Where do i start? Beef noodle soup was one of the best i have ever had. Dumpling was out of this world. Fried chicken was so good my picky 4 year old finished the whole thing(she never does). Ladies at the cashier were amazing. So sweet and nice. I would give this place 10 star if i could. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I highly recommend coming here if you're in the mood for some Chinese food! Their food is delicious and in BIG portions. My wife and I underestimated their portions, and we had to take the rest to go, but it was so good. 😋🤤 Their pork fried dumplings and pork buns were 🔥 🤤🤌 Their popular beef roast noodles were also very good. Just be mindful that it comes in a pretty BIG bowl. On top of all this the staff is very nice. The elderly lady who brings out the food is a sweetheart, btw. We'll definitely come back. Worth ever penny for the quality of food and generous portions 🍜🍱

The food is AMAZING 10/10, had the pan fried chicken cabbage Dumplings that were phenomenal! And had the chicken and dumpling soup! All of this was so good I ordered the chicken with steak noodle (rice) to try more. I ended up ordering it wrong (100% on me i said noodles instead of rice) and the lady in the front was so incredibly kind and helped me get the right plate to try!! This was our first time here and the service was so genuine, I hadn't had such incredible hospitality in such a long time. The prices were so affordable for everything we got. Will always come back when we are in houston!!

Good and simple Taiwanese dishes. Easy counter service, inexpensive, pictures on the menu, and many boxed goods ready for takeaway. I enjoyed my Rice with Chicken Cutlet and their pan fried dumplings are also delicious.

What can I say but WOW! I'm so glad I checked this place out. This little mom n pop shop is COOKING! It is a counter service style where you order everything at the counter and the nice, polite lady hands you a number and you seat yourself. You go grab your utensils and bring them to your table and a different sweet lady will bring the food out to you. The beef tendon soup... incredibly flavorful, rich, and deep. It comes out piping hot. The tendon chunks were large and melty tender. The noodles have a slight bounce and chew and they have this subtle wheat flavor. You can tell they are quality noodles. The soup is simply but perfectly dressed with scallions, bok choy, and some pickled greens which give a nice subtle sour note. If I had one critique it is minor, but I wish the bok choy was a little more cooked but it certainly wasn't a deal breaker. The portion size was just right. Very filling, but not too gluttonous. I absolutely loved this soup, so on the way out I ordered another to-go! In addition, I tried the pig ears in the self-serve fridge... So tender, flavorful, and not chewy at all. Very nice! I also got the spicy tripe from said fridge and it was equally as good, flavorful, slightly spicy, and so tender. Purchase those with your noodles and you can eat them together. Chef's kiss 🤤👌 Needless to say, this will be a staple noodle soup spot for me and I highly recommend it! Edit: oh neat I was the 1000th reviewer 😂

I know it seems like I’m glazing, but this place is the one. I don’t get to go out to eat often, so it has to count. My wife and I lived this spot. Authentic, good prices, friendly service. Looking forward to going back and taking some friends.

I had an excellent first-time experience at this restaurant! The Roasted Beef Noodle soup and Pan-fried Dumplings were standout dishes. The broth was clear and flavorful, and the noodles were fresh and perfectly cooked. The option to customize spice levels with pepper and chili oil was a great touch. The dumplings were authentic and had a homemade taste. Portion sizes were generous – we often shared the dumplings, easy portions. The service was efficient, with friendly staff and easy counter ordering, kudos to them. Even during rush hour, the tables turned over smoothly. Highly recommend the Roasted Beef Noodles and Pan-fried Dumplings – a fun and satisfying meal for both kids and adults!

San Dong remains a Houston staple that never misses! My usual go-to is their incredible beef noodle soup, but this time I switched it up for the pork chop rice plate at an amazing $9.99. It was a fantastic choice—perfectly seasoned, tender pork paired with fluffy rice that’s just as satisfying as my usual. The pan fried dumplings were, as always, a highlight, with their crispy exterior and juicy, savory filling. The vibe is cozy, the service is warm, and the food is consistently outstanding. San Dong is a must-visit gem in Houston!

Just visited San Dong Noodle House and I'm still dreaming about those handmade noodles! This place delivers authentic, soulful Chinese cuisine that leaves you planning your next visit before you've even paid the check. The beef noodle soup is absolutely spectacular - tender chunks of beef swimming in a rich, aromatic broth with perfectly chewy handmade noodles. But the true showstoppers are their pork & chive dumplings with perfectly crimped edges and juicy fillings that burst with flavor. What impressed me most was how quickly everything arrived at our table despite the restaurant being busy. The staff clearly takes pride in their craft, and it shows in every dish that comes out of the kitchen. Whether you're craving comfort food or looking to explore authentic Chinese cuisine, San Dong Noodle House delivers on all fronts. Don't miss this culinary treasure - your taste buds will thank you!

Just wow! The food is so incredibly delicious, the portions are huge, and the prices are fair! We had the beef tendon noodles, sesame noodles, veggie and pork chive dumplings. 100% please get and try the beef tendon, it was life changing. Melt in your mouth tendon, and a flavorful broth and amazing noodles. The sesame noodles are a sesame lovers dream. And all of the dumplings were fantastic!

My old stumping ground. It's in a new place (to me) and did not disappoint. Great dumplings, beef noodles, pot stickers, and pickled cucumbers. Also great price!

