OMG! So good. We ate here for the first time and it was the best. I highly recommend this restaurant. We ordered Calamari, which was cooked to perfection. My husband had Jambalaya. Then our amazing waiter suggested a seafood dish that is a favorite. He wasn't wrong! It had noodles, chicken, shrimp and sausages with a creamy sauce. It was ridiculously good. We look forward to returning.
Really enjoyed my experience at Roux Seafood Kitchen! The Mardi Gras pasta was delicious, as was the fried banana w/ vanilla ice cream!
I recently dined at Roux Seafood Kitchen and had a pleasant experience. The ambiance is quite nice, highlighted by a beautiful wall of wines that adds a touch of elegance. They offer some IPAs, I picked 10 Hop Hazy IPA, which I thoroughly enjoyed. For starters, I had the New Orleans Gumbo, which was flavorful and rich. The main course was a delightful Chilean Seabass and Shrimp dish, perfectly cooked and seasoned. I also tried the Jambalaya, which had a great mix of spices and ingredients. The food is good and made to order, ensuring freshness and quality. However, the wait time was a bit longer than expected, even though the restaurant wasn't busy at the time. Despite this, the service was good, with friendly and attentive staff. Overall, if you're in the mood for some well-prepared seafood and a nice atmosphere, I recommend giving Roux Seafood Kitchen a try!
Backstory: when my wife and I first started dating we went to a restaurant that coincidentally was called Rue that was also Cajun and was amazing (no pressure). My family and I came to celebrate our 3 yr wedding anniversary. The restaurant definitely gives the nawlins vibe when we walked in, that also looks great as a date spot. Our server was super attentive and was super mindful that when our baby was sleeping he even filled our waters away to reduce the sound which was really thoughtful. We ordered the New Orleans gumbo, fried calamari, Jambalaya, and the Mardi Gras pasta. One previous concern I had previously with Cajun food in California was that it wasnt seasoned well. Well, NO WORRIES HERE! Everything tasted amazing. If you’re looking for authentic Cajun, you’d roux the day for not for visiting! Let’s go!!
Don’t think it twice, just show up for a great experience. Food is amazingly flavorful, quality seafood and inexpensive dishes, and quiet cozy place for family or couples dining.
Best Cajun food in Southern California. A hidden gem. The gumbo is rich and hearty with the right amount of spice and the oysters are delicious. Fried, steamed or on the half shell. Service was on point. Friendly, attentive and paid attention to detail. Love this restaurant
Very delicious food and the service is amazing! We are keep coming back to this restaurant over and over again!
My best friend took me to have some dinner I had such a wonderful time the service was amazing the food the Hawaiian steak what's my favorite. Definitely won't be my first time.
My wife found Roux while searching for seafood restaurants near us and wanted to try it for her birthday. The place was samewhere between casual and fancy and you could dress either way. They did seem a bit short staffed when we arrived, but our server was working his tail off and was friendly and helpful the whole night. There was also a large party and other tables he was serving and we still felt well attended to. The food was very good overall. We started with clam chowder, a garden salad, gumbo and the spinach-artichoke dip. All were very good. For our entrees, my wife had the Roux Lobster, which she enjoyed. I'm not a huge seafood fan, so I had the ribeye, which was cooked perfectly. I added a lobster tail for my wife to add to her leftovers. The Roux lobster was fresh from the tank, but the added tail seemed to have been frozen. My older son ordered the full rack of lamb. A couple of pieces were a little on the rare side, so we did ask them to be fired a bit more and they came back great. My younger son wanted the alfredo, but with shrimp. They accommodated his request with no issues. The only real issue we had was with the alfredo that my younger son order and also came with the Roux lobster. They came with jalapeños, which wasn't in the description and not something traditionally in alfredo sauce. We brought that up to the server and he offered to remake the pasta without the jalapeños. We greatly appreciate that they made sure everything was right in the end. We noticed that other tables had brought their own wine and beer. We aren't big drinkers, but will be back and will definitely bring a bottle next time if they still don't have their liquor license and don't have a corkage fee.
My husband and I love trying new places. This place is a gem. The food was amazing. The chefs definitely care about what they’re preparing. The photos do this place no Justice. Will definitely dine again when we’re in town. Try them out you won’t be disappointed.
Love this place. Food is very good and tasty. Excellently prepared and seasoned with that Louisiana flavor that you look for when you from the south!
Food was amazing! Easily some of the best dishes I’ve ever had. Service was great and atmosphere was very nice. Definitely recommend and will be coming back
Spinach and artichoke dip to start, gumbo, and cajun grits. All were amazing, thai tea for beverage. Great service. Much appreciated, would recommend, and will return!

I came here on vacation and It was the best food and the best service. I had the steak strips & fries. My family had a variety of different dishes. Pasta, fish, steak. The food was so good we cleaned our plates, I wanted to eat it all over again. The service AMAZING. Very kind and attentive. I will came back to this place every time I visit.
The venue was beautiful for our group of 90. The food was delicious and served on time. Although the sea bass was a hit, every dish on the menu was equally delicious and well prepared. The staff was attentive and respectful.
Been here the twice for dinner. Love the food but it's so noisy that you can't hear the person next to you talk. Both times there was a large group of Matt be 20 people celebrating something or the other in a group of tables smack in the middle. They are all soooo loud. Best to keep large gatherings in their private area than with the rest.

