We discovered this bar because it's close to our accommodation, and all I can say is that the food is spectacular. We had lunch and dinner there all 10 days. Aside from the (affordable) price, the food is delicious. The waiter and the waitress are super friendly and make sure you don't want for anything. The terrace is also wonderful. The tapas are delicious.

We were here for lunch on a weekday. They take the covid safety measures seriously and that should be highly appreciated! Tapas size is huge and you can have your own choice of tapas every time you order a drink. Love all the food we had especially the seafood! Friendly and helpful service too - will definitely come back for more :) 🦑🌟

Located near the Basilica of San Ildefonso and very close to the Cathedral. We had some appetizers and a sandwich. The service was excellent, with a friendly, humorous, and attentive waiter. We ate with our dog on the terrace. 100% recommended the Migas. Excellent. The sandwich was a whole loaf of bread. It served the three of us, plus a small piece for our furry friend, along with some ham and tomato toast. The price is affordable. It's definitely recommended if you're in Jaén and want a delicious meal. Inside, they had plenty of space with tables for tapas and accessibility ramps. The only downside is that the terrace is very close together and in the middle of the street, making it very busy.

It had been a while since I'd been there; it's under new ownership. The food is good and homemade. They have a variety of tapas, and the portions are generous. The service is friendly and helpful. If it's busy, the service can be a little slow, but I think that's normal. Highly recommended!

Quite a basic place but all the better for it. No table service but the tapas are big. I really didn't like the flamenquin however the Migas and Alpujarreño were really excellent.

They call a simple plate of chips with an egg and a chorizo ​​sausage a "tapa alpujarreña." I was expecting a real "tapa alpujarreña," albeit in tapa size. It was my favorite place three years ago when we discovered it, and we were always looking forward to returning to Jaén for a meal. This visit was a disappointment. We went inside and there was no table service, and the tapas selection is no longer what it used to be 😌. I even asked the waiter if they had changed owners... It's a shame that a place where you could eat incredibly well has become just a place for tapas.

I had very fond memories of El Santuario, one of the legendary tapas bars in Jaén (especially popular with young people and university students), and honestly, I wish I'd kept those memories. The price is reasonable (a drink and a tapa for €2.80 in my case), but the experience was quite bad: incredibly slow service (understandable considering there was only one waiter for the entire terrace) and they only accept cash or Bizum (is that even legal?). When it came time to pay, we went inside and the bar and dining area were in a deplorable state, littered with dirty dishes and leftover food (also understandable given that the bartender was the only one serving the entire dining area). Everything was so filthy that I seriously doubt it would pass a health inspection. It's quite sad to see what one of the most iconic bars in the city center has become.

Lamentable. Queríamos pedir y nos quisieron poner trabas para atendernos, cuando ya teníamos sitio dentro. Pedimos una caña con una tapa, la caña llegó a buena hora, pero la tapa ni siquiera la pidieron. Fui a preguntar como iba, y nos hicieron el paripé de "Sí sí, ahora veo cómo va" nunca lo comprobaron. Tardaron hora y pico en traernos la misera tapa de un bollito con lomo y queso, que tampoco era nada del otro mundo. Experiencia lamentable. Pongo una estrella porque no se pueden poner 0. Ni negativas, desgraciadamente.

Los chicos súper agrios, que no cuesta nada ser simpáticos. Después no nos atendían para poder pedir y encima atendiéndonos comiendo. Yo como camarero entiendo las horas que se echan y tal pero el protocolo nunca tienen que perderlo. No volvería 😅

El camarero de fuera nos ha faltado el respeto desde que nos hemos sentado en la mesa , llegando a decirnos que tuviéramos cuidadito con el después de pedirle unos tenedores , yo creo que este señor se tendría que dar un retiro espiritual de unos mesecillos porque lo veo con mucho estrés ... Esta muy agobiado y creo que se le está empezando a caer hasta el pelo , de hecho ahora mismo está discutiendo con otra mesa en nuestra cara y no para de decir barbaridades por la boca faltando la educación en todo momento a los clientes. Un 0 para este camarero que no sabe estar de cara al público, pónganlo en la cocina. Por otro lado ni hablar de que las raciones han llegado tarde , nos han puesto las sobras de las patatas y encima nos pone un vaso sucio y un tenedor deforme.

They don't accept card payments. Only cash and Bizum, but they require a minimum of €10 (although they wouldn't accept Bizum at the time of payment either, claiming it wasn't working). We went for lunch and, after quite a while, we only managed to get two small sandwiches and two beers. Disorganized and chaotic service. They're completely disorganized. Understaffed. I SUGGEST YOU ASK FOR A RECEIPT. WE ALL ARE THE TAX OFFICE!!!

We were going to sit at a table in the shade, and with four of us, he tells us no, that table is for families, and that we should go to another one in the sun. Two minutes later, he gives the table in the shade to a couple. You can't pay by card, and you can't choose the tapas for more than three people, as the menu says. The weakest table wasn't there, and he didn't bother to arrange it. In short... the only drawbacks for going for a beer. To top it off, it's expensive.

It's nothing like what I had in mind a few years ago. For starters, they don't accept card payments, which turns many customers off. We went inside for dinner and discovered they don't offer table service and the wait time is incredibly long. We almost drank the first round before they even brought the tapas (even though it wasn't anything too elaborate). Plus, we had to repeat the tapas to the waiter three times because he couldn't figure out what we were ordering (a regular notebook to write it down would have been nice). We only had one round because it was incredibly long, not to mention the poor treatment we received from the waiter. Just as the service was slow, so was the check. They didn't even pay attention to us until we approached the bar to pay, and even then, they took a long time. The bar was full of unclean plates and glasses, which seriously undermines a place like this. It's all terrible, honestly. I won't go back.

We ordered a couple of beers with tapas. I wanted some patatas bravas and specifically asked the owner if the brava sauce was really homemade. He told me to my face that it was. A few minutes later, he came with french fries that tasted more like fried white anchovies than fries. The oil in the fryer probably had not been changed in ages. Anyway, apart from that, behold: fake brava sauce from the supermarket. Oh well, I definitely will never be back there again. Two thumbs down
