Great food, the employees here are so lovely as well. Owner will come right over and have a conversation with you like hes know your for 20 years! Great place.

We had a lovely Mother's Day Breakfast at Michael's Diner...Terrific wait staff service, a friendly reception upon our arrival, and though the restaurant was quite busy today, we were seated with minimal wait time. Highly recommend this dining establishment.

Always a pleasure for the 22 years that I have eaten there. I do miss the Prime Rib. That was my favorite.

This is our go-to diner in Kingston. Same staff has been there for years. Great large menu and of course great breakfasts. Large portions and quick service if you're in a hurry. Reasonable prices too. Highly recommend.

Went there late. Was after midnight. The whole staff was so nice. The food was great. It was nice to see that they didn't order the cheaper ketchup like some of the dinners are doing.

The food was delicious. From the soup to the main course. I wish I could include dessert but I didn’t order any, next time I’ll have to. My boyfriend had the chicken Marsala, very tasty, of course I tried a bite or two or three. I ordered the moussaka, also delicious! I’ll be coming back soon!

My favorite breakfast place. Also, great for other meals but I don't go out too often as my wife cooks for me. I really like the cheeseburger deluxe choice. The fries are hot and the pickles are good. My wife likes the wraps.

Michael's Diner in Kingston, NY is definitely my favorite place to eat. Parking is easy. The diner is very clean and all proper sanitary procedures are met. Staff is friendly and the decor is pleasant and bright. Seats are comfortable. Prices are very reasonable with good-sized portions. Menu is extensive. Most importantly, the food is hot and delicious. I highly recommend it.

Hands down best Rueben sandwich I've ever had! The corned beef was tender & not fatty, and there was a ton on the sandwich. Delicious. My sister had the turkey club, also delicious. We took home bread pudding, which was great! Would definitely go back here!

Just had Thanksgiving with some of my family. As in years past, Thanksgiving is always great here! I think it's because we can all order what we want to eat (like chopped steak dinner) and there's turkey too for those who want it! The people and service is fantastic. ♡♡♡ Thank you.

It’s been quite some time since we’ve been here. We were going to KVD until recently (menu change and increased prices) so glad we gave this place another go! Great food, exceptional service (Olivia was waitress) and a menu that gives you lots of choices! If you want a great meal with friendly service….. grab a bite to eat here you won’t be disappointed

Nice clan dinner with great service. Nice moist omelet with their homemade chili and cheese. Marbled rye toast and homefries. Wife had a delicious panini and fries. Second time there, will be going back.

I like to come here for the big breakfast plates. I usually get one of the breakfast specials. I like to add their french toast to my order. Getting into the joint can be interesting becuase of the roadway, but it's worth it for the price. Bring a sweater, I always feel cold. Never too crowded when I've gone around lunch time and service has been quick.

Food here is absolutely delicious first time here in a long time and will definitely be back but I have to say as good as the food is the service is really where they shine we had Olivia and she was amazing both of her food recommendations were on point highly recommend it here and ask for Olivia it truly made the experience

My wife and I frequent Michael’s for both dine in and pickup and find the food and staff to be excellent. Prices are very reasonable, and the menu is extensive. The taco salad is one of my personal favorites, but everything I’ve tried here has been really good. Give it a shot if you’re in the area - much better than supporting one of the 50 chain restaurants on the same road (and better food).

AC felt great after walking here from Enterprise car rentals. Waitress was friendly, quick and efficient. Unfortunately a small wasp had fallen into the fryer and was served with my fries! 😲 No big deal, could probably just eaten it as it was definitely well done! However, management immediately picked up my check and wanted to give me dessert! I declined as I've had much worse served to me in over the past sixty years!! The Michael's burger was cooked to perfection, it was a 1/2 pound, hand packed burger with fried onions, mushrooms, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, crispy bacon and a side of coleslaw. This menu option is definitely enough food for two meals and well worth it's price!! In this case it was free thanks to a small wasp!!

It’s a local diner with great food options for the entire family. Our waitress was very nice and our food came out quickly considering there was a Saturday morning crowd.

I've been here 4 times and they've never disappointed. The portions are great and flavorful and the waitstaff is very friendly. Prices are also decent considering the portions you are given. If you're wondering what to get, you can't go wrong with their breakfast items such as their pancakes or omelettes

We ordered using DoorDash. Everything came out great and delivered promptly (still warm). Very generous portion of fries. The roast beef club in particular was really yummy.

Absolutely loved this classic diner. Had a chance to talk with the owner - such a great community minded guy. Large portions, good quality, big value for money, enormous variety. We went back for breakfast the next day and we’re really happy with our meals that as well.

