All the staff here is amazing and super kind. They have been busy like packed both times we've visited and they still made sure we had a great experience
I wanted a lighter lunch so I ordered the halfbird bowl. There were a lot of options and the food was tasty. I recommend the chips and queso. The staff here are nice, friendly and helpful people.
Maya was an absolute dream she was so nice and very convincing when it came to what I should get and she had amazing service and was very clean about how she approached everthing about taking my order she was so polite and we had a great conversation she asked me about my day and was a dream
Absolutely amazing service! We were helped by Maya and ren. They answered questions like pros and helped make some amazing burritos for the fam. This is why we go in person v. Ordering online!
I love the crew at this Freebirds . Food is always fantastic and they get me in and out quickly . Bathrooms are clean , dining room smells nice end tables are clean . Thank you freebirds !
Every time I step into the location I am always greeted. The staff is super friendly! The food is always top tier when I visit. They even let me sample the ground beef! For all your burrito needs come to FREEBIRDS!

I can't say enough about the quality and taste of the food. I've eaten here for years and I can promise it's better and more affordable than it's competitors. What I believe truly sets them apart for me is their service. In a world where everything cost more eating out has become a luxury how you treat me shows me how you value the money that I work extremely hard for to give you. Though I have only eaten at Freebirds in Austin and the Katy location on Mason rd, their service and customer resolution shows me they truly care about my patronage.
Hunter made our experience great!!! The delivery website didn’t include my daughter’s kids upon ordering. Upon calling the store, Hunter made it work and augmented our order to resolve the issue. Kudos to him!!!
Karen and the crew were outstanding and so incredibility accommodating for our orders. They made our experience above and beyond, and brightened our whole day. The teamwork between them and the sincerity towards us exemplified what the service industry is all about: not just performing a service, but rather being of service to one and other with love, community and the heart that makes the world a better place. ♡
At 7:15 place was so dark inside I almost thought they were closed, no open sign but no closed either so I got the door. FREEBIRDS 6 years ago was twice a week lunch spot when I lived in Texas, now I only get when visiting. But I must say it seems to have gone down hill.. steak was dry and almost flaked like roast over cooked and no cayenne tortillas and no salsa pumps by the drinks. Not a location issue more of a franchise thing.. just saying
If there were a Hall of Fame for burrito-artists, Travis wouldn’t just have his name on the wall — he’d have his own wing. From the moment he approached the line, the atmosphere in Freebirds shifted. The lights seemed brighter. The foil glistened with more determination. The rice? Fluffier. The vibe? Immaculate. Travis didn’t just make a burrito… he crafted a culinary masterpiece with the precision of a surgeon and the enthusiasm of a golden retriever seeing its owner come home. Every scoop he placed into that tortilla felt like a personal blessing. The man seasons with confidence. He folds with destiny. He wraps with purpose. When he handed me my burrito, I swear a faint choir sang. I took one bite and immediately understood the meaning of joy, hope, and maybe even world peace. If every human on earth had a Travis-made burrito, there would be no wars. No sadness. Only salsa. If you go to Freebirds and don’t let Travis serve you, you are cheating yourself out of an encounter with greatness. The man is a burrito Michelangelo, and the line is his Sistine Chapel. Travis, thank you for your service. Humanity owes you.
My first time at Freebirds was amazing! Shout out to Ren, Hector & Hunter for being super attentive and detailed when explaining the menu! Definitely will be returning <3
Look no further if you are looking for awesome people to be around, great food, great portions, and a great PRICE! Heather runs this shop like a well oiled machine, and her employees really seem to respect her, which goes a long way. My burrito was GARGANTUAN, and so full of flavor!! 12/10 will be back.
Employees are great and I've always loved the food here. The only thing that bothers me is that sometimes the ingredients aren't mixed up enough in the burritos. I hate getting all the guacamole on one end then all the beans on the other. If they could work on mixing a bit more, this place would be perfect.
Food is ok. Staff is sweet. But everything in this place is so dirty and gross. Chairs were sticky. In fact almost everything was sticky. It needs a very deep clean. I'm not even a clean freak. It's just not looked after well. Makes me wonder how clean the food is.
I spent $21 for a bowl it is outrageous! The tea was old. I love their food but prices are ridiculous. Will no longer be going to freebirds.
Honestly think it depends on the location. The first free bird I had in downtown houston was AMAZING 10/10 could taste everything. Here they lacked seasoning and the rice was a bit over cooked. Probably should train the employees to taste what they make so it taste how it’s supposed to. I can’t buy from a place being unsure of what I’m going to get.
