I have to admit I have not eaten at Luby's in over 20 years! My family and I were wanting more of a homestyle meal on Easter Sunday but I did not want my wife and I working in the kitchen all day! We selected traditional sliced ham and vegetable/sides and a desert. Everything tasted perfect! Definitely tasted like home cooking as the quality of the food did not seem like institutional fast food. (Although I'm sure some of it (or all of it!😁) probably is!) The restaurant was very clean and servers continually made sure our tea and water never ran dry! Overall it was a good experience! With all the newer restaurants to compete against, Luby's proved why they are still around! Homestyle cooking at a reasonable price.

Always get to go orders, usually once a week. Always the full piece fried fish platter. I love their fried fish and tarter sauce. Great Mac and cheese. Good chocolate ice box pie. Usually good fried okra and mashed potatoes. Other good desserts. They can make good salads for you. And if chicken parmesian or sometimes special dishes are available they can be good.

This is a great place for family and friends to have a great meal. What a wonderful selection of foods to pick from. Real home cooking and save room for dessert and if you didn't it's okay just wrap it up to go. Everyone was ready to great me with a smile and eye contact making sure my order was complete and I had everything I needed to make my order complete. I observed servers help people by carrying trays to tables. Children were excited to set up and dig into their desired treat. What a fun adventure and great memories were being made. Everything you get at Lubys is always fresh. Today’s special was the chicken fried steak with potatoes and it was a very good size portion. This location is staffed with good customer service people. They know how to help you with whatever you need and are always ready to serve. One of my favorite sides here is the spinach. It has really good flavor with no salt needed. If you haven’t tried the jalapeño cornbread, I’d recommend it if you like jalapeños. This is not your fast food type of place. This is good food at a very good price. A win-win for eating good food and staying on a budget.

Lubys is Lubys. Consistent and always friendly service. Suggestion….set up a long table towards the back for people to be able to sit with someone and possibly make friends. A lot of people come and eat by themselves but may want the company. Place a sign on table…..come sit and meet someone if you don’t want to eat by yourself.

The food is exceptional. Desirability and presentation of the food items are delectably arranged. The dishes are freshly prepared and cooked to perfection.

Visited on Thanksgiving Day and the manager Sanchez and Genova and Amanda were timely gracious and wonderful hosts. Will return again soon.

Wow! I found this location was still open on my way to another restaurant so I called my daughter and changed our plans! Same great food and service as always. The cheese and bacon steak is my favorite 😋😋😋.

I always go through drive through and I recognize her voice, when I know it’s her, I know my food will great. She is always smiling, and her customer service is top notch! Don’t pass up Luby’s! Eating here brought back many good memories and I’m happy the food was as delicious as I remembered. The liver and onions is my favorite classic. I do sprinkle some salt and it’s perfect. The Mac and cheese is exactly how I remembered it from when I was a kid. The blacked tilapia with shrimp was also nice. I was also happy my kid enjoyed her meal which was free!! (Free kids meals Wednesdays and Saturdays is generous). They quickly got busy after opening however we were quickly through and to our table. I like the setup at Luby’s because you can pick whatever catches your eye and the food is already prepared! We actually had picked a few other things and had a feast for $40 + tip. Not bad at all given all we ate.

Decided we would love a home cooked meal without having to cook. Stopped by our favorite Lubys for our dinner. The line was not long, the choices all looked amazing. Chose chicken fried steak luann platter with broccoli rice casserole and my favorite green beans. The staff were all super friendly and the portions were very large. In fact I was able to split my luann platter into two meals. Food was amazing and our server was pleasant and attentive. Please make sure to tips these folks when dining in. Will back soon!

