Churches chicken didn't have people at the window . We waited over 5min then went to chicken Express. We needed food to bring to our sick friends. I've only been there once. But I'm glad I did I loved it... the chicken was so tender.

This place was Awesome. The manager is great with his employees. Everyone was courteous and very attentive. Wish more restaurants were like this one. Food was good also. We will definitely go back.

This is the only place anywhere near hear that has chicken livers that are not over cooked. They will cook they special for you for 3-4 minutes. Don't ask for this at lunch time because everyone knows how good their chicken is and it's just too busy. Glad we finally got a good chicken place. If you are on IH10 and can't stop in Kerrville the one in Comfort at 87 is just as good.

Much better management now, food is fresh and comes out quick now.

I swear by chicken Express. I ordered the hot wings and they cooked them fresh. The food is always good when i come, the sweet tea is the definition of texas and the customer service is amazing.

The legs are always thick, the breasts so juicy, can’t wait to bite into those thighs. Always hot and ready when I want it. I get a little attitude once in a while but it’s worth it.

They have the best gizzards and livers. My wife loves the fish, rol l s and especially the hush puppies. They have real corn in them.

The service was stellar I forgot the cashiers name but she’s the reason I come back to this particular Chicken Express. There are about 15 of these CE restaurants but I will only go back to this one. Chicken wings (BONES IN) are the best and the rolls are the best anywhere

I have to say, I have Not been here since the Virus started, due to no Mask wearing. But today I saw the cooks had on Mask and we have been Craving their chicken. So as always we spent $62... And really enjoyed the food. Chicken strips, corn fritters, okra, rolls, Cole saw. All was Excellent 😀. Just wish they all would wear Mask. 😷For this reason only, we won't go back to our once a month going for a chicken run. 😷

I have to say this so the proper person gets the credit. We drove through and ordered in through the drive thru. The cashier was the most courteous and friendly young lady. I would commend this place on their excellent customer service. The meal was delicious and their sweet tea amaizing. The prices are extremely fair not expensive at all. I completely recommended it.

Tried for the first time and really liked it. Had the spicy chicken fingers and they were delicious.

I used the drive through at lunch. The restaurant, as expected, was busy,but the staff were very friendly, efficient, and cheerful. The food was still warm after getting it home and sitting down to eat. The only down side was there were not enough mini poppers. I'm not sure what the regular order for mini poppers is, but is certainly not enough as they are Really good and have a little pepper "bite" to them

I have been to this location many times the last five years. It has always been hit or miss. There was actually a year in there that I quit going because the service and food was so bad. The last few months have been pretty consistent and the food and service has been good again. Today there was a little mix up on my fish order so I had to wait an extra 10 minutes. I had ordered 3 meals. It was no big deal. The staff apologized for the wait and gave me enough extra food for 2 more meals. They didn't have to do that but it was appreciated. I will keep going back as long as the service remains friendly, the dining room clean and the food is good.

Everything is amazing at the Kerrville Texas location. My only complaint is that I showed up at 12:25 and they were out of gizzards and wouldn't be making more. Other than that and oh not turning lights on at night they are amazing.

Except for 1 time getting Taco soup instead of the Chicken noodle I asked for they've been pretty good. My wife was sick though and sure could've used the chicken noodle

I guess about a month or so I rated Chicken Express in Comfort the rating was not good might of fact it was a little rough but true however Chicken Express in Kerrville is a good place to go eat the employees or nice apparently they changed the oil quite frequently which makes the food taste like it should I recommend Chicken Express in Kerrville Texas

Lunch today. Placed order. Ready quickly except for 🌽 nuggets. It would be a few. Sitting at table for a few and no nuggets and no gravy. Guy at counter checked on it and no one started nuggets. So he did. Got my gravy and got extra nuggets. Plenty of apologies. I'll be back again. Good food. Good service.

I like chicken! This place has awesome chicken, but I judge a chicken place by their coleslaw too, and this place delivers. The prices are a bit proud, so maybe coupons via email, text, etc. could increase the frequency of visits from miserly patrons such as me.

