Gen Korean BBQ never fails for Korean food cravings and they offered an upgrade menu a few months ago! We went on an early Friday (630/7pm) and waited no more than 10 minutes. Our waiter was super friendly and polite, constantly checking up on our table to assure if we needed anything else!

Gen Korean BBQ House – Amazing Vibes, Food, and Service (With Just One Small Bump) Gen Korean BBQ House is one of my favorite go-to spots when I want a full experience — not just a meal. The prices are always surprisingly good for the quality and amount of food you get. Whether you’re going with friends, family, or on a date, it never disappoints. The aesthetic is absolutely on point — sleek, modern, and just gives off those night-out vibes. The music is always a whole mood, setting the perfect backdrop for a fun, high-energy dinner. And the food? Delicious. Every single time. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned — you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The drinks are also a solid 10/10 — creative, balanced, and definitely worth trying. Now, I do want to be honest — I did wait over 30 minutes for my martini, which was a bit disappointing. That’s definitely something that could be improved. But to their credit, the waiter was super sweet, apologetic, and made sure we were taken care of otherwise. So while the wait wasn’t ideal, the customer service helped smooth it over. We went on a Sunday, and surprisingly didn’t have to wait at all to be seated — we got in right away. If you’re going, I highly recommend asking for a seat in the back — a little more tucked away and quieter, which is my favorite spot every time I go. Parking is easy — there’s a garage nearby with plenty of space, and the area feels safe and walkable, perfect for strolling a bit after your meal. There’s even a cool little ice cream shop next door if you want to top things off with something sweet. All in all, Gen Korean BBQ House delivers a top-tier experience. Great food, great atmosphere, and warm, friendly service — just a small hiccup on the drink timing. Still, I’ll absolutely be back, and I highly recommend it!

Amazing experience, allow me to start with the welcoming from the staff, our server QUYNH, was phenomenal, very attentive, making sure we got everything that we needed, from water, to any other side dish, she was quick to ask us a multitude of times if we needed anything else, with a smile and attentive service, very professional, the rest of the staff when bringing the food, were awesome as well, letting us know what they were bringing, I would highly recommend the Premium menu for $52 per person you get to choose premium cuts such as Wagyu, rib eye, ribs, and so.many more to choose from, the center metal plate was replaced promptly in order to avoid excessive smoke, which made the experience a great time for sure, the server also asked us if there were any allergies, to ensure we did not have a surprise regarding food. The ambiance was great, the music was not too loud, and the lighting was a subtle yet energizing to keep good vibes. Restrooms were clean and very organized, overall I highly recommend visiting this place with a larger group in order to get to try multiple food options at once. I would also recommend the dragon Fruit with Soju, as well as the larger party cup with Lichi soju.

We're a four-person group coming for dinner. The food is good, fresh, and tasty. Be careful that the menu has two editions, so check before ordering. One thing I am confused about is whether the air conditioning is broken or not, because the air in the store is stuffy. But overall, everything is good.

Despite it being insanely busy and us having a large group, we were seated fast ! They brought our food and drink orders quickly as well. Everything was so delicious and we had so much we were stuffed at the end. We truly enjoyed our meal and the food was DELISH! Would come back.

I had a good experience here. The food was tasty, and the atmosphere was welcoming. Our server was attentive and helpful throughout the meal. The only issue was with the little salt mix that comes with the sauces. The first one had a fly in it, which the server quickly replaced. Unfortunately, the second one had a small hair in it. I didn’t mention it because I didn’t want to be bothersome, but it’s something to keep an eye on. Aside from that, everything else was great, and I’d still recommend giving this place a try!

I've been a few times with one other friend when in the city. recently, the whole vibe was kinda off. Our grill wasn't changed much unless we asked, before they would have someone walking around to change it often. Food was good. My biggest problem is this time we ate (party of 3), we were told we couldn't all do separate checks.. on THREE people.. all they could do was 2 checks. and instead of giving us a moment to figure out how to pay since we all had card, the person checking us out kinda stood there like they were in a rush. Problem is none of us use the same payment apps like zelle, venmo, etc. One of us had to pick up the extra person on our bill. We weren't given an itemized receipt, just had a tablet in our face with the total and being stared at while we were making our choice on tips is so uncomfortable. I've paid here before but it was less uncomfortable and the check out person wasn't staring down my tip choice. Our server was great! He was really nice and helped us with what we needed! For anyone who is going as a group of friends of more than TWO, be prepared to either bring all cash or get ready to send money to the person paying. its honestly ridiculous.

I hope there food is better then there service came to pickup a doordash order the host guy with curly hair was at the front my Doordash order was right behind him ready. I told him the name for the doordash he told me it will be 5min didn't even check the bag behind him 5min goes by another guy came told me it will be 2min then finally the chef told the guy that order has already been made so the guy looks at the bag behind him and gives it to me... So I wasted 10min waiting on a order that has been sitting there for probably at least 5min when I got there.... So something that was ready took 10min to give to me because the front person is not responsible.... Like I said hope there food is better then service.

