bit more cheese but I think that’s just a personal preference.
Coltivare delivers cozy-chic Italian with dishes that pop. Grab a patio table on a nice night. if you haven’t snagged a reservation, expect a wait. The sausage appetizer, the fig appetizer great as first starts. gnocchi, black-pepper pasta, and wood-fired pizzas are the hits, backed by a solid red-wine list. Parking’s a headache, so Uber in and focus on the food and warm neighborhood vibe instead!
I’ve visited this restaurant more than three times, and each experience has been delightful. The food consistently impresses, featuring a variety of flavorful dishes that cater to different tastes. The service has also been noteworthy; the staff is attentive and friendly, ensuring that your dining experience is enjoyable from start to finish. However, if you prefer meals with less salt, it’s advisable to communicate your preference to your server. They can relay this request to the kitchen, ensuring that your food is prepared just the way you like it, with minimal sodium. Overall, it’s a great spot for a satisfying meal!

Cacio e Pepe was a bit underwhelming for the price and hype behind it. pizza was above average. I expected better but still good quality food and really great ambiance.
Great food, nice atmosphere. \nDownside is how congested it feels inside and lack of parking outside.

Had higher expectations for this place! Inside was way too loud, almost impossible to talk in. We received our meals on chipped and very stained plates, which makes me think they are lacking attention to detail. It was not 1 but 3 chipped plates. The food was okay. The serving method of the affogato could use a more catchy presentation.
Ran in at 10 for a quick bite. Already knew what we wanted based off of others reviews & recommendations. Ordered a red cab, one of the cocktails, olives, focaccia & spaghetti. When ordering the focaccia our server asked if we would like to add the salsa verde or burrata. We denied both as we just wanted to try the bread as is. He then asked if we would like some olive oil & balsamic vinegar on the side. We said sure assuming it was complimentary (our fault for not asking). Everything came out quickly - and service was fine the rest of the evening. Focaccia tasted like pizza crust. Nothing special and would not recommend ever. Spaghetti was delicious. Drinks were great. Not happy about the surprise charge for olive oil & balsamic but oh well…
