Himalayan Grill was absolutely fantastic! We started with the combination appetizer, which was a perfect introduction to the menu. We ordered the butter chicken and mango chicken along with garlic naan, and everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich, comforting, and beautifully balanced. On top of the amazing food, the atmosphere is stunning — a beautiful setting overlooking the harbor that made the whole experience even more special. Lovely food, lovely service, and a wonderful place to enjoy a meal. Highly recommend!
Himalayan Grill is absolutely worthy place. It is on Pacific Coast Highway. I found this gem on PCH and it is my favorite spot. They have the best momos I ever had in my life. The chicken jhol momo is so juicy and full of flavor. I love the taste of the broth with the dumplings. The chicken sekuwa and chicken chau chau are very tasty. I love to drink the milk tea there. This is the best Nepali restaurant in OC. Every dish is very delicious and authentic. It is the best food in the area and worth the price. It hits the mark every time and I am obsessed with this place. You have to stop here for a great experience. It is my go to spot for real food. Thanks Mr. Bikram for serving us.
Stopped by Himalayan Grill for lunch and had the chicken tikka masala, and it was fantastic. The sauce was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced, and the chicken was incredibly tender. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. Great flavors and a really satisfying lunch—we’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes. Highly recommend!
Had an authentic Nepali goat Thakali here and it was excellent. The flavors were rich, well-balanced, and tasted truly traditional. The goat curry was tender and perfectly spiced, and the overall Thakali set felt like a real home-style Nepali meal. If you’re looking for genuine Nepali food, this place delivers.
Went to Himalayan Grill on the waterfront and honestly loved it. The view is beautiful, but the food is what really stood out. The curries were full of flavor, the naan was soft and warm, and everything tasted fresh. The staff were super friendly and made the whole experience feel welcoming. It’s one of those spots where you just want to take your time and enjoy the meal. I’ll definitely be back, and next time I’m bringing friends.
Had Thakali khana with mutton and chicken. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was authentic, and the scenic view was beautiful. One of the best Nepali meals we’ve tried in the US.
Nepali haru sabai jana lai especially if you are new to the restaurant. Very authentic taste and great hospitality. Highly highly recommended. Big shoutout to Chef Kalpana Tamang and great servers Amrita didi and Bikram dai 👏👏
Lunch By the Boats (outside seating options), Amazing food, orders are made to your spice preference level. The meats are fully cooked, very flavorful without being overpowering, mango lassie was a smooth delight, garlic Nana was perfect 👌 and the rice 🍚 was so light. The serving size was really big and had leftovers for dinner after a filling lunch. Service was amazing, 5 star service from Jems Zimba Lama 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 First time, and I will definitely come back again
we have a boat out in the harbor and this is always our go to place for butter, chicken, chicken, tiki masala, and mango lassi. The service is always amazing and the location is beautiful.
I visited this place for Momo Festival, which is very nice and MoMo are also very delicious. Great opportunity for the kids to learn how to wrap dumplings. Also got a chance to play caremboard after almost 12 years. Nice ambience too.
We alwsys have a wonderful experience at Himalayan Grill Cuisine of India & Nepal (Waterfront), and a big part of that was thanks to Amrita. From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with such warmth and professionalism. Amrita was incredibly attentive. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — and Amrita ensured our dining experience was seamless and enjoyable. Her friendly demeanor and genuine hospitality added a personal touch that made us feel truly welcome. Highly recommend this place, and if you're lucky enough to have Amrita as your server, you're in great hands! Thank you
Stopped by Himalayan Grill Cuisine of India & Nepal while exploring the area and it turned out to be a lovely surprise. The menu offers a flavorful mix of Indian, Nepalese, and Tibetan dishes, with a touch of fusion, comforting and well-executed. Started with the mixed appetizer (samosa, pakora, chicken, lamb), then shared the mixed grill platter with curry and lentils. The garlic naan and roti were warm and traditional. The chicken chili momos were juicy and spicy, almost like General Tso’s style, in the best way. Even as someone from Manhattan, where South Asian cuisine is easy to find, I found this place impressively authentic. The vibe was cozy and immersive. TVs and décor showing Nepal and India really made me want to visit. You can also sit outside at sunset with a marina view, which was stunning. Bathrooms are in the public building, so you’ll need a code. Warm service, beautiful setting, and food that transports.. definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
This restaurant is amazing! I’m so happy we found it. The atmosphere, the service, and the food are spectacular. The gentleman at the front was helpful and knew we were vegetarians and made suggestions for us. Everything we ordered was delicious. We’ve eaten Himalayan in several places, but they had some unique items I’ve never seen elsewhere. The chai wasn’t my favorite, but everything else I’ll come back for, and to try more.
