Celebrated my birthday here with my friends with all you can eat. We were surprised at the quality of food. It was delicious. 🤤 went a bit overboard with ordering lol because they bring you these ipads to place order to the kitchen and everyone tried to order for everyone. Next time we will just Order separately lol because definitely coming back. Loved that could actually take home what we couldn’t finish - just had to pay by pound. Better than wasting. The dessert was delicious too!
I honestly didn’t expect much from a Japanese buffet, but Honami completely surprised me. The ingredients were genuinely fresh — especially the sashimi. Clean cuts, great texture, and no fishy taste at all. Everything was well stocked and refilled quickly, so it never felt rushed or sloppy like some buffets do. There was a wide variety of sushi, sashimi, and hot dishes, and you could tell they’re confident in the quality of their food. Even the desserts at the end were a nice touch and made the meal feel complete. If you’re usually skeptical about “all-you-can-eat” Japanese food (like I was), this place might change your mind. I’d definitely come back.
My wife and I finally made it to Honami for their all you can eat sushi this past Friday evening. Reading reviews made it seem like we would not get our monies worth due to speed of food and ordering, but we were both very happy with the service and the quality of the food. Once seated they give you a tablet device that allows you to self order food as you'd like it, also provides pictures of all the menu items which make it really helpful for those trying to try new items. We were able to try many different items from soups, appetizers, nigiri, rolls, and desserts and all were fresh & delicious. The wait staff were friendly, quick & attentive at clearing plates & dropping off our new items. We were on the earlier side of dinner, so could definitely expect some lag in delivery of items as the restaurant fills up as they prepare requests on order, but our expectations were exceeded on this visit. We will certainly be back again.
🍣【Long Island Japanese Buffet | Honami】A Japanese food lover will definitely return! I discovered an underrated Japanese buffet in Long Island – Honami, and I only have one thought after eating there: great value for money! 👏 It's a refined Japanese buffet, not the kind that just piles on the food. The sushi and sashimi are very fresh, the fish slices are thick, and there's no fishy taste. The salmon has just the right amount of fat. 🍣 ✅ Sashimi & Sushi: Many varieties, quick service ✅ Hot Food: Tempura is crispy and not greasy, udon noodles and skewers are made to order ✅ Japanese Side Dishes: Not heavily seasoned, very enjoyable The dining environment is clean and quiet, the seating is not crowded, making it perfect for gatherings with friends or family. The staff are diligent in clearing plates and replenishing food, making for a very comfortable overall experience. 💰 Price: Lunch $26.99 | Dinner $36.99, which is reasonable for a Japanese buffet in Long Island. 👀 Suitable for: Japanese food lovers, those who want to eat a lot but also want quality. In short: It's not flashy, but every dish is consistently delicious. If you want to eat a Japanese buffet in Long Island, you can definitely save this place!
Stopped in out of necessity and so glad we did. Snowy night and getting late. Everything was perfect while we ate and warmed up. Everything was great dish after dish. Got the all you can eat. The whole thing gave a tapas vibe. We loved the screen and the quality. I want to go back with a big group.
This was our first time at Honami and it will definitely not be the last. We did all you can eat, and the food came out quick and was excellent quality. We got there when it wasn’t too crowded, so the service was amazing. Our waters were constantly refilled and the servers were attentive. The fish was very fresh and the sushi had an excellent fish to rice ratio. Lastly, the fried ice cream just had a little too much batter on it, making the coating very thick. Overall, the food was great and I can’t wait to go back.
Crazy good deal omg! The dinner is only $36.99 per person, and you get such top-notch quality at this price, it’s an absolute steal 🤑 I originally thought buffet dishes would be sluggishly plated, but I was blown away when the food arrived! Each plate is as elegant as a la carte dishes at high-end Japanese restaurants. I tried four different special rolls, and none disappointed plus, the ratio of rice to ingredients in the sushi is perfect, no heavy "all-rice" mouthfuls at all.
My husband and I dined here recently and it was excellent. The sushi was so fresh and every dish we got was flavorful. The service was welcoming and attentive as well. I originally knocked off 1 star because they didn’t have one of my favorite (and a very popular) items on their menu, Rockies shrimp appetizer. I’ve seen this at every other all you can eat place and I always order it so I was a little disappointed. But after thinking about it, I decided to come back and add the star back because we did really enjoy the food and they responded they would consider adding it in the future. We hope to go back soon!
Amazing all-you-can-eat sushi spot in Long Island! The fish is super fresh and nicely presented, especially the salmon and yellowtail. They have a great variety of rolls, appetizers, and even desserts. The service is friendly and quick - our plates were cleared right away, and everything kept coming out fresh. Totally worth the price, and perfect for sushi lovers who want both quality and quantity. Highly recommend!
Thoroughly impressed with our dinner at Honami Sushi! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, the food was incredibly fresh (especially the sashimi), and the environment was clean and spacious. Plus, parking was super easy with their large dedicated parking lot. We will definitely be returning!
