We went in a Saturday night and it was busy! We did not have to wait for our table. Food was great and service was even better. Will definitely return.
Great people. Great service. The food is amazing every time. I highly recommend this place. Their BBQ is highly quality and so are their soups.
Had our Thanksgiving Dinner there with 20 plus family. Excellent food, Excellent helpful staff. Very clean and lovely restaurant. If you like Korean food, this is the only place you should go! You can cook it yourself, we asked they cook it as we had so many pe9ple including children.
We heard a lot about this place and everyone said it is authentic and owned by Korean people. Of course we had to try it because we love Korean food and we are always looking for a delicious and affordable spot. It took us almost one hour to get there. The restaurant is located in an old building which makes it look a little strange from the outside, but their entrance stands out and looks totally different, so it is easy to spot. When we walked in, the inside was nicely decorated and surprisingly big. There was no wait at all and we got seated right away. One thing I really loved is that the place is run by elderly ladies. It made me feel like I was at home and they were like moms and grandmas cooking for me. They were super friendly and very kind. They have a huge menu because they also serve Korean BBQ, but it is not all you can eat. You order by plate, which can be pricey, but the quality is much better. We only ordered two meals because the food is on the pricey side, but honestly the portion sizes were enough for both of us. Their banchan was really good, and I especially liked the tofu. Here is what we ordered: • Bulgogi Hot Stone Pot Bibimbap (B5): Bibimbap served in a hot stone bowl that stays hot for about ten to twelve minutes. It keeps your food warm the whole time, which I love. • Soondooboo Combo, LA Galbi plus Seafood Soondooboo: This is listed under TC1 on the menu but I asked if I could switch it to seafood and they said yes. They are very flexible with requests. Everything came out piping hot and super fresh. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The food was amazing and the service was even better. They work together as a team and help every table, not just their own. Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely come back. I understand the high price because the ingredients, inventory, and spices are expensive, but my husband went to Korea and said dishes are much cheaper there. We just think that if the price could be a little lower it would be even better. Everything was nice and good. Happy stomach means happy
This is a great place for a business lunch. It is quiet enough to easily carry on a conversation. The Korean food is very good and the waitress may ask if you want a fork in addition to the chopsticks. I was able to manage without the fork but could use some improvement. The meals are delicious and ample, you won't leave hungry.
Go-to place for Korean food. We never get the bbq - not big meat eaters, but love the hot stone bibimbap and the soondoboo. The tteokboki and squash pancake are good also. Great service by friendly aunties.
I really enjoy this Korean restaurant. The BBQ meats are delicious (zzz need to order at least 2 meat orders in order to BBQ) at your table. and so are the stews. The side dishes tasted fresh and crisp. The servers are friendly and accommodating. I’ve probably been here about 6 times in 2023.
What a gem. I had no idea Houston had such good Korean food! Felt like Koreatown in LA. Everything was wonderful, from the steamed egg, to the japchae and everything in between. They even had my favourite type of meat for the bbq, the chaduel-gue (apologies for the spelling), which is grilled unmarinated and dipped in sesame oil. Highly recommend!
Haven’t been here in awhile, but was brought here for their Galbitang (short rib soup) and was surprised by how great the dish was. Friend swore this place had the best version of this dish in Houston, and I couldn’t think of a place I enjoyed more honestly. Also ask for the egg soufflé which is huge and delicious! Went back a week later with my cousin to have him enjoy it as well.
First time eating legit Korean food. You can cook your own Korean barbecue. We left the cooking up to the experts. The best kimchi I’ve ever had. The best mulmandu (dumplings), too. Everything — roasted eel (jahng-uh gui) and beef (bulgogi bibimbap) were delicious. We also splurged on Korean rice wine (makgeolli) - which is served and drink in a very particular way. It tasted a bit like sake. Very enjoyable. Very clean restaurant. I love that there’s a doorbell that you can push at your own table for service. Every single staff member was incredibly kind and polite, and willing to help us navigate our way through our meal.
