The staff are friendly, a big change from 2 years ago. And the food is great but kind of pricey but at the end of the day it is worth it.

I love Freebirds for their extensive choices compared to some other burrito spots. Their queso and mint sweet tea are two things I have to get every time.

This place is a really good place to go and eat lunch, great options to put on your burrito, clean place and surrounding, very good food I enjoyed it, 5 star rating

I had a great experience at Freebirds on Trimmier Road in Killeen! The food was fresh and delicious, and the service was excellent. It was my first time there, and Tyler was so helpful and friendly. He took the time to explain the different protein options and even let me sample a few before choosing. That made the whole experience even better! I got a bowl, and it was really good. I’ll definitely be back!

I was in a nachos type of mood so that is what I ordered. I am giving 4 stars because I didn’t like the nachos. Something in there was too spicy for me… :( Not sure what it was. But I ordered chicken, Spanish rice, guacamole, Queso, and Pico de gallo. I give 5 stars for service and atmosphere because two employees were cleaning up tables and sweeping. It’s great to see restaurants keeping their building clean!

They deliver! No need for doordash! Food was great but if you're not into spicy, avoid the jalapeno cream/sauce. It's delicious but definitely has a kick.😳 Quesadillas include the rice and beans so they don't stick well, you'll end up eating them like burritos. Still great, though. Kid's chicken bowl was also good. "Seasoned chicken" is dark meat only. "Regular chicken" is only white meat. FYI. Homemade chips and delicious queso for dip. See pics.

Ok so I have never been at freebirds before so this was our first time and first experience here. My husband and I got the bowl, I got carnitas, got steak. Although the food tasted fresh, my husband did complain that the food was cold. He had to ask for them to heat up his food. The fountain drinks were good, they didn't taste bad, the ice tasted fresh. There really wasn't a lot of customers but I would say that their food would have tasted better if it was hot like it was supposed to be.

You pick what you want in your burrito so you kinda decide the taste but all the food is fresh, staff isn't real friendly and the restaurant is hit or miss on the cleanliness.

Love their spinach tortilla and pesos sauce. Food is great if u can wait in a long line and deal with their (profanity removed)ty attitude workers.

First time there my daughter and myself and I spent $37 and the food was not good the meat was cold ( I had chicken my daughter the steak) beans no flavor the Spanish rice not good.the chips they opened a white bag and put a little in a brown paper bag. There queso now that was great!!! I won't be going back 😞

I placed an order on 2/25/2026 for delivery. I received the bag wide open (not sealed shut like is required for delivery from this establishment). When I removed my food, the cookies I ordered were not included among other things being wrong. I tried to call this location 4 times, tried the Temple location once, and then finally the Waco location picked up the call. They listened to my issues and took my name and phone number to pass onto the GM at the Killeen location. They told me the GM from Killeen would reach out by close of business, which they did not. I left a formal complaint the same day on the Freebirds' website in hopes someone would reach out, but no one has as of today 3/8/2026. I am now leaving this Google review in hopes someone from Freebirds will respond.

Me and my family got food from this place. Their taco shells and burrito wrap don’t have any taste, even if you ask for corn shells. If you go to an average Mexican style restaurant, you will get your food hot, taco shells or burrito wrap hot or roasted. If you think that Taco Bell sends people to the toilet, this place beats them. There is no way that we get sick for a coincidence. I’m not sure if this is because we are in TEXAS and we know good food, and this franchise comes from California. I think that this business model is not good for them, they should try to be a pet shop.

My brother convinced me to give Freebirds a try for lunch. So we ordered a pick up order. He brought our order home and everything was there so thumbs up for that. When I began eating the steak burrito I ordered the first couple of bites was okay being mostly sour cream and guacamole but after the first couple of bites it was so salty I couldn't finish eating it. It kinda tasted like someone accidentally over ended the entire container of salt over the food and tried to correct it to not waste anything. I'm pretty upset that my brother talked me out of Chipotle now.

Myself and my family went to the killeen location today around 2 pm. When we walked in It was dead and still had to wait almost 6 minutes for one of the girls to start taking my order. I ordered a meal for myself and son becuase we got the burrito meal deal they have going on. There was only 2 girls back there to begin with and one didnt know what to do at all. My burrito sat unwrapped for a few minutes I had to ask the other girl to wrap it and expressed i wasn't interested in cold food. My husband and 2 other children got nachos and one of them sat for a few minutes as well. I believe when your order food like that it should be made and sent out within a few minutes. Absolutely not the case here. I would assume the same girl that left my burrito unwrapped to get get cold is new becuase she kept trying to ring me up for 2 monster burritos I had to look at her and ask her do they look like a monster burrito to you. Im very much a get what I pay for and that wasn't it. Eventually everything was rang up it was around 53 dollars. I get the the table and unwrapped my burrito and I touch it, it's ice cold . Im not eating cold food i expected to be hot. I tell my family they can have this back I'm not eating it. I got up to return it then my daughter came to tell me her food was cold the nachos that had sat there a couple minutes while they were doing whatever they were doing behind the line. I returned them as well. I ended up returning the whole meal. PSA check your receipt becuase I was given a reprint while being told it was a return. Definitely not the case. I went back up the the register and asked for clarification one girl dropped the receipt and walked off I'd assume it was the manager that picked it up and proceeded to do the return I made sure I kept both copies. I work in food service so to see this is sad and for the employees to think it's ok to send out poor quality like that is wild. While I was waiting for my refund receipt the guy that had an order behind us came right back in with his order and said it was ice cold as well. So that was money lost on their end for poor quality.

This has been my 3rd time ordering from here the first experience was great food was great which is what prompted me to go back a 2nd time. The 2nd time food tasted weird it wasn't as favorable as the first time, and there chopping of veggies and herbs were very disappointing. I waited probably a month or so and ordered again today because I was craving chipotle but thought about free birds as an alternative being that they are cheaper and you get more portions. Well after today I will be sticking with chipotle. I got a Chicken monster bowl with sauteed peppers and onions amongst other fixings. The onions and peppers were not sautéed, some were chopped in big pieces. The cilantro was so poorly chopped I was eating more stems than any thing. There was a piece of a bay leaf left in the food. I do understand what a bay leaf is and why it's utilized in cooking, however I am not the person that likes it in my food when it's time to eat. Paid for extra cheese and didn't get it. On top of all that and paying $39 I couldn't even get a lid for my bowl instead it was wrapped in foil like I was given a to go plate leaving the cookout. Instead of actually enjoying the food I spent my time picking through it finally got tired and threw the bowl away.

Employees touching face and hair, not changing gloves in between doing so. Update: Staff lies when you ask them to put extra sauce in the bag. They lied to me because it was a delivery. Straight up lied to my face, and customer was not happy. Which makes me look bad as their delivery provider. DO NOT LIE TO US! When we ask before, during, and after to add something, do it! Don't say you did something and not do it. My rating has dropped from 3 to 1.
