We were in Houston for the National HOSA competition and had never had true Texas BBQ. This place did not disappoint. We ordered brisket, pork ribs, jalapeño pork sausage, half chicken, and ham, All of the meat was tender and juicy. We especially enjoyed the half chicken and pork ribs. I didn't care for the beans but that could just be personal preference. The service was outstanding when sitting outside. The gentleman cleaning tables and helping guests checked on us at least five times. If in Houston, check it out.

Goode Company BBQ absolutely lived up to the hype. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was spot-on—casual, comfortable, and full of that Texas BBQ charm. They were out of brisket when I stopped by (which was a bit of a bummer), but the smoked turkey po’boy more than made up for it. Juicy, flavorful, and perfectly smoked—it was honestly one of the best turkey sandwiches I’ve ever had. The mac and cheese was stellar—creamy, cheesy, and just the right amount of richness. The seasoned rice was also on point and tied everything together. I always have to try the banana cream pie wherever I go, and while it looked promising, it was the only part of the meal that didn’t wow me. Just okay—not bad, just not on the same level as everything else. Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area, and I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Houston for work.

The Goode Company BBQ is hands down one of the best BBQ spots I’ve been to! I absolutely loved the setup—it’s like a cafeteria-style line, which makes it so easy and fun to pick exactly what you want. The staff is super friendly and efficient, which made the experience even better. Now, let’s talk about the food. It was incredible! The brisket was perfectly smoked, tender, and packed with flavor. The sausage was just the right amount of spicy, and the sides—especially the potato salad and coleslaw—were amazing and complemented the meats perfectly. Every bite was better than the last. Another highlight is the option to sit indoors or outdoors. Whether you want to enjoy the cozy, rustic interior or relax on the outdoor patio, there’s a great vibe either way. I opted for the outdoor seating, and it was the perfect atmosphere to enjoy such delicious food. Overall, The Goode Company BBQ delivers fantastic food, great service, and a relaxed, enjoyable dining experience. I’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone craving top-notch BBQ in a welcoming, fun environment!

This has been here lots of years for a reason. The intoxicating scent of smoked brisket invites you in, and the dark Old Texas decor (antique jukebox, gigantic buffalo head) sets the stage. The sliced brisket sandwich tasted delicious, though for me, too many bites were nothing but fat. The Austin Baked Beans were wonderful, unlike any I’ve found anywhere else, a delicious gathering of beans, pieces of brisket, peppers, onions, and chunks of apple. A piece of Brazos Bottom Pecan Pie wrapped things up. Yum.

The Goode Company BBQ is a pretty good barbecue joint in Houston. I don't think it is nearly as good as what you can get in the Hill Country and Austin, but still good. What really sets The Goode Company apart is their Pecan pie. My God it's good!! And you can get it to go. I got one for a flight to Seattle and it was packed ready for travel and everyone at the party were surprised by how good it was. I would highly recommend their Pecan pie --- and the brisket is good too!

Our first Texas BBQ. Visiting Houston for the first time, and our friends took us here. We told them we wanted to try a spot that the locals consider great BBQ, and it didn't disappoint. I had the brisket with mac&cheese and jambalaya texana. So, SO GOODE! Oh, I almost forgot the jalepeño cheese bread and banana pudding - WOW is the only way to describe those! The service was outstanding. Easy to order. Sat outside on the patio and although it was a hot day, the covered patio and the ceiling fans made it comfortable. Definitely going to have more Goode Co BBQ when we return to Houston!

First sweet tea and first Texas BBQ! We were brought here by friends while visiting the area and they said that locals love and reference this place often. The atmosphere was great. Felt like a destination and the food was good. The potato salad had a mustard base, the cole slaw was not overly dressed, and the meat was soft and tasty on its own. The sauce was more tomato based than tangy so I used it sparingly. The sweet tea was so delicious I must have drank my weight in cups that day. Fermin was working the covered and fanned patio where we sat and he was extraordinary. The entire time he took care of us as though we were at a 5 star high end restaurant. He held the door open for us, cleared our plates, offered refills, and was incredibly pleasant. I'm so happy we ate here. The atmosphere, food, and having a Houstonian experience was all nice and Fermin, took it over the top. He was amazing.

Really cool spot, BBQ was really good; but the beans were the star IMO. Mac and cheese was on point too very creamy and tasty and the jalapeno bread was light and fluffy. Brisket was flavourful but a bit dry for my liking.

Visited on (2/22/25) and I was very impressed. The food was fresh and tasty. Nice variety of BBQ and drinks, all for a very reasonable price. I ordered the chopped brisket sandwich, turkey and chicken combo player w/ green beans and jambalaya rice, and banana pudding. The memorabilia and photos of past times gave a down home old western style feel to it, although the lighting in the establishment could be a little brighter. I will definitely be back to when I visit the upper Kirby area.

While not about the bbq menu, this is actually regarding the Thanksgiving items they offer yearly. I have been ordering their “Crangria” for this being my 3rd year and every year it’s come with the garnishes such as dehydrated oranges, anise, etc. It really levels up the drink and is just so delicious. It brings me back every year. Well today I picked up my Thanksgiving side dish and crangria and to my surprise no garnishes. 😕 When I let the gentleman know they were missing he let me know “oh it doesn’t come with any of that this year”. Meanwhile it was still listed on the Thanksgiving menu when I ordered.
