I love a good burger. This place has been around seems like forever with the same people working their also seems like forever. The burgers and fries are consistently good and are always freshly prepared to order. Only cash. Visiting here somehow takes you back in time with the way the handle business and with their sincerity in making a good burger. Every time I'm in the area I make it a point to stop by here and grab a burger. The burgers are seriously good.
Oh my god they burgers are so good so delicious it's like a homemade hamburger but from your grandma house That's That's how good they burgers are you got to come by and try them
Best burger and fries I have ever had. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
My husband and I gave this place a try last night for dinner and I kid you not best place hands down for a burger!!! We always pass by and decided to give it a try finally well worth every cent. Yummy food and fast service! Will definitely be returning back this weekend!
Great as always! I like fries cooked a pinch more so they are crispy and she did them for me just perfect! Basic is sometimes the best and the shakes and malts, this time I did chocolate and strawberry mixed, it was perfect. I don't know what ice cream they use or how they make it, but it comes out so good and ice crystals with great flavor, not to thick and not to thin, just right! The hamburger is ah-mazing. Nice size, good price. Cash only as always.
One of my favorite burger places in town! Love taking a nice little walk over to this stand and grabbing a bite. Good food and friendly staff.
This is my go to burger joint. It's just a good old fashion burger. I typically stop by at least once a week. I really like to support small local businesses. Especially in the heights, to try and keep all the main stream chains out. Word of advice call your order in, as they make it when you order. Doesn't take long if you order at the counter though. Maybe 5 min. And this place is CASH only! I keep can in my car at all times now just in case. Great if you need something quick on the go (quickif you call in). They have benches out side of you want to eat there. No inside area. Great price for a great burger.
Great little burger staple in the heights. Nothing fancy but they do their simple burgers right. My boys love them so do we.
Good old fashion burger fresh cut F F. Food comes out fresh and hot.
Delicious bacon cheeseburger and waffle cut fries. Super fresh, hot, had to push the idea of gorging on another burger out of my head, wish there was one in Clearlake, will be back!
I've been eating here since I was a kid. Since they had a location on Airline. Love the food and quality and that it's made to order not premade patties and made before you order. Lovely staff and feels so small and wholesome. Support local and small business!
Some burger has been in business at this location for over 25 years. I've been going a long time. The staff are friendly. For regular menu items, the burgers are good, cheese extra. I like their onion rings. Seasonal menu items include Frito Pie and Milk Shakes. Their Frito Pie is good for a warm, quick bite and their milkshakes are thick.
Skip the fast food burger. Promise you won’t regret it!! $12 combo meal that actually tastes like REAL FOOD 🤌🏽
Excellent location. Love a walk up burger joint. This place is giving In n Out a run for it's money. Good prices too. $15 for a combo is just right in 2024.
I'm confused by the bad reviews. I stopped here today after work, and it was wayyy better than any fast food chain around, and equally as cheap. I will note that I did NOT get onions on my burger, which seems to be a lot of people's complaints. I got a basket: cheeseburger with mustard, tomato, lettuce, and pickles, as well as fries. I thought the toasted bun was excellent. The fries were good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Next time I'll probably get double meat, as it is a pretty small burger. Overall, I'd much rather be a patron of a mom and pop joint than give my money to a big fast food place, particularly when the food at Someburger is better.
Excellent burgers! This establishment has been here in the Heights for as long as I can remember, going back to at least in the '70s. Many others have come and gone, but Someburger has stood strong. They may very well have the best burger buns in town. I recommend you call in your order ahead of time. Then you can pick it up pretty quickly.
It was the tastiest burger and fries I had ever tasted in a long time! The meat was so fresh. It had a very delicious flavor, the waffle fries and onion rings were seasoned to perfection! I will definitely be stopping by again!
Diane was sooooo amazing! Gave us the best recommendation and it truly was above and beyond! The pico chicken sandwich & the bacon cheeseburger w/bacon, egg and pico was one of the best things I have had in years! Definitely will keep coming back. Great and friendly service! I will not be going anywhere else but here from now on.
The best no frills old style burger & onion rings.