Seoul Garden, a Korean restaurant with a legacy of over 20 years in Houston, has consistently stood out for its unwavering commitment to food quality. The flavored Korean barbecue meat is undoubtedly the highlight, showcasing the perfect blend of taste and tenderness. The small side dishes are a testament to the restaurant's dedication, always fresh and bursting with delightful flavors. The micro fish grilled is nothing short of perfection, offering a unique and delicious culinary experience. The meat, whether barbecue or otherwise, remains consistently tender, juicy, and flavorful, boasting a delightful texture that adds to the overall dining pleasure. Among the favorites is the seafood pancake, a true standout that never disappoints with its delectable taste and satisfying texture. Additionally, the seafood soup is a flavor-intensive masterpiece, loaded with a variety of high-quality ingredients that elevate the taste to a whole new level. Throughout the years, Seoul Garden has maintained impeccable service standards, ensuring that each dining experience is met with efficiency and warmth. As a long-time patron, I can confidently say that Seoul Garden remains a go-to destination for exceptional Korean cuisine in Houston. For those craving an authentic and delightful Korean dining experience, Seoul Garden undoubtedly deserves a spot on the list of must-visit restaurants.
I had the pleasure of trying Korean food for the first time at Seoul Garden , and it was an unforgettable experience. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, setting the stage for a delightful culinary journey. To start, I ordered the Stir Fried Chicken with colorful vegetables, The flavors were an explosion of savory, sweet, and spicy, creating a harmonious blend that left my taste buds dancing. The Kimchi, a staple of Korean cuisine, wThe side dishes, including various banchan, were a delightful surprise, offering an array of textures and flavors. The service was exceptional, with the staff being patient and helpful in explaining the menu to a first-timer like me. They made the experience all the more enjoyable. Overall, my first Korean food adventure at Seoul Garden was a delightful journey of new tastes and flavors. I can't wait to explore more of this cuisine, and I'll definitely be returning to this restaurant for another round of delicious Korean dishes.
Just an average Korean spot. Decent food - nothing special. Great service though
We’ve been coming to Seoul Garden for as long as I can remember. I’ve always liked their food, but lately I noticed that the stews are consistent over-seasoned, and there’s some shrink-flation going on. Last time we came we ordered BS5, the BbQ combo that comes with 4 types of meat, salad, and a choice of stew or steamed egg. The combo was 89.99, and the 4 meats came out on 2 regular plates and that was it! I’m posting pictures for reference. We put 2 meats, the short ribs and chicken, on the grill together, and had no issues fitting them all on the grill. Like really? 4 pieces of chicken, and 8 pieces of ribs! The wait staff at the place are usually nice and attentive. But this time around, towards the end of the meal, most people finished eating and were just sitting around chatting. I was still eating, and wanted to refill a couple of the banchans. I ran the bell 3 times and our wait person never came.
It's an old restaurant that's been in Houston for decades. The Korean decorations and vibes are there. However, the prices here are high for the food that we received. The side dishes are really boring. The seafood pancake is good. The waitresses are these ajummas who all looked very busy, impatient, rude and with poor english. The friends that came with me have been eating here for 30 years, but the services that we received are still really poor. I know you all have worked here for decades, but your attitudes need to improve. I would rather go to Handan for AYCE if it's not that my friend's call.
We were craving Korean food so we gave this place a try. We ordered La galbi, thinly sliced pork belly and seafood pancake. The seafood pancake was good but not crispy enough, we’ve had better. We liked all the bancan that went with it. Since the light was out at our table, it was a bit inconvenient. Also the fire of the grill went out twice during our dining. The service was okay given they only checked on us when we were about to finish.
Ah, the timeless tango of dining out—where the promise of culinary delight crashes headlong into the brick wall of human indifference. Picture this: you, hopeful and hangry, stepping into a restaurant that's supposed to whisk you away to flavor town. Instead, you're greeted by the hostess, whose eye-roll at your innocent question about the menu. But listen, the real five-star experience was the comedy. I told our waitress at the end, completely deadpan, “You’re an incredible server with a beautiful smile,” and she looked like she was trying to solve quantum physics in her head to figure out if I was serious. Dropped a $5 tip just to keep the bit going. Worth every penny for the story. Verdict: Skip this place unless you want dinner and a show—where the show is two grown adults getting emotionally waterboarded by passive aggression and the dinner is whatever “edible” means on its worst day. 10/10 for live theater, 2/10 for actual restauranting. Bring popcorn, not an appetite.
