There probably aren't a lot of casual sit-down, service-style restaurants in June Lake, but this one is definitely good. It's in a remote place, so service will understandably be slow in the slow months (winter and spring). Still, food has always been great when I've gone for both breakfast and dinner. Wait staff have been great too. Location has some incredible views.

Found this restaurant on our way through the area and it was great that we did. Food was lovely, price was very reasonable. Definitely recommend if you’re passing through.

The previous reviews were a little harsh in my opinion. Had a delicious dinner with my business partner, we both had the salmon and it was prepared perfectly. With some nice grilled vegetables. For appetizer I had the Texas style grilled cheese and Tomato soup, definitely recommend this one. You can’t beat the view and excellent customer service our waiter was very nice and friendly.

Had a fantastic meal here with my family. Had the howlin coyote pasta, it was so delicious. My brother got the ribeye which was massive with delicious glaze on top. And my parents love the blackened Salmon with teriyaki glaze veggies. Our server was very hospitable and the space was gorgeous. Highly recommend this restaurant for a great meal in a beautiful scenic backdrop.

The bar offers great seasonal drinks including hot spiced apple cider, spiked hot cocoa, and a phenomenal hot toddy. Welcoming and fast service in the bar. Had the Ribeye for dinner and it was cooked to perfection. Definitely worth a try!

It's a beautiful resort designed like a mining settlement. We were surrounded by tall pine trees and giant mountains on all sides. There's also a beautiful creek running along the perimeter of the resort and it was nice to listen to the water constantly flowing while walking through the resort. In the early morning we could hear a duck or two quacking from the fishing lake on site. Our room had a beautiful view on all sides, plus a balcony where we could sit back in the evening and appreciate the view of the night sky. The restaurant on site was a bit pricey, but the quality of our dinner was excellent. The spa and pool was very relaxing. The gym was pretty complete and surprisingly empty. There is also a staff member present if you want to purchase any items for the spa or pool, or if you want a snack or smoothie. We were only a minute-drive away from a small grocery store that also had maps and visitor information for nearby attractions. The resort lobby also had some good tourist pamphlets. The WiFi was the only issue because our cabin was probably located a good distance away from their server, so at times it would disconnect. There are hiking trails nearby and other fishing lakes all just minutes away. Perhaps because our stay was at the end of August, the community was really nice and quiet with hardly any other vehicles on the road. Just be careful not to speed - I almost hit 2 deers crossing the road!

Lovely setting at the base of 2 waterfalls, the large windows provide a great view of the surrounding mountains and forest. We shared a delicious ceaser salad, rib eye steak, and ricotta cheesecake. Our server, Sergio, was attentive and made sure we were happy with everything.

Love this Restaurant. Doesn't hurt that it's in an awesome resort! All the usual amenities plus a trout pond! You can get fly fishing lessons here I believe.

Good food in a very nice atmosphere. Nice, personable staff. Really pleasant experience all around eating here. Came down from Lee Vining after getting really tired of the limited food selection there & the bad service in late October. This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. I'll definitely be back.

This place is great! Brianna was our server and she was awesome! So nice and accommodating! Food came out fast and was delicious! The ribs fell off the bone, the pasta was perfect, the garlic bread was the best I’ve ever had and the view of the river outside was beautiful. We will definitely be visiting again next time we’re in town.

Beautiful location. Good food but menu rather light. Probably because it was the end of peak season.

The burger was over cooked, but nice presentation and the service was very good. Everyone enjoyed the atmosphere. The beer selection was good, however they were out of a couple choices, server made up for the out of stock items!

Amazing food from the tip tip chili to the steak. Even the kids penne pasta with butter and parmesan cheese was great. Outside dining with the stream running nearby and deer with the mountain backdrop.

We were recommended this restaurant from a local merchant. We weren’t expecting much because we had some bad experience with restaurants in this area. They were short staffed this night but excelled in personal service and promptness. The food is top Chef quality and the service is outstanding. We couldn’t believe how good it was. The wine list is short but great. We only wished we could have had time to explore the beautiful grounds. 5 star for sure.