Stopped by here to grab a burger with fries. Food was excellent and the service was amazing!!!
Excellent old fashioned burger joint! ,great prices!
The burger was delicious and the staff was very friendly staff! I’d definitely eat here again.
I'm very disappointed on the burger meal that I bought. Ya post these burgers that look good and my didn't look near what ya had.. Also I expect to have fries and it was waffle fries. I ask for cheese and I got sprinkle cheese. For 1.15. Also I wanted chili on it. The chili look so cheap it was so dry and chunk. Chili and cheese should be melted and kind of runny. What i got it look like heart burn and make you go use the restroom. For my first time there and a 40 minute drive. I use to hear good things about this place . NOT no more
So far my favorite burger place. Been to several. This one just tastes to best to me. No gimmicks here. Just your classic burger. But the way they cook the meat is spectacular. To me, best display of skill. They put a good crust on the patty, but the meat is still juicy and flavorful when you bite into it. You do not need much sauce because it is well seasoned. The waffle fries are great. Better than Chick-fil-A. Seasoned well, super crispy even after sitting out for a minute. In conclusion, it's simple but done very well. Sometimes that's all it takes.
I grew up 50+years ago with Someburger. Back then you had a choice between a someburger and a justaburger😅. Now it's only a someburger which I totally enjoyed. The place is simply a little unpretentious building with a walk up window and a nice guy that takes your order. There are a couple of tables to the side of the building where you can sit and eat. It was nice to have a plain old fashioned no frills 🍔 burger.
This was a great first visit. My hamburger, while straight-forward, was fantastic! They offer seasoned fries and onion rings which are an excellent addition to our meal. We had a wonderful day to sit outside.
Love the quality of the fresh made to order burgers. Onion rings are delish!! Shakes, the options of flavors they have to choose from. They recently fixed up the outdoor patio area and now it’s nicely shaded and gorgeous on a fall afternoon to eat!! Hope this place stays here forever.
Waffle fries win the day for me. Hot, crisp, (oil not old, nor has a burnt oil flavor) with fresh potato. Carmelized perfectly.
The burgers were cooked like an old fashioned burger should taste like. Not greasy at all and the fries were not greasy either. If your an onion rings lover you need to try them out. Unfortunately they take cash only but it's worth the trip. Yummy
Excellent value for the location. Good parking too -- little picnic tables in the back. Most burger places don't add spice to the patty and that's the deal here so I sprinkle a little salt on the patty -- because I'm gluten free I get mine with no bun. The fries are good too, in between fat fries and straw fries. I was just blown away that I could get a meal in the heights, freshly cooked, at a regular price! This isn't a drive-thru so you'll have to walk up to the window and wait for your order.
Place has been here for years and great service and a fast friendly staff!
Fast and tasty. For fast food this is it! The onion rings are deep fried and delicious. Some burger has been around for years! They have picnic tables but no other seating. I always place a phone order and get the order to go. If you want a burger and fries that remind you of the 1950’s then this is it. The staff is small and not very friendly but it’s a burger right?
First time trying someburger today i got the double with cheese and it was a very good burger, cant beat the price either!
Not the same as original Someburger that ppl drove from far to get. New cooks. My burger was so dry I had to go back for mustard, mayo packets to add. No more crispy edge bun even if you request it. Paid $5. for French fries but was given seasoned waffle fries which I hate. Trashed all but 1 waffle fry and my dog ate the uneaten half of burger so it was total loss. The first red flag was parking lot completely empty even though all other parking lots in the area were completely full 😂. The prices went way up and quality way down. In all fairness, the order taker was very kind, friendly and polite but Someburger is over for me
I ordered the Someburger combo (burger, fries, and drink). The food was made fresh. Definitely not a fast food joint. The burger bun was lightly toasted and veggies were fresh (not wilted lettuce or soft tomatoes). The fries could've been more seasoned, but they were good. Have cash ready because they don't accept cards.. Highly recommend it though.