This was my second time at a Luby’s and it was somehow better than the last. The food was delicious and the staff were super friendly. Manager Genova was super helpful and nice, creating conversation with my table and from what I saw others! The waitress named Hilda was super helpful in getting refills and all the staff working the food line helped me pick out what to eat when I asked for help. Highly recommend 🙏

I used to go to Luby's with my parents almost once a month when I was younger. In the past few years I've gone maybe once a year and in the last 5 years or so maybe 3 times. I went today and took my kids for the first time and my parents. The good thing about Luby's is that it does not change much - the comfort foods you enjoyed over the years are still there. Good are still good. Most dishes are lightly seasoned which is not a bad thing. You can add salt to taste. The prices are pretty high but all restaurants are more expensive now these days. I took off one star because our server disappeared often and was nowhere when we needed things like refill and to go containers. We observed the other servers on nearby tables and they were always around. Still good experience though.

Haven't been to a Luby's since most locations closed down. This location is one of the few survivors. Met a group here for a Sunday lunch. The food was very good and the combo meals were priced well. The food was much better than I remembered with nice portions. The location was not crowded so there were no problems sitting our group. They have limited table service with the servers refilling drinks, bringing table sauces and cleaning the tables. This trip the servers were much more interested in standing in a circle and talking than helping the customers. However, they were responsive when we got their attention. As for the facility, it was clean and maintained but has the same look as my parents Luby's. However, this had no effect to the quality of the meal. Overall, the experience was positive and I would be willing to visit again sometime soon.

It has been at least a decade since I last visit Luby's. I guess the sign and look wasn't appealing enough. But it was a nice surprise to go back there, ky wife and I are looking for some catering service and went to try the food. There were plenty of options to eat, the food felt fresh even though it was served in a buffet style, my guess because of the amount of people eating, constant flow of customers. Overall, it is a nice place to take the family to lunch/dinner without braking the bank, we did like the food, the steak is ground steak, and the chicken fettuccine was a success with my wife and daughters.

Thankful Sr. Price &8.49 was decent but hardly entree was 1 in Square all around of fish. How about 2in? Veggies are always good. Fish goes bad in 3 days. Used to be half of of served size. If no one buys it.. it goes to trash vs. reheat to serve. One man considered himself the amount to serve fish on my plate. Do they take the food not served home? Just curious. I guess less entree. Seniors but more veggies. Not many customers. Give Seniors a decent plate serving.

Enjoyed the Kids eat free for Saturday on today! I’m not used to the set up not being from Texas originally. But the service was fairly quick and they opened another register to be more efficient. I was a little confused therefore on pricing and what came with my meal. Food tasted hot and fresh. They give a LOT of food for the price and we have leftovers. If you need to feed a lot of people it’s definitely enough to share. My bill with kids eat free, adult meal and drink was about $15. Ambience was not fancy but it was clean and easy to move through with a tray and a child.

I eat at this location 2-3 times per month and like most of the dishes. One day, I decided to try a rib eye steak. It was probably THE worst steak I’ve ever eaten. The server told me it was cooked medium, when I ordered it. However, once I got home with my order, it was well done. Also, not enough seasoning. I don’t recommend the steak here. It was a waste of $22!

Hope the food improves more. Servers should be more alerts, they are always hanging in a group and not asking customers if we need anything, not even a refill. Please replace the napkins, they just smell.

I'll say upfront that I REALLY dislike this place, but my church friends all want to meet there one night a week, so I go. The 3-vegetable meal and LouAn meals are nicely priced, but watch out for the posted specials -- you might be charged a different price than posted! The tortilla soup is VERY good, but if you get a salad, don't let them pick one for you!! Select it yourself, or you will get the worst salad they have. This is the voice of experience. And don't tip at the register. Leave a tip at the table.

Be careful when ordering by delivery. Luby's seems to be too busy to care if the order is correct. 2nd time in row ordering and they forgot misc items, gravy, rolls and dressing for the salad. Nothing like eating dried chicken fried chicken with dry lettuce.

