We decided to visit the CIA during the week, which is typically open to the public. While none of the main restaurants were open, we ended up choosing to grab a quick snack. We were pleasantly surprised when they had table service & dine-in, after ordering at the counter! All of our options were delicious, I thoroughly enjoyed the Croque Monsieur, plus the shrimp & grits! Staff was extremely kind and friendly during our experience - highly recommended!

We went on weekdays in the late morning for casual brunch and did both dine-ins and take-outs. Students were extremely polite and served customers with great care. All tables were kept very clean. And we enjoyed our pizza, bao buns, and pastries. Overall a lovely experience.

Apple Pie Bakery, which is run by students at The Culinary Institute of America, has been on our to-go list for a while. As super fans of pastry, it’s definitely our must-try. We arrived in the afternoon which was too late for their pastries, so we only had their Chocolate Chunk Cookie and Lemon Lavender Bavarian. The texture was extremely delicate with reasonable price. I am usually not into lavender dessert but I liked their Lemon Lavender Bavarian. The cream was light and refreshing with jelly-like texture.

Overall this place was an amazing experience. The service was very fast and the workers very super nice, helpful, and pacient. Especially the cashier who was giving us her recommendations for food and dessert and overall was a pleasure to be around. For the main food it was nothing special that you couldn't find at any resteraunt but still the food was absolutely delicious. The pasteries/desserts were super unique, beautiful and tasty. There was a huge dessert selection. Personally I would really recommend the strawberry shortcake mini pasterie. The drinks were also amazing and super fancy. Me and all my siblings really loved the vanilla bean lemonade with cranberry juice. The vibes and decorations at this place were super nice and gave the place a super fancy feel. I would love to come again.

Reached at 8.05 am while they were still bringing their breakfast cakes out. We ordered a Southwest breakfast burrito and 3 cheese breakfast burritos. Both were delicious. I loved the southwest burrito more since it has a lot of veggies with eggs. The staff was really sweet. I was confused about what cake should I order and with their suggestion ended up ordering peach cornbread cake that was good and a bit dry because of corn flour but peaches complimented it well. The ambiance is beautiful. It feels like you are walking in some fancy restaurant space.

We love making a stop here to the beautiful campus. Free parking and a short walk upstairs. The main hallway to the restaurants have showcases that display food, history and antiques. Highlight: Apple Pie. Our pie was warm and crisp! The pie is sweet and tart and spiced with a crispy granola crumb topping. The crust is generously thick and flaky. We requested plates to eat the pie. Tables are marked with a card labeled “sanitized” to show the table is clean. We ordered assorted mini cakes. Elegant works of art. Each dessert has at least three elements to it. Flavor, texture, filling, crust, toppings. The oatmeal and chocolate cookies are also yummy. Baked round in a mold.

This place is the real deal! Anyone can dine here (student or not) and it is extremely fresh and high quality baked goods. Loved their apple cider donuts, hot cocoa, snickerdoodle, and one of the BEST grilled cheeses (super unique with spice ham, pimento cheese, and beer braised onions).

I only had time to visit this restaurant on CIA's campus, but the sensational food here makes me want to return to sample other restaurants. Simply put...it was a fantastic meal. Due to COVID restrictions, the restaurant was offering a limited menu. One of the student workers noticed that we were having difficulty making a entrée choice and quickly gave us the lowdown on what was best on the menu, including the chicken pot pie and the mac and cheese. Both of those were delicious! I'm not a fan of chicken pot pie, but this was extraordinary. The crust was light and flaky and the pie's contents were cooked to perfection. The mac and cheese was excellent as well. After tasting those two entrees, I was a little sad that I didn't choose either of those and opted for the turkey sandwich. The sandwich was very good but due to the restrictions, it had become a little too cold in the refrigerator which made the bread a little chewy. I don't place any blame on the students or the restaurant however. It was a terrific experience and I enjoyed a pleasant lunch which is a little harder for me to accomplish nowadays. Almost forgot - do yourself a favor and save room for the tasty baked goods the students have prepared - you won't be disappointed. Will definitely return.

I normally love coming here it's my once a month splurge with my fiance. we get different stuff to try each time. I was a little disappointed by the mac and cheese we got today, very dry and the crumbs on top were burnt. it's alright everyone got to learn everything else we got though was delicious

I bought some cakes back home. All small cakes are in an individual box and store in fridge. That’s speed on the packing in cashier. However, I will avoid to buy the long, narrow, tall and rectangular shaped chocolate powder cake. It leaned on the box and the cardboard was way too big for this box and the cake to begin siting on a curved surface. It is so messy to take this cake out.

CIA has wonderful restaurants and the Apple Pie Bakery Cafe offers delicious lunch and dessert options. My only suggestion is to have more of the choices available until actual closing time. We got there around two o’clock and some of the salads, wraps, and other choices were all gone. Would definitely say it’s a must see and have their delicious and tasty lunches and dinners! Visit The Egg too! We had breakfast and had a beautiful view of the Hudson River. We loved reading all of the clever banners along the campus’ streets. We will certainly be back! Loved it!

Regarding the food...need to do better my pizza was all mozzarella.. hardly any fig or prosciutto. My dessert.. outside of being told it was pistachio.. I have no idea what it was supposed to be and it was just ok... My coffee was good. My friends eggplant sandwich was very good. I expect better considering the prices they charge.
