Dinner was wonderful and delicious! Stephanie did an awesome job with our table. The beef fajitas were soft, tender and juicy as always. Recommend getting the garlic butter on the side. Of course, you cannot beat the homemade flour tortillas that are hot and fresh and ready on the spot! The frijoles a la charra were very tasty, along with the rice. The drinks, especially margaritas could be better, but the food is definitely the star here. The chips are thin and delicious along with the salsa. You can also ask for the green avocado salsa for a little extra, but very well worth it! The other entrees looked very good, next time! Thank you Stephanie!

What a great place to enjoy some of the best homemade tortillas, margaritas, and listening to a great mariachi band. We celebrated a friends birthday (reservations recommended) before heading to NRG for a concert. It was close to the venue and had just the right amount of fun to get us ready for the rest of the evening. We ordered the chicken and beef fajitas for 4. The chicken had such great blackened flavor, and the beef was very tender. The entree was plenty for 4 with leftovers to spare. I would definitely recommend this place but be prepared with reservations It was extremely busy. Our food actually made it to our table before the drinks but was not a long wait for food.

Really good Mexican Food! We came in hungry before a long day of travel and left super satisfied. The service was amazing and all the food we ordered was delicious. Huge portions and the chips and salsa fill you up real good. Highly recommend the cheese enchiladas and chicken fajita quesadilla! Both were perfect to share.

The chicken was good but a little dry). The tortilla soup was a little salty but tasty. Other than that, the food and service was fantastic. The food is always fabulous. My best friend from Ohio flew in and the first thing she has to have is Pappasitos. We asked for the patio and was told they weren’t serving on the patio, then after sitting us in the back in the darkest spot we watched them seat people on the patio. Very disappointed.

The service was great! The hostess Juana was polite and friendly. We didn't have a reservation but we were were seated and we were very comfortable. The manager was very accommodating. The manager at Pappadeaux and the over staffed hostess need more training in customer service, being polite/kind. The manager needs refresher training in management/leadership skills. On a great note: Joey and Lorenzo are attentive, polite and professional. Joey was exceptionally patient and kind. He had no problem with snapping pictures. He is awesome! Kudos to Joey and Lorenzo. We shared an order of medium rare beef fajitas with a link of jalapeno cheese sausage and a ground beef enchilada, and a large bowl of chicken tortilla soup, all of which was the best we'd ever had. The flour tortillas were just as good as the fixings I put in them. We got the 'fitas with grilled onions and grilled jalapeno slices and some fresh slices too. The large bowl of charro beans complimented everything very well. One of the managers noticed we had to wait a little bit and comped us a piece of tres leches cake....excellent service and cake. We'd ordered a side of guacamole and didn't get it, our waitress Johnisha promptly had it removed and kept our teas and one soda replenished.

Went for a friend bday. Wendy was awesome the food was good. I had the watermelon margarita frozen and the spicy pineapple mule both were a treat. I started with the chicken tortilla soup and topped off with the trio.

We asked to be seated in the covered patio area. Even though the weather was nice, the patio area is spacious, has a great atmosphere. It has fans, a television. Great place to relax and have conversation. The food was amazing and served to us promptly.

As always everything was wonderful, the service is great, they text you when your table is ready so you can go sit in your car if you want. The food is always wonderful. The fajitas are super tender and great flavor, the tortillas are amazing, and the chips and salsa are great.

Once we left the Houston Zoo we headed straight there for some delicious food. The placed was moderately packed but the spacing and distancing was legit. Once we arrived we were seated immediately and out server Caitlynn was very nice. I ordered the watermelon margarita Caitlyn recommended and it was delicious. I ordered the Fajita Beef Nachos, Huey ordered the Agujas which was slow cooked ribs with a touch of sweetness served with beans and rice absolutely delicious, fall of the bone. The fajita Nachos were superb. They were pretty full with toppings. It was so much food we have two to go boxes. Everything was absolutely delicious. We were not disappointed. Full as hell. So if you're in or passing through Houston stop by Pappasito's Cantina. You'll be happy you did

We always order a family style fajita meal and I love that they make it tender, juicy and just right for everyone's taste. Their margarita is more on the sweet side which we prefer the saltier version but their food presentation is not bad at all.

OMGGGG I have lovestruck with this place. Food was amazing, the vibe was so fun and cozy, staffs were friendly and attentive. I do love the garlic butter sauce, even though it is a little bit salty to me but it pairs well with beef and chicken for sure. Seafood ceviche was out of my expectation. My initial Tex-Mex experience took place at this restaurant chain, and it surpassed my expectations. The free salsa and chips were flavorful, and the adult drinks were also enjoyable. Our server was courteous and efficient, and the atmosphere was welcoming. The Watermelon Margarita was a highlight of the meal.

