Great food and atmosphere. Nats were a little heavy outside unfortunately but we got to sit in the netted porch. We ordered tons. Oysters were big and delicious, shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, Georgia shrimp with old bay… everything was amazing.
Went for breakfast. Not too crowded. Service was great. Gravy and biscuits were some of the best I’ve had Dog friendly on the patio. Can’t wait to come back and check their beers
Great place to get fried food! Oysters were really good! I was hoping they would have had hush puppies. I also would have liked more ocean front seating. Bathroom did have a changing table for young kids. Beer selection was great and getting a flight of beers is a great way to sample things! Loves the crab cake!
Upon our family's arrival, we were treated with great courtesy. Brittany provided fantastic service!!! The culinary expertise of Chef Daniel and Chef Bria resulted in A1 dishes. We will definitely be back 🥰
Was a little pricey for Christmas but everything was delicious and service was great 👍
Our 1st time eating here this evening & THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!!! Definitely good service from our friendly waitress Anna. Wanted to try the place since we could just walk to it from our hotel,"The Holiday Inn Resort". Nice to sit outside & enjoy the food with screening to keep the bugs away as well especially in the evening or night with the good lightening that comes on. Food was pricey but was definitely worth it since enjoyed it so much especially the Steak, Fish, & our friendly waitress we had. The Fried Calamari was delicious, the Steak was cooked perfectly with good fat on it, & the Fish tasted awesome in the thick batter it was dipped in. Definitely would eat here again whenever staying on Jekyll Island
First off, they have a great local bear selection! As for their food, service, and atmosphere, I can't say enough positive things about them. Scarlee was our bartender/server, and she did an amazing job of making us want to come again.
My wife and I had dinner with our grandson the other night and it was very nice out on the patio area even though it was raining outside. Cool breeze while we enjoyed our dinner. We had a BIG pizza that 3 people could have shared that was really delicious. Kids meal portions are also pretty big for the little ones. The wife had the BBQ sandwich with slaw and we had great service from Roddy. 5 stars for the Beach House Team!
We thought that the food we purchased was great value. We had fish and chips (huge portions) side salads, side roasted veggies. All nicely presented. Bottle of cabernet. For 2 people it was under $100 and very flavourful. Server was great and very attentive. Fantastic oceanview location.
"I had a wonderful experience at Beach House Restaurant! The atmosphere is fantastic, especially with the oceanfront views. We enjoyed sitting on the spacious patio, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, particularly the fresh mahi-mahi, which was a standout. They also have a great selection of craft beers, and the portion sizes were generous. It's a perfect spot for a relaxed meal with a great view. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting the area
We eat here for lunch my sister and I shared a Crab legs Shrimp boil with potatoes corn and eggs it was pretty good we added another cluster or crab for $15 dollars this place emtpy which made us suspicious, but the food was great and fresh .
Celeste was an excellent waitress and she sure makes the best sweet tea and sweet tea and lemonade! The fried shrimp was excellent and crunchy, onion rings were great, ask for the ranch it’s homemade and very good!
This was my first time eating crab legs . Was not disappointed! This is located near the sea turtle place! Very empty place around the time we went which was 2-3 pm ish. Staff was very friendly and went beyond expectations to assure great service.
Excellent service and great drinks. The roasted oysters were next-level delicious—absolutely worth it!
We really enjoyed our meal here. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was great. Loved the pretzel and had a huge serving of yummy fried shrimp.
Beach House was incredible! The service was top notch. Our waitress, Amiya, was very personable and stayed on top of things. She recommended many great options too, made sure our drinks were delicious, and was super attentive. We had the fried green tomatoes and they were yummy. We had the Beach House Boil and it was the best boil we’ve had on the island! The crab legs were FRESH & so great!!! Dewayne, from corporate, was very nice as well. He stopped by to speak and spent time telling us about the growth and other things to try next time too! We will be back! Overall, this was the best we’ve had on the island!!!
A wonderful place for the family!! Indoor and beautiful outdoor dining!! The view outside is just spectacular!! Everyone is warm and welcoming, and on top of your meal from start to finish no matter how small or large your party is!! Menu is great and they always have a great special!! Their mahi mahi is so fresh and perfectly cooked and seasoned!!! A great variety of kids dishes as well!! Everything is fresh, the salads are delicious!! Casual dress, so whether you are coming from a day at the beach or water parks it’s perfect! Decor is so beach thoughtful, oyster shell lamps and cool metal sea life sculptures!!! Their cocktails are perfect!!
I had the 1 pound of Georgia fried shrimp....TWICE! It's that good. Everyone else's food was great too. Burgers and Chicken Tenders. Nice vibe, we had a live saxophone player doing jazz. It was great! Thanks!