I keep giving this location a new chance every 6 months or so but it never seems to improve. Their rice is always overcooked and dry and you get hard bits in it. This time it was really bad as giant globs of it as you can see in my picture. The line worker didn't hesitate to dish that bad looking stuff into my bowl either where he should have took it out and thrown it in the trash. I should have told him to do that too but same time you try not to make a commotion with your kids present. The meal was not enjoyable for the wife or I as we both had this nasty burned rice in our bowls.
Visited during lunch time. Place was pretty much empty. Ordered a bowl, asked to try both of their rices since it's my first time trying this place. Rice was undercooked and dry. Portions of the meat are really small. A few options of vegetables, I ordered corn and Pico de gallo. At the end my bowl was half empty. The only good thing is the variety of sauces they offer. Other than that it's not worth the price. I will stick with Chipotle. I don't recommend it.
I recently visited Freebirds and was really disappointed with my experience. The staff member who served me my nachos mentioned that the restaurant has been bought out by a new company, which apparently has resulted in some frustrating new policies. I was only allowed two scoops for each item, and even though I didn't ask for much, I was unable to get even a little extra pico de gallo. To make matters worse, the staff member seemed rushed despite the store being empty, which made the experience feel even more unsatisfactory. I used to enjoy Freebirds, but this visit left me feeling disappointed. Hopefully, they can find a way to bring back the quality and service that made them great!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE EATS HERE I WAS SERVED RAW CHICKEN!!! I was here the day before yesterday 10/28 around 8:30 pm ordered the chicken bowl. Before I left decided to leave them a good review because the cooks were friendly. I started eating my bowl around 10:00 pm after their closing time, as I'm eating the bowl I noticed a weird texture with the chicken and I started picking through it to find out I WAS SERVED RAW CHICKEN 🤢 I ended up throwing up being disgusted with the situation. I decided to save the plate went to the place the next day after I got off around 6:30 pm.Spoke with a manager showed him the plate, the good review I left, and my bank statement since the cashier did not provide a receipt. The supposed manager on duty confirmed the meat was indeed raw and asked if I wanted the food remade. I equested a refund and he attempted to give me refund made a few calls to the upper management ( said he was calling for help on how , do the refund) I waited and waited he then came over to give me the runaround that he is unable to give me the refund because it's the next day after getting the food and now he would have to go through corporate and that his manager would call me on Thursday took my name and number down on a sticky note. I have not heard from anyone. This is horrible customer service and a safety hazard. Luckily I didn't get sick!
I had a poor experience at this location. I actually frequent freebirds and my food is always hot , fresh and the staff is usually very nice . Today , I went in and ordered two free bird bowls and there were no other patrons so I asked was the food hot & could she stir it because it didn’t have steam. She insured me that the food was hot and proceeded to prepare my bowls. At the register she told me $27 . I said , I’m sorry, what’s $27 ? She said the two bowls then went in and did something then said $22. It took her a few tries but she got me rung up but everyone in line looked upset about the wait. It was about 10 minutes I had to wait at the register and the girl apologized so I went to my car and found that my food was hardly warm . I brought it back and asked for a microwave and the girl with dark hair said “I don’t have one . I’ll just refund you and that’ll take care of that .” I said well I wanted freebirds not a refund. The male that was at the table yelled out the temperature needs to be 150 . She ran and grabbed the thermometer and said 160• with aggression. I googled and it said 165• was safe to eat . The man started full blown arguing with me and even getting some random customer involved. They were telling me that I needed to eat whatever they gave me . I said I’m temperature picky and that’s why I asked upfront. The man proceeded to tell me I was causing trouble. The women were actually professional . The male however, could use training in customer relations. I didn’t pay for attitude with a side of food I paid for food . How is he comfortable arguing with me like I’m in his house? I’m sorry he needs to go . As a matter of fact pull the cameras to see for yourself
Too quite when its slow and the service was crazy slow and there were only 4 people in the room one was the person behind the counter 2 were eating and me took me like 10-15 to get my food. Lucky they have good food cause they lost me with the slow service. Speed did not seem to matter to the person behind the counter either so… then right before i paid a random person came from the back on some unprofessional stuff like why did you not come out and just service a customer. Worried about a tiktok sound over customer service is crazy but if thats what the store is on. Oh well…
What happened to this company? Ordered a salad with steak (extra meat). The steak is grey and looks like they chewed it up first before putting it back in the bowl. Extremely mushy and honestly looks like it was cooked in a microwave. Utter sadness in a bowl. $15 later and I don't even want to eat this. I took off the "grilled" peppers and onions as they look like they came out a frozen mix and have almost no color. Taco Cabana has better steak...this is sad.
