I just discovered this place Price is good.
Delicious popusas
Their popusas are the most flavorful and tasty in town. Their Mexican food is also great. Been coming here for over 7 years - this location ia new but they have another in Costa Mesa. Highly recommend this restaurant. Order ahead because wait times can be 25 minutes.
I got pupusas to go, and I got there a little too early. The owner was very kind and friendly, and I really appreciated the service he showed. The interior is cozy and homey. Even better, the food was DELICIOUS. I got revuelta, chicharron and cheese, loroco and cheese. The pickled cabbage was the perfect balance to cut through the hearty food, and the flavors of the pupusas were so good! Everything was perfectly seasoned, and the salsa roja was sooooooo savory and spicy. I'm really curious about the rest of the menu and am definitely going back for more.
Love Pupusas! So happy HB has this little gem. I got the bean and cheese Pupusa it was delicious. The cabbage is so good and the fire slasa is sooo yummy. Just like i had in El salvador many years ago.... side note, I even left my purse there! eek! and they kept it safe for me till i could come pick it up. very honest and nice. love the family friendly atmophere.
Really good food, and very friendly service! The pupusas were amazing. Nice that we were served both hot and mild sauce for them. The fried plantains were excellent. We also tried one of our tamales fried and wow, that was delicious!
Amazing gem!!! We ordered pupusas, tacos, bean and cheese burrito and taquitos and all were authentic and delicious. The homemade tortillas made it!! The kids loved it and portions are filling. Definetly found a new local favorite, and right down the street.
I’m so excited to have good pupusas in HB! The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Our server had good advice on the menu, and she was very attentive. The food is very authentic, and made fresh to order. I look forward to coming back soon!
Came here unfamiliar with Salvadorian food, but we have had Pupusas before, so I thought we would give them a try. They were simply amazing! However, what I really loved was the tamales. If you've ever had a Grandma (or a friend's Grandma) that made tamales from scratch and you thought they were crazy delicious, but have been continuously disappointed anytime you've tried them in a restaurant, you have to try the tamales here. Wow, they are just like the proper moist homemade ones made by Grandma! We also tried the "fruit punch" served in a jar 1/3 filled with fresh fruit and our jaws dropped at how good it was. (see my photos) After chatting with the host during our meal, we found out that this restaurant has the same owner as the San Sivar that's been in business for ~20 years over in Costa Mesa. They clearly know what they're doing and we'll be back next time we are in HB!
Best Pupusas in town! They were fresh, savory and had the perfect blend of ingredients! The Horchata was also fantastic!
Real authentic Salvadorian food. Pupusas here are the real deal! Pupusas quesos con loroco are soo bomb! I take all my friends here. I absolutely love this place! Been going to this place at the one in Costa Mesa for years now. Now, I’m so happy their in HB! And at a bigger location.
The bean and cheese pupusas, corn tamales, Salvadoran horchata and agua de ensalada were all delicious! We were also impressed by the very attentive and kind staff. We are so happy to have "discovered" this high quality restaurant in our neighborhood.
Sonia is very kind, helpful, nice, friendly. The owner is great. I love the food, pupusas are the best in Orange County! Great prices and service. 💯% recommended 👌
I've been in El Salvador, and this was delicious nostalgia! Pupusas with pork and chicken soup with cilantro and onion and just a hint of picata was heavenly.

One of the better Salvadorian places I have eaten at. I had the chicken fajitas with my friends ordering the chicken soup (sopa de gallina in Spanish) and the paw soup [paw soup is made of cow hoof] (sopa de pata in Spanish). This place is pretty hidden with a homey atmosphere. The owners are a sweet couple from El Salvador and are very friendly. So much so that they’ll sit in the table next to you talking about their lives. One thing to note if you are not familiar with the culture, substitutions are not impossible but are frowned upon. The food is quite good as well. The chicken fajitas have a great flavor with the tortillas being hand made. The portions size is definitely reasonable for the 17 Dollar price. I would give the fajitas a 8/10. The chicken soup on the other hand not the best but no the worst with a 7/10 rating from my friend. The paw soup definitely was the best dish order with a rating of 8.5/10. We did order papusas and it very good as well 8.5/10. Everything here seems pretty solid and if you are within 20 minute drive definitely recommend checking it out. I gave this place 4 stars but definitely deserved a 4.4 stars

First time trying their fried yucca and it was quite tasty. Very generous portion. I ordered my usual, pupusa de Loroco con queso and a chicharron con queso. Needless to say, I didn't "touch" the chicharron con queso pupusa and had to pack it to go. Next visit, if I order the yucca. I will more than likely just order 1 pupusa. Husband ordered the revueltas (mixed) and said they
Food taste amazing, it just takes a while to get it .. I see lots of phone orders come out before the patrons waiting inside. Not a big deal but due to the long wait the tables fill up quick and hard to find a place to sit and eat. Other than that food is delish :)

We love their food but they’re never open for a dinner order!!! Their hours say they’re open until 8pm but they’re NEVER taking orders at even 7pm. They basically stop answering their phones around 6:45. And that’s fine, but update your hours so that people don’t assume you’ll be open. We’ve never considered 7:15 a late dinner, but I guess it’s late for them. It’s so frustrating because we would eat there at least once a week if they stayed open until a reasonable hour, but they don’t.

The place looks nice and clean but we order food and they took more than an hour to bring it, they charge you first so can not even leave cause you are waiting for your food, the person in charge of taking your order kept on making so many mistakes with other orders , he even gave us pens as a consolation prize being patients. I tried different items like yuca frita, empanadas de platano and tamales de pollo and they are average, I would say don't waste your money on this place for authentic salvadorean cuisine.

I never write reviews, but this place was so bad and so not worth it that I had to. First of all, we had to wait more than an hour for our food. I’ve never had to wait that long for such a small order: just tamales de elote fritos, empanadas, and an ensalada. Second, I’m guessing it was the owner taking orders, but he kept messing up everyone’s food. He messed up the orders of the people sitting to my left and right as well. Both he and his worker kept apologizing, but that didn’t change the fact that it took forever to get our food. When it finally arrived, it was overly salty and definitely not worth the price. The only positive was that the place was somewhat clean, but overall, I wouldn’t recommend it for Salvadoran food. Also, you have to order and pay first, then wait for what feels like an eternity. If you see how long it’s taking, you can’t even leave since you’ve already paid. The tables don’t have numbers, and they don’t even write down your order, which explains why they keep mixing everything up.