My husband & I had a late lunch here today and our waitress Kalyn was the best!!! We had our 2 dogs with us and she made our 1st visit the best!! They have a screen in porch with ceiling fans and it was awesome!! The food was great!! Our plates were overflowing with delicious food!! Thank you Kalyn for being the best waitress!!!
45 minute wait on a Wednesday night but turned out to be worth it. First, do not Google the menu. We picked our entrees while waiting only to find out each of us was looking at not only different menus, but not the current one. Seafood dishes will run almost $30, but sandwiches were more reasonable. Service was fast once seated, and we had the best seats in the house out on the beachside porch. We had a teen who loved the chicken wrap, and the burger and chicken sandwich were both great. The only disappointment was the strawberry shortcake dessert. For $8.50 we expected something decadent. It looked beautiful, but was just frozen cubed pound cake, whipped cream, and strawberry gel. Update: See the restaurant reply 👇. This is customer service, even when the customer is gone!! Bravo Mel!! A positive explanation & reply ensures we will be back as customers again and again! Looking forward to the next visit!
I had the Beach House Broil. It was buttery, garlicy, and delicious! There was so much food i had to get a to go box. Amiya was my waitress, She was super sweet and was very attentive. She checked in a few times to make sure I had everything I needed. I will definitely come back here on a future visit to the island.
The food was delicious. The burger is very tasty and the chicken tenders perfectly crisp. The atmosphere was relaxing. The waitress was attentive and always brought drinks. The cocktails are very strong and made right!
Had a really pleasant experience here. Great hostess who added us to a wait list on a busy night. Nice waitress who let us know kitchen times and brought pepper sauce with the collards! Good food and good portions. I like that they serve local shrimp.
Lizzie, our waitress, is a blessed individual, so very accommodating and understanding. Our dinner, that is my wife and I, was well prepared and delicious. Compliments to the chef, and of course, Lizzie, who made our experience here extremely pleasant. When returning to Jekyll Island, looking forward to dining here again.
Second time eating at the restaurant under new management. Visited the restaurant in August with a group of eight. Our group’s order included multiple appetizers, steaks, fried shrimp dinner and shrimp boil. All meals were well presented. I heard no complaints about the meals. Visited the restaurant last night(10-31-25). Again, the food was delicious. We had a group of six and all had different meals. Started with the large pretzel and calamari and both were excellent. Our meals included steaks, crab cakes, low country boil, boiled shrimp and salad. All meals were great. Service was great. I have eating many times at this restaurant over the years. The restaurant has improved tremendously since new management has taken over. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Very laid back atmosphere which is great especially if you have children.
Everything about this spot is just right — from the food to the atmosphere to the service. our bartender and server, really stood out. She’s friendly, attentive, and somehow made the whole experience feel effortless. Drinks were on point, the food tasted great, and she kept the table laughing while making sure everything ran smoothly. That kind of service makes a huge difference, and it’s why we’ll be coming back. The place itself just has a really welcoming vibe, perfect for casual nights out or just catching up with friends. the overall experience make it one of those spots you remember and keep coming back to.
This was our second time eating here, employees were super nice and helpful. Food was tasty, but small portions. Restaurant may need updating…
Wife and I stopped by for a dinner on a Sunday at 6:30. We were seated without a wait. We sat outside on screen porch where there was live music which was nice. Wife had a burger and I had the fried chicken sandwich. Wife had collard greens as a side and I had fries. Burger was good and greens were very tasty. Chicken was a bit over cooked. They have a full bar and a large selection of draft beer.
Food: Although the menu was limited, the fried tomatoes were really crispy and good. It was served hot. The taste was unique. The shrimp pasta was amazing. The quantity was worth the price. Everything was cooked really well. The chicken tenders basket with a side of pasta salad was good too. The tenders were served hot and crispy. It tasted fresh and were jumbo in size. Would love to see more vegetarian options. Service: Pretty good and fast service. The waitress was responsible and kept refilling my drinks. She also checked in to see if we were doing good. It is a dog friendly place with outdoor seating available. Make sure to reserve before you go.
We went here in Febuary 2024 and it was amazing. We visited again in February 2025 and I am not sure what changed, but it was not as good. In 2024 it smelled so good as we walked in, but in 2025 the fish smell hits you at the door and not a good fish smell. In 2024 it was packed and we waited to be sat. In 2025 it was not near as busy and there was no wait on a Saturday night. The appetizers both years were delicious. As for the meals both years I had the steak sandwich and this years the steak as dry and not good. My wife had shrimp and grits both years and said it is amazing both times. The service both years was great and on point. I just do not know if I'll be back next year or not. Try if you want or don't, because it is a lot of money to chance getting an okay meal.
Food was actually very good, but very small portions. 1/2 LB of snow crab was a small cluster with 3 legs and a claw. Had cheesecake for dessert and it was tiny. Tasty but small. Service was very good and drinks were potent and mixed well.