Someburger – 5/15/2025 On May 15, 2025, we went to Someburger at 745 E 11th in Houston. The weather was nice, and we were our usual group of six. Parking was a little tight. This burger shop is a casual outdoor stand with a walk-up window, no indoor dining area, and no restrooms. Despite being near a busy intersection, there were plenty of families around. We arrived at 7:15 PM. The menu was basic but straightforward, with lots of available add-ons (including horchata milkshakes). The logo is cute and minimalist, with good color contrast. The outdoor seating area was clean, the tables weren’t sticky, and the kitchen looked clean from what we could see through the order window. Service was fine — the man at the window kept up with all our orders and was friendly enough. As for restrooms: there weren’t any. One of our diners had to walk across the street. The food: We all ordered Someburgers with cheese — some with jalapeños and bacon, one with egg. They came with mayo, mustard, lettuce, pickles, and tomatoes. The patties were well-cooked and seasoned, though a bit thin. The buns were “perfectly toasted,” and the toppings were described as “juicy,” “fresh,” and well-proportioned. The fries were seasoned waffle fries with a crunchy coating (a favorite for most of us). The onion rings were crispy and seasoned, maybe even slightly over-breaded. Drinks were bottled sodas. Overall: One of our diners called this her “favorite burger spot so far.” The location fits the Heights — bike-accessible and casual — but the picnic tables being surrounded by parking lots and streets detracts from the overall experience. The lack of restrooms and the bottled sodas were noted as downsides. Overall rating: 7.78/10
Decent but dry burger. Actually gets a little pricy if you want a double cheeseburger.
Please be advised they are CASH ONLY! I found this place when I wanted a Chili dog from Cream Burger in 3rd Ward but it was closed at 3:45 pm on a Saturday. After a Google maps search and a couple of corporate (expensive) burger shops claiming they were old fashioned I saw Someburger, but it was in the Heights (Studewood). But, I drove over and found exactly what I was looking for. While the price were comparable to Cream Burger, the quality was better, the wait not as long and they prepared my food exactly as I ordered it (always a plus in my book). I ordered a chilidog, well-done fries and a regular burger. The chilidog was great, the fries were prepared perfectly but the burger was average. I'm learning the value of a great chilidog. So, I'll definitely be back and will order two chilidog and fries. So, if you want that memory of Chili dogs at the highschool football games, this is your spot, and price wise you get great value regarding the quality. I highly recommend Someburger. Warning, cash only!
Burger was really good my only critique is that my fries weren’t crispy they were good and warm but more on the soggy side. However I will be visiting again 👍🏾
I hadn't been here in years. It was just okay as far as taste (just a burger). I did not like the waffle cut fries. If you like seasoned curly fries, that's the taste you'll get. I prefer the old school steak fries they once served. Friendly and fast service. Parking sufficient and picnic tables for dining outdoor.
Been coming here for over 30 years. I was again on 10-3-25, burgers are awesome as always. The owner needs to bring back the regular fries. The current waffle fries are very greasy. I tossed them in the trash.
Cash only so be prepared. Onion rings are fantastic. Lightly breaded with great flavor. The fries are on the thick side which I like but the biggest thing to know is they are not salted so ask for some. Burgers are made fresh and the buns are nicely toasted. I got a double since the patties are a little thin and I was super hungry. A single is enough for most occasions. It's about the same price as fast food but better quality - I definitely recommend trying it.
