Authentic Chinese flavors, delicious handmade noodles and dumplings. and possibly best 包子 i had in a while!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND their oil splashed noodle. It’s one of the best things I’ve had during my trip to Houston. This is such a small hole in the wall. You order at the counter and they bring you your food to your table. There is a counter for you to get water and utensils.
We ordered Rou Jia Mo and right way I know it is right. We loved it. The flavor of pig ears appetizer was good but the texture was a little bit hard to chew. The lamb soup was good too. Satisfied with the simple meal.
Went here with a group of friends and lemme tell ya - DELICIOUS. Food was so good my eyes started watering. Got the Pork Cabbage Dumplings, Beef Onion Dumplings, and Pan Fried Buns & more. Highly recommend all!
Their friend dough stick(You Tiao 油条)is soooo Yummy!! Good taste paired with sweet soy milk. The fish dumpling is special and delicious! you rarely see it in any other places. Dumpling is very authentic Chinese flavor 100%recommended Price is good
Been trying to try this place for a while now and finally did. Good food. Good service and good price. I had liang pi, overall good flavor but the noodle was a bit soft. Also ordered a pork bun. Delicious! Will try their dumplings next time! Youpomian, soy milk and chives pockets are all on point 😍
Unusual place. Very hard to find because the signage is buried between many other stores. Atmosphere was pretty strange. Dinning area is also their dry storage and their reach in fridge. We sat down but then discovered it was counter service after a while. We had to use pictures posted on google to order. Food was beyond delicious. I seriously recommend everything we ate. We had dumplings, leek pancake, some beef flat noodle dish with chili flakes and bok choy and we also tried 2 different buns. We ordered something called a Chinese hamburger but it never was served. Overall it was really delicious food and an interesting cultural experience.
You must try the chili oil noodles, they will leave you happy and with a full belly. This small place has delicious food, I tried the fish, pork and leak dumplings and the beef onion bun both were equally amazing!
Saw this place on social media and it's very good! The oil splashed noodles were the best thing I had, and their dumplings are pretty good too! The fried bao are good as well. Atmosphere is nice and homey, prices are Abita more thsn others around the area but not bad at all, and the food is tasty! Def recommend!
Food is amazing and owner is super nice. Maybe my new favorite restaurant in Houston. Wish I got a photo of the pork dumplings but ate them too fast!

Great Xian style handmade noodles. Fresh noodles paired nicely with vinegar sauce (or broth?) at bottom of bowl, and fresh-made chili oil - you can tell the difference. Unfussy and fast service. Frozen dumplings available to go. I’ll be back!

Just hit up Northern Pasta in Houston’s Chinatown for the first time, and I’m giving it a solid 4/5 stars! The hand-pulled noodles were straight-up amazingly chewy, fresh, and served piping hot. The youtiao was legit the best I’ve ever had, super crispy and golden. Prices are super affordable, and the staff were really nice, making it a chill spot. I also tried the pan-fried buns, which had a great texture but were kinda meh on flavor, missing that extra punch. On the cons, the wait was pretty long, and it felt a bit chaotic since it’s so busy. The place is small with not many tables, so seating’s tight. Also, the sweet soy milk was a little watered down. Still, those noodles and youtiao are worth the trip, and I’ll definitely swing by again!
The food is good, but be prepared for a long wait during busy weekends. I visited on Juneteenth Saturday (June 21) and arrived at 9:50 a.m. It took 15 minutes just to place my order, and another 25 minutes before my food was served. There were only two staff working—one managing the front and prepping delivery orders, and one serving the dining area. The restaurant seems seriously understaffed during peak hours, and the service flow could use improvement. From what I observed, they tend to fully prepare and serve all items for one group before moving on to the next. A more efficient approach would be to prepare and serve items in smaller batches, rotating between groups in the order of arrival, rather than completing one group’s entire order before even starting the next. Overall, I’d recommend the food, but only if you’re not in a rush and are visiting during off-peak hours.
Went to Northern Pasta to try the handmade noodle dish. We also ordered the pan fried buns. Both were good. This is a small mom and pop restaurant located in Bellaire in the Metropole Center.
Cash Only for purchases of $10 or more - FYI Anyway, I saw this place on TikTok and I had to try once I saw the “oil noodles”.. delicious. Everything taste so fresh and homemade it kind of addictive. Personally, there were a few things I would change about the atmosphere but it was still peaceful and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this place and return here as well. Worth the money.
I had oil splashed noodles with beef. The needle is great. Chewy oily and spicy. The beef on the other hand is a problem. I like that they came in big chunks, but they're cold and way too chewy. It would be much better if the beef was boiled a little longer to tenderize or if they're going to serve it cold they should slice the beef into thin pieces. I recommend coming here just to eat the noodles by itself. Don't add the beef.

Northern Pasta in Houston is a hidden gem for anyone craving authentic and comforting Northern Chinese flavors. The 豆腐花 (tofu pudding) was silky and lightly sweet — a perfect way to start or end the meal. Their dumplings are clearly handmade, with juicy fillings and nicely textured wrappers, and the noodles are fresh, chewy, and full of flavor. Everything tasted homemade and satisfying. If you’re looking for simple, well-executed dishes that hit the spot, Northern Pasta is definitely worth a visit.

Pretty good north-east China style food, with dumpling, buns and noodles. Friendly service from owners and it's like home-cooking experience. Lamb soup is good!
Been here twice and the food is very delicious and. Different form your westernized Chinese food. I def never complain about the quality of food The main issue is the service and environment is poorly kept up Nothing agisntthe workers or owners some things people may have issues with - a/c never works and it's consistently warm/hot, this and no circulation/fans it's Abit rough to eat inside - service is slow and only two or three people work. The entire time, so you may have to wait awhile especially if it busy. I am usually here when theirs only to go orders or one party of 4. - seems they only speak Chinese, brushing up some Chinese words is reccomend for requests. -cash for any orders under $10 ---! Don't get me wrong the food is delicious and I love the wide noodles they serve , it would be nice if there was more comfort to dine in

Do not expect good customer service here, just good Chinese food you order in the back counter and be sure to bring cash, you grab your own water and utensils, they will bring the food out to you at least. It is a but cramp in here so it is not handicap friendly here. At least it looks very clean in here. The food is authentic and delicious. The English here is not the best. But if you do not know Chinese, you will still be able to order your food. with no issue.

Unfortunately our experience did not align with the positive comments posted on Instagram (Houston food influencers). The woman who was taking orders bluntly commanded from the register to come get our own menus. Then she took our order while eating her lunch (chewing food and talking). The food is very simple and prepared with no skill. The beef was very tough (plate of meat on the left), red bean bun was super dry, and the seaweed salad (yellow pile) was not enjoyable. The savory silken tofu texture was not silken but instead "stretchy" and silken tofu should not have a weird "elastic" texture. The restaurant was unclean. That's enough.