Love the Atmosphere, Gluten-free options are available and very delicious, the only issue was our server she acted like she didn't want to be there and made us uncomfortable and hesitant to ask if an item was Gluten-free.. We were there just before the dinner rush for Thursday night. We decided to order a light dinner to keep it easy.
Fried Green Tomatoes: piping hot and yummy! Grilled Grouper: perfect. The Brussel Sprouts, velvety CousCous and the side of Collard Greens were equally perfect. Fish and Chips: a hit. Key Lime pie: the freakishly green drizzle aside, it was very tasty. Waitstaff were a bit slow but it worked. GET A RESERVATION!!!!!!!
So the food was really good. Our server was really good. The atmosphere was nice. Everyone in the place was genuinely pretty nice except for the bar keep. I went over because my friend wanted some water. Asked her for water and she was cleaning some glassware and she looked at me and said okay in a condescending way and then did not fill the water up at all. Prices are kind of high but it's a nice restaurant. It's on an island.
Tasted like your average bar good. I liked that we had a reservation and got seated immediately when we got there even though people were waiting. We did have to wait awhile for our check. Luckily there was a good football game we could watch from our seats.
Crabcakes are fantastic with house made remoulade, mac & cheese was delicious (and we are a picky group when it comes to mac& cheese). Thanks to our server Lizzie, we sampled and fell in love with a local stout - Savannah Red. Our server Lizzie was terrific. She is very knowledgeable regarding the menu and ingredients and made great reccomendations. The chicken fingers had good flavor but were tough and chewy, skip those. The key lime pie is tart and served with his made whipped cream.
Atmosphere Nice place looks recently renovated. Nice tables, seats, and bar. Service Took 3-5 minutes before anyone even noticed we were at hostess desk. And they were empty. Food Food had huge portions. The fried shrimp were good. Burger was ok Kids meals were decent. Just a good solid choice but no where near a 5 star.
Good location but not a lot of options, especially not much seafood options for a place on the beach. The food was okay but overpriced. My husband said he did like the fried oysters. The grilled grouper was okay but over seasoned making it taste too salty. The vegetables also had too much seasoning/salt, making them hard to finish. Among us we also had a burger, pretzel, fries, and chicken tender all of which were just okay. Our server was really nice and the place was very clean.
To be honest the food is subpar. Nothing is really good. It's All just edible beer was warm. They have a lot of options, but what's the point if you can't serve it at a decent temperature? Pizza had no flavor to it. Bad dough. I do like the atmosphere of the restaurant but as far as food goes they definitely need an overhaul service was okay. I wish you would have came to my table a few more times than she did but overall was friendly
Our drinks were delicious and the service was good. The inside of the place is neat to see. However, our food was tough and tasteless. If our drinks weren't good, it would've been 2 stars for food.
The food was quite disappointing; they were out of syrups for chicken and waffles, and the avocado on my toast was brown and spread so thin. My friend’s wrap was so soggy and dripping juice everywhere. They also forgot our grits and were missing one of our chicken tenders. There were only 2 servers in the entire restaurant during peak lunch hour on Sunday so we waited about 45 minute to get our food.
Had a great experience last year. And came back this year. The pizza was smaller and not even hot when served. I think this spot will be omitted from pizza. They had a great thing going, but change is sometimes is not good. Red Bug is way better and that's sad to say.
Calamari was very good. Broccoli perfect, mashed potatoes good, $35 Grouper was dry and way overcooked.
While on Jekyll last week, I ate at this restaurant 3 times. The only reason I went was because it was super convenient to our hotel, and I had no car since hubby was on a golf course. The first lunch was chicken tenders. Very dry and could only eat half of each piece. The second meal was only an order of roasted brussel sprouts and bay fries. The food was good this time but it took 35 minutes to get my food and I was the first person seated for lunch that day. The third time was the worst! I ordered a chef salad to go. I took it back to the pool at the hotel to eat. The lettuce was covered in a black slime from rotten pieces of lettuce in the mix. The salad was $17 + change. I could only eat the cheese, meats, veggies and boiled egg on top. I will not go back there. So disgusting and disappointed.
The food was fine but the service was the worst I’ve ever seen, it took us (a family of 4) two hours to receive our breakfast order and only half of it arrived, and the other half came 45 minutes later, the restaurant had maybe three other customers so I’m not sure what happened with that. We had to repeatedly get up and walk around the restaurant to find someone to help us when we wanted more coffee and to know where our order was. We made the mistake of giving them a second chance and came for dinner a few days later. At dinner it also took two hours to receive our order and they forgot one of our entrees and NEVER BROUGHT IT OUT. When we asked if it was coming they said no and that it was ok because they would take it off the bill. They tried to solve the issue by putting one of the entrees in between two people and suggesting they share.