My husband ordered online and received the text order would be ready at 1:12 pm. It takes 12 minutes to get to the location from my home so I am thinking perfect, when I arrived the food was not ready, Iam thinking but said nothing, so??? I waited about 5 minutes after telling the poor guy trying to wait on drive through and pick ups that I was picking up an order online. He looked back but no to go orders were ready. He then looked at the receipt sticking out of the register, I told him the name and that was it. He took it to the back and came back. Said they were working on it. 15 minutes later he went to check on it, came back and told me 2 things on our order were out . I replaced the 2 items. I waited an additional 15 minutes. I spent 45 minutes on an online order that didn’t even have our order. This makes no sense to me, got home and one of the subs was mashed potatoes, they were powdered potatoes . 😶

Very disappointed 😞, I asked for the chicken fried steak.. it was more batter than steak. The fish batter was also tasteless. The salad was not fresh. They were in plastic containers and weren't crispy. The dessert was good. I'm a fan of Lubys, and I will not be returning to his location.

I placed my order online so that I could get back to my daughter in ICU at Methodist West. I didn’t think to look at everything before I left. I was so disappointed when I got back to the hospital and sat down to eat. I had ordered mashed potatoes w/natural gravy and when I opened up my container there was no gravy. Checked to make sure there wasn’t a container of gravy on the side by chance. Nothing! Having the gravy was the only reason I ordered the mashed potatoes. I called the store and spoke to the manager and his response was “I’m sorry ma’am! I’m sorry!” I don’t know what Luby’s policy is about forgetting to give someone something on their order, but not one time was there an offer to even try to make it right. I’ve managed a couple of restaurants in the past years and no matter what we always tried to make it right with the customer. Whether in that present moment or a short time in the days to come. Luby’s is not a restaurant I would return to because the quality of the food is mediocre reminds me of HOSPITAL food. Very little healthy options due to all of the fried food options and the baked chicken I ordered was tough and bland.

This past Saturday my order was distasteful the fried fish tasted old and the chicken spaghetti was over-cooked. I called and spoke to a manager that said her name was “Genova”. She instructed me to call back on Monday to get my order remade. Well, here it is Monday and the manager “Genova” claims that wasn’t her and she wasn’t at work. She was very rude and unprofessional during our conversation and hung the phone up in my face. I will never bring my family back to this location and I will be following up with corporate law enforcement with the comment you made during our phone call.

I had yet another bad experience at this restaurant. I ordered brown gravy on the rice and cranberry sauce for the dressing and got neither one. I came through the drive through so in order to fix the problem I would have to come back. After I told the manager I requested these items 3 times and it was on my ticket but not my plate her offered to fix it. When I didn't want to come back he did not get my name to fix it when I came back if I came back later. I have been a regular here for 4 years but will changing restaurants. I waited to write this review because my family loved this location hoped things would change but apparently not.

I spoke with a manager on a DoorDash order. It was a Hispanic male. I explained that every time I speak with a regular employee on additions for my order they never do it. I gave him the additions I requested and was confident that after speaking with an actual manager he will make sure (especially after it’s happened to me several times) that the additions would be there this time. I got my food and to my surprise he did not add anything I requested. Also my fish was stale and overcooked. My chicken friend chicken was very small it looked like a chicken patty. Other Livy locations have a very generous portion. I am very disappointed in this location and management. DoorDash charges twice and sometimes three times the amount vs. picking up from the store. Unfortunately I am not able to drive there. I hope the owner sees this and hires better management staff.

Found hair embedded in the chopped steak. Absolute NO NO. Before I found the hair , the part of the steak i ate was full of inedible cartilage that I had to spit out. Definitely not coming back . Will tell anyone that asks me about the hair and poor quality of food.