Chicken Express is always fresh and hot. Never has messed up my orders.. But their dirty inside.. Floors need to be swept. Tables always have dirty napkins on them and etc. Fountain were u get cokes r dirty.. But chicken and their food is always hot and fresh...

Tasty chicken livers are served here, but be prepared for about a six minute wait, because they cook them to order. I love these chicken livers. I also love all the sides and the delicious sweet tea served here. My only complaint is probably my lack of understanding in the order process. I read the menu to say that the livers come with gravy, however the last two times I've ordered the meal, I did not get gravy for the livers, only the mashed potatoes with gravy. Everything else was hot and delicious. Next time I will be sure to order extra gravy.

My current 4 star rating is based on our last trip here (March 2022). The food was good and hot and the order was correct (this time). The service was friendly but slow. Prior to our last trip - I would have given 2 stars. Previous trips were not great. Orders were wrong or missing things. I always check my orders now before I leave the parking lot. I ordered cookies and was given frozen cookies and told to let them thaw. Waited 30+ minutes in the drive-thru multiple times. I saw some new faces this last trip and am hopeful they can keep the good workers they currently have. This was the go to place for our family for a while and maybe it will go back to that. 🤞

It took 20 minutes to receive my ordered food from inside, and I was second in line. There was a long line for the drive through so I thought, it would be faster to go inside to order. I was wrong! What's sad, some employees were working very slow and standing around, they did not care. Another customer asked me how long I've been waiting. I told him I'm on my 3rd drink so I've been waiting about 20 minutes. My order was very simple. 8 pieces of chicken with one side order and one drink. That should have taken a minute to fill. I could see lots of cooked chicken. Management needs to do better training. On the positive side, the food was delicious as always!

The food was good, I got 3 piece bone in chicken dinner. The fried chicken was fried crispy and hot. The only thing is that the chicken breading was not seasoned much, which you just can't add later. Maybe some more garlic and onion, some herbs would be nice. I probably won't be back. There's better flavored chicken in the many chicken places here in town.

I really like their fried fish and chicken tenders. Their staff is always hit or miss. I went in and ordered the fish there one time at about 8 pm. I sat there 45 minutes with not one other customer in the place. I had to walk up and ask for my food. Then they gave me my order.

Its an alright place to eat, though quality went down heavily here for a while. As of recent it has been okay, though i've only really eaten the chicken and cant say anything about the other items.

I was not impressed. At 5:30 p.m., they had only one fryer in use, and so could cook only type of food at a time. On top of that, my spicy chicken tenders had definitely been under the heat lamp way too long, crusty and dry. The gentleman behind me tried to order fish, and they told him it would be a 1 hour wait. Service was friendly and respectful, but on the slow side.

The chicken is spectacular; crispy, juicy, flavorful. However, the sides (except for corn) leave much to be desired. The service is quick and staff is friendly. The price is affordable and location is perfect for nearby shopping. If they had Wi-Fi, it would have gotten another star.

Couldn't complete my order as requested, chicken breast tasted old and meat was rubbery . Ask for biscuits and got mostly rolls a few burnt all hard. All the chicken had an old grease taste

The reputation of having the most crispy chicken around truly lives up to the hype. I visited this establishment and was amazed by the texture and flavor of my meal. Coleslaw and mac cheese were also very good, but they needed to improve on those hushpuppies.

Love the food here. Wasn't too impressed with customer service. At one point cashier was cussing. Thats very unprofessional especially when you are the front cover of company you work for. He seemed overwhelmed and stressed

Went 20 minutes before close and it's really disappointing that you can't get anything off the menu like certain sides or chicken or even sweet tea because they had already shut everything down. I get off late from work sometimes and I want more options than just your basic 24/7 Whataburger. I work in the restaurant business and we always have everything until the moment the restaurant closes. Great food though!

I ordered number 16 with mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and french fries. I got chicken and the side bread. Nothing else. I waited nearly 30 minutes and paid almost $40 for an incomplete meal. The only saving grace was the guy at the window, he was nice.