SOMEBURGER (745 E 11th Street) @someburgerhtx "He's gonna eat 'em all Rapture, be pure" - Blondie So when I went to have lunch at @sushibytheheights a few weeks ago, I drove past this little burger stand on 11th Street - Someburger. I've been thinking about paying it a visit ever since. Then this morning i found out that apparently The Rapture is tomorrow. Well, crud. I'm not sure if it happens right at Midnight or if it's a rolling thing lije New Year's Eve and I can watch Dick Clark's cryogenically frozen body give me all the updates as the Rockin' Rapture makes it's way around the globe. So I REALLY needed to visit Someburger today because when i get Raptured (you just KNOW I'm one of The Chosen), I have a belly full of Bacon Double Cheeseburger. So I was good to go promptly at 11am. D'OH! My mom had accidentally taken the car keys and it seemed I was going to be denied my final meal (well - one of them anyway. It's still early.) I knew this was Beelzebub's work - doing his best to deny me my chili dog burps as I meet my Lord and Saviour. "Get thee behind me, Satan!" I yelled. And it worked! My brother showed up shortly with the key fob! Woohoo! I hopped into the hoopty and headed for the Heights! Someburger plays it's part well - yellow and green paint job, picnic tables with red umbrellas, Spaceman mural. But how was my (possibly) Final burger and chili dog gonna taste? I say possibly because i still haven't decided what's for dinner tonight. The answer is - they are both quite good. I actually ordered the Someburger with Bacon, Cheese, Double Meat, Jalapeños, a Fried Egg and Lettuce, Tomatoes, Pickles and Mayo. The burger was frickin' MASSIVE but they did a great job picking bread because the bun held up splendidly. Same with the Chili Cheese Dog. The bun didn't fall apart (unlike me who will totally turn into a blubbering puddle of jelly in the upcoming Battle of Armageddon). Also, the Beef Frank they use is HUGE! (And not in the typical male overestimating kinda way, but ACTUALLY huge.) Also got some Onion Rings. They were nice and crispy. And an Unsweet Ice Tea cuz I'm counting calories. Y'all should stop by one day when the weather is nice. It's a cool little corner to eat on and watch the world go by. I'd join you, but I'm gonn be unavailble due to the whole Rapture thingy.
Stopped in for a quick bite, this place is a no frills counter service burger spot with a very small menu. I tried the some burger and waffle fries. The burger was fresh and made to order. It was really good a little on the smaller size definitely go double if your really hungry. The waffle fries were very crunchy and a little too salty for me. The service was fast they will call your name when you r order is ready thru their loud speaker. There is only outdoor seating I counted 6 tables. Loved their sense of humor! I'll be coming back to try that double!
Service was good. There is no indoor dining, outdoor seating is available. A frozen patty was the source of the hamburger. Fries bread dressing is standard fast food. Bottled beverage served. There was no diet clear drinks available at all. Example: diet 7up, diet sprite or brewed tea without sweetners
The burger isn't bad. If I had to relate the taste I would say it reminds of a Sonic burger. Again it's not bad but I am not writing home about it. The fries were good and the milk shake okay. The people that work there are great. Very nice people. The price it's bad for the heights but you really don't have a lot of choices for a burger around where it is. Also they only take cash. Which most of us don't carry cash. I would also say It's not worth driving to if you don't work or live near by. As you are going to most likely pass better burgers to get there. That is my two cents. You don't have to take my word. Try it yourself and live with that choice. I did and I gave it 3 tries with the same results.
Perfect place to visit with a friend and chat. The wait is longer than your typical burger place and costs about 25% more as well, but the food is excellent/nostalgic. Reminds me of the burger you would get at a family cookout as a kid.
I love malts and hole in the walls so I tried this place. I ordered a malt with extra malt ;-) and got what I would consider as a frosty. Can't imagine the shake actually tastes any different but it was still good. Burgers at par, nothing to rave about. Fries are very crispy and with good potatoes ratio. If you're on a walk and have some cash I'd stop here. Cash only.
Have come to Someburger for years. Always have great food but looks like they have changed owners. I will say that I was surprised this trip when a double meat plain burger with cheese, fries and a coke cost $19.54 Burgers are great in the past not so much today and not worth double the price I've paid in the past.
Stopped by Someburger on a hot afternoon, drawn in by the convenient parking and cozy outdoor seating—great spot in a solid location. I was craving something cool, so I grabbed a chocolate milkshake to beat the heat (and it hit the spot). Ordered the classic burger with all the toppings and a side of waffle fries. The burger tasted great, but it was surprisingly thin and small for the price. The waffle fries were just okay—seemed more like the frozen kind rather than fresh-cut. Overall, it’s a decent spot with good vibes, but for the price point, I expected a bit more substance. If they upgraded to thicker burgers and fresh waffle fries, I’d be happy to give it 5 stars. Right now, I’d call it a solid 3.5 star experience.
