Ordered mixed grill, hummus, lentil soup and the ariyan yogurt drink. The meat was so fresh, tender, juicy and well spiced. The fresh bread was hot, fluffy and very tasty. The ariyan drink was very refreshing. This location is incredible. Right in the heart of Rice Village. Staff was very polite and super fast service.

We tried this Houston gem on a Friday night for dinner —we enjoyed their covered outdoor patio filled with plants and moody lighting…We ordered the humus, which was smooth and fresh, served with spices, oil, and thick pita bread. The bread was warm and soft and paired so well with the hummus. The mixed meat grill was plentiful for 2 adults. It came with chicken and beef kebabs, cubed chicken tandoori, shredded lamb, steak, rice and a salad — a feast fit for a King where you get to try so many delectable Turkish flavors. Truly recommend this gem!

The food was amazing, the meat was tender & seasoned to perfection - everyone had good things to say about their order. The interior is decorated beautifully & the air conditioning was a blessing especially in the houston heat. We got baklava for dessert & it was a table favourite!! Good for small or large group settings & the staff is really professional.

I’m not sure how authentic it is, but the food is really decent. I particularly enjoyed the rice which is slightly creamy and moist with interesting seasoning. I also like the eggplant and salad.

First and foremost, I just want to start by saying this place is incredible! I hadn’t eaten all day and had spent most of it traveling to get to Texas and this was my first stop for a meal with my father who also joined me. I wasn’t in the mood for burgers, pizza, Mexican, etc.. I just wanted something different that hit the spot. I came across Istanbul on Google and after a few reviews, I know I had to go check it out. The staff is very friendly and very accommodating. The sat me down right away. I got an outside seat in the patio area, which I recommend if you’re there on a nice sunset, I went ahead and ordered the combination plate that included chicken lamb, and beef over rice with a nice salad got myself some sparkling water and for dessert I went ahead and got a slice of baklava which was also warmed up. I’ve never had that before. The food was everything I wanted and more it was tasty. You can taste all the flavors of the ingredients the rice was buttery. The salad was crisp and overall, I was a very satisfied customer. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to scratch that middle eastern craving because this place definitely tops them. I will definitely be back before I leave Houston.

Excellent Turkish/Mediterranean food with great atmosphere. We came on a Wednesday night and was seated inside quickly. They also have a nice patio. We ordered Aryan, a savory yogurt drink, chicken kabob plate, lamb kabob plate, Hummus, and roasted eggplant purée. We enjoyed them all, especially the hummus, which pairs very well with the complimentary bread. For dessert, we had baklava, which was flaky and one of the best I’ve ever had. The servers were very nice and checked on us multiple times! Highly recommend!

Hopdoddy was a solid burger spot with great fries and sauces. We ordered two different burgers and a couple of fry options, and everything came out fresh and hot. The Parmesan truffle fries were my favorite super flavorful and tossed in a big metal bowl so everything gets coated evenly. The seasoned fries were also really good, especially with their dipping sauce. Hopdoddy is a little overrated. The burgers themselves were juicy and well-built. The bun was soft and buttery, and the toppings were fresh. The bacon on the burger was thick and cooked perfectly, which I loved. Overall, great fries, good burgers, and generous portions. A bit pricier than a typical burger place, but the flavor and quality is personal preference.

Me and my daughter are fans of Hopdoddy burgers. Our favorite is the poblano llano burger it’s not in the menu anymore and now it’s considered part of their “secret menu”. This burger has been our favorite for years and we always ordered this one along with some truffle Parmesan fries. The staff was nice, nothing over the top, I mean, it’s a burger spot, you serve yourself your dressing and your drinks and they bring the food to your assigned table, the service is fast, and the burgers are always good!

I have been here about three time now. Get something different everytime. If you order online, there is a box to specify what you want wxactly, you can tell them less seasoning or salt on your burger. Tried the Wagyu snash, and it was tasty. I love carmelized onions, mushrooms, and just added mayo. It was perfect. Gotta say, one of the saltiest burgers I have ever tasted. I loved their chicken sandwich when i tried it the first time. Also tried their Tres Leches Shake that is made with gluten free cookies, or toppings, all their shakes are gluten free. I could not finish burger, ate half, it was very satisfying. Just too salty. The fries were okay, did not get salt and pepper in them, and they were nice and crispy.

Ordered Uber Eats Wagyu Burger requested bacon, but there was NO bacon in my burger. I liked the fries. It was a good portion, although a bit soggy. Next time, give me my bacon. 🥓

I had a great lunch at Hopdoddy in Rice Village! The double bacon jam burger was packed with flavor, and the truffle fries were crispy and delicious. Paired with a refreshing drink, it hit all the right spots. The atmosphere is lively, and the service was friendly and quick. My only gripe is the price—$25 plus tip feels steep for a burger lunch. Still, the quality is top-notch, and I’d definitely come back for another round!

