Good place for buffet lunch. Specifically on Friday they serves buffet lunch for $6.75 incl tax if you wear red with UH logo/name.
Good food with a pasta bar, hibachi chef, and a wide selection of food. This location is also open 24 hours.
Pretty good, I wish they had more variety throughout the week. The food starts to feel tasteless after eating almost the same thing every day.
Staff is either short or they just don't wanna help someone out. I have always had this experience in moody. Don't expect too much because it is cheap so just take it what you get. If the coffee machine is saying milk empty don't expect someone will come and fill it up till you are there
Full energetic environment the bands team made the crowd of match if you want to go quite place it's not good option for you
A nice variety of options that change throughout the day, they also have vegan choices

The food is neither good nor bad. But over all for $10.01 and you get a buffet u cant complain.
Much better than cougar woods..
I eat here 2+ times a day. Although they don't serve much around 11am and 10pm, the pizza is always okay, there's cereal, and the round grill's rice dish is great
Food tastes alright, it's pretty good for a college dining hall. Great variety of food, and they listen to complaints and take action.
Food was hot and tasty. Not bad for a college buffet. Spacious seating
The only place I know where with ~10$ I can have a giant salad made with all my criteria, a turkey sandwich, coffee, cereals, white rice, and some lactose free proto-ice cream. Pizza is not bad, but you gotta hope you get there when they use thin crust bases. 4 stars because they don’t have club soda.
As a student, this dining hall has improved over the this past year. With a new company taking over dining at UH, there has definitely been more & better food options to choose from. During the school year, they also open 24 hours which is good for the students who get hungry during in the early morning hours or for those who may just need a spot to study while eating. Lastly, the music played in there is actually chosen by students through an app. Students can put in a song request and it might be played!
There’s a lot of food in there that you can take with drink refills 👍
Nothing beats the magic of going to moody at 3am to get the breakfast bowl. There's a good amount of seating, although sometimes it is too full to sit. A nice place to enjoy some food and be with friends. One note though is that they have removed any to-go availability, which used to be a big plus of the place. Sometimes the people are rude, but overwhelmingly these are nice people and dependable service. I would recommend going in the morning, as the price of entry changes throughout the day. Once you are inside, you can stay forever. There's a bathroom and outlets, so you can go in to do some work and basically pay $10 for unlimited food for as long as you want.

Please ignore some of the kids who posted their review the first week they got to the school. I can say after 2 months that everything I've eaten has been decent at minimum. The staff seem really nice, and I appreciate that they have outlets in all their booths so you charge your electronics. Best foods in my opinion are: cheeseburgers, salad bar, and the cookies

Typical mass-feeding site for young adults. Good variety of food choices but the food is mass produced and quality isn't as important as it should be.
this is a dining hall. the food is edible. it's not worth it. there's rats but if you don't think about it they can't hurt you
24 hrs service at your service. There are not many new changes, but they still have great variety and selections.
Just an average buffet style cafeteria. I wouldn't expect to much out of their food
Short lines on weekends due to less students being present, food is upper mid. But service is GREAT!
Half price on Fridays if you wear red clothing
Fresh Foods has it's days of being amazing and then sometimes just not having anything to eat. Overall it's meh.
Went there on a Friday for the buffet with our red t-shirts on for the discount :). There was a decent variety of choices, including halal options. We tried a few dishes, and while the selection was good, the food itself was just okay. Some items lacked flavor and didn't stand out. Overall, it was an average dining experience.
Need more improvement to variety of dishes and should be open longer hour or maybe more shifts of staffs. People paid money to the dining service already and would like to see great food at school. Houston is famous for diversified food and not far away from campus. New contract improved all this #studentdininghall

Don’t get me wrong, i actually like Moody Towers Dinning hall food. They serve different kinds of food everyday. But at times their food isn’t the best. Their chicken tenders can be crispy on one day and then the next day they’re hard and dry. Not only that some of the workers are rude, thinking they own the place. Portion sizes are very small. When you go get seconds from the same like it seems like it bothers the workers. The atmosphere there is not as welcoming. I wouldn’t really say it’s worth a meal plan.
Decent enough place, nothing special. A little infuriating that they raised the prices amount other things this semester around the University. The food is typically good, I recommend the gluten free section it’s usually so good. Workers are typically very helpful and serve with a smile.

