Tip: Try the reverse happy hour or the AYCE omakase on Sundays. The hand rolls and anything with foie gras are highly recommended.

I went here 3 times and had amazing food and experience every time. I love their sashimi and crudo. The staff were super nice. Jesus waited our table last time and he was helpful, friendly, and funny. I tried the AYCE omakase once and after the main courses they brought a handroll every other course so I did not like that personally because i got filled up easily. Highly recommend.
The 15-course omakase tonight was the highlight of our weekend. We had friends visiting from out of town and decided to stop by for the all-you-can-eat omakase. Every curated dish was exceptional. Chef Tu even served fish we had never tried before, despite my years of eating sushi all over Houston. Each piece was a true work of art…thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented, and layered with flavors that kept your taste buds engaged from start to finish. The experience was taken to another level, ending with a dessert that was just as unique and memorable as the rest of the meal. Nori Nori absolutely exceeded expectations, and we will definitely be back again with more friends
I decided to celebrate my husband’s birthday here, and it was phenomenal. It was just the two of us and our two best friends. I totally forgot to call ahead to request omakase, and since it was a Saturday (no omakase night), I thought we missed our chance — but our server, Khiem, went above and beyond. He somehow arranged for Chef Tu to cater an omakase experience just for us. Chef Tu was amazing, so friendly, and the whole menu that night felt spontaneous and exciting. Each dish surprised us with its flavors, the presentation, and the aroma. Every bite was unforgettable.
We were pleasantly surprised to come across this restaurant. The wagyu bone marrow tartare was simply the best! The sashimis were really fresh. We’ll definitely go back and
Really solid sushi restaurant with great service. The passion fruit margaritas were tasty. We ordered a couple of different hand rolls including the king salmon, spicy scallop, Toro, wagyu A5 and they were all full of flavor. The foie gras nigiri was great as well. Good place for date night!
Alright Houston… let’s talk about Nori Nori Sushi in Chinatown. I went in for their Sunday All-You-Can-Eat Omakase, and let me just say this: this might be one of the most economical premium omakase experiences in town — and yes, with actual premium fish. You know how some omakase spots are cute, artistic, minimal… and then your guy friends leave whispering, “I’m still hungry”? Not here. At Nori Nori, they are NOT playing the “tiny sushi for aesthetic only” game. They feed you. Properly. Fifteen courses properly. 🍽 The Experience Sunday special is AYCE omakase (Sunday only), and weekdays they offer regular omakase. Presentation? Creative. Playful. Elegant without trying too hard. They focus heavily on white fish selections, and let me tell you — the flavor layering is chef’s kiss. The cuts are done with beautiful纹路 patterns, so the texture hits differently. You don’t even need to drown it in soy sauce or wasabi. The fish speaks for itself. And here’s the secret weapon: They dry-age their fish for almost a week after arrival. That’s why the toro was buttery, the Canadian oysters were pristine, and every bite tasted concentrated and moist instead of watery and bland. Not everybody in Houston does that. Big respect. 🌯 The Hand Roll Flight (Yes, I Made It a Runway Show) They’re actually famous for their hand rolls, so of course I asked the sushi chef to line them up like a flight. And WOW. If you love fresh nori that stays crispy — they wrap the seaweed with an outer protective layer so when you’re busy taking pictures (like me 🙋🏻♀️), it doesn’t go soggy. You pull off the wrapper and boom — crispy outside, melt-in-your-mouth inside. Perfect contrast. The toro hand roll? Dangerous. The texture? Light crisp snap → soft fish explosion. 🦞 My Favorite Bite Lobster on toast. It looks like a cracker but it’s actually perfectly toasted bread — super crisp, delicate crunch, warm lobster richness on top. That bite alone? I’d go back. Also shoutout to the chopped hamachi with coconut jelly. It comes in a round bowl that looks like dessert — sweet coconut jelly balancing the savory fish. Unexpected. Playful. It works. 🍸 Service + Vibe The service is OUT of the world. It’s a team operation. If it’s drinks, the bar comes. If it’s sushi, the chefs handle it. Water never empty. Energy always attentive. Full bar. Beautiful cocktails. And yes — Tuesday All-Day Happy Hour. The decor? Velvet dark green booths in the back for date night vibes. Trendy, clean sushi bar upfront. Bar section if you’re just here for cocktails. Romantic. Modern. Polished. Final Verdict 👑 If you’re looking for: • Premium fish without starving after • Unique hand rolls • Creative appetizers • Beautiful presentation • A celebration spot in Chinatown Nori Nori is absolutely one of the best Japanese restaurants in the area right now. I’ll definitely be back. Because good sushi feeds your stomach. Great sushi feeds your ego. And this one did both. Approved by Review Queen 👑 Powered by Monkey King Media
We really enjoyed both of the chawanmushis, lamb chops were nice, the sweet shrimp was the best, and the scallop nigiri was very tasty as well. I had the nigiri flight and it was very good. My husband had the hand roll flight and he really liked one night stand. My drink was delish! Coming back for happy hour for sure.
The foie gras chawanmushi was amazing and the tofu in it is hot and melts in your mouth. The hand rolls are very fresh and the madai was my favorite. The lollipop lamb chops were tender and came out hot. The truffle mushroom pasta was actually really good and loved how it came out. Recommend making a reservation before coming because the place is small and bar seating will be your last resort instead of a table.
I came for my birthday and Ben was our server/bartender, and he made my birthday 10x better. The hospitality and environment was great, and the food/drinks was amazing! I’d come again to try the other things on the menu including the AYCE omakase. Thank you for the hospitality!!
Amazing ambient with good food. Service is quick and staffs are friendly. I got the rolls and sashimi for 2, which were super fresh and not fishy at all.
Their hand rolls were so fresh and delicious. Some of the best fish I have had in Houston. Our waiter answered all of our questions and gave us recommendations. We had a great time.
Kaitlyn was our waitress tonight and she was amazing. This restaurant is high caliber but also has a relaxed vibe. The reverse happy hour is fire as well. 5 stars, thanks NoriNori
My husband and I came in just about last minute for my birthday. The team went above and beyond to ensure I had an amazing meal. Tu took excellent care of us. It was literally the most special birthday of my life. A night I will never forget.
Trying out their Sunday AYCE omakase. I gotta say, it is definitely exceeding my expectation. I am surprised they even serve uni, A5 wagyu, foie gras, truffle! They are not cheap with portion size either. Even though after the first round, most of the dishes are nigiri and hand rolls, I still think it is worth $150 per person. Chef is so nice and let us try different stuff. Everyone in my party is complimenting the flavor of each dish. Highly recommend it!
Very good experience, the food is amazing! As sushi lovers, we have high standards but this place is at the top of the list now. Excellent service as well! We will be back ❤️❤️❤️
Super cozy + cute atmosphere and delicious bites! All the nigiri and crudos were stellar. Great lil happy hour spot too!
Friendly staff and good vibes during happy hour. Our favorite was the spicy tuna and the toro handroll. Hope they bring back the Durian Crème Brûlée soon!
I went during Houston Restaurant Week and have been craving it ever since! The food is fresh and delicious and the service is great. Definitely recommend! Especially the foie gras chawanmushi.
One of the best hand roll sushi I’ve so far. I love their fries too. Our server Khiem is friendly and funny