We had the privilege of dining at an extraordinary Indian Tibetan restaurant today! Our server, Michael, provided exceptional service. The lunchtime ambiance was unusually serene, allowing us to enjoy a breathtaking view of the ocean while we indulged in our meal. What sets this restaurant apart and makes it truly special is its location overlooking the harbor, surrounded by a picturesque setting. Upon entering, we were captivated by the immaculate cleanliness and the enchanting decor, which transported us to Nepal with its vibrant prayer flags and authentic decorations. To enhance the dining experience, they have an incredible video monitoring system that offers a virtual tour of Tibet. The service is impeccable, leaving no detail overlooked. They take the time to inquire about your preferences, ensuring your food is prepared exactly how you desire, including the level of spiciness. The staff goes above and beyond by providing detailed explanations of the ingredients in each dish. We had the pleasure of dining with a vegan friend, and we were delighted to discover that the restaurant offers an extensive selection of vegan options to cater to her special dietary needs. We had the opportunity to sample various appetizers and main dishes, including seafood in curry sauce and tandoori chicken. We also savored different soups, and I can confidently say that each dish surpassed the previous one in terms of flavor and presentation. You will undoubtedly be impressed and satisfied with the culinary delights this restaurant has to offer. Furthermore, the pricing is reasonable, and the food arrives promptly, piping hot, and bursting with deliciousness. Without a doubt, this Indian Tibetan restaurant has earned the title of our favorite dining establishment.
We stopped at the Himalayan Grill for a little late lunch. The service was excellent and it was no problem to get hot chai without sugar. I ordered a bowl of Tibetan soup Thukpa and it was nice and hot perfect for a chilly afternoon at the marina. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with Nepali decor. I make it a point to eat here whenever I come to So. California. Best Nepali food in town. Love that so many Thakali dishes are on the menu too.
We have been customers of the Himalayan Grill for almost 15 years… and they are simply the absolute best for a variety of reasons (including but not limited to their dishes, flavor, authenticity, and staff). And our daughters, who have been eating their curry dishes since they were toddlers, also absolutely love their food and staff. As a Brit who grew up with Indian food, I’m so thankful for this incredible restaurant and the people who have made it such a huge success! Thank you guys! We appreciate you.
While on vacation, we craved authentic Nepali cuisine and decided to give this place a try. What a delightful experience it turned out to be! The food was exceptionally fresh, served straight from the pan. We ordered the Thakali Thali, and I was especially taken by the saag (spinach) and chatni(tomato pickle), which they cook right after you place your order. It truly brought back memories of Nepal with its authentic taste. The owner was friendly and welcoming, and we enjoyed a lovely conversation at checkout. I highly recommend this spot for anyone seeking fresh and authentic Nepali food 10/10.
It’s my first time trying Indian food. Grateful for my friend that suggested we came to this place. The place is beautiful, clean, and with a beautiful view. The appetizer, meal, and drinks were delicious. I’m glad this was the place I tried Indian food for the first time. I will come back to try their dessert!
This is a nice, great place that offers delicious seafood! Shrimps, crabs, mussels—they have it! The sauces are amazing. If you’re craving for delicious seafood, visit this location.
Great food, excellent atmosphere, right on the water in Huntington Beach.you can cruise the harbor then pull your boat up at the docks and have a great breakfast or Dinner
Love the seafood salad. Spinach artichoke dip was bomb. Lobster quesadilla was meh, I didn't like the rice in there. The salmon combo with the Alfredo was great. Quality was surprisingly good, I was expecting bar food but it is a good restaurant and great views in the back of the harbor. We actually arrived from the harbor from our boat and stopped here for a meal break. Good service. I would come back!
From the moment we walked in, the experience at Pelican Isle, it was top-notch. The staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive without being intrusive. Every course was perfectly timed, and the attention to detail made the entire evening feel special. The level of service we received was attentive and our server was so sweet. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection — juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. The seafood options were equally impressive; the lobster was buttery and fresh, and the crab cakes were cooked just right with a delicate flavor, the sauce on the crab cakes is a smoky slightly spiced gravy. You can tell they use only the highest quality ingredients. The Drinks from the bar are also great! Love the beer selection. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between upscale and comfortable, making it an ideal spot for both special occasions and a nice night out. Prices are fair considering the quality of food and service you receive. Highly recommend Pelican Isle if you’re looking for a flawless steak and seafood experience. We’ll definitely be back!
May well be the BEST bacon cheeseburger I’ve ever had in my life! What a great little place for a wonderful breakfast or lunch - marina views, spectacularly friendly servers, huge menu of really delicious food, and ample parking. We’ve enjoyed eating here several times over the last few years, and are always impressed! Nice play area adjacent for kids, and dog friendly as well!
Loved this place!! Inside looked like a chill place but we sat outside because it was an amazing day! Waitstaff is welcoming and attentive and the food is excellent! My lobster/prawn alfredo was done perfectly.... not over or under cooked and all perfectly seasoned. My mom had the cajun salmon and it was perfectly moist!! I had the mai tai that was refreshing and well balanced along with an oyster shot that I decided to brave! That went well but it'll be the last LOL When I'm back in town I'll for sure stop here!