Ok quality food, not the best. Soda machines didn't work. Sprite wasn't sprite it was just club soda.
It is cheap of course, but the service is not good, in fact one of the staff yield on my face And the quality of food is not very good
The whole place smells like rotted onions. Hours are quirky, and the food is average. It's Aramark - a noted name for very poor quality food and slave labor, in order to make a profit. ExxonMobil kicked them out of their downtown location some years back. This company needs to go.
Selection is ok but why the heck is everything cooked in toxic inflammatory canola oil? Seed oils are a major factor in the ruination of public health! Processed foods in general are good for no one.
I feel that it’s very inconsiderate to serve butter pecan ice cream knowing that people with nut allergies are very common one of the most common allergies out there. Not to mention that butter pecan looks very similar to vanilla. When I asked for that ice cream, there wasn’t a sign, and the worker that was serving it did not immediately say that it was butter pecan and contained nuts. I had to ask her for vanilla ice cream because I saw everybody walking around with it, and that’s what it looked like. I could have had an allergic reaction if I didn’t ask. But y’all have a lactose-free soft-serve ice cream machine, yet y’all can serve nut-produced ice cream when it’s more common to have nut allergies than it is to be lactose intolerant. So I find it inconsiderate that y’all don’t have a nut-free facility, because that is just not acceptable. Also, the soft-serve ice cream machine has been broken for over a week. So when I finally get the chance to have some ice cream, I can’t even have it because it contains nuts. The worker said they ran out of vanilla. Why not just serve all ice cream with no nut products in it before unfortunate circumstances occur? Please do better and be more considerate to the people with nut allergies, just how y’all are considerate to the people who are lactose intolerant.

The manager was extremely rude. Doesn’t deserve her position if she’s going to be rude to students and her workers.
Do they ever actually taste the food before serving or !??? It tastes bland all the time ! This place has so much potential !
Food very bad, and they force you to eat for one year if resident in moody
Place was ok but service was terrible. I was getting breakfast and asked the server if I could get more eggs respectfully and then he yelled at me “nah, come back around g.” Another time I was getting an omelette in the morning and when I asked for potatoes, the same guy I was previously talking about gave me an ugly look and then goes “grab the plate g” and then throws the potatoes on my plate. I didn’t pay $10 to be called a “g” and receive the most rude service I’ve ever experienced in my life. If I was gonna pay $10 for a meal I’d rather go to a restaurant that treats people with respect and actually has management looking over their workers.
My recent visit to the Moody Towers Dining Commons was terrible. The food was decent but the employees are some of the most unapologetically rude people you will find on UH.
Full disclosure, I visited four days during a week in the summer while I was attending a training on campus. I did some research about the prices — Lunch is $8.50, dinner is $9.50, and the cheapest meal plan for residents is $1,650. You think that you’d be getting at least mediocre food, right? Nope. This cafeteria food is just as limited and low quality as any other. According to their website their food should be labeled with symbols that indicate whether an item is vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free. However, not only was literally no food labeled, when I asked politely about the possibility about getting gluten free bread for their sandwich bar (because nothing else was edible with my dietary restrictions) I got looked at like I had antennae sticking out the top of my head. The food was boring and low quality, and it was the same every day. Meal plans are a joke and a rip off at every college, but students should demand more for their money!
Service was terrible at the grill station (fries, chicken tenders) 5:50pm 2/11/2022. The staff was very rude, and this is not the first time. I barely come to Moody but I recognize him and his poor attitude.