Recommend this diner for breakfast. Never visited for lunch or dinner. Always have fresh avocados, which I love for breakfast. Hard rolls are delicious and fresh. Plenty of parking and parking lot is always free of snow and ice in the winter. I believe this diner has a new owner over the past year or so and the quality of food and service is much better than previously provided. Check it out.

This was my second visit in six months as I travel a lot. This diner is as clean as they can get. It's on 9w by hoffmans. The young woman who was my waitress was everything you'd expect. "Servers" at other diners all over the area are just that, People who deliver food, not hospitality. This young lady was The most impressive Waitress I've encountered in years. If you want a nice clean diner with good food and good waitresses Stop soon. Also their hours are well into the evening, I'm thinking 12 or two a.m.(check though). Five thumbs up.👍👍👍💪💪

Nice, clean friendly atmosphere. I had the house special, fried chicken. It was the best diner fried chicken I ever had in my life. Portion was large and truly 1/2 a chicken. I couldn't finish it. The price was very reasonable. Looking forward to going back again.

Nice little diner with pretty decent food. It can be a little tough to get in and out of the parking lot. Especially if your not familiar with them. But a nice diner experience . It's our first choice for breakfast in the area.

Cozy little diner with vintage appeal and an extensive menu with all the expected favorites. I ordered a garden burger deluxe which was delightfully more garden than burger. The fries and coleslaw were perfect The wait staff, while super busy and seemingly overworked on the sunday afternoon I visited, were very friendly, upbeat, and down to earth. The price for my meal was reasonable, and I was very happy with my food. I may be back!!

Nice diner to go to. I'm not much of a diner kind of guy, but I gotta admit the food is pretty good. The owner Steve is a really nice guy. Twice when I went, I saw him personally going around asking people how they doing, How's the food, etc. One thing I appreciate is they are clean.

Food was good as usual. Was a little annoyed that I didn't recieve a salad dressing for my salad. Was also told 20 mins for a pick up and almost took twice as long. Not a huge deal. Love the diner and will most likely be back.

We both ordered corned beef & hash skillet. She brought out something with broccoli so she re ordered my breakfast. Cook sent out very undercooked corned beef hash. I ended up just eating the egg.

Food was great, the host was very kind, and parking was easy. Our waitress, however, was not kind. We like to be kind to everyone we come across. My wife and I asked how she was doing, she did not seem to want to answer or engage in conversation. We thought, perhaps she is having a bad day, and left it alone. We noticed, however, that an elderly couple at the table next to us received alot of kindness from her. We were puzzled, but she worked hard, and we made sure that she received a nice tip. The person at the front who took our card was such a sweet kid. So not all too bad from this diner.

Went for breakfast food was great and a great price as well. Our server was very nice. A little outdated and the table had a huge bubble in it so it wasn't flat. But overall a good experience. My 2 yr old rly enjoyed the fresh fruit. I had French toast and hash browns. Rye toast was also a big win for my little one. We will definitely be going back.

We go here fairly frequently. The food is great, portions are ample, prices more than fair. Today was the first time in a long time I had been in the ladies restroom. It is very important that the restroom be handicap accessible. There are not even grab bars in the stall. That would make a HUGE difference. Thank you.

They Fall Short as A "Diner"! Very small Menu. I had Breakfast and my wife had a Lunch Special. Was not impressed with Gravy. Very tight and they used Italian sausage in the Gravy. Homemade Biscuts were nice. Eggs and potatoes were cooked correctly. Our Server was on point. Coffee was also on point. I Will come back.

We came in at around midnight, was seated promptly, and the server was friendly and responsive. Some of our orders were wrong but It was a late night. I received the Cajun burger, but I didn't taste any spices or Cajun flavor. It might be the best idea to stay safe on the menu and get something simple. Other than that, it was nice, clean and quiet.

I found Michael's diner to be very clean. I had a waitress and her name is Stacy. While we were having our breakfast. Not only did she serve the woman who came in after us 1st because she was a regular. But she was sitting down and having her own breakfast while we were eating. Not one time within that moment that she got done eating did I see her actually wash her hands or anything like that she continued serving customers befopen customers before washing her hands. She not only touched her face with a napkin with her hands near her face but then still did not wash her hands. There was another waitress by the name of Mary and I find Mary to be one of the most hard working waitresses in the entire restaurant this morning. She was very attentive she moved her behind quite a bit throughout the entire time I've been sitting here watching the staff working she is the only one that continuously and checked on other customers. She's the only one to notice that myself and my mother were out of coffee and brought us more coffee. Mary deserves all the credit and if I could if I would have tipped her instead of Stacy because Mary is the hard working one hard working 1 and Stacy would rather feed herself then check on her customers and whether or not their food is cooked the way they like. She did not come back to check on us until we were almost done eating. Otherwise the food was absolutely delicious Mary was a fantastic waitress. I would have given this restaurant 5 stars if it hadn't been for the fact that my server Stacy paid almost no attention to us. Always a good time. I have been here a few times and the place is always busy (a good thing in my opinion). The food was on the table in just a few minutes and cooked to my liking. Great staple for the Kingston area, and an amazing place to eat.