Was on the island for a conference. I chose this restaurant after viewing the menu online. I read the reviews but went forward with trying it out anyway. The hostess greeted us and seated us without a wait. It was raining so we decided to eat inside instead of on the patio. We waited five, ten, then fifteen minutes and no one came to greet us, not even with water. Several of the staff including the hostess that seated us, visibly saw that no one had come to our table. We waited five more minutes then decided to just leave. Upon leaving our table, two waitresses saw us head to the door and rushed up to us and said, “No one took your order?” At this point I was so irritated I just shook my head no and headed for the exit. The place was completely empty almost. We should have never had to wait that long for someone to come to our table. Someone should at least came to our table to say we will be with you shortly. Any acknowledgment would have helped. I’ve visited the island numerous times but this was my first time visiting the Beach House restaurant. One review I read before making the decision to visit had the same exact experience with not being acknowledged for a lengthy period. I’ve NEVER experienced service from any other establishment on Jekyll Island. I will never attempt to patronize this place in the future. Management need to revisit their brand’s operational procedures from top to bottom. This may have been a blessing in disguise because some of the reviews stated the food is underwhelming. Imaging receiving poor service and top it off with horrible food. I do not recommend visiting this establishment.
We had been driving all the way from Phoenix AZ to our new home in South Carolina. We wanted to see some beaches in Georgia because we have never been here. Unfortunately our first interaction ever with anyone from GA were the employees at this restaurant who treated us like crap when we walked in the door. It’s 3:30 on a Monday. We arrived with smiles and couldn’t wait for a drink. The hostess, server, and a blonde boy also working there gave no smiles, no welcome, made us feel so awkward we left. We won’t be coming back here for the remainder of our stay unfortunately and hope the other people in this state are a little nicer! No, I did not get the restaurant name mistaken. It is possible the boy may have worked at a hotel next door; he had a walkie-talkie. Either way, the hostess and server still made us feel unwelcome in an almost empty restaurant and we couldn’t wait to get out of there. It is too bad because it looked like a fun place too.
I am sitting back in my hotel with soap taste still in my mouth. I just got back from their Valentine’s Day dinner, don’t go. It’s 130.00 143.00 with tax for two people. You get a small uninteresting very basic salad, an appetizer of 4 pieces of salami, 3 olives, 2 orca, two deviled eggs, main courses there were 3 to choose from I got the ribeye 12 oz and my husband got the seafood pasta. The seafood pasta had mostly pasta and I have never seen soupy Alfredo before. My husband within 15 minutes of eating it had issues… Now for the steak. Four ounces was fat and the steak had a soapy flavor. I am pregnant and need the steak to be medium well. When I first got the steak it was rare, it came back and was medium rare, sent it back again and it came back medium. I brought it back for my dog. Which left me with a baked potato with two butters and a sour cream and two long soaked in garlic broccoli. We chose cheesecake for our dessert and we got two small slices. Melting pot would have been cheaper. This is the worst meal I have ever paid for. Complete rip off! The only silver lining is that the server was amazing! So I’m still very very hungry and my husband and I are out 150 something with tip. Now to find a real dinner… My husband doesn’t ever write reviews, however he decided to make an exception for this space. He doesn’t have a Google account so I am going to copy and paste what he wrote. Do not go here! This place is criminal. The worst restaurant experience I ever had getting ripped off. I paid $153 for my wife and I on Valentines, for small portions, very poorly made food, and we even had to get them to cook my wife's steak 3 times, and they still didn't get it right! Their operation is 100% about taking advantage of you and that's it. The owner should be horribly ashamed of himself and he should turn himself into the police for scamming people out of their hard earned money.
Even though the restaurant was nearly empty, we waited nearly 40 min for our food. Our waitress barely attended our table. I got half a cup of hot water for my tea. I specifically asked if the tortillas on the fish tacos were corn because I couldn't eat flour. The waitress said yes, they were corn. Nope, they were flour. The menu did not specify batter fried fish in the taco, but there was so much breading, I couldn't find the fish to dig it out. When I complained, there was no offer to make things right and no apology. Worst restaurant on the Isles.
We ate here Christmas Day in the evening. The food here is some of the worst our family has encountered. I had the grouper which for $38 was a small piece of overcooked fish (I.e. rubber) with some fries and of which there weren’t many. My kids grilled cheese was so small we had to go to the convenience store afterwards and buy a bar so they would feel full. Oh, let me also mention that it took a full hour to receive this meal. To leave and see all these people waiting on line to sit down on Christmas, knowing what they were going to encounter, I wanted to head them off at the pass but didn’t have the guts. Spare yourself the money and hassle, go to the Wharf where the food, ambiance and service are all top notch.