Delicious, delicious, delicious !!! I ordered the chicken pan fried dumplings and the roast beef noodle soup. Delicious! The broth in the soup tasted like strong roast beef very flavorful with a ramen like noodle. The dumplings were so hot like so fresh the whole time. They would not stop burning my tongue or maybe I was super hungry LOL. But this food was really good. To dine in - I would suggest looking at the menu online first so you know what to order. But you order at the front and pay, they give you a number and you wait till the food is ready. Mine came out fast even with a lot of people in here. You also get the silverware and chopsticks at the front as well. Overall 10/10 loved it here. You can also buy frozen dumplings and buns from them!!

Delicious Chinese food! Place is half self-service, with appropriate very fair prices. The pan fried dumplings and the braised beef noodle soup were probably the best I had in Chinatown so far! Also the cow stomach cold appetizer (in a box next to cashier) is really popular and tasty. Would definitely recommend to try

We heard from friends that this place has really good noodle soups so we decided to check it out. It did hit the spot and it also reminds me of eating at home. The soup was fresh and filling all for a very good price. 10 dollars a bowl, What?!! That was kind of a shock to me especially for the amount and size. I'll def be back just because of that. Very good spot for warming soups on a cold day.

If you're looking for a tasty, no fuss, simple meal of comfort carbs (noodles and dumplings) this is the place. We come here often. This place was packed with dine-in and carry-out patrons during our recent Sunday visit for dinner. We ordered our favorites- snow cabbage with pork soup noodles (photo), beef tendon soup noodles, and pan-fried dumplings along with two side dishes, knotted seaweed and pork with pickled mustard tuber (see photos). Service is efficient and fast and prices are reasonable. If you want frozen dumplings to eat in the comfort of your home, they have those to buy, too. Hope you will check this place out and maybe it will become one of your favorites.

It’s not bad, it’s just ok. Used to come here all the time to buy their steamed buns which are nice Today I came for a lunch and decided to try their sesame noodles and sour spicy soup Sour spicy soup: disappointing, not sour not spicy, blobs of starch in the soup Sesame noodle: ok but it got too much for me in the end I couldn’t finish it, tried changing up the flavor with the table spicy oil, but I kept adding more with no flavor change at all, then I tried the spicy oil by itself and realized it’s also not spicy I don’t believe my spice tolerance has increased this much but honestly the food was just too. Eh. At least the portions are a lot for ~10$

I recently returned from a vacation in Taiwan, and this food made me feel like I was back there. The beef noodle soup & the pan fried pork/chive dumplings are must orders. It was the kind of food where you could feel the souls of the owner’s recipes & the people that cooked it. Absolutely ethereal. Bring cash because they do charge a fee for credit card. Prices are extremely reasonable, and I dare say even cheap by US standards. Highly recommend ordering the Vietnamese coffee. Strangely delicious

Surprisingly good Cantonese style noodle house. While they have a few different options, I tried the signature spicy beef noodle. You order and pay at the counter, get a table number and they bring the food out. The meats are braised to perfection and they give you a good amount and proportionate to the noodles. The pickled cabbage they put in is amazing too. Overall, great experience and would love to try out their other signature dishes next time

We tried their Pork Chop Rice. It was good. But the Guotie ( Pot Stickers was just okay ). The skin was too thick.

Solid 'fast casual' Chinese food that'll fill you up for good value. Food: Pork and Fried Chicken Rice cutlet dishes (~$10 each) come with a healthy serving of rice, side of steamed cabbage, a tea egg, braised tofu + pork, and meat cutlet. The dishes definitely filled us up but weren't super appetizing. The chicken cutlet in particular was extremely dry and stringy (see pictures). Dumplings: We ordered the Chicken and Cabbage Fried Dumplings (12 ct.) for and Pork and Chive Dumplings (15 ct.) for ~$10/each. The Chicken and Cabbage dumplings were severely lacking in flavor. The Pork and Chive Dumplings were slightly better but that's not saying much if anything. The insipid flavor was accompanied by a thick and doughy dumpling wrapper. Service: You order and pay at the counter and then the meal is brought to your table. You have to self-serve utensils, water, etc. This restaurants places a surcharge (4%) if you use credit card. Value: Pretty good value for a dine-in meal. Most dishes offer heaping serving sizes that'll fill you up but the food is nothing to write home about.

My husband and I dined here a few weeks ago by chance. It was fairly decent, especially the pan fried pork wonton and chicken dumplings. We noticed they have frozen wonton and dumplings so for Christmas we did Asian. I stopped by on 12-24, got 2 packs of frozen pork wonton for pan frying, 1 pack of chicken dumplings, noodle pack and red bean buns. They had hot and sour soup, buy 1 get 1 free we got also. The bamboo in yhe soup was inedible and too much cilantro. We cooked half of a pack of the pork wonton and they do not taste like pork, also aren't wrapped the same as the ones you get when dining in. They tasted like fish which was very off putting since it's supposed to be pork. We had to throw them away. It was really awful. The red bean buns were very good. We're trying the chicken dumplings today, hopefully they taste like they should. I'll update after this and trying their noodles. Hopefully neither of these taste like fish. One other thing that I noticed is that while I bought pre-made items to take home, the cashier charged a 7.95 tip fee automatically, not even allowing a write in tip, just automatic. For less than 5 minutes of service to bag up 6 items. More than likely we won't be going back to here.