I usually love luby's. I have a seafood / shellfish allergy, so I take it upon myself to choose which dish from the buffet that I want. I take the initiative to ask questions about ingredients. I recently went and got an order to go, it was a stuffed pork chop dish that I inquired about the ingredients and was told that there was no seafood or shellfish within the dish at all. When I got home I discovered a small shrimp covered in sauce in the food. If I had eaten this dish, luby's would have been responsible for me going into anaphylactic shock and possibly dying. Luby's does not adhere to proper food services regulations. I could have lost my life because the server was either uneducated about the ingredients within the dishes that she's serving, or she was too lazy to go inquire if she was not certain. This could have resulted in serious illness, a potential lawsuit, and my unfortunate death. Do better before you get someone in a serious health crisis.

My husband and I are up in age so instead of cooking for just the 2 of us, I went to Luby’s for take out. I was very disappointed in the quality of the Thanksgiving meals that Luby’s served yesterday. I’m sure the turkey was the canned version due to the shape and cut of the meat, not to mention that it was tasteless. The sweet potatoes were not cooked completely, and the vegetable was boiled cabbage. The only other side dish offered was mashed potatoes.

Had a terrible experience here on Friday July 8. I found a roach in my spinach. I took my food to go so I did not see it until I got home. Yes they refunded me but this was very disgusting!!! No telling if I ate one n l before I noticed this one, yuck!

This is where my daughter chose to eat for her 9th Birthday. Initially my complaint was due to my husband and I having dirty silverware. Then it shifted to my under cooked liver. The fact that the manager didn’t want come over due to the dirty silverware issues in the first place pissed me off. Then when our server Victoria (who was awesome by the way) was finally heading back to our table with him, he seemed super annoyed. He was huffing and puffing, rolling his eyes and throwing his hands up as to say whatever. He’s demeanor was cold and nonchalant. It was very disheartening. I feel especially bad for the workers there. If this is what they have to deal with on a daily basis, this is extremely sad. Thank you Victoria for trying to salvage my daughter’s birthday. Mackenzie you may need to hand over the reigns if this isn’t the plan you have for you life. No one should be subject to your wrath and poor management skills on any given day.

Was my first time eating at Lubys and I'll NEVER do it again. From the moment I walked in I felt rushed to decide what i wanted. When I actually felt very overwhelmed by the menu layout and choices. Everything looked heavily breaded and hard to eat. I chose the shrimp and hushpuppies, with cabbage and mac and cheese. The shrimp was lie rubber. I had to pull the breading off because it without have broken a tooth! The cabbage was hard and cold. The mac and cheese was GREAT! The hushpuppies had no flavor at all. My best fish was cold as well. So for $32 I enjoyed a glass of tea (and not even a refill?? Seriously?!) and a small bowl of mac and cheese. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. MCDONALDS WOULD BE BETTER.

We bought the Easter Meal. What a rip off. We ended up getting double dressing because we had the other sides. What a rip off! The pans were so small and when we called the manager told my Mother as long as your guest don't dig in deep with the servings it will work. How dare you. The meal was 179.00 to feed 10 to 12 people it only feed 4 to 5...Never again don't bother buying any family holiday meals it's definitely not worth it! Was taken out to lunch at 1 of my favourite restaurants and unfortunately this location was just all bad. Got sick twice before even leaving the restaurant. My friend who came to lunch with me also was sick before even exiting the Louise. He had banana pudding which he described as the worst banana pudding he had ever tasted. Halfway through our meal, our waiter came and told us he was going on his lunch break and then proceeds to pick up his tip that had been on the table. It was VERY shocking that he was going to just leave his tables to take a break??His lunch break consisted of Sitting across the dining Room from us and counting his 2 very large wads of cash while eating his lunch. This was a true sight to be seen. It had been a long time since I have seen such poor customer service.I Wish I could rate this as negative stars-5 negitive stars. Will never go to this location ever again.!!

