A very nice upscale restaurant. Our party of six was served effectively and courteously. A good variety of dishes to choose from spicy chicken, poke bowls, flat beards and pizza, and steaks.

A great experience to receive a recommendation from the eatery across the street from The Office. Our visit in Irvington to spend time with a relative in a health care facility we were in search for special take out meals each day. The Office staff was so helpful in packing up our order with plenty of everything needed to make our dinner complete. We & our sister were "over the moon" with the triple-play ribs and two salad selections. Must try the Corn bread croutons: Whoa, so yummy! The ribs did fall off the bones. The hot food stayed hot in containers. The salads did not wilt. Lots of napkins, plates and more. Well done all. Thank you so very much everyone at The Office for making a lovely take-out dinner for us. It is nice that the owners kept some of the dental office decor. Check out the bathroom wallpaper. See you soon. Highly recommend this restaurant. Reservation recommended. Update: We lunch it fine The Office Bistro regularly as we visit family nearby. The quality is still great!

Unusual decor for a restaurant, you are greeted by two toothbrush columns as you enter. Apparently the Office was a dentist’s office prior to becoming a restaurant and the owner decided to keep some of the motif. Anyway, have visited several times and their food and service is consistently excellent. You can tell they take great pride and care in what they serve. It’s a very popular restaurant and reservations are required. I have had to book a few days out on occasion and Summers are particularly busy during tourist season. They offer a wide variety of options and when you are just getting sick of fresh seafood that the area frequently offers, they serve up terrific steaks. The bar is well stocked and they can make anything you can think up. While the menu has lots to offer, I almost always end up ordering one of their specials which adds to the variety. It’s a little pricy but worth saving up for to visit.

This was an amazing experience. Everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommend the crab dip! The server was very kind and helpful. The environment was very relaxed at lunch time on a Friday. We all really enjoyed our time and would certainly recommend and return.

We’ve been visiting different VA towns during our Xmas vacation. This is one of those Gems that no matter where you live, you need to visit Kelmarnick and the Office Restaurant. Named from the dentist office that occupied this space before, it’s atmosphere is bright and the staff is as friendly as it gets. I love a small distinct menu that concentrates on making what they have great. A diverse wine menu, and beer list. Make sure you make a reservation, they are very busy, but not too busy to treat you like family. We will be back a lot, you’ll love the town as well.

We had the best anniversary meal at The Office Bistro! They were so thoughtful with a little sign and a complimentary dessert. We barely had room for dessert because our dinner was so good, but there was no way we could pass up a homemade fruit tart! This is a little gem in a little town, and is definitely worth a visit. Can't thank them enough for a lovely evening.

The Office is one of several newer additions to the growing and popular quaint, yet upscale, village of Irvington ...where walking about the town while shopping then eating is a must when enjoying the Northern Neck . My third visit to The Office I tried the recommended artichoke flatbread, which was indeed tasty. I've enjoyed the Thai chicken salad too, that dish is more filling, and I hear the shrimp basket is a local fav too. All dishes seem well prepared, and flavorful from what I've tried, and I'm anxious to try more from the menu. The staff is friendly and attentive, the side room offers fresh air dining (weather permitting) and the entire restaurant is bright and clean. Each of the eateries in town has it's own distinctive menu and vibe so trying more than one can be great fun after a day of shopping the unique boutiques of Irvington. I'd say try it with friends or family, make it a must on your calendar!

We had the shrimp pow pow, zucchini fritte, Mediterranean pizza & the Sailor sandwich. All delicious. The service was perfect! Thank you for a great date night!

I started with the Pow Pow shrimp which was delicious. Then I got The Southern Gentleman which is a chicken strip sandwich with coleslaw and BBQ sauce. Everything is just amazing fresh and flavorful. Thanks for a great experience.

Amazing! We drove 35 minutes from our RV park to come here. Boy were we shocked! It's phenomenal. The food was amazing, the atmosphere cozy, service was great! This is a must!! Pictured is the clam chowder...to die for!

I ate at the office the first time a couple of weeks ago and it was incredible. Everyone got something different and everyone loved their meal. Highly recommend if you’re ever in the Irvington area.

Excellent way to end our quarantine!! We took about an hours drive to get here and it was worth it! We were served outside with well spaced tables and masked servers. Everyone made safety a top priority! We ordered chicken tender dinner, ribs and steak with chimichurri sauce. Everyone really enjoyed their food! The chicken was seriously good, very crispy on the outside and tender on the inside! Can't wait to go back and spend more time in Irvington. Maybe start a new business across the street!

