Is. Good
Great Dining Hall, Super Friendly Staff, and Yummy Food.
Very good food, has ice cream machine
Good meals, great price, and it is in UH GO COOGS
Got me through college with healthy meals & junk food when I wanted.
Variety of great eats to enjoy!
Great variety of food choices.
Best dinning I have ever been to
Nice restaurant with super friendly staff
Good food, clean aesthetic.
Many foods and reasonable prices
Staff very friendly and helpful. Building clean and comfortable, personal are sanitation all of the time. Great experience.
Great options that change around 3 times a day! Good portions and you can have as much as you like!
They have an amazing wide array of vegan and vegetarian options that Moody dining hall lacks
Excellent food, international dishes, soul food and best desserts.
The food alright but I just like to study here. The aesthetics of this building are beautiful
Clean bright vibrant ....amazing housekeeping...Fast friendly service ...GLASS HOUSE... Energy n good vibes for all who enter
Good food with a friendly staff. Wide selection of food and meals.
Best time to go there would be dinner time, since that is when they have the best cuisines.
The crowd is what makes this a great environment to have lunch. Most of, if not all the beautiful cougar women eat here. The wait staff is top notch.
Very nice, come in here to work on homework a lot. Really enjoy the make your own sandwich section
Excellent selection of items, fresh food, and reasonable cost. No complaints. Definitely give it a try!
Great food. Nice staff. Love dinning here as a student.
Perfect place for breakfast, wow…. 🤩 looking forward to come back soon
It's a buffet hall, what's not to love, there's comfort food, exhibition, salad bar, deli section, waffle station, pizza oven, dessert bar, ice-cream machine, soups, and forever fries!!!
It is a great place to eat on the University of Houston campus!
The food here is always good :)
Adriana Supervisor of Back of the house, Bubba chef And Marqutte., you guys are great and pleasant. They treat us like their own children and are very kind. Food is so Heathy and no oil which I love the most in most of the dishes.
Not too many dishes just fried chicken and fries are permanent salads which you can make by adding different fruits n veggies drinks available halal food option also available

I wonder if those who complain about stingy portions have realized that it’s an all you can eat. Yes, food is not top notch cuisine, but you can feed yourself more than decently for 12-13$, with way better food than any fast food chain around, and you’re on campus. Some more power plugs would allow more laptop charging
Definitely dine in this place, it is affordable, healthy and delicious. Just one thing, manger and chefs aren't much friendly, some of the cashiers rude. If you are able to pass the ugly management, you will be set up for a great, healthy meal.
The food was good. My server was great. Everything was ok until I asked a heavy set dark skin man if I could get another corn. My corn was very over done & chewy! We claimed that since it was 20 minutes into me having my food, that I should just deal with it. He also implied that it tasted over cooked because"I took too long to eat it".

Better than moody
You will get good food just in $10
service is ok at best but food is good
Closes too early and the choices are limited if u go everyday.
Always good experience but cleanliness is needed
not bad, they need to increase the options!
Nice place with a good variety of food.
Best dining option..Usually crowded in Friday
Good lunch ambient atmosphere
Better than moody towers.
Good enough with a low price!
Great omelettes, bacon, and pizza. The staff are very friendly and responsive to feedback, which is much appreciated.
Good selection/veriety of food. Staff can be kindove downers. Some are kind, though. Ice cream sucks in my opinion. I love how the food selection changes each day.
For the price they charge, the food selection is disappointing. However, the (available) food is great, staff are nice, and the facility is clean.
Decent price for mid food but a lot of food you can eat
The food and service quality has gone down a lil bit since 2019 but it still good enough to be enjoyable and sometimes the quality goes up and even surpasses their 2019 levels.
Food does honestly vary! From medium quality to high quality! I would say it just depends on the staff on the current day. It’s just the roll of the dice baby!!
The food is good and there's a lot of choice, but still not enough. Depending on the hours you will find the place crowded and noisier, but you will always find a place to sit.
Don't sleep on this place. There are a couple things I found to be salty. Although in my opinion the food is better then moody, I'll take that extra walk for better quality food.
Very good cafeteria on UH campus. The food options are healthy and affordable. More recently , they have also put in place great measures to prevent the spread of COVID.
Out of the two dining halls, this one has always been the safer of the two. Friends got food poisoning several times at moody, but I can recall no problems with cougar woods. If anything, sometimes the pasta is bland, but it's safe from what I've seen in my years at UH.
Very nice setup love the environment people are great are I should say students I went there the other day to do my onboarding in it was great also thanks for the help of helping me being on the the team. U of h Thank You I grew up in this neighborhood and they always showed me love.
The quality of the food is good but the variety is very less.If I am given a choice between moody and cougar woods ,I prefer cougar woods (if I am considering taste of the food) but if it is variety I prefer moody towers.I might be biased because Cougar woods have Indian food while moody does not have Indian cusine.
workers are very friendly and the food is okay! but there is a lactose free soft serve machine so that’s why it’s 4 stars instead of three :)