First time no one was there to explain to us how to order, felt rushed ordering, when being rung up the used a key for steak and shrimp abc I told cashier I have chicken Alfredo and I don’t want to be overcharged. She got mad because she wanted me to leave and she would mumble under her breath then the moment I repeated what she said all of a sudden her coworkers just scattered and the young manager was too scared to address the issue at hand he didn't even do his job and ask me how everything was going. She even did the petty I'll put the broom and dust pan against the table so they'll leave faster. She got so mad she had to disappear into the back so she wouldn't even have to look at me refilling my tables drinks. She was Harry Houdini for 30 mins before she decided nah screw my table I'm not going to clean she needs therapy. If I'm honest projecting her issues onto others.

Attention all veterans: please be advised that we are unable to get military discounts, even when proof such as a military ID is provided. Furthermore, when discussing this matter with a manager, Amanda, I experienced unsatisfactory customer service. I recently visited in December and received my military discount; therefore, I am unclear about the current issue. Unfortunately, this Luby’s establishment will no longer earn my business. What has happened to the standard of good customer service?

Over 30 years But the food I bought yesterday the 10 of January was so horrible when have you start putting sweet and sour sauce on Liver Horrible the meatloaf was my first selection horrible sent it back and got the liver so we just left Vegetable Soup was bland and watery so we want be coming back church group want be back

I called for my holiday order From the Lubys in Katy Texas on Mason Road, I was trying to redo my pickup time & Day, while I. Was pulling it up the Manager was whistling theme Jeopardy theme, which was SO RUDE!!! 2 months age we got a enchilada takeout from there it was SOOOOO SALTY, I called and spite to this same manager and he did NOT say sorry or can we replace it NOTHING, this “manager” I can’t believe the owner would let someone like this treat their customers so poorly, inm supposed to pick my food up Tuesday, but they didn’t seem interested in changing

Last week I visited the Luby’s on Mason Rd, and I was very disappointed by Genova’s behavior while she was working the line. In front of all the customers and employees, I saw her yelling at and humiliating another worker, something completely unacceptable and very unpleasant to witness. A restaurant that promotes a family-friendly image should never allow that kind of mistreatment toward its staff, since a hostile work environment directly affects both the employees’ well-being and the quality of customer service. Genova’s attitude was arrogant and disrespectful, and honestly, I do not wish to return to the Luby’s on Mason Rd as long as situations of workplace abuse or mistreatment continue to happen there.

I visited Luby’s over the weekend, and I have to say the customer service from the wait staff was absolutely amazing. Everyone was kind, attentive, and made sure my table had everything we needed. You could really tell they cared about making customers feel welcome and comfortable, which made the dining experience very enjoyable. However, the management on Sunday — specifically the lady in charge that day — was very disappointing. She was unprofessional and didn’t seem to treat her staff with respect. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere that didn’t match the great service the wait staff provided. Overall, the team on the floor does an incredible job, but the Sunday manager’s attitude and leadership definitely need improvement.

Ordered 2 meals TO GO, a Manager's Special chicken fried steak and a Manager's Special chicken fried chicken. Both orders came with pan fried potatoes. I asked the first server about the cream gravy and was told the next station would add the gravy. I ordered the sides, got rolls for each order , paid for the meals, and left. Got home, no cream gravy on either order. Ok, things happen, mistakes are made, so I called Luby's to let them know. I asked for a manager, who basically told me it was my fault I didn't get the gravy, because it is their policy to not automatically add the gravy! This is Katy, Texas. Everywhere I've ever been, cream gravy just comes with a chicken fried steak or chicken. There was no apology for not adding the gravy. If this is their policy, it is no surprise that Luby's has had to close many cafeterias. They just lost another regular customer.

I’m here now , I’m a GMA and raising 3 grandkids one with cancer , we found hairs in our food. And they ask me do ya want the same one , and the waitress never came back . We had to get our own silver ware , and refills. No consideration of what happened and they started speaking Spanish I told them don’t speak Spanish I understand it . The manager said you will still pay . And I did today’s date is 6/28/2025 .. on mason road in Katy tx .. photo of silverware we got