Excellent food, atmosphere, and service! I had the shrimp and goat cheese flatbread with cauliflower crust. My husband had the softshell sandwich. Both were perfection. Can't wait to go again for dinner and see what the chef can do there. Our new favorite place.

Amazing service with spot on recommendations. One of our favorite places to visit during our NNK vacation. Highly recommend the sizzling shrimp and carrot cake!!

Great experience from the minute we walked in. The hostess was so sweet to our daughter and took the time to answer her questions regarding the “giant toothbrush” outside (apparently they used to be a dental office) and helped her to find the restroom, which was remarkably clean. Our waitress recommended the drunken sausage flatbread for an appetizer and it was spot on. She “warned” us that she was in training but we never would’ve known it as she was prompt, professional, and very familiar with the menu. Everyone was attentive without being pushy. My compliments to the bartender for the margarita! Our daughter loved her salmon BLT and both the ahi tuna and blue cheese crusted filet were cooked perfectly. Portions were very generous. The baklava was a great ending to our wonderful meal. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I wish I could give these folks more than five stars!

Ok. So. After two days in Irvington, with portions that could satisfy a small child, we FINALLY found a place that have large portions and was AMAZING! I just didn’t understand. Everything we had (at every other restaurant) was good, but was sooooo small. Went to The Office for dinner and had the fried Shrimp Platter. Asked for crispy shrimp (which I got), and it came with fries as well. Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures of the meal cause my wife and I HOUSED it! The shrimp was perfect, with the proper type of hand breading and proper crispness; and it came with the awesome remoulade. I’m soooo glad we found an awesome restaurant with the proper portions and taste. The food was what you would pay for, not over priced. Also, shout out to our server Rachel. She was GREAT! Attentive, gave good recommendations, and was overall a joy to have serving us. Would go back just for the service. Thanks for The Office! You guys hit it out of the park! We will be back!

Terrific food. I had a dish not on their online menu, Chicken joojeh. *Loved* it. My wife had their Cobb Salad, likewise. Key lime pie was dense, and divine. My wife ate most of the abundant whipped cream! Beers were interesting and a wide variety in a small number! Very clever decor, in a former Dentist’s office. Nice music. Inside and outside.

Creative and well appointed repurposed space (former dental office turned cool restaurant). Wonderful outdoor dining option. And the food....THE BEST Pow-pow oysters EVER. We also had their totally handmade pizza--bechamel with a variety of mushrooms. So good. And a Cobb salad to definitely write home about! Server was very professional, personable, informative. Just a wonderfully enjoyable dining experience. Rare these days.

I’m gluten-free and was VERY happy with the delicious food I had here. My traveling companions also raved about the food. We are all from different large cities and were pleasantly surprised with the superior food at The Office! Our server, Shi, was adorable; her beautiful smile and personality were visible even behind a face mask (due to Covid19 restrictions)! I wish I knew of such a restaurant in my city!!

Carolyn the bartender was incredible! Her service was the best we've had in all of Northern Neck. The food was fantastic. Wine list was above average. We will definitely return!

We loved this restaurant!! Appetizers, meals, and drinks are all delicious 😋. The service was excellent 😊 (Thank you, Tashima.). I recommend the prosciutto peach flat bread.

We are there twice for dinner. Both experiences were delightful. Excellent service. Extraordinary and interesting food. Worth a trip and definitely a place we return to visit the next time we are in Irvington. My wife said the shrimp and grits were the best she has ever eaten. I enjoyed the orange and pomegranate glazed salmon. Desserts for both were delicious and decadent.

The Office has become our favorite restaurant in the Kilmarnock/Irvington area. We have become regulars….the food is amazing! We love to start our dinner with an order of Pow Pow, and we have had all three, the shrimp, oyster, and chicken. The entrees all have something to offer, aside from them being delicious! Pepperoni pizza is really good, the shrimp and garlic special is a favorite, s well as everything on the menu! Our servers are first rate! Salina and Shy are front of house, and are the ambassadors to the Office, its menu, and these women know everything about the ingredients, sourcing, and steer you with their experience and recommendations! We cannot speak highly enough about the team! Mark, the manager, he comes to every table and checks on his clients….and offers great conversation about his passion for food. The success of The Office depends on these folks delivering a fantastic experience every time! Thanks!