Best place ever. Every time we visit I'm always greeted with a big smile and a hello from the best waitress ever Ms. VINNIE! Not saying the other waitresses aren't good she just happens to be the one that always attends to us. From the atmosphere the food and the staff as well as the price. Pelican Isle is 100% my favorite place to have a meal. try to have everything off the menu but I keep going back to the ribeye steak and egg breakfast the best no need for any extra sauce eat it fresh out the kitchen!
Great little spot. We sat on the harbor side patio with our dog. My sons played in the nearby play area while we waited for food to arrive. My family ordered eggs benedict, Machaca burrito, pancake and eggs, and the French toast. My husband and I enjoyed mimosas as well.. It was all delicious!
Bustling bar on marina with good pub grub. Had the best breakfast today after gusty winds blew us off of mother ocean...stuffed croissant (back of breakfast menu). Went home and took a 3 hour nap...PERFECT. wifeys dish was good as well, but the stuffed croissant was over the top! can't wait for the marina construction to finally finish!
Stayed at the beach a few blocks north and saw the sign in the strip mall Friday night. went Saturday morning for breakfast. It looked quiet or closed from the street but once inside you walk through to the marina side for a bar like inside that is open to tables and a dining counter looking over the Marina. I had bacon eggs etc while looking out at the marina. it was great nice staff and good food. The majority of diners were locals from the Marina. Several boaters were heading out fishing and diving.
We had an amazing experience at Himalayan Grill Cuisine of India & Nepal! We ordered the mixed appetizer, Chicken khaja set, Goat khaja set and Chicken steam momo. The momo was okay, I’ve had better ones at other places but the khaja sets were really good. My parents ordered the khaja set medium spicy, but it was a little too spicy for them, so I’d recommend going for mild if you can’t handle spicy. A big thank you to Amrita, who was so sweet and kept checking on us to make sure everything was good. Her kind service made our first time visit even better. We’ll definitely come back to try other dishes.
Food was good nothing sort of amazing. I had the Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan and Kulfi. Simple and comfortable food. Garlic Naan and Kulfi was great. I will be definitely back next week for Nepali specific food. Amruta was the server and very accommodating with all my inquiries. She was very amazing.
This is a really fun bar...but I mean from the outside, it's very deceiving. It doesn't look inviting at all. You walk through that entrance hallway and then.... Bam!! It opens up into this huge bar in the back... Haha 😆. Great vibe!!! Walk all the way to the back and you can sit, overlooking the marina. So nice on these hot days. The food is delicious 😋😋😋. The atmosphere is jumping. You get to karaoke on a Saturday night. Good sound system, fun KJ. We shall return😄
We came here for the 2nd time in the last couple of years to celebrate my brother's nursing graduation and my parents 35th wedding anniversary. We chose this spot because my parents haven't been here and it's perfect right in front of the water. Service was incredibly friendly and we were greeted with cheerful waitresses. We ordered 8 dishes (seafood cobb salad, turkey sandwiches, seafood spaghetti, Alfredo, seafood soup, poke, sliders, and lobster quesadilla). My favorite was the lobster quesadilla and the sliders. The lobster quesadilla was cheesy & delectable and the buns of the sliders were pillowy, squishy, and tender. The Cobb salad was yummy as well, turkey sandwiches were good, the Alfredo pasta was "ok", the other seafood pasta was also okay. My least favorite was the poke believe it or not. The fish didn't seem all that fresh and the rice that came with it was hard. I would've returned it if I could. Overall, we had a great time at our lunch meet and the view was just perfect. Would definitely come back here again! Come check it out! :)
Pelican Isle is a place you want to like. Parked next to the marina, the views are terrific. My server was friendly and helpful. Sat waterside by the marina and enjoyed the sunshine. However, my margarita was like dishwater. No flavor, watered down and not even sure there was tequila. Ordered a burger and fries; Presentation was good, but the patty was burnt on the outside and a cool, squishy pink inside. Sorry, wouldn't recommend the food or drinks.
Really used to love coming here for breakfast with my son, but prices have gone through the roof while portions have shrunken and it really just isn't enjoyable anymore. I paid $4 this morning for an 8 oz plastic cup of milk that had milk that dried in the carton rim in my cup. Pancakes used to be plate-sized now theyre 6".
Used to be one of my favorite places but no more. This is the second time I've come in for my favorite dishes and they were gross. The clam chowder was cold and gummy. The edamame used to be steamed and a large, plump pile of it. Now it's microwaved and burnt, shriveled up. Almost inedible. Two stars because the spot is nice and the bartenders/waitresses are always nice. Not always attentive as they are alone and busy, but do try their best. After decades of eating here, I won't be back :(
food was VERY bad and tasted like it had been frozen and cooked in burnt oil. we got the calamari, crab stuffed shrimp, and a burger with fries. all of it was super bland and the crab tasted like it was probably frozen or canned. It came with clam chowder that had almost no clam. we literally couldnt eat any of the meal we spent over 60$ on because it was so bad, which was super weird for a restaurant right on the bay. at least the view was nice, but the music in the restaurant was so loud that we could barely talk. it was terrible and expensive experience overall.