The best TEX-MEX food I’ve had! So delicious!! A little pricey and keep in mind it is Tex-Mex but they have HOMEMADE flour tortillas!! Super delicious food. Had a wait time of about 30 minutes on a Tuesday evening but we were in no rush. Service was great and really great margaritas!

Pappasito’s was delicious, it was savory and on point. They were well prepared for us and served us promptly. Can’t thank our waitress enough for her great service for all of us. The fajitas were so flavorful. Highly recommend them as an item to try. Parking was a little difficult. Lots of free parking spots for take out, but not many handicap parking spots. Just easier to park in the rear. Cant wait to return to try more. Don’t think there’s one dish that wouldn’t be delicious. Until next time.

This was a great place for Mexican eats. The food was fresh and tasteful. The drinks are pretty strong and the salsa with chips is a fresh starter to your taste buds. I really enjoyed the atmosphere we sat outside and enjoyed the weather(it was hot) but the fans were blowing.

I hadn’t been to Pappasito’s in at least 20 years (we live in another state) and made it a point to visit the next time we were in Houston. It did not disappoint. The margaritas were delicious, the service was outstanding and the dinner was quite tasty (stewed beef tacos and grilled shrimp tacos). To top it off, the manager comped our dessert because our drinks took a few extra minutes. We had the sopaipillas and they melted in our mouths. I hope to be back much sooner the next time.

June 2024: Dined in for fajitas; family member had the appetizer ribs and offered me one. I had them at the 290 location (delicious with a little sweetness when dipped in the sauce), so I wasn't expecting my mouth to be on 🌶🌶⛑after biting into the rib. Family member mentioned "they are spicy" after I said the ribs were HOT and viewed the spice on another rib 🤨. They enjoyed them - I was 'one and done'...the appetizer ribs are flavorful, but spicy (photo provided...). Our dinners were VERY good. Family member had a lunch entree which included bacon wrapped shrimp, beef and chicken fajitas. I selected the combination beef and chicken fajitas with a lobster tail. Slight mark off on my plate - the lobster tail was a bit too done and salty, perhaps due to the butter and salt added. I wiped the charred top with a lemon wedge to remove some of the salt, cut it into pieces and added it in my corn tortilla with beef chicken, guac and pico. Photos taken, and Sabrina was a dutiful waitress. Placed a pickup order for the Fiesta pack #1. Items were packaged well and upon arriving home, the food remained quite warm and was served immediately. Mom was pleased, which was the reason the pack was purchased so she could enjoy her special day 💝. The quail, ribs, sausage, and fajitas were flavorful (not too spicy or salty), the salsa and guacamole were fresh, the black beans were great and I was happy with my corn tortillas (everyone else wanted flour - sure, if you want to make a burrito 😅...). The fiesta packs are a nice option if you want a little bit of everything - it would be nice if management consider including items with the "fajitas pack" as well. Still, in terms of quality, Pappasito's Cantina has not failed to provide delicious food - which is why it remains a (conveniently located) to place for us when we want Tex-Mex cuisine. "R.I.P shoutout" for the local Mom/Pop Mexican restaurant that was located on Griggs before reaching S. 75th street; their food was really good as well 😔.

We came here today with a HUGE group — about 20 soccer players plus all their parents and siblings — right in between tournament games on a Sunday afternoon. Honestly, we thought it would be impossible to find a place that could take us on such short notice, but when we called, the manager said he could accommodate us. We were shocked (and relieved)! Not only did they make room for our entire team, but they also got all of us fed and back out the door in under an hour so we could make it to our championship game. That’s no small feat with that many people ordering, eating, and paying. The staff was incredible — fast, friendly, and somehow juggling our giant group along with several other large parties and even birthday celebrations happening at the same time. The servers and managers never missed a beat. Everyone was so accommodating, patient, and kind. I can’t say enough good things about how smoothly everything went. This team truly went above and beyond for us, and we are so grateful. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great service and people who really care.

A recommendation for the area if you are in need of a giant plate of delicious food and a unique and delicious margarita. I had the queso fundido with the steak and it blew me away as I never had anything quite as tasty as that when it comes to queso. My meal which included the bacon wrapped shrimp, cheese enchilada and gigantic taco were excellent, filling, and left me satisfied. I would come back here just for those bacon wrapped shrimp anytime.

I’m so full right now that I can hardly type this review! Good service and great food. Oversized portions and a price-point to match! I love their refried beans and I could drink their salsa. I’m a fan of the beef fajitas (they serve it medium rare) but I also like the chicken fajitas and the mantequilla sauce (melted butter) that accompanies the sizzling platter. Plates are huge … even the lunch size. I brought half of my lunch home and I’m about to devour what’s left!