The food was great as was the service. The interior is cozy cabin feel but with vaulted plank ceilings, log beams and tall windows. Beautiful views of the mountains and forest. We got the salmon on a mixed green salad plus apple tart. House Chardonnay complemented the meal perfectly.

This is the best dining in all of June Lake. The food, service, and atmosphere is ideal for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. We’ve tried almost everything on the menu except the pasta dishes and all were excellent. Salmon, ribeye, ribs, curry, fish tacos, and burgers. My favorite was the ribeye and big enough to share.

We LOVE the Eagle's Landing restaurant. It's a hidden gem and our new favourite restaurant. The rustic dining room and saloon are beautiful (plus incredible mountain views!), the food is delicious and very reasonably priced, and the service is great. Our server's name was Sage and she was so friendly and helpful it really made our evening. If this wasn't so hidden away I expect it would be packed full every night! We can't wait to come back! 10/10 would recommend.

A quality food and service in a beautiful life style restaurant. And not expensive! Chipotle chicken sandwich to die for, Ralphy's burrito a beautiful thing to behold. If you're near The June Lake loop, it's totally worth the detour just for lunch. I'll look into staying here at the hotel next time. A+ experience... lakes, Sierra viws, and a great lunch. We stopped by just for dinner and accidentally discovered this place — and we’re so glad we did. We’re definitely planning to come back. Fabulous, through and through. The food was amazing. I had the fish tacos, my spouse had a burger. Both were flavorful and juicy. They also had the best ice tea I've had in a while. The servers were friendly and timely. The view is outstanding. I'm already planning my return to the June Lake area just to come back to the Eagle's Landing Restaurant.

Nice restaurant, good menu and drink selection. Nice views and charming. There was a wedding reception outside when we went so service was slow. We didn't mind as we were not in a rush. Other than that, it was an enjoyable dinner.

The Postpile Fries from the saloon menu were awesome! The Retro Wedge salad was good. I got it with chicken. The fish tacos were typical tacos, except bland. The only way they were good was when they were absolutely coated in lime juice. The rice that came with the tacos was undercooked and crunchy. The atmosphere was amazing, though.

Spectacular views from this place, but wish the food was as good. Overall the food was fine but nothing to take home about. Service was okay as there were not many crowds at the time of the year. There were some problems with the billing which took some time to get fixed.

After waiting for a short but seeming long time at the host desk with no one in front of us. We were finally greeted by the bar tender/host/waiter. After we were seated I looked at reviews and thought “maybe we chose the wrong place”. Things started a bit slow but after we placed our order everything seemed to pick up pace slightly. Overall the waiter was very friendly, yet quiet. Our food was good and it hit the spot after 15 hours since our last meal. The place was incredible and very clean. You couldn’t ask for a nicer atmosphere.

Food is decent, not food I would crave a second time. Service was great. There is a small creek in front of restaurant which is nice. Fish tacos were good but the beans tasted like chili beans from can.. Rice was bland.

We stayed at a resort close by so ended up eating at Eagle's Landing 3 times. Twice for dinner, once for breakfast. The restaurant is beautiful with ornate wood carvings and huge fireplace. The waiters at dinner were very attentive. The menu is odd. By the look of the restaurant I expected an elaborate menu. Instead it was limited, offering items like fish tacos, ribs, salmon and a couple of pasta choices. The ribs were good. Salmon was overcooked. The 2nd time, I chose a pasta dish with chicken which was good. Breakfast was very ordinary, home fries were cold. Waitress was almost nonexistent as far as service, though I could hear her conversing with her coworker.

Came here for Thanksgiving dinner, the menu looked great, but the food unfortunately was not good (cold ribs, cold mash potatoes, etc.) and they charged $65 per person without drinks. The dinning room is really nice so maybe we just got unlucky. On any case, I wouldn't recommend it.

Very friendly waiting staff and beautiful architected restaurant. The food could have been much better though. The fish tacos were good but the sides were overpowered by cumin powder which did not give it a good taste. The Japanese curry was simply okay. Thick curry and the rice was a little dry. Overall if you eat meat the food may be better here but the vegetarian and pescatarian options may not be the best.

