Amazing service and food! My classic go to in my hometown.
Yum! Great staff good food and amazing cake.
Have eaten here several times. It never disappoints. My "goto" place for special events 😀
My husband and I came here the day before our wedding and boy, lemme tell you... the food was AHHHHMMMAAZZINNGGG!!! And dont get me started on their desserts!!!! MMMM MMM MMM They do not disappoint. My husband got the beef medallions and they were delicious, cooked to perfection, melt in yo mouth!!!! I got the bison burger dish and it was YUMMMMMMYYY! My friend got the artichoke chicken Alfredo and she left that plate CLAHHHHEEENNN. The desserts were out of this world!!!! I dont remember the names of them all, but you cannot go wrong with whichever one you pick. I wanted them ALL! The food & dessert were so spectacular and so delicious that I forgot to take photos. Thank you Rails A Cafe for serving us and for having us! The Sruns
This place was truly off the rails! Great service and atmosphere. The food was fresh and very tasteful. We got soup, sandwiches and wraps. The Banana rum cake was probably one of the best cakes I have tasted. Full of flavor and moist. Don't pass up on this place. Shout out to Kai our server who provided excellent service.
Amazing cuisine ... Shrimp Tacos were the best I've ever had! They go above & beyond on serving you and give recommendations of local favorites. They offer decadent desserts, brought out on tray, with 9 to choose from. ~ Giving this a solid 5 Stars ~
Love the antique furniture and decor. An interesting menu. I chose the Farmers market Salad which had grilled chicken, greens, Feta cheese, cranberries, walnuts and raspberry vinaigrette. Refreshing! I’ll go back next time I’m in Kerrville, Texas.
Rails catered our wedding in 2010 and food was outstanding. We always stop to eat at the cafe when passing through and it never disappoints. Consistently excellent over many years.
10/10 recommend. The food was great from the appetizer to the desert, and our server, Stephanie, was excellent. I recommend making a reservation so you can get seated right away. It was our first time at this restaurant and we’ll definitely come back! It was a great place to celebrate our anniversary!
Absolutely a great place to eat. Atmosphere is cool, great service, food devine. We will try to stop on our way back home. Cakes are awesome!
We visit Kerrville often to visit our daughter, who is attending college there. Generally food options have been fast food heavy. On our most recent visit, my daughter suggested Rails and it was hands down the best meal we have had in the last 2 years of eating out near campus. Service was excellent and they were so accommodating of our service dog as well. This will definitely be one of our regular stops when we're in town!
Omg. I died and went to heaven with the grilled cheese appetizer. It got better with the meal (panini for me, Osso Bucco for the hubby). Super dog friendly and adorable location. If we lived closer I'd be doing all our date nights here!! Also, get everything on the dog menu for your pups. I cannot explain the level of enjoyment our two 11 year old girls had at this place
Besides the great food the desserts and wait staff are amazing. Consider going for the deserts only if you don't have time for a meal.
Delightful experience... The staff are incredible...so welcoming, energetic and enthusiastic. We had a difficult time deciding what to order because everything sounded so good but we had great guidance from our server and the food was amazing! Loved our entire dining experience. We chose three slices of cake to take home to share. Delicious😍 Well be back!
You MUST stop by and eat at this place in Kerrville. We followed our sweet server's suggestion and got the wild mushroom quesadillas with tenderloin and they were to die for. The tenderloin melted in your mouth (had ours cooked medium), and the flavorful sauce took the dish to another level. It was a beautiful spring day, so we sat outside in the courtyard. Our experience couldn't have been better.
First time to eat here, and was very impressed. The price is reasonable, and the food is fresh and delicious. Service was awesome with not only our server, but others also checking on us. Dinner was so good we decided to try dessert even though we were stuffed. Dessert was excellent as well. It's not very often you find a place that has fresh great food and excellent service. Rails had both.
