My coworker put me on to this place. Apparently they make *one* batch of carnitas a day, and once it's gone, it's gone. The carnitas is good. Mild and not super greasy like other spots. We always get the carnitas burritos. Their green salsa is spicier, but the red tastes better. I can't speak on the other food but the carnitas burritos are bomb!

For over 25 years I have past this place, then this morning I was working in front of the restaurant and stopped and ordered the BBQ Burrito. Let me tell you it was fire 🔥I have a lot of years of making up to do. A diamond 💎 in the hood! The people that work there are great and patient. Please stop and support.

The food is one of the best Mexican spot I've had in a long time .. my mouth is watering up just writing this review!! If I could give them more then 5 stars I would!! I would 100% recommend!!

El Ranchito had four tables set up under a permanent awning for dine in. I ordered a carneasada burrito. The staff rattled off everything in the burrito and if there was something you didn’t want you flagged that item. Cash only for payment. My burrito arrived with no fork or spoon. I ate the burrito holding it with my hands, the texture was soft and moist with no juice dripping from the burrito. Taste was very good, smell enticing and my mouth had a pepper sensation but not a burning sensation that lasted a good twenty minutes after the meal. Just incredible. I’ve walked over 30 miles of South Central LA and my lunch today topped all burritos I’ve eaten not just in South Central LA but LA in general! Staff was friendly, courteous and fast!

I’m originally from Alaska and I have to say that Chuy, Edgar, Evi and Jesus senior are some of the most respectful and honest people I have met. They have owned and operated this place for 39 years and counting. They sure put a lot of love into their food and you have to try it to know what I’m talking about. South Central’s best taco shop!!

If you are looking for authentic home made food, look no further. Service is fast and cheap. Located close to USC, El Ranchito can sure to provide breakfast and lunch for less than $7.

The food, the ambience, the people are handsome. The gentleman hooks it up with the meat. It's tasty, very filling and affordable. Everyone should try it if they want authentic mexican food like tacos and aguas frescas. They recently renovated by adding a mosaic round table and benches.

This little place has the most delicious barbacoa and their portions are very generous. Absolutely recommend it.

One of the last great family ran restaurants. Where else can you get a pair of tacos, rice, beans and a soda for $5. The thing about this spot is everything taste great. Al pastor, Barbacoa, Buche, Pollo, Carnitas, Lengua, Asada, Juevos con Jamon and all are full of flavor. If homestyle flavor, reasonable prices and good service in a taco stand is your thing, this place is for you. Don't sleep on this place it really is a gem less than a mile from USC and downtown LA.

The carne asada is very good here. I recommend the carne asada taco, the torta is good too but sometimes they skimp on the meat. I got the carne asada torta and my mom got the asada taco. The taco had much more meat in them.