Such a delicious place for a quick sushi bite or a fun date night! I got the nori box with my bf and it was the perfect sharable item and then we also a la carte their scallop foie gras hand roll and the mushroom trio hand roll was soooo good. The drinks were delicious - lyche martini and nori dirty martini

Went here with some buddies to try their AYCE omakase. The atmosphere, presentation, taste, and staff expertise were all top-notch. However, it wasn’t quite “all you can eat” it felt more like a timed omakase where they pace the servings for the entire dining group. I understand everyone eats at different speeds, but it can definitely slow things down for others. I wish that part had been clarified beforehand, but overall, I’d still recommend this place for the quality and experience.

We really enjoy the sushi here. My fave is the scallop foie gras sushi. We got 2 rounds of that. The only thing I would pass on is the uni pasta. It was too heavy for my taste. Our server Khiem was awesome! Very attentive and gave us helpful suggestions.
Beautiful restaurant, we really liked the vibes. Seafood was nice and fresh. There were some good dishes and some were average. We really enjoyed the Hokkaido scallops, all the hand rolls, and the lamb chops. The nigiri were ok and the Hamachi collar was roasted well but they put too much chili powder on it, which overpowered the fish. Overall a good meal. It wasn’t that busy and service was slow. Server was attentive and helpful. We ordered both HRW and a la carte. Would come again for the hand rolls and sit at the bar.