When you travel to Kerrville you must go to this place 🥰 Callie was our server and she was amazing! Helping with choices for my long list of dietary restrictions. The bathroom was clean and service fast for the time of day. The food was aaawwmazing and worth the hype 😍 🤩 Beautiful part of our vacation
Food was good but the desserts were spectacular. I had the pina colada cake with spiced rum and pineapple bits. Husband had the homemade banana pudding . Our waiter blessed us with to-go cups of their signature ice tea for our drive home.
We had a group, service was great. The food is perfect. Eric was the best!
This is where we take anyone coming to visit us in Kerrville. Atmosphere is so nice, the patio is so pretty. Everything I've ordered here is good. Spanakopita appetizer is my favorite, beef Marsala, osso bucco, Alfredo dishes, shrimp creole (lots of stewed tomatoes), paninis, allllll of the cake desserts-- hummingbird, pina colada, and so many more that are just delicious. The only thing someone didn't like was the shrimp tacos? But she didn't read the description that the salsa had fruit in it, that weirded her out. They are pet friendly on the patio and even have a cute doggie menu!
Great service by Izaiah, thank you!! Attentive but not overly so. Friendly and professional. He let me test two different Pinot Grigios. Great meal, good wine. Complimentary bread and oil. The pasta and asparagus were delicious. My SINGLE issue was that 2 pieces of asparagus were woody and sharp. If I lived in the area, I’d be back soon!
Shrimp Fish Plate with Onion Rings and Penne N Chz😋😋 The Food Is Amazing Taste And Terrific Peach Cobbler and Ice Cream with Friend Mushrooms for Appetizers and The Restaurant Is Family Owned and We Got Excellent Country Style Service from The Family Owners, I Will Be Coming Many Times More Often.
A converted Rail Station to a high end restaurant. Not to be missed if you have a few days in town. We frequently travel to the Kerrville area and this restaurant is always #1 on our list of reservations to make. The food is extremely good, entrees, appetizers and salads. Excellent wine options by the glass or by the bottle, and don’t forget the fantastic service! After dinner you will have to resist the first class desserts. Simply said this place is one of the best restaurants west of Austin.
We found Kerrville, Texas to have some very good dining options, but none better than the Rails. My wife had the grilled salmon salad. I really liked the sound of the Artichoke chicken Alfredo, but asked to substitute shrimp which they were happy to do. Both of us really enjoyed our meals and the accompanying wine. I had to see the dessert options even though my wife had no choice because of her dairy allergy. I opted for the pina colada cake that had everything I like, rum, coconut, and cream cheese icing. Highly recommend you try this excellent restaurant if you are near Kerrville.
We are staying at their wonderful "sleepy side of rails" bnb. We were able to walk over and have drinks at Rails upon our arrival. They have such a well curated menu of food and drinks. My husband had a beer and I indulged in a glass of local Rose and unsweetened iced tea. Kai provided such thoughtful service to us and our toddler. Down to the kids menu and perfect lemonade for our young traveller. We loved every interaction with each of the staff. Highly recommend!
Just great you don't go here to save money but the food is worth every penny everything was so great loved it
Came in here for a quick lunch. We were seated quickly, our server was attentive and friendly and accommodating of our dietary restrictions for some in our party. The food was delicious! Great gluten free options.
First off our server, Journey, was amazing! Great knowledge and energy. They good was really good and the weather was perfect for sitting outside for a late lunch/early dinner. Cool train depot decor and vibe. We will be back and I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner when in Kerrville.
Always great food. None of the food is fried. Great service we have been here several times. Their bakery also is amazing.
I really don’t know why this restaurant doesn’t have 100k 5 stars, it’s amazing. Every bite of our food was so savory and delightful. From pasta, to the steak, to the dessert. Chef’s kiss
I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are ever in Kerrville! It's a darling little place with warm decor and a beautifully lit outdoor seating area. The food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced ($13-$17 per dish on average). The service was excellent as well. I will definitely be returning!
