This is one of my favorite pho places downtown. I ordered a large plate, but a small would suffice. The Thai tea is good, but I like it a bit sweeter and with less tapioca (I ordered it with tapioca). Overall, I love eating here!

Honestly this place saved my Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend. We originally came to Houston to go to Gotti’s with a booked reservation, but due to the lack of service we ended up looking for another place to eat. With the change of plans we were headed to Mony but because they are in the same plaza my girlfriend decided to go here instead. The service was fast and reliable. We were greeted as soon as we got into the door. We were seated and probably less than 10 mins from ordering our food was there. It was delicious and honestly saved the day. After being caught in the rain a good bowl of Pho was the way to go.

Came in for lunch and were seated immediately. Appetizers came out quickly, and the phô soon after. All of the food was fantastic! Very flavorful, and the broth was not sweet like some variations. I was impressed with all of the options on the menu. There are a few things that most other Vietnamese establishments do not offer in the states. I wish I had tried one of them but we were in the mood for phô. I did not like that the water came in metallic cups, but that detail is negligible.

The best place in midtown for Vietnamese food. I’ve been to other spots and while they are good, this place has my loyalty. I don’t eat red meat so I eat chicken options; but if you can master chicken, you can master pork and beef so it the chicken is good… the other meats have got to be good. Speedy service and food is phenomenal. The best chicken banh mi around here since I do not like shredded chicken banh mi. They use charbroiled chicken for banh mi and it is AMAZING. The only place I will get banh mi. I love the shrimp spring rolls here and I think it’s the best in town. Chicken pho is solid as well. I will always recommend this pot.

Prices have been going up lately but this place has best barbecue pork (char siu) and roasted pork that I have tried around Houston. Make sure you go early when the food is freshly made. Otherwise, you may be eating food that has been sitting out and cold

Line moves quick/efficient. They do have lunch specials/plates. Get a lot of food for the money. Some ppl say it's the best bbq in town... had to try it. The pork n ribs were a bit dry but not too bad in flavor. Wings were fried perfectly and seasoned well.

Great fast food lunch plates and BBQ. Service is quick. Everything is take out but you can dine in on paper plates. They serve free hot tea and have a cooler of water and sodas. Prices are decent.

I moved to the medical center recently but always going to Chinatown for roast ducks so I googled to see if there are any close by and found this place. I went downtown today for some errands and decided to check it out. I got the roast duck and roast pork belly. It was excellent especially the pork belly. Very crispy and not a lot of fat. The duck is tender and juicy. I really love it and can’t recommend highly enough. Kudos to the chef 👍

This place is great. There is a free shared parking lot for the businesses in the strip as well as additional parking on the second floor. The restaurant space is pretty compact. You walk in and the menus are on the wall to the right. The fresh meat is on display and labeled at the front. You order with a person at the counter. They were polite and answering questions for first time customers. After you order, you just stand around wherever there's room until they call you over to the register. It's a little disorganized, but it works well enough. The food was pretty good. The portion size was very generous. If you like this style of Asian meat, rice and veggie, you'll love this restaurant. It's just like something you'd find at a hawker center in Asia.

The chicken pho was good! This place is slightly more expensive than others but the food is alright. My hubby ordered pork and steamrice but was not impressed. We also got the vegetarian egg rolls which were small for price. Bun mi sandwich was okayish… the bread and meat didn’t seem fresh. I would do it again and give it another shot.

The parking is a tight. There’s a parking garage, there’s evidence of a homeless person sleeping in the stairwell. Service was good. Surprisingly, once we place our order, did not wait long to get our food. Plenty of bean sprouts, they were nice and fresh.

My daughter wanted to eat at Pho Saigon because that was one of her go to places when she was at Univeristy of Houston. It’s a great place for a quick lunch. The food is good! And the atmosphere is very relaxed. We went with a group of six people, and I really enjoyed the vibe and the food. I ordered the Banh Mi and you can see in the pictures what everyone else ordered. Mostly Pho and beef. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I also ordered t he coconut water. I love that drink especially because they add in some chunks of fresh coconut. All in all a great place for a lunch with friends.

Good value Chinese BBQ restaurant that offers all the classic choices and the ability to pick multiple in a single plate. It’s definitely not the best I’ve had, the BBQ pork was on the drier side and the sauces are all extra, but for the variety you get it’s good if you want a wide spread for a plate. The portion size was good for the price, although the portions of meat were not even (I definitely got more BBQ Pork than duck). Decent amount of indoor seating.

Small store, always crowded, it is good for both dine in and takeaway. Roasted pork belly is just right, not too dry, not too salty. I dont try roasted duck here but heard many good things about them. The large box comes with fried rice / white rice and 2 meats, its is good portion for one, maybe you can split into 2 portions for lunch and dinner. If you dine in, they have puerh tea to help you digest with all fatty from duck and pork. Free. Parking is always filled up on the ground, be ready to park upstairs at no cost.

Tasty duck, roast pork, fried ribs, bbq pork. Family owned and operated spot. The spicy chicken wings were surprisingly good. Great value for the $$$! Eat inside and experience the sights and sounds of grandma hacking away at the meats with a giant meat cleaver! Reminds me of Asia! The tenants of this shopping strip really need to get together with the property management and work out a better parking situation, maybe lease the parking lot across the street where Les Givral’s used to be.

Had the BBQ and roast pork with steamed rice for lunch. Also had some chillie Fried wings and pork ribs. The pork was very good. The rice and wings were also good but let down by not being hot as they should be. Happy to try them again and hopefully the steamed rice and Fried wings will be hot. Than you.