Usually love eating here. This time my over easy eggs were way over done and the fries that came with it were about half the amount there usually is. Employees here are always friendly.

Stopped in for lunch on MLK Day and it was quite busy which we took for a good sign. Sadly the tired interior matched the average sandwich and omelet we ordered. Wait staff were nice enough, and the prices were standard, but not much else to report. We probably won't return.

My food was very disappointing. I had the very generous special spinach pie and moussaka plate. The rice was good. The greek salad good, except I hadn't expected the %$# fish on it. The spinach pie was mushy and the moussaka was blue, just not delicious. My husband's Athenian Chicken was very good and my daughter's Chicken Francais seemed delicious. Service was very slow. Waitress was very brusque, but then abjectly apologized for her rudeness. Environment was very brightly lit, typical diner.

This place was ok. First it was freezing where we sat by the window but later we discovered that air was coming out of the ventilation system. Next we got our coffee, watery and flavorless. The pancakes were good, eggs were good, one in our party ordered French toast "cooked with cinnamon" but there wasn't any on it at all, the "home fries" are like boiled chunk potatoes cooked like hash browns with no seasoning at all so we ordered them cooked with peppers and onions and they just put them on top. They were still bland. Food came out quickly, and I was full for a good price. Again about the home fries though... Don't call them that if they're not... Fully cooked potatoes pressed into like a fritter, or potato patty.

I'm not sure why it's happening, but the food is just not what it used to be. Tonight we had instant potatoes. I've never had instant potatoes there before. They were poorly made, no flavor and somewhat runny. We were very disappointed. I can honestly say the best part of my food was the salad. The host told us to sit anywhere. We sat in the first booth on the left of the first aisle. We then waited over 8 minutes for a menu. We had to ask for them. He walked by us four or five times and would nod at us but gave no service. As I watched him grab menus and seat people and we still had nothing I was getting more and more annoyed. The man who brings the silverware and water to the table finally came over, looked at the empty table and went back where the water is and never came back. My wife ordered a mini meal. I asked her not to, but that's what she wanted. I've never ordered a mini meal. Yet I've gotten quite a few. Anytime my wife orders one I get one too. On every bill my wife's meal says mini, mine does not and yet I get it every time. I guess not the smartest people working in the kitchen. Between being ignored, having to ask for menus, silverware, and water and them getting my order wrong, it was not a pleasant visit. The food is not as good as it once was, usually the service is good, not today though. I asked the guy if there was a specials sheet for in the menu. He said if it isn't in there we don't have any. Just the two on the board. I asked the waitress who shook her head and said "John didn't make any." WOW!! I have noticed that John is usually in his office when he's there. Or he's eating in one of the booths with family or friends. We love John, but I don't think he's on top of running the diner. I'd hate to see it fail, but I foresee that happening if he doesnt get on top of his game. We're going to back off for a while and sincerely hope changes are made for the better.

Went here on a late Thursday eve for soup and a wrap. The split pea soup was tasty but not warm enough. The chicken fajita wrap was a little off and the fries that came with it were a little soggy. The coffee was good, however.

Kitchen messed up my dinner. I waited for another 20 minutes for my dinner while my husband ate. To them it was just like a "oh well, this happens". Cheesecake was awesome thou but 8.95 for a slice. Overall it was just a blah dining experience.

Seated promptly. Food came out fast and was delicious. We were even planning on ordering food to go but then we overheard our waitress who was one of two for the night talking badly about how messy my two kids were (my 9 month old just started solids). They knew we could hear them. It was in poor taste, especially because I cleaned up every last bit of food that made it to the ground (as I always do) and they clearly knew we overheard them. Never going back due to their mean comments. Such a poor experience and we spent $70 bucks (plus a 20% tip despite their comments).

As a diner, the experience fell short of expectations. Was charged an extra order of coffee for the second and third refill. Nowhere on the menu nor mentioned by the staff that refills were limited (especially for something as common as a black coffee). The pancake were undercooked. Sadly could not recommend this for future diners. Would recommend other options nearby.

My boyfriend and I came here for a quick bite out of town and this place was unsettling floors not cleaned, smell of the establishment absolutely not up to par, im sure the food was probably good but i for one, am not chancing it. I have been here many times. Each time the wait staff was horrible (rude, slow,) and the food was over priced. The food and service did not resemble the price. Oh, the hostess' are moody and not people friendly. And, I don't want to see the staff chewing gum or whistling their hearts out.