David, Ella, Emma and I ate dinner at Rails tonight. The old railroad depot is beautifully restored and decorated eclecticly. Ella ordered Allen's Awesome Spaghetti. Emma ordered Marissa's Magical Cheese Pizza. I chose osso bucco, and David picked filet of salmon with sautéed shrimp. The food was delicious! The dining room was busy and clean. The restrooms were clean and well-stocked. Recommended!
Really tasty dinners, awesome desserts and fantastic, friendly service. Wide variety of menu items to fit several price ranges. It's a good spot where almost anyone could find something to eat. My wife said add shrimp or meat to the portabella quesadilla or it might be bland. (She had the shrimp and liked it.) I had the grilled salmon salad and enjoyed it very much. Portions were generous, so come hungry.
Farmer’s Market Grilled Chicken Salad is baby spring mix, green apples, Texas goat cheese, walnuts, and sundried cranberries tossed in raspberry vinaigrette and topped with grilled chicken. After being in a car for almost 6 hours, a refreshing light salad was the perfect cure. All the produce was fresh and crisp. The apple, cranberry, and vinaigrette gave the salad a nice balance of sweet and tangy. The apple and walnuts added a crunchy texture. The Texas goat cheese was one of the best I have ever had – so creamy and did not have that “goaty, barnyard” flavor you might experience from other goat cheeses. The chicken was grilled to perfection – tender and juicy. Rating: 5/5 Osso Bucco is tender, slow-cooked bone-in pork shank served with red skin mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. This is the best osso bucco I have ever had! The slow-cooking process renders the pork so tender, it was like butter. The demi glace was just amazing with its silky, luscious texture and dark rich hue. You could probably slather that on anything and I would eat it, like those red skin mashed potatoes! I didn’t waste a drop! Even with its richness, it wasn’t heavy. Sautéed spinach was the perfect pairing providing a green and sweet flavor contrast. Rating: 5/5 Linguine Napolitana is linguine sautéed with garlic, olive oil, diced tomatoes, zucchini, capers, and feta cheese. You can add chicken or shrimp too. This dish was an ode to the Mediterranean with Italian and Greek flavor profiles. For a pasta dish, it was rather light so it was a great option for lunch. It had an excellent balance of flavors from the zingy garlic, sweet tomatoes, briny capers, and salty feta cheese. The shrimp was perfectly grilled and added a nice smoky flavor to the dish. Rating: 5/5
Even though we have to deal with social distancing etc, the service was excellent and so was the food. I had the Bacon wrapped Tenderloin and Shrimp and my wife had the Tenderloin medallions with Apple Bourbon Demi glazé. Both were absolutely beautiful and delicious. This was the 2nd time we've been there for our anniversary and I can't wait until next year. Waitress was very nice and all the wait staff was very nice and on top of things.
I rarely give a 5 star rating BUT this was the best overall dinner experience that my daughter, Heather and I had in quite some time. We walked in was greeted with a choice of indoors or outside; we chose outdoors cause it was a beautiful evening if u were in the sunshine. They said to go pick out a table and when we went outside we met up with the nice lady that greeted us. We were having a difficult time deciding which table to sit at that had sunshine. We had noticed a table that was a little outside the format with 🌞. I pointed it out, mentioned it didn't have cushions and the lady quick like advised that we take the cushions from an unoccupied table. So we did! That was a unexpected 😳 surprise. We sat down. Then we we met the most uplifting, witty, clever, sharp server that we have had the pleasure of meeting. Her name was Katy. She knew what she was doing, knew herself, and knew what her job was. If all the places to dine in had one of her they would make out like 🏆. I had a root beer and Heather had a sprite to drink. It took us a little while to decide what we wanted from the many choices of 🍽 on the menu. Katy was very keen and helpful in our picks on what to choose for dinner. I chose the Mahi Mahi Tacos and Heather picked the Bison Burger. We had bread with oil/butter while we waited for the meal. My Tacos were freaking awesome 👌. It was the first time that I had Mahi Mahi. Heather was not as happy with her plate of choice. It was her fault not the cooks. When she orders meat she likes it rare. She realized with Boson she has to have it cooked more than regular beef. Katy noticed that she wasn't eating her meal as fast as I was and asked about it and suggested that she get something else that she might like. When she had mentioned the soup of the day it caught her attention. So she had a bowl of potato/bacon/cheese soup. And 😲 2 die 4.!! It lit up her face 🌝 . I love when people make my people happy. I was full and she was getting full but Katy just had to mention the D word to Heather. She went and came back with the Dessert 🍨 Buffet. Beyond a desirable site. We both had a slice of their chocolate cakes. I had the Choc Chip Cookie cake, I was in 😍. We had a great mother and daughter dinner date accompanied by our Server KATY! I could hardly walk to my car but did it with the pleasurable memories of the dinner experience at Rails at the Depot! I would like to Thank whomever hired Katy to work as a server u made a smart decision. Katy, I hope u get to c this review because u deserve every bit of kudos u get for the job u do and for the person u have grown up to be. Thanks for putting a smile on my daughter's face and a memory in her ❤. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS.