Absolutely loved the unexpectedly high quality of the appetizers at this buffet. The yellowtail jalapeño was incredibly fresh, sliced just right, with a bright citrus kick and a hint of heat that lingered nicely. The truffle white tuna was rich and delicate, with that smooth, buttery texture that melts in your mouth and a subtle truffle aroma that made it unforgettable. These two alone could rival what you’d find at a top-tier sushi spot. What really impressed me was that everything we tried felt carefully made. The flavors were clean and balanced, and nothing tasted overly seasoned or rushed. Each dish looked beautiful too, thoughtfully plated and full of color and texture. You could tell there was pride in how the food was presented. The space itself added to the experience. It felt clean, modern, and welcoming, bright enough to feel lively, but still comfortable for a long meal. And when you consider the quality of food you’re getting, the price is incredibly reasonable. It’s hard to find a buffet that delivers this level of freshness and attention to detail. I’d absolutely come back again, especially for those appetizers. They completely exceeded expectations.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Honami, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting ambiance set the perfect tone for an unforgettable meal. The modern yet cozy decor, coupled with the friendly and attentive staff, made me feel right at home. The attention to detail extended beyond the food to the presentation. Each plate was beautifully arranged, making it almost too pretty to eat (almost!). The variety on the menu was also a plus, offering something for every sushi lover, from traditionalists to those looking to try something new. The service was top-notch as well, happy to answer questions, and quick to ensure that my dining experience was seamless. They even made excellent recommendations based on my preferences, which I truly appreciated. To top it all off, the prices were reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes. I left feeling completely satisfied and already planning my next visit. If you're a sushi enthusiast or just looking for a delicious meal in a great atmosphere, I can't recommend Honami enough. It's hands down one of the best sushi places I've ever been to!
I just celebrated my mom's birthday at Honami Sushi Hibachi & Lounge with a group of 18 people, and it was such a fantastic experience! Sunny was incredible to work with—super friendly and so accommodating from the moment we made the reservation right up to the big day. She truly is the best! The team went above and beyond to make everything perfect for us. The party room was beautifully decorated and was just perfect for a big group like ours. The food and drinks were a huge hit! Everyone loved what we ordered, and we couldn’t stop raving about how delicious everything was. I highly recommend Honami Sushi Hibachi & Lounge to anyone looking for a fabulous dining experience or wanting to celebrate a special occasion. We’ll definitely be back for more! Thank you for making my mom’s birthday so special! Thank you, thank you!
The ambiance is really nice here. If you prefer a quiet, intimate place for a large party, they have a tatami room. If you want to have a more fun experience, definitely try their hibachi! Normally I'm not a sushi person but they make it really good! Sashimi is fresh as well. The staff and service are on point. The price is reasonable for the quality and taste of the food. Everything is just PERFECT!! Will definitely come back and try more dishes!
Ayce is great but taking one star off because they charge for babies.. My kids one and two doesn't even eat anything except a little rice but still got charged. Food is good just think the policy for children didn't make sense. Also, was not aware hot tea was extra $2 per person... Most chinese Japanese restaurants all serve hot tea free so even though price was decent the small add ons add up quickly without realizing we would be charged for things that usually are free.
I went here last night with my family to enjoy the all you can eat dinner deal, and to say I was disappointed would be understatement. Although the food and plating was good, the slow service was quite unfortunate (most of these reviews also highlight how slow it was). Our first order came out 10-20 minutes after ordering and the spree continued with each order being piled onto the next. Every dish, roll or even sashimi we ordered continued to slowly be made counteracting the dinner we expected. In short, while the waiters/waitress were quite fast and helpful and the food was good, nothing could be made up for the very slow service. Would I come back? Yes, but there are better options with faster service. Bill: $180 + tip.
We used to love this place and eat in/order out often but the quality of the food has gone down. The hibachi shrimp we got tonight was fishy and the vegetables were sitting in a pool of tasteless water. Even the yummy sauce was watered down and not flavorful. It’s disappointing because we really loved coming here and the prices are not cheap but it’s been 4+ times of consistently subpar quality.
Very disappointing! My first visit and also my last visit. We are a group of 5 that arrived around 2:50 p.m and were seated immediately. We paid extra $5 for the sashimi and here's the problem. Order was put in and the the servers started serving soup followed by appetitezers. Everything was fine and until we finished with all our food and the dishes were collected, we didn't get the sashimi we ordered. It's been over more than half an hour since we put in the order. I have to call the waitress over to ask her to get our sashimi. While the sashimi was one of the most expensive dishes we ordered, the wait time was noticeably longer than expected, which affected the overall dining experience
We had a 7 pm hibachi reservation, they didn’t have a host and we got seated at 8. Table and chairs were dirty, the food was fine. The chef, Sean, was fun. Not going back
I have been here several times only because the lunch happy hour is at a good price and the food is good. But I’m going to have to look for another place. On a previous occasion I was given rude service and I felt like my group wasn’t treated properly because we are young. When I spoke up and said I was going to leave a review they offered us free dessert. This time the service still hasn’t improved but my reasoning for writing this review is because when I tried to use the restroom I noticed all of the stalls were dirty! My friend and I advised the employees and they laughed after telling them again someone went in to “clean” I will post the pictures of their attempt to cleaning the stalls. Not only were they laughing but they also began to talk in their language so I couldn’t understand them. It’s extremely disrespectful to do this and also disgusting to disregard their bathrooms when a customer is nice enough to let them know they are dirty. Do BETTER, this reflects your establishment. Makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like.