Pappasito’s is touch and go. The servers work so hard and I have never had a bad experience with service. But they get backed up with food and drinks. Again, not the fault of servers or bartenders. The drinks are food are amazing! Big issue with the atmosphere is the closeness of the tables. Barely any elbow room. No one should sit at a restaurant and be so close to another table that they hear conversations around them. Pappasito’s - please change this. I love your food so much! But I digress - get the queso! Get the Reserva Margarita! And I think it’s Wednesday nights for fajitas!

We had a large party because we were celebrating a birthday. Our server was nice and took care of us. He was busy with our table of about 11 people, but I think he had other tables also. Some people at the table had issues with their food, not because of the server, but because of incomplete description on the menu and because of the kitchen. The manager came to the table and made things right. Overall, we had a pretty good experience, and the food was amazing. It was also super busy because it was the first night of Beyoncé 's Cowboy Carter concert.

The whole table will turn into devouring. Their queso is really good too. We started off with the Pappasito’s Famous Shrimp Brochettes. HEAVENLY AMAZING! We ordered the Family Platter with steak fajitas. All aspects were spot on: steak bits, shrimp, chicken, refried beans, queso, shredded cheese, tons of guacamole and sour cream. YUM! The portions are quite large at Pappasito's. We ordered to share, and still couldn't finish.

My only minor complaint was the noise level, which can get quite high during peak hours, but it adds to the lively atmosphere. Overall, Pappasito's offers a fantastic Tex-Mex experience that’s hard to beat. Definitely worth a visit for anyone craving authentic and flavorful dishes!

The place is always busy with a varied staff, each of whom is on the spectrum of "just being trained" to "seasoned server". Sometimes you get the former and service can be a bit spotty. But, tonight, dining at the bar, service was great. The Reserva Margarita with Tajin on the rim was really good, just the right balance of tart and sweet. The homemade salsa was also good. For an entree, I had the Coronado (three brochette-style shrimp, a cheese enchilada & a crispy beef taco) and I really liked it. It's a nice combination of flavors and texture. I've been many times and will definitely be back.

solid drinks, food, & service. everything came quickly & hot & fresh. grilled onions on the fajita plate were perfection. the tortillas aren’t as soft as i’d personally like, but the side dishes (rice, beans, pico, & guac) made up for it.

The vibe at this location was amazing! We waited at the bar to be seated and were greeted by Banda. It was a nice touch and made thw wait delightful. The drink were cute and delicious. The food was okay. My chicken was dry and a bit bland the server also forgot to bring out my sides and tortillas but she was polite and quick. Overall the restataunt was great and I def recommend if you are enjoying a meal with friends or family for any occasion casual or even a Birthday dinner.

Food: Our group ordered Caesar Salad, Enchiladas, Lamb, Tacos and a couple of other dishes. Everyone was beyond please with their meals and most of us went home with leftovers. The service was extremely poor. We saw the waiter maybe twice and when we asked to be moved by the hostess to a different table she told us that there were no other tables available even though we could see five other empty tables. Three of those tables stayed empty the whole time we were there over the next 45 minutes. I’d recommend going to the one in Sugar land or in upper Kirby. Update, from June 26th during pandemic. Service was better but still not on par. Manager tried to correct issues and even comped the meal to try to make up for it. They are taking precautions because of the pandemic. Although the menu is now more limited as they try to stream line because of change in business.

Even though the food look good, the service did not do it any justice. Half of my food came first and then the other half came almost 35- 40 minutes later. I had a fajitas with carne asada en las tortillas or my rice and beans never came untill I was almost done. The manager came up to us and was very nice, she did not charged me for the food. If it wasn't for her I will probably give this place a one-star. So kudos to the manager. Overall the food was okay.

There’s so many Mexican restaurants in the state of Texas. My Carvana Diablo was pretty good, but too much food not enough shrimp to share. The hostess was very professional our server was amazing

Took my brother and sister-in-law to celebrate his birthday and the place was packed. Waited 20 to 30 minutes to be seated and then we were seated in the area reserved for parties away from everyone else. Because of this it felt as if we were forgotten. The food was overpriced and the portions were small. We ordered a platter for 4 and it barely fed 3 of us.

I've gone here a handful of times over the past year. The food is always delicious but the service is awful. People pay very little attention to you unless you're in a large group, I mean I get it, they're going to get bigger tips from large groups but when I go 15 minutes before my drink order is taken and no refills for 20+ minutes it's too much. I don't plan on returning despite the food being delicious.

Way too expensive. Saving grace was our waiter, he was fantastic. The chicken was pretty tasty, but the rice, beans, and other sides was no different than any other Mexican restaurant that charges half the price. Margarita drink was pretty small for $13 price tag.