We were spending the night in Kerrville and look for a change from fast food. The Rails surpassed our expectations Bryan was superb.
Good atomsphere and even better food. I have not been disappointed with anything I have tried. I had the tilapia tacos the first time I went and the food was Soo good words cannot describe. I have even just tried sandwiches and they are out of this world. This spot has amazing dessert that will take your breathe away. If you are in Kerrville this restaurant is a must!
Our first family restaurant outing since March and it was amazing! Staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. We sat outside on the very roomy patio. We felt completely safe and cared for by everyone there. The bison burger and Mahi Mahi lettuce wraps were delicious. Make sure to leave room for dessert. They have several options and the Reece’s cake was decadent. We loved the whole experience and will definitely be back.
What a wonderful place . Ended our day with an excellent meal. Started with as caprese salad, she ordered a spinach and strawberry salad, and had a cup of the tomato bisque. I enjoyed the beef medallions, the mash and the demi-glace just made it better. Finished up with two great deserts from their bakery next door. Food came out quickly and was perfectly done. The service was quick and helpful. Best time I have had at a restaurant in a while. I would recommend everyone try it once, I know you will come back.
Cozy, nostalgic, and easy to love. The restored depot setting gives it charm right away, and the service is warm and on-the-spot (they check in without hovering). Their daily soups make a great starter, always fresh and the desserts are absolutely worth saving room for. It’s a great spot for a family dinner.
We came for brunch before we left back home and this place was amazing. Our waitress was really friendly and awesome I forgot her name but it started with a “K”. We had dessert and she was even nice enough to pack another piece and pack it on ice and made it all the way home! Definitely worth every penny and everything is made in house!
I absolutely love coming here! The weather is perfect in October and the staff is super friendly and attentive. We had a lovely waiter named Ryan who was very nice to us and made sure we were taken well care of. Food amazing 🤩 as always. Highly recommend the Alfredo linguine.
My family went for dinner for the first time recently. We made a reservation, and I'm glad we did, as the tables were filling up fast. There are limited inside tables, but there is also a pretty patio for outside dining. The menu is fairly extensive, and everything sounded wonderful; it was hard to choose. The food did not disappoint - it was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly done. The staff was friendly. My only complaint was the waitress came off a bit condescending and judgmental, which made us all feel a bit uncomfortable. She told us how we should order or food or what we would or would not want. Instead of it sounding helpful, she acted like we should know their menu and how things worked. With that said, she was attentive with the table, and we didn't have to wait for things. We will definitely go back, as it didn't completely ruin the experience, but I'm hopeful we get another server in the future.
I’ve had lunches here, I’ve had dinner here. I just hosted a private wedding party here. The food is always great. They help with selections based on dietary restrictions as well. These folks really take care of the patron and understand customer service. 10/10, I would leave 6 google stars if I could. I’m very appreciative of the effort and care that the staff takes. Each visit for me has been outstanding. BTW, no one at the restaurant has ever asked me for a review. Their food, atmosphere and service require me to feel that I need to do a review. I don’t do reviews very often.