The food was okay 70% of the time, and the other 30% it tasted awful. The hours are odd too. They only serve soup and salad between 2:00 and 5:00, and sometimes they run out of food completely, especially during breakfast hours. During peak dining hours, lines of 30+ people can start forming because they are either under-staffed, or the employees don't serve food efficiently. There have also been several instances where some of the employees were rude. For requiring on-campus residents to buy a $1000 meal plan, they should really have better quality food and service. Disappointing.
Come here if you are looking to get food poisoning. This place serves old discusting food you wouldn’t give to your pet. Dont be fooled. They have so many cases of food poisoning they should be shut down. Someone needs to do something about this. They need hhs to come asap.
first of all, they give meal plans to professors but not to graduate students who work on campus as well. not even a discount. they increased the price and the service is worse than ever. they let more people get in than there are seats, you have to wait for 10-15 mins for a seat to open. food quality is getting lower and lower by the day. overall, really disappointing.
This place is disgusting every plate is filthy with food from the previous night. Don’t get me started on the dish pit area that’s never clean food and plates everywhere. The workers always have an attitude with some taking forever to serve food. I understand the feeling of not wanting to work but have enough self control to not take it out on people especially the students. Now finally the food every dish is bland leaving much to be desired. I’m not expecting 5 star food but it would be nice to have a decent meal with flavour every night it’s baked chicken or just another baked protein. I know there’s at least one grill or fryer in the kitchen. For college students food is essential it gives you something to look forward to after a day of learning. But don’t expect that here if anything you’ll frustrate yourself realising that you spent 3,000 on a meal plan.
Consider about this comment before you go eat or even buy the meal plan, if you are a person who knows how to cook or know how to open Youtube and learn how to cook, please, don't take this dining into consideration, this dining has the food including: pork with no seasoning, the chicken that tastes like a piece of woods, the worst thing is their rice they cook (this is the most frequent issue) is harder than my teeth. Students been paying 3000$ for meal plan and they been serving people with such ugly food. Also this dining used to be 24hs operating, located between 2 biggest dorm in campus, but now they stop doing that, students have to walk all the way to cougar woods to eat, so stupid decision.
The staff is incredibly rude, especially in the morning. I came to eat before going to the gym and there was no food being served. I walked up to one of the stations to wait, and one of the men told me they were closed. So on top of the food not being fresh almost everyday and the customer service being terrible, the dining hall is also not 24hrs like indicated. I sat there for an hour and there was still no food being served. I had places to be and going to the gym on an empty stomach is not ideal. It sucks that not only did I HAVE to pay for this terrible service and dining, but that I don’t even get access to it nor do I have another option because I pay for school out of my own pocket. UH has got to do better for us students, because this is just sad.
I'd stay away from here. Yeah it's cheap, but undercooked, hard stale food really worth it? Pizza was a rock, ordered rice with broccoli and tofu they slapped on the grill, but it still cold 🤔. Soup taste like days old. There's just so many wrong going on, I feel bad for the students that eats here. Staffs are also rude and have attitudes when you order.
If I could give this cafeteria 0 stars, I would. It's often closed even when the UH Go app says it's open, the excuse is often "the water is out." Even more concerning is the disrespectful behavior of some staff members. Students are often yelled at for using the "wrong sized bowl" or disrespected in a condescending manner, as if the $3,000 per semester meal plan students pay is irrelevant. If you want to yell at people and be condescending, go yell at your manager and beg them to retrain you. A word to staff:students are paying a significant amount for these meals and deserve to be treated with respect. With the prices we are paying, the dining experience should reflect that. Yelling. condescension, and disrespect are intolerable. Go coogs!
Moody towers is nothing but horrible, sadly I’m forced to eat here since I’m a student with no other options. There’s never anything ready and they’re always out of something. 9 times out of 10 when I get a plate or a utensil it’s dirty, last week I picked up a plate at the chicken finger station and it was full of ranch and it smeared all over my hand. Do not recommend.
This place has been closed for days. Our student cannot get fed. They don’t post the outage. The required meal plans are expensive. What terrible service and a place to be educated.