The Office is a charming and inviting place to dine. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal of fillet mignon and lobster ravioli with and appetizer of blood orange scallops and a chocolate chip cookie sundae for dessert. The service was some of the best I've experienced. The server was polite, funny and engaging. She was the perfect mix of personality and professionalism. The food was prepared exceptionally well and, per my wife, her fillet was cooked to perfection. The homemade pasta was delicious and perfectly cooked and I thoroughly enjoyed the kale as a side. I like well prepared scallops and these were definitely well prepared. I highly recommend them. The sundae was good though not exceptional. The restaurant itself was well appointed and comfortable. The only complaint we had, and this is a small thing, was that the noise level became difficult as the restaurant filled up. Unfortunately, I believe this is simply the result of the building itself and beyond their control. This was our first visit but we will be returning to try some of the other menu items. I am especially excited to try the ribs as they looked and smelled wonderful. My only suggestions are that you go hungry and most definitely make a reservation.

From the moment we walked in, you could tell this place was special. The food was amazing! We had a hard time choosing. There were some excellent seafood options as well as meat and unbelievable white garlic pizza! The portions were generous. The prices were reasonable. (even the wine was affordable) The Staff was friendly and attentive. I believe it was the Owners who stopped twice to see if everything was ok. We appreciated that! Highly recommend.

Two friends and myself ate here for lunch yesterday. It was the first time for all of us. We were all very happy with our food. I had the Fiery Shrimp and Pineapple Flatbread, one friend had the Cobb Salad and the other had a Pear Salad. Our server was wonderful and attentive as well as upbeat. It did get a bit loud in the restaurant once they filled up, but not unbearable. All of us were very happy with our experience at The Office and are looking forward to return visit.

Had a really great lunch here. It was very busy in the restaurant, but the waitstaff kept up with the crowd and were very attentive. My wife had the chicken sandwich which she said was great. I had the Cobb salad which was great. My son had the chicken tenders platter. Let me tell you, 1/2 pound of chicken is a lot on the plate. He couldn't finish his lunch, had to take it home. Overall great little local restaurant, good atmosphere and great staff. I would definitely visit them again.

There are no negative things to report from our experience here. A group of 5 of us had lunch with reservations on a Friday at noon. We were greeted promptly by a very friendly server where drinks and apps came out as soon as they were ordered. Their list of mocktails was so appreciated by some of our party, and all drinks were refreshing. We got the bacon and fig flatbread (chef's kiss), pow pow shrimp (enough for a small meal and excellent spice level), and the Brussels for appetizers. A few of us got the Cobb salad for an entree and it was seriously one of the best salads I've ever ordered for the price! Juicy chicken, crispy cornbread, rightfully dressed. A few others ordered the pecan gorgonzola salad and had no qualms. The shrimp and grits were bountiful with shrimp, sausage, and flavor. Overall, fantastic experience and highly recommend!

Not only was the food delicious, they accomodate requests (pow pow shrimp on top of a salad). Our waitress was so much fun and absolutely the best waitress and the manager always stops by to see how everybody's doing and he is always visible. Definitely our favorite restaurant in the area.

Had an excellent meal at the Office last week. Wife had the fried Shrimp and I had the Ahi Tuna. She had plenty of Shrimp and commented on how good the fries were. My Tuna came on a bed of "Forbidden" rice on a sizzling platter. Just plain GREAT. Had a drizzle of horseradish dressing on it to top it off. Service was excellent, as per usual.

Great gorgonzola salad. The dry rub ribs were tender and very flavorful. Pizza has a great cheese blend and pepperoni is high quality.

Enjoying our anniversary in Irvington brought us to, The Office. Every item we ordered was delicious. Lunch started with blood orange scallops as the appetizer, the Country Cobb Salad was so fresh and my husband could not say enough about the Wagyu Beef Burger. We decided to decline our reservation made elsewhere to go back to the Office the next evening for our special anniversary dinner. I had to go for more scallops, this time I ordered the scallop dinner and my husband had grilled filet medallions, both cooked to profession. We enjoyed a slice of carrot cake packaged to eat later, again, it was out of this world. Our waitress, Shy, stole our heart with her charisma and professionalism. We can't say enough on the excellent food, and can't wait to go again.

Just wanted to check the place out. I wasn't too hungry so i just ordered dessert at the bar. Brooke, who was the bartender was fabulous. Such a sparkly personality! The GM, Mark, even said hi to me and we talked for a bit. It's a really friendly place with great dessert. I will definitely be back to try their food.