The parmesan truffle fries were amazing!! The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was fine but we enjoyed the el diablo burger.

Lahmacun is good. Doner & rice is not good; the meat is not soft and not thin, think of it like a mediocre shwarma. Sutlac is pretty good. Stick to lahmacun/pide and you'll be happy. Maybe we were unlucky with doner or this place doesn't do it very well.

Food were delicious bustling with flavors very good quality, but less quantity. Some of the food prices are reasonable, but I have a complaint regarding.Chops it was $32 with four pieces of chop. I think the price is not reasonable but it’s OK because it was in the high-end neighborhood but we thoroughly enjoyed the food. Everybody should give a try if you’re not going to try what would you know you’re missing the taste so try it and enjoy delicious food

This was my first time trying Turkish food and I thoroughly enjoyed multiple aspects of this experience. The service was very attentive and friendly, you get oil and bread for the table. It was SO GOOD. The bread is fantastic. We got Dolma, Sultan Kebab, and Petlican Kebab. It was my first time trying Dolma and it was amazing! The meat (lamb) in our entrees were full of flavor and delicious. The rice was pretty plain tho on my Sultan Kebab. Otherwise I really enjoyed this dining experience. The parking is minimal but they do have a couple spots in front of the restaurant. They also have outdoor-ish seating. It’s kinda like a tent patio with fans. It was a nice place to sit on a warm sunny day.

The place was clean and ambiance was okay. Their food was good. Not as tasty as I want it to be, but it was good. Their bread and sauce tasted very good, I was already half full even with the complementary food alone. So our additional orders really made me so full. We ordered the Istanbul pizza and kebabs. 3 Stars – Great Vibes, Great Staff, But the Food Just Missed the Mark We visited Hopdoddy at night, and the atmosphere in the area was honestly one of the best parts of the experience. The location is beautiful—safe, clean, and lively even after dark. You’ll see people walking their dogs, couples enjoying late-night conversations, and groups gathered outside at tables from all the nearby restaurants. It’s the kind of place where you want to stay and hang out. The outdoor shared seating is such a cool idea—it’s relaxed, inviting, and really creates a community feel. Most of the parking around the area is paid, so keep that in mind, but it felt very secure and well-lit at night. Now, onto the food… which unfortunately didn’t live up to the hype. We’ve had several friends rave about Hopdoddy, so we came in with high expectations. The staff was incredibly nice—seriously, every person we interacted with was friendly and helpful. That part was fantastic. We ordered a burger, a chicken salad, and a lemonade. The lemonade was the best thing we had—fresh, tart, and flavorful. The burger had a decent grill-char flavor, which I appreciated, but the texture was really off. It was overly soft, kind of mushy, and reminded me more of crumbled-up dog food than a real burger. Harsh, I know—but that’s exactly how it felt. We didn’t even finish it. We ended up tossing it in the outdoor seating area. The salad was also a miss. I took one bite and couldn’t go any further. The chicken patty on top was rubbery and off-putting, and it made the whole salad feel like a waste. Honestly, I didn’t even eat it. To make matters worse, they were out of the truffle fries I had been excited to try. It just felt like one letdown after another. That said, the pricing was actually pretty affordable. We spent about $40 for two meals and a drink, which is fair for the area. The restaurant itself was cute and well-decorated, but the bathrooms were dirty and needed serious attention. I really wanted to love this place—great location, amazing staff, nice vibe—but the food just didn’t deliver. I’d come back to the area in a heartbeat, but sadly, Hopdoddy won’t be on my list next time.

This Hopdoddy location is severely lacking in food quality and operations. Ordered and paid for a few wagyu burgers and then heard the kitchen say they were out on a Sunday evening at 6pm. If I hadn’t spoken up and asked about it, I think they would’ve just served us regular burgers. We asked them to refund the Wagyu burgers and we started our order over. Then they served us the wrong burger and had to remake a burger. It was a hot mess. Unfortunately the burger was dry and lacked flavor. Hopdoddy used to be my fav burger place. Maybe I need to try another location and make sure they have the Wagyu burgers before I go.

The burgers were good Parmesan truffle fries were OLD and hard. And my kids fries were cold and old. For waiting 20 minutes for the order and paying 10$ just for truffle fries, everything should have been made fresh to order. Staff not receptive and not very welcoming. The men’s bathroom was worse than a gas stations and had ZERO soap. We came about 3pm and wouldn’t come back

I ordered food to be delivered. They decided to close early because it was slow but wait till my driver got there to tell him. waited my time. Luckily Mary'z is open late and able to be delivered.
