What can I say but I love Billy G's. We ordered the French dip, the pork steak, a strawberry waffle, and a bacon cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. The pork steak was perfectly cooked, the burger was delicious, the sweet potato fries are amazing, and the French dip had a great au jus with the crispy roll. They were doing brunch at lunch time on a Friday so we were able to order a mimosa that you make yourself at the fruit and juice bar. We put strawberry and peach juice in ours with boozy gummy bears which was incredible. The staff is friendly, quick, and accommodating. I know there a lot of choices near them, but I highly recommend trying them when you are in Kirkwood.
Jack t was an amazing server. He was very polite willing to explain. The menu. he took the time for us to feel like a valued customer, so I would say there's a wonderful place to eat. Food was promptly served. drinks was never empty.Atmosphere is great. great value for the money.Highly recommend with ten plus stars
Great food. Server was very kind and always on top of everything. It was busy as lunch but still easy to hear and communicate with my group.
My favorite brunch spot! I forgot to call and make a reservation earlier in the week for my birthday brunch so I ended up calling Thursday, knowing I might be SOL. However the host said they would have to speak to the manager and call me back because they were packed already with reservations. Well Victoria did her thing because they got us in! Amazing staff and delicious food!
Classic American bar with a nice patio and fire pit..many varieties of draft beer. Chili is the best in the neighborhood..! High seating, low seating plus bar seating..
Very good neighborhood restaurant! Menu varied so it can meet many desires. Great patio and popular place for groups to meet at lunch! Family of companies is consistent with food and service.
The atmosphere! The place was rocking when I walked up, I knew it was going to be a good time. The live music entertainment. We sat in the patio, fire everywhere for warmth. TVs, several bars. Nice crowd. Server was wonderful and accommodating. Food was amazing. Of course the margarita was on deck, no complaints. Definitely check this establishment out!
Loved this place. Its one of my new favorites. Great atmosphere and staff.
Melanie is our server. She is awesome. She fixed our out of balance table. She knows the menu and she made our tea sweet just the way we wanted it. Billy G’s has a great atmosphere. We sat outside. It was wonderful. This is a great “date night” perfect place.
Last night was the 2nd time I've eaten dinner here. The food, service and atmosphere are fantastic! They had lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The only negative is parking, we had to park a couple blocks away.
What a great place! They had a great drink choice and wide-ranging menu of sandwiches, burgers and more. Our server was amazing. We had to catch a train (Amtrak is right around the corner) and only had so long to eat and she made sure we had our food and we were about to eat and make the train. She and the kitchen staff made our day. In addition, the food is great! Big props. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Kirkwood and I'm a little jealous I don't live close by; this would be a regular place.
Trashed Wings with fries, Chicken Alfredo and Ravioli; very yummy! 10/10 would recommend
The food was delicious and our server was great! Even thought it was super busy, our service was top notch!
One of my favorite places to eat! Their trashed wings are amazing, the service is always good. There is usually a wait for a table, but it’s definitely worth the wait! Every drink I’ve tried from Bloody Mary to frozen strawberry margarita is really good. The patio is one of the best and their decor is really cute.
Service was great! Our server arrived promptly with water, took food orders and it came out much quicker than expected. He was kind and even remembered my name from my card when thanking us to come in. As far as food. Trashed wings and tuna apps are great! House dressing on the salad is a must. Husband had chicken spiedini and he loved it.
