Just had lunch for the first time here. Ladies were super friendly and the service was fast. The Mulberry Street Burger was fantastic. Perfect ratio of jalapeños and avocado. I will definitely be returning here to try the other burgers every time I am in Kaufman.

Oh my gosh, I can’t believe we waited so long to try this place! The ice cream was AMAZING and so were the burgers! We tried 9 different flavors and I can’t decide which one was the best, they were all super yummy! I read a review when they first opened that said service was slow but that was NOT our experience at all, I was shocked how quickly our food arrived and the kids had fun playing corn hole while it was being prepared.

Unexpectedly AMAZING!!! Just moved here temporarily from Dallas and needed a good Friday night dinner. Ordered the Mulberry St burger, cilantro lime fries and a cookies n’ cream shake. Holy cow!! It’s better than Whataburger! I think we just found our new favorite spot! The service was quick and the staff was very nice!! Pretty sure the owner checked in on us too! Southern hospitality at its finest! The food was *chef’s kiss*

Oh myyyy goodness! My daughter and I just ate here for the first time. She got the detour cheeseburger(she ate the whole thing this never happens LOL) and detour fries and a cup of brownie ice cream! I got the railroad crossing burger and the u turn fries(best fries I have ever had in my life)!! The service was great the food was amazing and hot! We will definitely be coming back with the rest of the family! Keep up the great work guys!

This is a nice spot to grab some good and quality cooked food. The burgers here are great, and the lime fries are delicious. I liked the wait staff as they are quick to bring out drinks and food. Overall good place to eat, will be back!

1 bite into my burger, and I can honestly say I was impressed. By far better than any fast food chain burger you can have. The Dr. Pepper was fresh, and fries are full of flavor. I must say I was impressed!

I've been living in Terrell for a minute and today was the first time we stopped by. We were just gonna grab drinks but we thought we'd grab some food. We just got the 3.00 Speed Bump, thinking we'd have a small burger and go. I was amazed. The flavor. Thin sliced onions, gorgeously seasoned, the sauce, everything. If I'm being honest in the world of fast food (Wendy's, What burger, even Freddie's) this was by far the best burger I have ever had. Give this place a try. Seriously!

Finished my food and wanted to try a shake but after several minutes with my hazards on no one came out. About 4 hours later I stopped in again on the way home to get that vanilla shake and I’ll just say it was the BEST shake I’ve ever had in my life!!!

Very good place. The burgers were good and the fries were pretty good as well. If your not a lime person be a little weary because it’s a little strong. The wife loved the root beer float and thought it was on point and I had the pineapple coconut ice cream that was excellent.

We stopped by on our way back to Dallas expecting a decent burger from a local business. We were impressed with the quality and flavor of our burgers not to mention their excellent, out of the ordinary fries (Cilantro-lime!) Service was fast and cheerful. I had the burger with BBQ sauce (can’t remember the name) and it was tasty without swimming in the sauce. We will visit again hoping to try another of their delicious creations.

We stopped by on our way back to Dallas expecting a decent burger from a local business. We were impressed with the quality and flavor of our burgers not to mention their excellent, out of the ordinary fries (Cilantro-lime!) Service was fast and cheerful. I had the burger with BBQ sauce (can’t remember the name) and it was tasty without swimming in the sauce. We will visit again hoping to try another of their delicious creations.

Tried it out for the 1st time last night to support our local businesses.. Needless to say it did not meet our expatiation waiting for 25 mins.. The burgers were good but definitely needed more flavor. The fries were different but decent as well. We might go again just to try their shakes.

As a rule of thumb I give every establishment three to four visits before writing a review. Each time I've come to Detour there has been an excessive wait from start to finish. At first I credited that to them just opening and having a brand new staff and process. I returned a few months later and I had the same issue with a long wait to have someone take my order to the actual wait for my food to be brought out to me. I have gone back several times and faced the same issue. I understand understaffing issues during this time, but this has been an issue since they opened. I really do enjoy the food and the milkshakes are one of my favorite around, which is why I keep returning. I just wish the wait and customer service from the servers were better otherwise this would be an easy 5 star for me.