We have been coming here since 2020 and it used to be one of our favorite spots. I believe they changed ownership and the quality of the meat has changed which caused us to become ill with severe stomach aches. They also added some up charges to get the more premium cuts of meat which used to be included. The floors were sticky and the restaurant just was not as clean as it used to be. Changing of the ownership for this restaurant is showing to be a downfall for it and it’s very unfortunate. I do want to add that our server was friendly and attentive.

It was okay ... Service and atmosphere: The staff were friendly and helpful. Fairly attentive as well. Unfortunately, some staff members were speaking too low so we couldn't hear them saying what meats were being delivered. This could have been due to loud music played too. The restaurant was organised. The plastic plates that they served food on were way too used and had brown marks/imprints from being used so much. Food and drinks: Good selection on the menu but the quality in my opinion wasn't there. The thinly sliced meats looked dried up. Other meats were okay. All sides to accompany the meats were on the sweet side (including kimchi). Pricing: $$/$ depends on the type of meat cuts you opt for.

Not an error review. 2nd time back. 1st time amazing. Came again tonight around 9:30pm for my bday tonight, and was not greeted by the front “hostess”, a short female of Spanish descent. She takes us to our table, and takes us to a dirty table, I understand it’s busy. I’ve been a server, and manager at several restaurants. I ask her nicely could someone clean the table, I guess I didn’t hear her respond, so I asked nicely again. She proceeds to give me the rudest meanest death stare side eye for a good 3 seconds before RUDELY responding, “I’m doing it”. Ok, point taken, understood. Could have smiled and nicely it in a different way. I understand it’s late and I’m sorry for not hearing you, but she needs retraining on just smiling & responding professionally. That’s all. I still had a good bday.

I went with my friend to this location around 12 pm on 02/02/26 and we were extremely disappointed. We have been to this Gen location multiple times over the years, but never had an experience like this one. To start things off, the food quality has gone down immensely within the past years. The brisket was extremely dry and was hard to enjoy despite it being one of my favorite meats to order off the menu! We went during lunch time and only 4 other tables were occupied. Our server was extremely rude. While we did not get his name, he was a young man with a curly black perm and black glasses. My friend asked for more sauces because hers had finished and she never received them, which made her to eat the rest of the meats without sauce. Our grill was extremely charred and instead of him to replace the grill, he rubbed radish all over it, which still left the burnt pieces of meat on the grill! He didn’t bother to change it. This made it extremely hard to enjoy the rest of our meats. The grease from the meat kept dripping through the cracks of the grill cover and ignited a flame! My friend repeatedly asked for more KFC (which she never ended up receiving) and he did not stop at our table after our second round of meat. Instead, he kept checking on other tables near us and was completely ignoring us. At one point, I tried to flag him down, and said “excuse me” politely only for him to turn in our direction and look away. At this point, my friend and I were ready to leave and we turned off the grill ourselves because the grease was practically boiling and it made us uncomfortable to still have the grill on. For over 20 minutes, our server did not come by once to check on us while still stopping by at nearby tables. We basically had to plead to get the bill. Once we had paid, he stormed off, not even bothering to tell us “have a nice day” or any greeting. We are extremely disappointed because this used to be one of our favorite restaurants; however, my friend and I will not be returning.

I was very disappointed with the service during our recent visit. We were served a cold appetizer and requested a replacement, but unfortunately, no replacement was ever brought to the table. After waiting approximately 30 minutes, we were informed that the kitchen had closed. Because we were unable to properly enjoy the dish, we requested some form of accommodation or adjustment to the bill. However, our request was denied, and we were charged full price for the appetizer despite it being served cold and never replaced. We were not expecting anything unreasonable — even a small gesture of goodwill would have been appreciated. Being told that nothing could be done was frustrating and left us with a very negative impression of the overall experience.

I used to love coming to Gen Korean BBQ. The first few times I came, everything was amazing! I told so many people to come here and even brought a few friends. It was also me and my husband’s favorite place for date nights and family time. But lately, something has definitely changed — both in the service and the food. Before, the staff used to change your grill once it started burning, which kept the food tasting great. Now, they just hand you something to clean it yourself. It doesn’t work well, takes a long time, and honestly ruins the experience. Instead of just cooking, you’re now also cleaning the grill between meats. After a while, my arm even started hurting from all the scrubbing and cooking! For the price we’re paying, it’s just not enjoyable anymore. I’d rather go somewhere else or cook at home. On top of that, they’ve placed loud music speakers right above the seating areas, making it hard to even talk. I really hope they go back to how things used to be, because this used to be one of my favorite spots.