Over-hyped, overpriced, and overrated. Burgers and fries only, don't even have onion rings. Coca-cola products only. No Dr. Pepper, no Pepsi. Bottled sodas only, no cans, no fountain drinks. 3.5% fee to pay with card. My burger was ok, not as good as it should've been for the price. My friend's fries had a hair on it. Outdoor seating only. Have no desire to return.
Stopped because I go to the one in Baytown a lot and it’s VERY good. Waited 20 mins to get my food. Had 2 burgers and both were completely wrong…….I asked for no cheese and of course my burger had cheese, the other was supposed to be a double and was only a single. When I sent it back because I cannot eat cheese they had the WORST attitude.
Service was fine, atmosphere is nice (when it's not too hot out - note the only outdoor seating). But probably one of the most disappointing burgers I've had recently. Nothing special, nothing interesting about the burger itself. Go to whataburger and save a few bucks, or spend $5 more at Bodega Burger and get an actually great meal.
The Best Someburger location used to be at Airline Dr. next to the Boy's Club. But after it closed down we started to frequent the 11 St. location. Only 2 Someburger locations left. This 11th St location & in Baytown. And I might add that the Baytown Someburger doesn't follow the true Someburger recipe, so the 11th location is it. As is the custom to most Mom & Pop (This used to be a Mom & Daughter) restaurants these days, the prices went up & the portions went down. The Someburger is 3/4th the size of what it used to be in the late 70s. The Someburger basket is now $12.45.
The prices are good but the food is not what it used to be. I don't know what happened to the place. I could have gotten a better burger somewhere else or better yet made a better one at home. I hate to say it but i won't be returning back which is sad because I used to really love their food growing up. The elderly woman at the window taking the orders was very rude so it might be best for her to retire. Bad food and bad service smh it's a no for me . Goodbye someburger it was great while it lasted
I recently visited Someburger and was extremely disappointed. I paid $56 for three burgers, waffle fries, and three shakes. The burgers were small and bland, the waffle fries were dry, and the shakes lacked flavor. This place is not what it used to be. I miss the old burgers and the previous owners. I won't be coming back.
I paid 13.?? total for a cheese burger combo. It was a tee tiny thin Patti from a frozen box, on a huge dried out, crunchy around the edges, bun! Not good at all! The fries and the 20 oz coke was good! Will not return!
I moved to Houston 24 years ago. When I get to a new city I like to explore. I particularly like to check out off beat places. Of course probably the first fast food place was What*******r. I worked in the Heights. Then I saw this forlorn green building with a name that had to be a riff. It was lunchtime and it was abandoned. Looked like I was the first customer they had seen in a week. I still was game, so I ordered a burger and I don't recall what else. About 15 or 20 minutes later, the window opened and a bag came through. The only seating was a picnic table, so I used it. I choked down what I could, threw the trash in the barrel (yes, there was one- funny, there was nothing else in it. ) As I recall, the burger was as bad as another reviewer said, nasty onions and all. Chalk it up to a new experience. It was one of the worst places I have ever been. The recent pictures are a bit shocking. Nothing, not one thing, has changed. I enjoy nostalgia as well as the next, but just take a picture as you drive by.
This is one of those heights places that looks good but is actually terribly overrated. I'm not sure what all the hullabaloo is about. Well Below average bacon cheese burger for $10!!!!! Not crisp, thin bacon. Unseasoned patty. Literal iceberg chunks on the sandwich. American cheap cheese. Menu seems affordable but is really nickel and diming to death. Overall, A shot taken, not to be repeated. Do yourself a favor and head over to Burger Joint for a few dollars more and have a burger you'll be happy you bought.
They said they don't sell chicken nuggets anymore so i had to get frito pie. The frito pie seemed like it was just canned chili thrown in a bag of chips and drizzled with cheese. Both my husband and my grandpas burgers were cold and the patty was dry. The fries were hard and I ultimately had to go get something else to eat. We'll never come back to Someburger. Idk what happened to the good food yall used to make but you should revert back to that unsteady of whatever this is
Chocolate Milkshake tasted like rosemary or basil was in it, ruined it, burgers were burnt
I use to love this place. I don't like the new fries. I love the old fries better. Then charging $12 just for the burger and bunkass fries is crazy. Sucks to say today be my last somebuger.