This is the worst diner in Kingston - if you’re looking for actual good hot food, go to Kings Valley diner. The wait staff here is incredibly rude and the food is nasty. The last time I was there, I was with my dad (who was fighting cancer) - I’ve worked in this industry before so I know the importance of tipping and I always tip unless there’s a serious problem. I did not tip that last time because they treated my father and I like second class citizens or something. The food wasn’t even cooked all the way through, and I ordered a sausage egg and cheese - sausage needs to be cooked all the way through. It’s pork. Please spare your intestines and go elsewhere.

The service wasn’t bad. The food on the other hand wasn’t great either unfortunately. My husband had ordered a turkey club panini and as he was going to take a bite into it he found beard hair in it and totally lost his appetite. And I had ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict and the crab cake itself was extremely greasy it covered the plate. I ate my food because I was hungry lol They didn’t charge us for my husbands food which was appreciated. This also wasn’t the first time something like this has happened to us here, but it will be the last time we go to Michael’s. We wish them well in the future, but Michael’s will definitely not be on our list for diner places in Kingston.

I'm vegetarian and saw they had an impossible burger on their Friday specials menu, after having an entire conversation with the server about fake meat and their impossible burger, I ordered the burger and I got it to go. I get back to my grandma's house and take one bite and realize it's real meat. I haven't had meat in over 5 years and it literally made me sick to my stomach. This has nothing to do with the server ( she was very apologetic) but everything to do with their kitchen and management. It's not even a fancy thing to have on the menu, even Burger King sells impossible hamburgers. Just don't want other vegetarian / vegans to make the same mistake I did, and maybe the restaurant should reconsider renaming it on their menu... This wouldn't have occurred at the old Michael's I remember...

Service is alright, not mean waitresses but not overly nice either. Ordered food and was send the wrong item. I decided to just go with it because it was busy and we were in a rush. Mine was a cold sandwich( I ordered a hot panini) and it tasted off so I didn't finish it. I got food poisoning that night into the next day. Used to love this place when I was younger, I don't plan on ever going back.

I’ve been to several diners all over NY and NJ and this one has to be the worst. Service was rushed by very impatient and unpleasant waitress. The diner was about half full and did not appear to be short staffed. I made about 3 simple requests from the waitress and it seemed to be a major imposition. Food. I had eggs, toasts and home fries. The home fries were greasy and not appealing and the toast was not crispy at all. Prices were average. In general I’d recommend elsewhere until this place improves.

We have come here often. The staff is always friendly but today the waitress was rude. She took our order and never came to ask if we needed anything. It was unexceptable. I understand being busy since i to am in food service but if u want repeat customers u need to take care of them

The food is fine, but when I received the bill, it listed the price as a total for me and a friend on it, even though we asked for and received separate bills. When I went to the register and presented the bill, the person automatically rang up up the higher amount and was not able to delete it from the credit card machine. Luckily, I had not put the credit card through yet. I've never seen a diner Bill like this before where they list the amount singly, then they list the amount directly under that for the total of the people in the group I was annoyed, ended up paying in cash, and I will not go back there.

Specifically ask about wheat or gluten and mentioned i can’t have either. Ordered a roast beef melt “wrap” on gluten free wrap later to find onion rings on the wrap after halfway eaten. Menu online didn’t break down what the wrap consisted of nor did the hostess know what it consisted of. Probably my fault for trusting someone else’s lack of knowledge. Food looked great other than that

We are visiting from another state and we were ready for some great food,ready the menu and I noticed you make pancakes from scratch..... Awesome waited as it was busy.... Coffee and tea to start....no issue with the wait for the food..... But you are busy and my food is barely warm when I get it.....Noel is the name on the receipt she never said her name when she came to the table..... I don't even mind that..... She was able to walk past our table 4 times never checking to see if everything was ok. So after sometime I asked for a Manager..... She said that there is not one here, so I expressed my issues to her...... Then I get nothing but excuses.... after she tried to justify the behavior.... We are so busy..,.( She was not so busy to check back in with the other tables she had we watched her) ..... She did eventually get a weak apology..... We get the check and go to the register...... only to find the bills don't match.....my receipt vs what the cashier is saying.....then I ask is there another tax..... Then she goes back to get the waitress..... Only for her to come and take a look she grabs the receipt and throws it in the trash prints another one and says I forgot to charge you for an extra tea ...... Now I don't know about how you think that is okay...... The food was amazing the service was not.... I have attached the picture of receipt....

Second time I've ordered taco salad and didn't get beef with it. I refund on door dash and only get $4 refund. I paid your restraunt $12 for the salad, the driver tip, etc. to only receive lettuce in a taco bowl. NEVER AGAIN WILL I ORDER FROM YOUR RESTRAUNT. INSANE INCOMPETENCE.