Although this restaurant was packed, we felt welcome and relaxed from start to finish. The service was impeccable, and every dish at our table of 8 was fresh and delicious. I loved the white pizza.

This place is precious. At one time it was a dentist office and they've kept little nuances of the old dentist office there. Food is amazing, service is great. I highly recommend the espresso martinis. Worth trying

I have been here many times and always love everything about it. The service is stellar. Atmosphere is upscale but comfortable. Food is always awesome! Menu changes seasonally. Never had something bad on this menu. Kids love the pizza. We had the burger and cheesesteak last night. Both delicious. Desserts are good too. Try the carrot cake and you won't be disappointed with the size of flavors. New patio adds a nice option to be able to sit inside or outside.

Very comfortable upscale environment. Usually have very friendly and efficient service staff. Food has always been good in my previous visits. A little on the expensive side, IMO, but probably in line with other fine establishments. Excellent parking. Clean restroom. Like that you can dine inside or out. I’m usually by myself so I sit at the bar.

Great place, good food! Had steak shish kabob, and Thai chicken salad! Both tasty! Cannolis we’re really good. Best part was Shy, our server! She was hustling and making sure we had a great evening. Evidence of short on help, but we really enjoyed our night!

J
JR Austin

Nice decor, good food. I had the salmon BLT and it was super tasty. We sat on the back porch which is very nice. Good beer on tap, served cold in a frosty glass. The iced tea would be my only complaint - it's very weak, peach green tea. You'd be better off with water.

L
Logan O'Bier

I've been a customer for many years and have only recently had issues with the consistency and quality of the food. One of my favorites is the Cobb salad. It used to come with lovely chicken tenders cooked perfectly. The last few orders have had only a few small pieces of chicken that were egregiously overcooked. I would like to see the quality and consistency return.

C

Visited for the first time for our honeymoon.. The pow pow shrimp was amazing. Had the filets which were not cooked to temp but the waitress brought new ones. They could use salt pepper. The mashed potatoes were probably the best we've ever had! Lobster pasta was good. Our waitress, NaShya is phenomenal ! Her personality is what made our experience over the top. I guess recommendations are expected as the hostess told us we had a time limit. Lol No biggy though. Lovely experience for our first time there! Heaters outside was sooo nice also.

C
Craig Spisak

It's above average but not exceptional. I think all the appetizers were better than the entrées so consider trying several of those. The 💥 shrimp and flatbreads were very good.

M

I often order food to take out from here. The food is always delicious, everything we have tried is great. However, the lady behind the bar, who also takes food orders is rude... absolutely no people skills and pears to be disinterested in the patrons or their orders. It time reviewer...

K
Katy Ricalde

I assumed this place would be good. Good reviews and this place makes you put a cc down to hold a reservation and charges $50 A PERSON to cancel less than 24 hours in advance. Usually only good places do this. Let me tell you… to pay $50 for the entire meal we were served would have been robbery in and of itself the food was that bad. When we arrived they told us we had 2 hours to eat bc the table was reserved for 745pm. Hi, if it takes us more than 2 hours to eat that’s bc you’re too slow— just saying. Today is my birthday and this place is the worst meal I have had in a very long time. Everything was bland. The bread basket was even terrible. The zucchini frites I knew would be awful the moment she sat them down. They looked about as appetizing as McDonald’s nuggets and tasted even worse. 0 flavor, way too much breading and even the sauce was bland. My husband had pow pow shrimp he said they we fine, nothing special. My husband and I both ordered the ribs (first mistake was ordering the same thing) neither of us ate more than a few bites— my husband said hands down top 5 worst ribs he’s ever had in his life. He actually spit a bite out quietly in his napkin. I had a side of bbq with mine and the vinegar base tasted like it was legitimately bad. The waitress highly recommended the pizza so we ordered one for the kids and I had hoped it would actually be good since we didn’t eat the ribs— it was not. No flavor at all. My kids barely ate the 1 piece each I cut up for them. It was the only thing we took to go solely bc I was worried the kids would be hungry later. My husband ordered a glass of wine and when he didn’t drink any of it I asked if he was feeling ok and he said it was “terrible.” My husband is way too nice. He refuses to ever tell a restaurant the food is bad, he just says thanks, tips well and leaves, but it was a complete waste of money and I am very disappointed. I would absolutely never return or recommend The Office Bistro. Truly Applebees would have been a better birthday dinner. What a way to end the day…
