OH MY GOD, this place you can miss but the food is AMAZING. It’s pricey but I love the food. Everything . The oxtails were the best I ever had, Mac, and greens. I honestly felt at home eating here ! You’ll love this place. The employees beautiful and very professional. They gave me a free cobbler cup.

It was a Sunny Sunday when I visited The Greasy Spoon. The line to order wasn't too bad, but I could tell that it could've been. They had food already cooked in the food line, but if you wanted something other than what was on the line, you'd have to order that and wait. The give you a buzzer just in case you can't/don't hear your number. There's only 1 Female bathroom and it was pretty decent. The food was delicious! The macaroni & cheese was just OK. It was a lil too soupy for me.

I finally made it to the “The Greasy Spoon!” My cousin and I decided to meet up at 1pm and I’m glad we did. It’s a very intimate (I don’t mean romantic.) and clean restaurant. Everyone was very nice, polite, and you can best believe that you will NOT miss your name being called. They have security and he maintained the capacity inside. I’m not sure what was going on with the AC, for them to have fans going. I must say, “I do appreciate them giving us some type of air.” Everything on the food line looked so good and I couldn’t make up my mind. I decided to go with the fried seafood platter (I think it’s called something else.), and it came with; fried lobster tail, shrimp, fries, cornbread, and fish. I also got the gumbo to go. It was well seasoned and battered well (not thick). I’m not big on fries, but I couldn’t stop eating them. Of course I didn’t finish it but I did for dinner(Last picture: cornbread, lobster tail, shrimp, gumbo). The lobster tail was a little salty but everything else was delicious. I will definitely go back. I suggest you get there no later than 1pm.

I was excited to try this place. Everything was so good just super super salty. I didn’t finish my gumbo or greens because the salt just over powered it. My daughter didn’t like the Mac n cheese. The Greasy Spoon neat 1960 area is in a small strip mall benid a gas station. Pros; There is plenty of free parking The restroom was good The customer service tried really hard The food came out in a timely manner I liked the sweet cabbage Cons; Everything was OVERLY Salty, even the Lobster, The green were almost raw-tough Pork Chops were below average The yams came right out of a can. They didn't even try to fix them up. I believe we ordered a total of 4 meals. No one was overzealous about the food. I am so glad we came once. FYI: the customers had on pj's and bonnets. A couple complained so badly, the staff was professional with her. The staff gave her a new, completely FREE oxtail dinner. I believe she had done that type of thing previously. The customer spoke so badly about her food as she ate it. I didn't enjoy the location, the inside of the restaurant, or the customers. I didn't complain. We ate what we could. I supported once 🌞

I've been wanting to try this place for a while. I live in spring. So I went to the one on cypress station finally today. Will not go there again. I wanted oxtail plate but they didn't have corn bread because thats what I originally wanted. So I settled for fried fish which was the only thing I could get made to order per lady at the register. Waited about 10 to 15 mins. Got my order macaroni and cheese was good a bit runny an sweet potatoes was good but my fish was cooked in old grease very hard batter was so hard it wasn't even stuck to the fish. I am a cook so I can definitely tell when the grease is old. I set in my car to try it but ended up giving the whole plate away to a man that was standing in front of the store. Should have just waited to try a different location.

Ordered three dinners, oxtail, porkchop and catfish. The smoked oxtail dinner was well proportioned. The catfish was not, definitely not worth the price. You only get one porkchop with the dinner. Pork is the least priced cut of meat. This was my third time trying this place. I thought like the saying; "Third time the charm". Nope, we did not like the cabbage nor green beans at all they lacked in seasoning big time. The mac & cheese was decent. I paid $77 dollars, and none of us were satisfied. Also, on the website it shows we was suppose to receive corn bread with all meals while supplies last. We didn't get any and it was close to 2pm, they opened at 11a. So they must have had a huge crowd before I arrived. Don't think that I will be returning.

Sigh ... I set a scheduled delivery in anticipation for this food today via Uber Eats. I have never been so disappointed. The greens are so salty to point, where they are not inedible! Oxtail CHEWY and not seasoned! I can't believe I ordered a $100 worth of food for my family and it's not even mediocre! Lord help, smh. Only thing manageable is the cornbread and Mac n cheese! !

Food is overpriced and nasty. I just ordered oxtails from DoorDash, I get my order, instead of the oxtails having gravy on them, they’re soaked in nasty salty bbq sauce. The oxtails were tough! My cabbage tasted like someone put sugar on them. To top it off they don’t have a working phone number! This food was very disappointing and I will never order from here again! What a rip off. I need to come up there and show yall how to cook, I guess.

Unfortunately extremely disappointed. Got smothered pork "chops" and it was horrible. Cheap thin pork chops and only gave me one chop. The gravy, and Mac and cheese and cabbage were all watery. Service was pleasant, but the food was definitely not worth $20 including a tip on a to go order.

I really don’t understand the hype around The Greasy Spoon Soul Food Bistro. My dad went in right at opening on Sunday and picked up two plates of oxtails for the family — big mistake. They were already out of macaroni and cheese, so he substituted yams and mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, the oxtails were extremely disappointing: bland, covered in a thick brown gravy that tasted more like something meant for mashed potatoes, and clearly not freshly prepared. It looked like they’d just been sitting on a steam table. The mashed potatoes tasted instant, though I’ll give credit where it’s due — the yams were actually good. But of course, you wouldn’t go to a soul food restaurant just for the yams. Other than that, everything else missed the mark. For the price and the drive, it simply wasn’t worth it. I won’t be returning — I’ll stick with Jamaica Pon Di Road instead, where the food is fresh, flavorful, and cooked to order every time.

If it’s one thing, looks are deceiving! This is the WORST Soul food restaurant I have eaten at. The food, for one, was cold, and they looked like someone who had just learned how to cook, slopping food in a tray and calling it a day. The best thing I had in my entire order was the even bad collard greens. For something that can be steamed or cooked in water, they were dry. The Mac was tasteless, the fries not crunchy, just soft, the catfish was alright, didn’t taste much seasoning, the seasoning on the shrimp was VERY SALTY, spaghetti was nasty like it was made with some old or freezer burn seafood, pasta was tasteless as well, corn was good don’t think you can mess up sweet corn and the ox tail didn’t fall off the bone. I was chewing for some time to eat the ox tail. Overall, it was a HORRIBLE meal. Maybe I need to go in person to see if the food will be any better. The quality of the food left much to be desired. From the moment I received my food, it was evident that something was amiss. The food had no smell to it. I was expecting to get Soul food and smell the Soul, but it was as if someone with NO culinary expertise made a dish. The menu boasted a variety of options, but the execution fell short of expectations. The dish I ordered arrived lukewarm and lacked the promised flavors. It's disheartening to see a restaurant with such potential fall short of delivering a satisfying meal.