Just left from there 8oclock Tuesday night October 20th. Ordered a number one spicy with mash potatoes and coleslaw with a side of fried pickles. And before I continue, my friend's and I have always loved going to the Sidney Baker location, since we have lived here. Food, sides, employees all top notch till about a month ago.. then all that I just mentioned has withered away. My fried pickles were cold and hard. My number one wasn't spicy and only had two tenders. There was no mashed potatoes, only two gravies. It seemed thrown together in a haste, and I cannot return it, because I got no reciept, no bag, no fork, or napkins. The haste and no receipt makes me think some employee is skimming the register. I give it a two, because one seems unfair, for all but the last three visits, everything has been spectacular. Possibly a bad batch of employees is ruining my favorite local chicken place, and that sucks. I'm ordering a pizza now.

Beyond slow service despite having what appeared to be a full rack of food in the prep area. Tables and floor left dirty and piled with crumbs, used paper products and trays. Broom & dust pan left next to pile of sweepings left directly in front of a door. Staff was friendly enough but far from making up for overall experience

I’ve been going to this Chicken Express location since I moved from West Texas over 8 years ago. I’ve never complain but have had reasons to. The tenders were inedible, so hard and all crust. No cream corn so I regrettably took the corn on the cob thinking that I could cut it off the cob. It was so hard and could not eat it. Been cooked a long time. Roll not fresh and mashed potatoes so salty, had to trash them along with rest of the meal! I’m 78 years old and live on social security and do not eat out often. I CANNOT afford to throw money away. As I said earlier, I’ve never complained nor taken food back. This event brought me to complain. Looks like I’ll have to drive to another town if I get hungry for Chicken Express. We went through the drive thru and ordered a 4 piece chicken tenders, okra and sweet tea with no ice. We got a sweet tea, but it was full of ice. Our meal was correct but not close to being hot. By the time we opened it, we were too far away to go back. Ended up not eating most of it.

My friend and I waited in the lobby for almost thirty minutes for ONE meal. We thought the lobby would be faster than the drive thru, but no. There were only four cars in the parking lot, and maybe ten cars in the drive thru.

They have a sign visable from the take out window that says "you will be fired if you touch the phone volume" not only is that a dumb reason to fire someone it's horribly unclassy to display the employee note where customers can see it. I will not be back until they hire new management with some cooth.

Horrible service. Stared at my food for a solid 15 minutes watching it get cold before I said screw it and got a refund. Used to enjoy this food but after today and the filth I saw in the corners, on the booths and the lack of gloves when preparing the food, I will never eat here again.

I spent 37$ on chicken tenders that we could barley eat because they were so salty, my husband likes his food salty and he even said that they were too salty. I went on 8/28/21 and the rolls were burnt and nasty tasting. for the prices they charge they need to get with the program and quit serving bad food.

I was hoping to get a fish sandwich since they serve fish. They don't make a fish sandwich so I ordered the fish plate. It was the worst fish I've ever tried to eat. Dried out and all curled up. The only thing that compares is catfish we caught that were starved. There were too many fish in the pond and the owner had stopped feeding them. I'll never go back to Chicken Express.

Bought a 7 piece dinner and two drinks, left and had no chicken. Loved the innuendo that I was lying about the chicken not being in the box. The lady at the front counter when I returned to retrieve my chicken was super nice and helpful. Usually they have better service.

I picked up a tender meal through the drive through and all tenders were extremely over cooked and like beef jerky. Very dry and tough. I called to let them know and didn't get an apology or anything, just an ok...will not go back to the Kerrville location.

We gave a large order to Chicken Express on Sidney Baker Kerrville, 200 pieces with sides and tea 337.00 worth of food. This was to feed people after our mothers Celebration of life (funeral). Long and short it was order to be ready at 10:45 AM when we arrived to pick it up to our surprise it wasn't even started! We finally received our at 1:45pm! Needless to say my family was truly upset many of our guest left hungry. We didn't get as much as a call from this store to simply apologize. I would not spend a penny at this store, management nor owner have any common decency.

If I could put less than a star I would, the person who took our order was rude and dismissive, me and my husband were having a really bad day, there were 4 employees outside smoking, which a big deal i worked in fast food i get it, but it was over 20 min, my husband was stuttering trying to answer a question the person asked over the speaker and they interrupted him loudly repeating the question almost angrily, this happened multiple times as he continued to struggle. They seemed to be rushing us and kept repeating the total after every item even the we clearly weren't done ordering. When we got to the window it took way to long to get our food abs they forgot multiple items. When went back in to get the items, they were signing loudly and mumbling under the breathe. They practically threw the bag over the counter to me. Customer service is horrible.