No hair nets and the hygiene of some of the carhopps was ecky( dirty hands) and the other one acted like she didnt want to be there no smiles or eye contact. The hamburger was actually better than most fast food joints just need to put the lettuce onto with the other veggies but in the realm of home town burgers it was decent. The fries where fire! ( the fries made up for the non original hamburger) Havent tried the shakes yet but if I do I'll be sure to update

Food was decent. My main complaint and reason for the 3 stars is that I ordered about 30min in advance online and arrived at the exact time scheduled but the burgers and fries were definitely cooked right when I ordered and sat there until I picked it up. Not a big deal but the app also requires me to input my email address to receive the receipt when ordering as a guest but I never received anything.

Staff was very friendly and helped me as soon as I arrived, even then, I waited over 10 minutes for my food to come out and I had to remind them that I had ordered a drink. The taste of the burger was pretty good but the buns we very soggy. The fries tasted like that had been sitting for 20 minutes, and to make it worse, there was a lot of oily seasoning from the fries that I couldn’t even eat half of them. I wouldn’t heavily recommend to come here for a burger meal. And not everyone in the kitchen was wearing a face mask.

The food and the ice cream were very good. But it took a ridiculous amount of time to get our food. We ordered two burgers and one fry and waited 30 minutes to get it. Then we ordered 3 pints of ice cream to go and waited another 20 minutes to get that.

I was really excited to actually try this place for the first time and while the staff was attentive the burger patty was the EXTREMELY salty and dry. My 2 year old even spit hers out… Disappointed for our first time and can’t say we will be back unless it’s with a death wish from salt overdose.

Service was fast and friendly. Ice cream tastes delicious. Presentation left something to be desired. I was served a waffle cone with a hole in the bottom and broken on the side so it was dripping all over me. My daughters cup had ice cream all over the outside. It would have taken a second to wipe it off before walking it out to the car. Would come back, but avoid the cone, and ask for more napkins!

Plus the bottom of the bun was so wet with grease and , I guess, juice. it was useless trying to use it to hold onto my burger. It got trashed along with the shriveled piece of lettuce. Second burger was hastily thrown together, as well, but no soggy bottom. But was, also, very greasy burger. The float was not the best I have ever had. It was one small scoop of ice cream with lots root beer. Eh, we will skip this place from now on. Better burgers just down the street. It's really not that hard to make a good burger and a nice presentation with it. Just not worth coming back. Too many other good options around town.

HORRIBLE!!! Waited 25 minutes for food. I was loud and clear when I said NO CHEESE on one of the burgers, got home it had cheese. The burgers and fries were dripping in grease to where they just fell apart and very soggy. They used way too much seasoning, that's all we could taste. We threw away half of the food. I may have to schedule a triple bypass after eating this. The menu had very little items, maybe because they're new. However, the waitress was nice and the mango ice cream was good. I will drive to Bell's Better Burger in Balch Springs before I eat here again. They compared Detour to Keller's in Dallas, UHHHH WHAT???

Ordered 3 hamburgers and got two of them (the smaller 2 of the 3). One that wasn't supposed to have onions, but it had onions. The one that was supposed to have onions with cheese didn't. The one with cheese had short black hairs in it. They brought our third one out after 10 minutes, and it was another of the smaller burgers instead of the detour burger. The receipt was correct for the order.

Tried this place 3 times and I will not be back. Been a terrible 3rd experience. Terrible management, nasty no flavor burgers with soggy buns and soggy fries... The mudslide shake is amazing and thats about it. I wont be back. Having to waste gas to go back up there after speaking to the manager and then this new manager cant even give money back. Such a hassle. Save your money, save your gas. ..

This is not a modern drive in like they claim. Their only technology is a young lady running around with a wireless POS device. No means to catch a car hop's attention than honking your horn. Sonic typically runs a 5 person crew. When I was there, it took their three person crew 20 minutes to bring a sweet tea with so much sugar I will have diabetes by midnight. You can get the same experience from a Burger Box as you do this place for food quality. I was really hoping for a great small town experience. Nope. Maybe their ice cream is their saving grace. I was so put off by their lack of care to the customer that I will never know.