Pretty reliable. All the food is generally good for being an all you can eat. Some people think it’s repetitive or limited but it’s just a niche of being an all you can eat. They still serve specials every day that are all generally food and unique. Staffs super nice.
This dining hall is, in my opinion, the better of the two on campus. The architecture is pleasing with the glass walls letting a lot of material lighting in. The food has a wide variety and it's pretty much up to you if you want to eat healthy or not. The staff are usually friendly though there are times where they seem to seem just plain understaffed. Overall it's a nice place to eat wether alone or with your friends.
This is the better of the two dinning halls on campus. The food they serve is well made and often really tasty. Their food provided include pizza, burgers/chicken tenders, a well stocked salad bar, frozen yogurt machine, vegetarian options, and then some options that change daily like pasta and more. The workers do their job properly and are nice
The better of the two dining halls on campus. Cougar woods has a great view and the sandwiches are made to order so there's always something for everyone. The pizza is good and they like to experiment with them which is always a plus. ALSO THERE'S A SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM MACHINE!!

Tastes like chicken to me...
The customer service sucks
Cold soup, hot cereal, students.
Food varies from really good to really bad.
Menu is limited in comparison to Moody and the quality is not as good.
Food is never consistent.. The quality is not great
Food mediocre, okay atmosphere
Food is sub par, but it's cheep and unlimited. Fun place to socialize.
Not really the best but not the worst either. Definitely a place I would come back to every now and then.
Cougar woods is definitely the better of the two dining Halls on the University of Houston campus and although you can sometimes get really delicious food here, sometimes it can be very bland. The seating is ok and there is plenty of light and it's not too expensive.
The moody dining hall is way better. The staff here is not very friendly & not much options to choose from. Only pro for this dining hall is that there are less queues because of less crowd.
If you have a UH meal plan, just go to Fresh Foods. Otherwise, it's a fine place that always has french fries and ice cream (FF does not!)
The food is okay, but the price is decent, well, depending on how much you eat, and it is a buffet.
Compared to the other dining hall at UH, the Moody Dining Commons, Cougar Woods doesn't have that many food options. The size is definitely larger and it has better lighting, but the food options are limited.
Food quality depends on the day. Sometimes it’s really good; other times flavorless and bland. The true joke though is the hours. For residents that live on campus especially in cougar place, the fact that it closes at 6 PM!!! Is ridiculous. It should be 24 hours like moody, or at least midnight every day, especially weekends
Pretty good food for University fare. They do have new things all the time and the salad bar is always fresh and well stocked. On Fridays they offer staff lunch for $5 if you wear cougar red. Not a bad deal. They should offer cookies more often but when they do it is appreciated.
The best of CW is the salad bar, with a variety of fresh vegetables. They offer milk and fruits, as long as pizza and burgers. The food, however, is only average (chicken without much flavor, bad desserts). Prices: breakfas is 5.95, lunch is 7.95, dinner is 10.95 and late night 7.95. While it seems that previously it was better than Moody Towers Dining Commons, Moody is better now.
The quality f the food is not high. you can buy better food but in the smaller portion in other restaurants. Compared to Moody Towers, at least this place is a lil better. This was the 2nd time the espresso machine was out of milk, so does the tea dispenser. Yesterday I waited for 10 mins to enter the building because their machine was not working and the didn't show any hurry to help my friend and I.