***Updated Review*** I’ve had the pleasure of coming back to this café a few times now, and every visit has been just as delightful as the first. Kali, Cass, and Eric consistently go above and beyond to make the experience thoughtful, warm, and enjoyable. It’s the little touches that make such a big difference, like the time they dried the outdoor tables and chairs after a rain shower and even brought out cushions so my dog and I could sit comfortably outside. That level of care is rare, and it truly makes you feel welcome. Chewbacca (my dog) is just as smitten with this place as I am! He devoured the Lassie Meal (chicken and rice) from their dog menu, and when they surprised him with a fresh-baked dessert made in-house for pups, his tail could not stop wagging. It’s safe to say he’s now a loyal customer too. For myself, every dish I’ve tried has been a hit. The shrimp Caesar wrap is one of my favorites—the combination of black beans, queso fresco, and that creamy chipotle sauce creates a burst of flavor that feels fresh, unique, and deeply satisfying (and as a California native, I know good wraps when I taste them!). On another visit, I ordered the creamy penne chicken with bacon on Kali’s recommendation, and I’m so glad I listened. The Alfredo sauce was hands-down the best I’ve ever had, rich, smooth, perfectly seasoned and the asparagus wasn’t just an afterthought, it was tender and plentiful, adding the perfect balance. And of course, the desserts are unforgettable. The lemon berry cake was moist, vibrant, and bursting with flavor. But the real showstopper was the decadent chocolate cake drizzled with caramel sauce, it was the kind of dessert you want to savor slowly, but it disappears too quickly because it’s just that good. This café has truly become a special place for me, not just for the consistently delicious food, but for the people who make it such a joyful and memorable experience. Kali, Cass, and Eric bring so much heart to what they do, and it shows in every visit. ***Original Review*** My partner and I had the most fun, uplifting, and truly unique experience at this café, thanks to our incredible server, Kali. From the moment she greeted us, her beautiful spirit and vibrant energy made the atmosphere feel warm and welcoming. She didn’t just take our order, she brought the menu to life! The way she described the food and desserts was filled with so much passion and confidence that we could genuinely hear the leadership and love she puts into what she does. On her recommendation, I had the B.L.A.T. sandwich with turkey and mozzarella—absolutely delicious! My partner went with the shrimp Caesar wrap, which was equally amazing. And when Kali started describing the award-winning Puns Colada cake… there was no way I could resist. I’m so glad I didn’t, it was everything she promised and more! We’ll definitely be coming back, not just for the delicious food, but to experience Kali’s amazing energy again. She turned a casual café visit into something really memorable. Thank you Kali we will see you again!
This place has been on my radar for about 6 months now. So today, I took the short drive from Bandera and had lunch here. I have to be honest, this place was amazing on all fronts! The vibe and the atmosphere are absolutely beautiful. I enjoyed my meal on the outdoor patio, and it was quite lovely. My server, Kali was so sweet, so nice, and super professional. She explained the daily specials, answered a few questions I had about the menu, and did the PERFECT job of being attentive to my table, without "hovering". Kali was awesome! I had the Osso Buco and it was delicious! Then.... and then, lol I had the Pina Colada cake for dessert. Real talk, the cake was one of the best desserts I've had in my ENTIRE life. I already know, that Rails A Cafe will be a regular dining experience for me. Simply amazing!
spectacular, didn’t disappoint. second time back for me and sat outside. Weather was nice and cool, kinda windy but didn’t bother us at all. I got the panini, had mozzarella on the side, tasted delicious! Boyfriend had bison burger, devoured. The waiter/waitress were very pleasant and attentive. Dessert is definitely worth trying, so many delicious flavors to choose from. We got one to go and can’t wait to try it at home. We’ll be back soon!