Was looking for a Chinese BBQ place outside of Chinatown, found it! Walked through the door and smelled the greasy, delicious BBQ in the air, and greeted by nice workers, I knew this place was it. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection! Still my favorite place to get roasted pork... their pork belly is superb to all the other places around. Every time I am in town, I always have to get a couple of pounds! The best!

Came here towards the end of business hours which might’ve been a mistake… everything on my plate was lukewarm. The flavors of the meat were good but it did taste a bit stale. The pork belly is much better than the duck in my opinion. The ginger scallion sauce is a must try though if you’re coming here. I wish they’d keep the quality of their food consistent throughout the day though!

We have been loyal customers of this restaurant for years, but unfortunately this experience on 12/21/2025 will be our last. We ordered two entrées and a sandwich. The price quoted over the phone did not match the prices listed on the website. When we questioned this, we were told the website would be updated next week (12/22/2025), which was disappointing. Once we arrived home and opened our order, we found multiple issues: one entrée was missing its rice, the tofu portion on another entrée was extremely light, and the vegan sandwich had no tofu at all. When we called to inform the restaurant about the missing and incomplete items, our concerns were dismissed rather than addressed. Consistency, accuracy, and customer service matter especially for longtime patrons. Unfortunately, due to this experience, we will not be returning.

I hate it when new owners take a place over and immediately cut corners, while raising the prices. You can see in the pictures that everything is dry, and the roast pork had no skin on it. bad enough i stopped mid meal to write this.

The food tasted good, but the servers’ attitude was absolutely zero. They didn’t even check on the food, and their unfriendly service was truly horrible. Even though the food was good, I don’t think I would want to go back next time.

This has been our go to for almost fifteen years. Today will be out last visit. The prices have nearly doubled for one third of the portion sizes. We ordered large pho bowls that at best have four scraps of meat in them. The egg rolls came out in ninety seconds and were soggy, room temp at best.

Update: Went to order our usual favorite to go: 2 pounds of Char Siu and 2 pounds of roasted pork belly. Char Siu was dry and seasoned with just salt. The pork belly was also dry but the fat was not rendered. Kind of disgusting and very disappointed. Will not return. ——————//—————- 2023 Love this family run Asian BBQ place. Good roasted pork belly ($11.99/lb) and roasted duck. Their daily lunch is also fast, good and of good value. As the picture shows, they’re a popular destination for lunch. They can be a bit terse when the line is long so read the menu quickly and have an idea what you want. Today, there is 3 choices of veggies, 6 choices of meats, including BBQ roasted pork, roasted duck, and soy chicken. Today, I got the fried ribs, roasted pork belly, and winter melon. Looks delicious! Also came to get 2 pounds of roasted pork belly, 1 pound Xa Xiu/Char Chiu (marinated lean pork). I ask them to not cut it so I can re-bake it and cut it to my family’s preference for dinner. The roasted pork belly goes fast so it can be gone by 2 pm.

Edit: The quality has gone downhill alot. This was a neat quick lunch spot. If you are a fan of crispy pork belly, char siu, and roasted duck, you should definitely come here! Me and my partner shared a plate of large which you get either white or fried rice proteins and 1 vegetable. I got here around 3pm so there weren't that many veggies left to choose from. Don't skip the sauce and chili, it's a must. There was no line so it didn't take long to get an order in. They also do catering.

I used to always stop by Siu Lap City when in Midtown, but since the change in ownership, the food quality has gone downhill. The large combo with two meats, rice, and veggies for $12.95 was once a great deal, but now it’s disappointing. The crispy pork belly was just fat with soggy skin, far from crispy. The BBQ was tough and lacked flavor. Additionally, the lady at the cash register needs to change her gloves after handling money before preparing food—a serious hygiene issue. Sadly, I won’t be coming back. Pretty disappointed overall.

Update former review below: 01/23/25 I was served old, cold food today. I usually order their braised pork once a week, but after being closed due to the weather, they finally reopened today. Unfortunately, the braised pork was completely off—the texture was wrong, and it tasted strange. I also ordered the duck, which was equally bad. I returned the pork, and they replaced it with chicken, but that too was off. While I understand the weather caused delays in reopening, it doesn’t excuse serving old meat to customers. This will be my last visit, as it’s clear they have no regard for their patrons. Old Review to see how much the food was enjoyed: The food at Siu Lap City is absolutely delicious. The duck, BBQ pork, and braised pork belly with duck eggs truly are delicious. The portions and pricing are an excellent deal; You get two meats, rice, and vegetables for a great value. The only downside is that they tend to run out of certain items on most days. Oh and your BBQ meats may not be hot, but room temperature.

Food quality and taste went down substantially under new owner. Pork belly has mostly fat, skin is chewy. Roasted duck tastes plain, one of the most chewy roasted ducks I ever had. Sad, it’s used to be my favorite spot for quick lunch in midtown area.

Did not know that they were under new management! Been going here for years and new owners are RUDE!! never had a problem with them giving me good portions on my order. They barely gave me anything. I'm guessing because of my ethnicity. I mentioned it to them and they just started talking in a different language amongst themselves. Place wasn't as packed as it usually is. Very underwhelming, I drove 30 mins for a plate I've been craving just to walk out with something that was not worth my money . Last time me going there . Time for me to find a new place to support. Literally got 5 shrimps and a handful of pork 👎🏽 NOT WORTH THE $15 i paid 😤

I’ve been here twice since the new owners took over. The portion sizes shrank and the food is no longer good. I usually get the roast duck and pork belly as my weekly order for the past 3 years. I got this last week, the pork belly is not tender or juicy and the skin is no longer crispy. The duck was dry. The only thing that stayed the same was the vegetables. I noticed that store is not as busy as it used to be. If they kept the same quantity and quality I think ppl would return.