Double Eagle resort is a beautiful place. It has a swimming pool, jacuzzi, workout center, and massage room. The reason I gave it two stars was for the Tri Tip steak my husband and I ordered, it was not tender or flavorful. The other food on the menu was fine. Like a lot of restaurants, they lack some servers, but that’s not the restaurants fault.

Really bad food. Steak was over cooked. Pasta tasted like canned sauce. Veggies were frozen bag special. Mashed potatoes had way too much garlic. Server seemed like he didn’t want to be there. I has a nice view and atmosphere but that’s it.

Maybe it’s cause it’s the shoulder season but don’t waste your time. We waited 10 min for someone to come to the front and I asked if they were open (1pm on a Sunday and no one was in there) and the host/server ignored my question and just walked us to a table. Server could care less that we were there and was rude after waiting another 10 minutes sitting at the table with no menus or drink order we left. So many other great options in June / Mammoth area The restaurant is very nice looking but the staff doesn’t want to be there…not sure on the food but can’t keep a restaurant open up here with service like that.

Family and I came up recently and ate here as we were staying at the resort for the weekend. Overall the food was good but the service seemed less than standard. The waitress seemed to be annoyed every time we asked for something (and we didn't ask for much either). Came back a week later with coworkers and the service was horrible. The first night, we managed with a larger party. The second night, only four of us came to eat. We stood at the front counter for nearly 10 minutes waiting to be seated and were ignored. Not once was our presence acknowledged nor were we offered a seat. Ultimately we had to walk out and go somewhere else. I have eaten here many times in the past and suffice to say, the food is good, but I can't explain why the service was so poor this time. I have never been treated that way there. The employees acted as if we were an annoyance to their evening by coming in and patronizing the establishment. I can understand if it was a busy night but there were hardly anyone in the restaurant and the poor service wasn't a one night thing, this was three separate occasions within a weeks time. Unfortunately I will never be coming back to eat at this place. I would rather drive 30 minutes to Mammoth to eat if needed.

S

Went with a party of 12, we called a few hours in advance as a courtesy. When we arrived there were 2 other tables occupied. Two different people waited on us. A woman took our order and later a man delivered the food. We asked both politely to split checks because our work required this for per diem receipts. We were told they would only split it in 2 per policy. It really changed the tone of the evening. We weren't offered water or drink refills, and we didn't see them again at our table until the bill was given. By that time we were the only ones there. They still wouldn't consider helping us get our individual checks. In all honesty it felt like we were hassling them and they were annoyed to wait on us. We came here 3 years ago and stayed in the area for a week. We went to this restaurant 3 nights in a row because we loved the place. This year we stayed in the area for a week as well. Our intention was to come back every night because we loved the food and it was close by. After this experience we went to Mammoth, 30 minutes away, for the rest of the week. And those restaurants were all happy to accommodate us. What a shame. We probably aren't coming back in future years.

After the experience my family had at Eagles Landing, I doubt if they will be able to stay open for much longer. It was clear that this restaurant has serious problems that are not possible to easily fix. During the meal, I thought that this was our server’s first night of work, I later learned that he had been working as a server at the restaurant for quite a few months. He truly lacked any sort of understanding of what his duties were as a server since he never picked up our menus, had to be asked repeatedly to refill drinks, brought out dinner plates missing major components, did not provide butter for rolls, etc. A large portion of the food was inedible. My soup was lukewarm at best and I had to send my dinner back twice since it was brought out cold (the meat felt like it had come straight from a refrigerator). The meat was so salty that I couldn’t eat it. My wife and daughter only ate the potatoes off their plates and left the rest of the dinner. Our server didn’t seem to understand that it was not acceptable to be serving such poor quality food. When I went up front to speak to a manager I was instead directed to speak to the bartender since there wasn’t a manager that night. The bartender just shrugged his shoulders when I told him that our meals were inedible. He finally said “What do you want me to do about it?” I told him, “Make things right.” He never would come to our table to see that we couldn’t eat the food that was served and wouldn’t take the inedible food off our check. In the end, we received a 15% discount on overpriced food that we couldn’t eat. We went home hungry and ended up eating peanut butter on bread for dinner. There are much better choices in June Lake. Eagles Landing was the most disappointing restaurant experience in my entire life.