NOLA type of restaurant. Seafood is cooked great in my gumbo. However, the rice is too undercooked for my liking. The overall flavor reminded me of Gumbo in New Orleans, so that's great. The beignets are also delicious and a must try.
Hidden gem! I was looking for a restaurant in the area and stumbled upon this restaurant on Google maps. We went for an early dinner on a rainy Wed night and it was empty when we arrived. A couple of parties came in after us. Our waitress Cynthia was great! She was friendly, smiling, and checked on us often. We would ask for her again when we go back. It's a Cajun restaurant with an Asian flair. Food was so reasonably priced when every other restaurant in the area is getting ridiculously expensive. And the food was delicious too! We ordered the shrimp jambalaya (which had a nice kick and came with big plump shrimps), shrimp and grits (creamy grits with corn), mushroom rigatoni (creamy and rich), garlic noodles (a bit on the sweet side for some reason), and ribeye steak (so tender!).

Our visit to Roux Seafood. Came for the Louisiana style food and left slightly less enthusiastic. Having visited Louisiana on many occasions I would say it is possible my standards were too high but what I was met with seems to be the standard under their soft opening. The lack of alcohol made quite more impact then I thought it would especially with limited fountain drink options. Parking is decent Kid options are non-existent but they do offer an appetizer of Chicken Tenders which saved us. Food was less then preferential. We ordered the jambalaya which was overloaded with 3 main ingredients: Spanish Rice, Bell peppers, and red pepper (Cayenne powder). Clearly leaving out the majority of speices recommended for this dish. Consistency was good and rice was cooked which was a bonus but that pepper flavor was overwhelming and not editable for the diners at my table. I ordered the lobster which was sorely disappointing. (Another reviewer described it best at length). The lobster was presented with a mound of noodles pouring over and out of it. The white sauce had literally no flavor which made me want butter and lemons but nothing really topped it right. After you get through 5lbs of noodles you are met with a mostly broken lobster which took some of the fun of cracking it apart. The meat was tough although did glide out of the lobster so that was nice. The lobster honestly reminded me of the frozen stuff they sell at the store in big quantities and not the daily fresh quality advertised. Overall I'm sorely disappointed despite it being a soft opening the flavors overall were bland or lacking. I hope they manage to workout some of the kinks before opening but unfortunately I won't be back especially with them not catering to kids in any way.

This place started extremely strong with the oysters rockefeller. That shouldn't be much of a praise though, because thats a hard dish to get wrong in the first place. These things though were thick, juicy, and extremely rich in a great way. Slapped ontop of that rock hard bread, Roux had found themselves a winning pearl in these oysters. Honestly, I should have ended the dinner here. Now we get to the "star" of the night called the Lobster Empire... this concoction of seafood, noodles, and sauce really dropped the ball harder than the Hotak Empire which was a very shortlived empire. What we got on our hands here was a severely overcooked lobster, filled with what seemed to be an abundance of frozen scallops and shrimp, then sauce topped. I was advertised a delicate blanc cream sauce over angel hair pasta. Instead I was served this abomination of the blandest cream sauce I wasn't even able to taste, salad tossed together with a Kraft spaghetti box. I had feared I'd come down with the virus not being able to taste anything that was coming off this plate. Lastly, we end on the restaurant where the restroom's water pressure has the might of a thousand suns blasting into a 2cm deep sink. I've spent $100 on things far more stepped on than what this place has to offer, but I sure do regret this one more than the others. All that being said... I would come again. They're in their soft opening so I really can't expect perfection right off that bat. Get a couple drinks in me and another choice off the menu and I 100% have a very differing opinion then the one I currently have above. They really need to expedite that alcohol license application hanging on their door.
Dealing with the manager at this establishment was an absolute NIGHTMARE. Our steak came with 1 side so we picked fries didn’t realize that the seafood platter also came with fries. We asked to switch fries to vegetables but he told the waiter it could not be done. We then asked the waiter to replace fries that came with our steak to veggies. The waiter went inside to ask him came back stating fries couldn’t be switched. We didn’t mind paying extra for veggies so Why couldn’t it be done? The story got better when this absurd manager randomly added an extra corkage fee to our bill without any prior mention or request to open. We asked the waiter she said she didn’t know anything about the added extra charge. When we questioned the manager, his response was “we automatically charge corkage for bottles on your table.” This kind of behavior is dishonest! The experience at this restaurant was completely ruined by the manager’s behavior. It’s evident he has no idea how to run a business or handle customers effectively. Instead of resolving a simple issue, he made things worse with his lack of common sense and poor communication skills. It’s hard to believe someone so incompetent is in charge. Until the management improves, I can’t recommend this place to anyone.
Bro I have been here for 2 hours waiting for my food and it still hasn’t came bro and I was one of the first ones to order and I literally got butter noodles, BUTTER NOODLES BRO. I GOT WHITE RICE TOO. This service sucks and the people who just got here got their food and I’m so mad this did not make my day, I should’ve just got Olive Garden next door. My friends are still waiting for there extras they got and have had to ask for it twice and still haven’t got it
