The food is good, a little salty but basically delicious. The stir-fried bean sprouts with leeks are highly recommended, and the white rice is also surprisingly delicious. The only thing I don't recommend ordering is the tofu skin, it's so thin that I'm not even sure I've eaten it. But even better than the food was the wait staff. When I accidentally dropped my chopsticks, the waiter immediately brought me a new pair without telling her.
Had a fantastic time at this Xinjiang BBQ restaurant! Plenty of options for group gatherings. The meats were abundant and flavorful, and the sauces were delicious. Everyone left satisfied and full. Highly recommend for a fun and tasty dining experience.
First time here today, very authentic flavor. Had 20 Lamb Skews, and 10 Beef Skews. They were so good that we only remembered to take a picture after the meat are all gone!!! Very cool vibe. The service was fast, and the skews are tender and full of flavor. Will definitely come back again. Had to park a litter further and walk over, but it was all worth it.
My Chinese and Korean friends raved about this place. Finally made it over for sat right when they opened at 12noon. We are used to grilling these at our table in Asia, but it was great. You order a la carte. (See menu) and they bring them grilled and piping hot right out to your table. We had beef tendon, back tendon, and a few others. See pics!
Great authentic Chinese BBQ. Pork and lamb skewers were delicious - highly recommend. Bonus of this place: food is made very quick, which makes it also perfect for a late night snack!
Delicious skewers, the fatty beef and fatty lamb are so flavorful and tender, not over cooked at all. Flavor of the meat and the seasoning is on point. I also really liked the fried pork, it seems to have tapioca starch inside and it tastes great!
Really enjoyed the lamb and oyster mushrooms. We shared a fried noodle and that helped fill us up. It's pricey imo but the flavor is spot on. Funny to see some of the chairman mao posters. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick.
I ordered Lamb, Beef, and Lamb Kidney skewers, shredded potato, and shredded cucumber. First off, Best Lamb Kidney I’ve EVER had. All the skewers were perfectly seasoned, spicy & juicy yet charred in all the right places. They have a great ratio of fat to meat. I wish I’d tried the Lamb Fat skewers! The shredded potato was great, I prefer a little spicier but that’s okay. The cucumber was knockout delicious. Perfectly smashed and smothered in fresh garlic. I can’t wait to return! LOVE IT!

We got the K1, K3, K8, K15, and K33, everything was just right. My older son’s favorite food was the Marinated Lamb Skewer 😍, they didn’t like the beef but the lamb really catches them. We ordered 2 more rounds of K1, and he told me he got 7 burps😂, he loves to come back👍
They serve northeastern style Chinese charcoal grilled skewers. Very authentic flavors with very good service (something you don’t get from GAO’s BBQ). I recommend all of my friends this place over GAO’s BBQ.
Wow, I wasn’t expecting this place to be so good! We loved everything we tried but the highlights were the big chicken dish with noodles, cabbage, fried pork, shredded vinegar potatoes, and skewered mushrooms. Such great explosive flavors!

Came here for dinner and the food was overall good. The skewers were flavorful, nicely seasoned, and grilled well. If you enjoy Xinjiang-style BBQ with bold spices, this place delivers on taste. However, the service could use some improvement. It felt a bit unorganized at times, and we had to wait longer than expected. Hopefully they can improve the efficiency, especially during busy hours. With better service flow, this place has the potential to be even better.
In our search for a Skewer restaurant. Xin Jiang BBQ came up as one of the ONLY establishments open at the lunch hour. The flavors here were excellent! If you're open to trying new things, there are several choices here that are worth a taste. Highly suggest for new comers, start with the lamb selections (Lamb fat, lamb breast, marinated, etc), beef (sirloin, tendon, etc.) & pork (special on the wall side menu). Then work your way up to something new to try. It gives you a good base of what's to come. The seasoning has a little heat that comes in as you eat more. But it sat with me just right, as I can't handle a lot of heat. Just take a look at all the pictures and videos. Loads of options XinJiang BBQ offers. For the price you pay, while it may not look like much, but It adds up. For your first visit order slowly to gauge your limit. Each of us had roughly about 30 skewers. There was plenty of parking on our visit and we can't wait to return to try more. What were some of your favorites? How was your experience? @follow for more. Until next time.
I used to think this is THE best Chinese bbq in town. But this time it wasn’t all fantastic. The meat is bit tough, shrimp wasn’t super fresh, it suppose to be textured, but instead it was soft. My favorite dish was the traditional Chinese sweet and sour pork. It was still good, but it’s always just pretty sour. If you take a whole piece to chew the sourness would make you choke. Cucumber salad was very fresh, taste just right. Not sure if I like the beef in the wheat cold noodle that much. A little bit disappointed, their meat used to be super juicy and chewy. Maybe just not the day. For the variety they are still pretty good and regular dishes is decent. Still recommend it. Hope it will go back to before next time
It's been a long time since I last came to Xinjiang. The food doesn't taste as good as before, and I feel that I'm almost out of money to spend.
Xinjiang BBQ in Houston, TX This reminded me so much of my life in Beijing because I would eat Xinjiang food at least weekly there. I love the mutton or lamb and goat dishes that were so different from the traditional Chinese food. Dapan Ji or big plate chicken was always fun community style dish served with flat noodles in a spicy chicken stew. This version was good, close enough to what I remember eating in China but had way too much oil. The skewers are the star here, lamb, enoki mushrooms wrapped in pork belly and bean curd stuffed with chives (although I could have done without the bean curd one because it lacked flavor). Ask for the spice powder to add more to your liking.

Good tasting Chinese bbq, but service was lacking. Nobody came 1x to refill water. Price is decent and the skewers tasted good. Make sure to ask for spicy powder to add in for some kick. Food all didn’t come out at the same time, they’ll bring little by little, which was fine. I’d come back 1 more time to give it another chance to redeem on the service part. You’ll most likely spend $35-40 per person to be full here
The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The cold dish which was the vegetable combos was flavorful but a little bit sweeter to me. The Yangrouchuan were kind of disappointing. The meat tasted like that they were almost done by boiled then put on the charcoal grilling. So the meat lost its flavor already. Also the cut of the meat was not right. The octopus was a little bit fishy with the hard texture. I don’t like it. But there are a group of 10 people dining there and two other families were there too. I guess people have different tastes.
This place is a good drinking place. The skewers were flavorful with a good spicy kick. However they sprinkle the same seasoning over all the skewers so it makes everything taste one note. So while it's enjoyable, your taste buds will easily get bored. The service was okay - nice, but not very attentive or quick.
Tried this place because a friend wanted to go again. I think it’s fine. The menu has interesting cuts of meat for the skewers. I’m not adventurous at all so I can’t attest to many of the food items. I had the mushroom skewers. It very flavorful. I had the lamb skewers, it was ok. The eggplant was my absolute fav but be mindful of the peppers. I’m terms of service, I believed there was one woman working the entire restaurant alone. When we needed things we just raised our hand to flag her done and she helped us. Things like napkins and water, we never received but we also didn’t formally ask. If you’re in the neighborhood and you like different meats like chicken hearts then you should check the place out.

For the high price (in comparison to other restaurants in the area), I expect the food to be better!! Food is too SALTY. Service is so so. I had to keep calling waiters for the same thing even though the restaurant was not busy at the time. Personally I would not come back here anymore.