The food was ok the burger is small for the price and I didn't like the waffle fries too hard and too salty, I prefer the old fries , I took it back and the gave onion rings instead they were good just a little too greasy for my liking, but overall great service, friendly staff .
My boyfriend and I always visit the location in Baytown however we decided to try this Heights location since it was closer to our work. I didn't like the location at all. Parking is not the best. No restroom or a place to wash your hands. I didn't like while ordering food, we are putting our card information while people stand up close behind you during that time and can see all that. I wanted to eat there at the place but the tables were so close together, I felt like we were up on other people around us, so we decided to take it to go. Food was not good, burgers were smashed and fries were not the original like the other location and I hate to say this but this location is worse than Jack in the Box. Someburger Baytown is 100% better !!
I love this spot. But THERE HAS ONLY BEEN ONE TIME They have gotten my order correct.
Ordered cheese on my burger Wich they charge extra for didn’t receive it tried giving me my combo whitout fry’s then made me wait 3 min for my fry’s after and when I brought it to their attention about the cheese he said sorry. Like I didn’t jus payed extra for it smh every employee looked very young and inexperienced in my opinion 🤷🏻♂️ burger tasted good but over rated and over priced first time coming here and last a
I had a great shake on Friday. Ordered 4 burgers on 7/6 and the meat was overcooked and basically inedible. It was so overcooked you could crack it in half. not sure why they have great reviews. maybe they cook the burgers in the morning and reheat.
Prices listed are $10 less than what the people will try to charge you. Costs $1.50 for cheese on your CHEESEBURGER. Burger listed as $14.78 and the combo listed as $15.46 but they told me it comes out to $25. Yes, $25 for a burger, fries, and a shake. And when I replaced the shake for a Coke, he said it was $22.
I ordered a double cheeseburger with onion rings and a drink which was $23.97, which honestly I feel is very pricey for just a simple burger but I wanted to give it a shot and see if it was worth it. The burger was very bland and the meat tasted like it was reheated. This was my first and last time eating at this place. Save your money.
the service was so poor!!! Our first time here and we will Never come back. We didn't even get to try the food since the lady over charged us. On their Website it stated the combo is $7.99. First the lady said those are Baytown prices. Do I went to their location page and showed the price Then I went to their website again and placed a pick up order with the $7.99 price and they refused to honor the price and continued to argue with us. Poor owner ship and terrible customer service.
Been coming to the Someburger on Decker for a long time and has always been great until today . The meat was over cooked as well as the bacon . The fries were ordered cooked also. I came in around 3:00 pm the place was dirty ,flies everywhere . I can't speak from the lunch crew but there used to be people cooking cared about the quality but I was wrong . Hate to say it but this will be the last time I dine here .
How in the heck is this place rated almost 4.5 stars? The burger at this place is garbage. I ordered a Someburger plus ketchup and received a cold dried out burger patty in-between two slices of an old bun that wasn't fresh. The burger was SUPER overloaded with diced onions that were not fresh and had a bitter taste. I love freshly diced onions, but even after I scraped off half of them there was still too many. I wanted to scrape off more, but they were mixed in with finely chopped lettuce and I didn't want to scrape off all the lettuce. There was one small slice of tomato about the size of a roma tomato and no pickles. For $5.45 for a single, one would think they could put on some pickles. When I took a bite of this horrible burger I wanted to throw it away, but for the price I paid for it I struggled to eat most of it. The onions were too overpowering and the bun was too awful to eat it all. I love mom & pop type burger joints, but this place is horrible. $3.65 for fries and 2.35 for a 20oz bottled soda or save .40 cents and do a combo for $11.05 plus tax. If you want a double that'll cost you an extra $2.85. All for garbage food. I don't need to tell any Texans that at the restaurant with the Orange and White you can get a double meat combo for less than a single combo at this place and get fresh hot food. How is this place still in business in the middle of an area with so many better options?