Ok food
The salad bar is the cheapest healthy food available on campus.
Very bad place if you eat halal. There is not much options.
Not too much variety, and during summer days is even less
Food is good, but the hours are absolutely terrible. Leaves students without access to good food over the weekend.
Equipment was already being shut down at 2.30pm, so wasn't able to finish lunch with a coffee.
Half the stations were empty, what food there was was dry and old. Very disappointing meal. And super expensive for cheap cafeteria food that wasn't even fresh.
The food could be better to be honest. The University needs to place some more money into dining hall, instead of the putting in a new training facility.
The food options are so limited. The only thing that makes me want to do is the soft serve ice cream but as winter is approaching it's not worth the walk BUT it is very pretty
Basic, bland, processed school food! It does the trick if you're hungry, but if you enjoy food, skip it! Limited selection although it changes daily, college students deserve better not just anything to put in their bodies. The employees are not to fault, but it's Aramark so what do you expect.
The staff could be a lot more friendly and welcoming to make the whole establishment feel more comfortable. It's the main reason I give this place a lower score is the staff here could due to have more respect for the customers eating and spending money here. If you don't like what you do for a living, don't make it other people's problem!! The food selection varies and usually has a little bit of everything. Food isn't amazing but it's not bad either, and it's definitely fair for the price.
Price increase= Quality decrease in UH Dining Economics
Foods are sub-par. Only have 3 small sections at the food bar serving a total of 6 warm small buckets of food during lunch hours. Grilled chickens are dry and hard. French fries are too salty. Rice are under cooked. Employees who serve dinners are unwilling to give you a larger size of meal regardless of your request. The only good thing is "All You Can Eat" after you paid to get in.

Cashier's machine was not working... didn't allow me to eat there!
The food quality is not very good at this dining hall and the staff is more often than not unpleasant.
Not getting a meal plan next semester. This dining hall has some of the worst food I've ever had, along with a staff that can be very unpleasant. Very disappointing.
I hope you can eat 11-1 or 5-7 because otherwise you basically have a choice of cookies and whatever leftovers the people haven't eaten by then. It seems that an hour after they officially start lunch or dinner, they quit making food and just roll with whatever they have at that point. If they run out 2 hours before the next meal, I hope you like cookies. And there is no refund for your money or swipe. I wish I could write more than one review, because they just make irritated. Their soft serve machine is operational slightly more than the average mcdonalds one too.
The food is frozen then thawed most of what your going to eat while here is rice french fries pizza or chicken tenders. The coworker are terrible blowing people off at the slightest question implying you should of already know something like common sense and generally being unpleasant and rude I've had McDonald's employees better behaved them most of this staff. Then you are brought to the noise pollution it's so bad I honestly recommend coming here with headphones or earbuds just because of how loud it is.
The guy at the register literally makes me so uncomfortable everytime I go in there. He acts like he can not hear me and makes me repeat myself twice every single time I come in there. They need self checkout or a kiosk. Why are we paying people to stand there on their phones doing absolutely nothing. He kind of gives me the ick. It's still a business after all. The food is pretty good and the place is new and clean. I hope UH hires more professional people that represents them better. The college doesn't do anything about harassment. It's unsafe and in a poverty crime area.
Food is always sub par. Chicken is always dry and hard, the rice is always undercooked. The dish choices are… questionable. Serving portions are extremely stingy. And worst of all, this place seems to be a fly haven!