Rails Café at the Depot – Kerrville, TX Tucked inside a beautifully restored historic train depot, Rails Café serves up more than just a meal—it delivers charm, comfort, and seriously good eats. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with vintage touches that make it feel like a step back in time. The menu leans into classic American dishes with a fresh, flavorful twist. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty lunch or a laid-back dinner, you’ll find something that hits the spot. But here’s the golden rule: don’t skip dessert. Their homemade pies and cakes are the real stars—rich, indulgent, and unforgettable. One bite and you’ll be plotting your return visit. Must-try: The crème brûlée or one of their seasonal pies—seriously worth every bite. Pros: Charming historic setting Friendly, attentive staff Fresh, flavorful food Legendary desserts Cons: Can get busy, especially on weekends (call ahead!) Verdict: Rails Café isn’t just a great place to eat—it’s a Kerrville gem. Come for the comfort food, stay for the dessert, and leave already planning your next visit. Rosa Carrillo
My husband and I are new to the Kerrville area and we recently decided on lunch at the Rails A Cafe at the Depot. Before I get to the food aspect of our visit, I must mention that my husband enjoys history and the restaurant has a book that they shared with him to peruse. That was a very nice gesture from the staff; now on to the meal. He enjoyed the All Natural North American Bison Burger and I order the Wild Mushroom Quesadillas. Both were very delicious. Our server, Izaiah, was attentive, cordial, and a delight to meet. And although the desserts looked scrumptious, we were full from our meals so we did not indulge. Thank you all at the Rails for a wonderful experience!
I ordered the smoked salmon salad and it was very delicious. The service was wonderful and I sat outside on a nice day. I would highly recommend visiting for a wonderful meal and nice calm environment. I have been several more times and I enjoy the food every single time including the salmon with shrimp that I had today.
This is the place. I have a gluten and milk allergy. They work with allergies really well. They even bring out gluten-free bread before the meal. I have never had that anywhere else. The pasta and BLT was fantastic. All fresh and delicious. They also have a menu for your pup. It's really cool. Great service. Wonderful atmosphere. Love it!
Price point caught us a little off guard at first; not terribly expensive but more than we had anticipated. That being said, it was absolutely worth it. Everything was fantastic and the flavors were great. The grilled quail salad with apple pico and a fruit vinaigrette was unlike anything I’ve tasted before. The orzo in my wife’s dish was cooked perfectly. The alcohol infused cakes were delectable. Definitely a worthwhile meal.
This was a nice dining experience. The restaurant area was cute and open. The staff were very friendly and well acquainted with the menu items. There are outside areas to sit as well making a fun place to spend some time with friends anytime. The bathrooms are single person and very clean. The dining areas were very clean and inviting. The menu offered various items from salads to pastas and burgers. All looked good. The curry chicken salad was delicious, but a little heavy on the sweet with the combination of raspberry vinaigrette fruit and candied crabaisins. May try a less sweet dressing as an offset. The tacos were also delicious and portions were perfect. These are a strong choice if someone is undecided on a menu item. Desert offerings were presented on a platter that gave an delicious visual of the cakes and pies. When brought to the table the actual plate was made up with drizzled jams and spices that further added to the presentation. Very well done. One suggestion would be to do a tasting platter due to the number of offerings of partial pieces. May be hard to do with the dazes required. Overall it was an enjoyable dining experience. We will definitely be returning.
Great food and service, its a little tight seating indoors I would suggest eating outside.
Wow, I was impressed. This place is definitely what you call "quaint". You just get a homey feel walking in here. The front door is impressive...the tables are adorable. The place is small and romantic (not a good thing when you are dining with your Uncle). However, if you are looking for a date night spot...I would definitely recommend this place. There is also outdoor seating for just the right night. As for the food, I was slightly shocked by how good it was. I had the Bison Burger with the Mushroom Cap, Bacon, and Avocado. WOW. The Pink Lemonade was different (more of a rose color) but delicious. We different have any adult beverages but I did notice a variety on the menu.