I was really excited for this place. This was my first time going. I probably would’ve really liked it if I wasn’t a Gringo’s person first. The chips are too thin and break off in even the liquid salsa. The salsa is hard to pick up the chucks because it has so much liquid and the juice is pretty much all that sticks. The regular queso is almost $10 and is super plain with a small serving. If you’re spending $10 for bland melted cheese, you should at least get enough to where two people who love salsa more don’t finish it. My entree itself (seafood enchiladas) was really good! I liked that they incorporated scallops with the shrimp. I got this dish because it’s very similar to a dish I love at Gringo’s (except theirs is with chicken and crawfish) and I definitely prefer Gringo’s over this place considering Gringo’s is half price and has higher quality food than this place, but it’s still a decent establishment. It’s very loud and so you wouldn’t want to go here if you have sensory overload issues. The servers were friendly and let us move to the furthest table in the section so it would be at least a smidge quieter. Overall, this place is about double the price most Tex Mex places when there are a lot of higher quality Tex Mex restaurants in this area so you should probably shop around rather than come here, but it’s worth at least trying once

CAR WAS BROKEN INTO. Do not leave your belongings in plain sight. I brought my entire team from all over the country for a group dinner. They broke into the car and slashed my other friend’s tire. Food was delicious though. Service speed could improve.

My husband and I visited Pappasito’s Cantina for the first time and sat at the bar. It was a moderately busy evening but not packed, but active. We ordered the Sizzling Beef Fajitas, which unfortunately didn’t live up to the name. The steak was overly salty, and the overall flavor was underwhelming. To make matters worse, our corn tortillas didn’t arrive until we were nearly finished eating. Service was inconsistent. We had to wave multiple times to get someone’s attention while sitting at the bar for drinks, which felt awkward and a bit frustrating. It wasn’t terrible, but it certainly wasn’t polished. That said, the manager was nice and understanding. After hearing our concerns, she kindly removed the dish from our bill, which we truly appreciated. That gesture alone elevated our experience and is the reason we’re giving 3 stars instead of 1. We may give it another try in the future, but we hope for a smoother experience next time.

Service, atmosphere and food was good. However, the low rating is because we didn’t enjoy our visit as the table space was too small to fit in what everyone ordered. We spent a lot of time reorganizing our stuff as it was uncomfortable. All the 4 chair arrangements around us looked cramped to me.

First time here, was sat at a table. No server came over, 7 minutes later,I finally asked for menus, still no server. There are Several servers standing around the bar on their phones. Don’t come here. It’s just a name like On the Border or Taco Bell

Place was recommended and looked awesome... Especially the homemade tortillas. To bad I didn't get to try any. Was told 30-45 minutes. At 30, I went to check on the queue since we were standing next to a couple of tables that sat empty for a good twenty minutes. My question (for my party of six) was "could you just move those two take together?" To which the trying was "they told us we can no longer do that, so no." At 43min, we left. Especially after seeing fajitas were $30 for 1-2 people (and no portions I saw delivered justified that price). Rough calculation would have put dover at $130+ without drinks. No thanks.

We're regulars here and the service is consistently going down hill. Dined out yesterday and our server disappeared for thirty minutes at a time. We had to get our own tortillas for our fajitas on two occasions, and the same for our water refills. Our drinks sat at the bar after made long enough to melt. To top it off, my friend left his raybans at the table and going back just a bit later, they were gone. No employee turned them in. (Our fault) Glad to see some competition opening across the freeway. 👏

I had been at Pappasito’s Cantina on Saturday (12/6). I was very very tired mentally. Very stressful in my job. I asked a quiet place because I would like to relax my mind. She was very rude saying that was only table that was available. There were too much tables. I left and I went to Pappadeaux. I got a wonderful food, nice guys and quiet place as I was looking for. I deeply recommend Pappadeaux instead Pappasito’s Cantina.

I usually only make reviews when I'm happy with a service but today that changed. We went to dinner with our kids and grandkids after the auto and boat show. We waited at the table a very long time before a server came. Finally the server came to take drink orders and drinks took forever. Didn't even bring water for the table. Took forever to get someone's attention to get water finally. Finally get drinks and order food and didn't get our tortillas. (we ordered fajitas.) Also ordered jalapenos that never arrived. We mentioned that when we asked for bill and they just said sorry I'll take it off the bill. Lol. Finally flagged someone down for tortillas. Food got cold. Bottom line, food was just ok and service was terrible!!! We will not be going back. To spend so much money for hardly any service I would rather just order in. Service just isn't what is used to be and I'm truly disappointed in Pappasitos as it used to have better training and standards for customer service.