Came in at 6:00 on a Sunday,all the chairs are put up on top of the tables,except one where my family sat, lights were so dim and uninviting, they said they don’t close till 9:00. Sucks to eat with chair legs all around you and no one in the dining room. Workers are looking at you like when are you gonna leave already.

Came back to kerrville after 9 years away to show my son where he was born. I used to manage this chicken e as a young man so for nostalgia we went by. What a shame, I knew the owner personally and managed this location among others for him and clearly it has gone far downhill. Fried pickles were soggy and not fresh, they take 2.5 minutes to cook. The rolls and biscuits clearly had been sitting since the lunch rush (now about 330 pm) and the tenders were no different. The only thing that came fresh was my chicken breast and wing. Needless to say, won’t be going back.

Every time I go through the drive thur they ALWAYS mess up my order and I have to fix at the window. Then after getting my food, I have to go in to get the rest of my order. Tonight was no different. I spent $56 tonight for them to forget the main part of my order, the tenders. I get home to find out I only got a small gravy for a large family meal. I love Chicken Express but this location really needs to work on their service.

Picked up our meals thru drive-thru... worst meals we've ordered at this restaurant! Livers were dryed up & almost inedible... gravy was spilled all over bottom of box... chicken was also very old tasting.... hubby received mashed potatoes & gravy instead of frys... rolls were squashed to pancake consistency! Horrible meal... won't go there again! $$ is tight right now & when we treat ourselves to ordering out, we would hope that restaurants would try hard to create good meals! Shame on Chicken Express!

Disappointing. This used to be such a good place to grab chicken. We ordered 20 piece tenders and a side (and bone in chicken) and nothing tasted good. Super salty, dry and over cooked. Gravy was runny with the powdered lumps from the mix still evident. For $60 this was a waste of time and money. We hadn’t been there in a long time and won’t be back. Frustrating. I feel for the owners. Your employees aren’t doing right by you.

Ordered a 12 piece chicken family meal threw doordash and when it was delivered there was no chicken. My wife went back to the store and the lady behind the counter was very very rude . My family will never go back.

Went to the restroom placing an order. As I opened the door, a toilet was just flushed, then an employee walked out without washing his hands. Same employee I’ve seen wiping his nose in the kitchen. Waited at the counter for several minutes and never got served, so I left. Probably for the best anyways.

The front drive through operator was very kind and efficient, but I ordered mashed potatoes and fries for my side along with the 7 tender meal, get home and no fries. Needs more work at this location money is tight for college students so not receiving what you paid for is very annoying.

Ordered the #7, grilled chicken club. Had one last week and it was awesome! Ordered one today, it was COLD, and bun was so dry it fell apart at every bite! The only difference in the two orderes was last week we had it cut to share, today we forgot to ask for it to be cut. Must have thought it would be cold anyway by the time we got to our destination, which was sitting in the parking lot to eat it.

Not a clean table anywhere. This is at opening so it's apparent that they haven't been cleaned since yesterday. There's chicken under the tables, on the tables, in the windows, and on the benches. Disgusting atmosphere when things look so unclean and you have to sit at a filthy table with a filthy bench. 🤢 i also would like to add that the trash cans are full and obviously from YESTERDAY since they have just opened.

I ordered two number one combos- spicy. Both with Diet DP and rolls. One with okra and the other mashed potatoes. The reciept doesn't reflect this. One meal was correct. The other not even close as you can see from the picture. Neither drink was Diet DP even after asking at the window to confirm. It seemed to be shift change as right after ordering I saw the guy hand off his headset to another guy. No tenders, no roll, no okra, no diet dp. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Went through the drive-thru today at 11:55 am. Figured the chicken should be fresh at that time of day. Got home and the tenders were over-fried and dried. Very disappointing. They tasted like leftovers from yesterday. No juiciness to the chicken at all. At $11.36, I feel like I was ‘taken’. Won’t return.