Great food. So good. It did say two $$ so we did make our decision based on the location plus the menu pricing but it was a bit higher priced than we originally expected... BUT it was worth it. Very good food. I got the shrimp creole and my husband got the mahi mahi tacos, both would be recommended. The queso fresco appetizer was not worth the money. Small chunks of cheese and slices of bread left me wanting so much more and too pricey.
Lunch sandwiches were tasty but the southwest chicken panini and shrimp caesar wrap were both lacking a little on the chicken & shrimp inside. Maybe a full boneless chicken breast cut in half would’ve been better than the few pieces of cut up chicken in the panini. However the pina colada cake was delicious and the service was very good!
I recommend going here. Elegance in a small town. It is a little restaurant with wonderful history and ambiance. Its atmosphere is warm and relaxing. Outside seating on the patio with shade and umbrellas is a nice option. The food is high but very good. One can always go there for the wonderful homemade desserts to enjoy the experience of such a hidden gem. I recommend their Strawberry Bacon Spinach Salad.
Service was good, food was good, but a little pricey. Had the beef Marsala, and it was good. Wife had beef panini and she said it was good. We both had desert, wife had a slice of peanut butter cake that was delicious and I had a slice of chocolate cake with cheesecake inside that was pretty good. We had a good experience here.
Been there several times, was disappointed this time. Ordered a turkey sandwich and there was so little meat on there wondered if it was a mistake.
We ate here this past Saturday evening on a "date" night. The restaurant was noisy in spite of several empty tables. The hostess seemed harried so we sat ourselves. I ordered a glass of Spellbound Merlot from the Napa region. The wine list was international and touted higher end wines like Silver Oak. My glass was 10.95. When I looked up the wine online I found it was available in HEB around $15. A good find for me but not my pocketbook. I wanted a steak that night and there was one steak dinner offered at $49.95. I ordered it and the steak was done the way I like. I asked for Bernaise and was given a brown gravy like substance. I didn't want to be rude so I kept quiet. The meal while good was overpriced. The service was fair. I would not go back. I still search for an elegant romantic spot for "date night"
Cute little restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Very nice and friendly staff. Small bar available. You're given bread with olive oil and seasoning while waiting for your food. The olive oil overwhelmed the spices. The spanikopita was good. The pasta, pesto, portobello with shrimp dish was ok. Some of the shrimp were cold. The oso buco was ok at best. The mashed potatoes were the best part of the dish. The pork was overdone but the gravy saved it.
Me and my friends went to rails for the first time to celebrate and the food was great so was the atmosphere but the service was okay. Our server, Zach M was nice at first and i will admit we didn't tip that well because we didn't have a lot of money but enough for lunch. However after paying and leaving the building Zach walked out behind us and argued in front of other customers about how we did not tip enough. We apologized and told him we tipped what we could but we do not have a lot of money and he decided to verbally reprimand and harass us. We will not be coming back even if the food was good, because no employee should ever verbally accost a customer.
Unfortunately it looks like half of my salmon didn’t get out on my $18.00 salad along with any additional toppings. For the price, it was not worth it. Very upset at the amount for the price I paid.
(Food was great. Our waiter was great.) The reason I’m not giving five stars is because we spent around $200 on our family meal and after paying the bill we were promptly shooed away, having been there only a little over an hour for an appetizer, drinks, main courses, and desserts. My husband and I travel for work full time, which means I only get to see the rest of my family a few times a year. So being rushed to move along was notable not only because I never in my life have experienced this at any restaurant in the Americas, Europe, or Africa… it was notable because a host or manager felt it appropriate to rush the time I was spending with my family, which is precious. So it doesn’t matter that the food was great and our waiter was great. I will not be back.
We dined there the night before the Eclipse. We chose the restaurant based on reviews and the prices on pictures of the menu. The link to the menu on their website was inconveniently broken. When sat down we were given menus with prices that were approximately 50% more than the regular prices. It is a shame that the gross increase in price was not noted on their website as we would never had gone there if we had known.
