Finally found a Grandy’s in the area! Such a nostalgic experience as they used to be everywhere when I was a kid. They have a great breakfast selection. Biscuits and gravy, country fried steak, hash browns, bacon. All delicious. The only thing I’m sad we missed is the yeast rolls don’t come out til around 10:30am. The employees at this family-run business are sooo nice and extremely helpful to make your experience the best. After bringing my father here before his flight back to VA, the owner said when he visits again to call ahead, and he will make yeast rolls earlier for him. How sweet is that? We will definitely be back, thank you so much! ☺️

I have always enjoyed eating at Grandy's. They never disappoint me. Glad I found this location opened. Double steak meal always hit the spot!

This place thinks it is fooling people because it is red now instead of green (green was better by the way) but it is still the same old style for the past 40 years which is about how long this one has been here. Upon entering I will say this location was clean but still dated. We decided to eat there and found the seating area clean and well maintained. We both had the double CFS, with two vegetables. The meals were value-wise as to be expected. All was up to par with what you would expect from Grandys, quite tasty and fresh. My issue is with the dinner rolls. When we used to eat in the dining room you received unlimited rolls and as a matter of fact they had someone come around and asked if you wanted more rolls. That went to just getting how many you wanted from the counter to now you get ONE roll like you do in the drive thru. That is compounded by charging a REDICULOUS .99 cents per tiny roll or 4.99 for ½ dozen. HEY GRANDYS, I can stop at any Spring Creek BBQ and get unlimited rolls on site that are still brought to me for free, and I can order a half dozen to go for a whopping $3.00 that are TWICE as big as the rolls from you guys. I can understand inflation but stupidity by the pricing folks that don’t know their comps is inexcusable. You are a dyeing franchise, and I hate that because the food AND rolls are still very good.

Hubby went out this morning and purchased 2 BET Sandwiches (Bacon, Egg & Tomato) for me this morning because I mentioned I needed protein. The first one the egg was horribly rubbery and an off putting taste to it. So this second one I took the sandwich apart to examine prior up consuming. I had never seen an hard fried egg with a partial dark coloration to a portion of the enclosed non-exposed egg yolk. A portion of the hard fried egg white was rubbery and had no taste. I did not try this egg yolk. It did Not look appetizing to me. I am discouraged with today’s BET sandwiches. I use to have these quite often. Now, I am not certain I will have again for quite awhile.

We were the only 2 in the restaurant...so.. We had good service, it was quiet and clean. My wife and I have been coming here since the 1980s.... it's been a few years... Sadly the food was a disappointment.

Online says this location (Irving) is OPEN. I drove from Grand Prairie only to find out this location is CLOSED. You need to update online time as Closed.

I purchased double steak plus 2 rolls for $11.21. There was NO GRAVY unless I wanted to pay an extra $1.07!

I just got the worst experience I just stopped in for breakfast I walked to the counter to order they asked me how can I help you I was about to order but they didn’t answer back when I said yes and I ordered the meal with the chicken fried steak they asked me if I wanted bacon I said yes but also the steak so they told me that you said you wanted bacon and I told them yes so I bought the steak separately so I can get both and the lady. Just ignored me they o Other lady told me is there anything else I can help you with and I told her I never got my steak I might as well just get a refund after I get done eating cause I’m hungry brought me the steak I just think that I just got the rudest experience and I’ll never come back to that place after this. I just wrote it’s customer etiquette. Customer is always first before anything. These two ladies need to learn that I’ll never come back to this restaurant ever again

Half of the order was wrong! Photo included of my CFS plate that, as the receipt shows, should have green beans and brown gravy. Just in case you're curious, the CFC plate (was supposed to be CFS) has all of the correct sides. An extra roll was missing (thankfully, not rang in either, despite being requested.)

The fried chicken is old, dried, and over breaded. It was not a good experience. The safest bet is ordering the chicken fried steak. The regular chicken sits under the hot lamp drying out all day. The mashed potatoes and green beans were good but the chicken was a major disappointment. This is why Grandy’s locations are disappearing. Make fresh food and customers will always come back.

My Account

The workers are lazy. With other ”fast” restaurants, the goal is to get you in and out even if that means having customers pull to a parking space and wait for their order in order to serve other customers timely. This particular restaurant does not. Example; If the customer has a fish meal, make the customer wait at the window 7 minutes while the workers are doing nothing. Dine-in is also closed which proves their laziness. Will be going to the restaurant website for a formal complaint. Also, not returning. They have lost much business per hour by their workers laziness because the line does not move. You also cannot get out of the drive thru line if it is backed up because your walled-in. You can here 30 minutes having an appointment to catch and will miss it. AVOID THIS PLACE!