This afternoon, while I was lounging around my cave of an apartment after work, an angry spirit popped up out of nowhere and threatened to evict me from my couch if I didn't leave voluntarily. I mean, just because I've been a hermit for the past two weeks, working, sleeping, and reading a few books, doesn't mean I should be kicked out for the evening. But hey, the angry spirit seemed to have a point since I hadn't seen the sun in a week. So, the spirit and I decided to embark on a new adventure and try some new food. Our journey led us to Kirkwood, where we stumbled upon the loudest place in town - Billy G's. This restaurant was a mix of indoors and patio, with live music blaring and a bustling atmosphere. After a being told our table would be a 30-minute wait (which felt like a win for a Friday night), we settled at the bar and ordered some girly, fruity drinks. As we listened to the tunes, my phone buzzed to let us know our table was ready. We followed our guide to a cozy booth at the back, where our waitress greeted us with specials and recommendations. After a humorous debate with the spirit about beans (apparently be deal-breaker along with premonition of where i would spend the night if i ate them, the couch), I settled on a Reuben sandwich for me, a fish sandwich for the spirit, and some wings as appetizers. The wings and drinks appear and vanished in no time, and our sandwiches finally arrived. As we marveled at the gargantuan size of the fish sandwich and placed a cheeky bet on the spirit's ability to conquer it, we dug in eagerly. The Ruben was a revelation, the pastrami like a gift from the heavens, the Swiss cheese perfectly gooey, and the sauerkraut packed a tangy punch. After I had finished. I couldn't tear my eyes away as the spirit polished off the entire sandwich with gusto, declaring it scrumptious. Alas, I lost the wager and had to face the consequences of driving us back home. All in all, Bill G's proved to be a charming spot for an evening out. The food and drinks hit the spot, the live music added a nice touch, and the vibe was as warm and welcoming as can be. I had a blast and can't wait to return for round two.
Delicious food with large portions. Sweet potato fries were the best I've ever had. Everyone liked their meal, cob salad, big burger, and smoked turkey sandwich with sourdough bread.
Excellent staff food & locals. Sit at the bar & watch your favorite sporting event. Burgers salad’s & the tuna appetizer were outstanding. Easy parking too!!
We actually arrived a little before 5pm on a Saturday, but the weather was beautiful so this place was hopping! We'd never been here before, but the other reviews I had seen suggested it was going to be a quality visit. My wife wanted to sit on the patio, and it got a little chilly once the sun went down. But, it would be perfect for any day when it's over 70 degrees or so. They use a texting system instead of those silly buzzers - to let you know when your table is ready. Very convenient and cool. ALL of the staff we encountered during our entire visit were friendly. From hostesses to staff walking by, to managers who checked on us all the way to our super-cute waitress. It was a great experience. Plates were cleaned from the table promptly, drinks were kept full and the food was fabulous. We were there for our anniversary and opted for an appetizer with our meals. Everything was great. I will gladly go back. :)
Everything here was good. The service was a little slow but not bad. Would differently eat here again.
Our server was Bri (she needs a raise definitely) and she was the most pleasant server I've had in a long time. It was very refreshing. I was running a little late and the rest of my party was already there. Bri never once acted annoyed or frustrated. She engaged with us the entire time. She was a delight. She checked on us, provided refills, suggested food and was just overall amazing. The food was really good as well. I had Shrimp and Grits and I took my leftovers home. My mom who isn't a fan of Shrimp and Grits even enjoyed them and said she'd go there for those, so good job Billy G's.
Just had a fantastic lunch here at Billy G. Kirkwood. The place was hopping on a Friday afternoon however, the staff was so friendly. I got a table right away. I had a fantastic Salmon Niciose salad. My server Deena was great , so helpf and friendly.
Great food, excellent patio, fun atmosphere, and very lively location. Make sure to plan ahead, this place gets packed and the wait times are crazy long. We went back here for my birthday and there was a 45 minute wait for the patio on a Wednesday. Worth it. We waited at the bar and met some very nice people. Once we were to our table we were ready to order food and refresh our drinks. Geoff was an excellent server and he took great care of us. We had the chicken Florentine pizza which was delicious.
Nice variety of food to choose from. Our waitress Hannah was friendly and took good care of our group. The food was tasty.
It will be good! Family oriented and also a get date place. Small groups of couples will also enjoy the atmosphere and food choices. I look forward to eating there again soon.
We're from NW IN. Down to St. Louis for New Year's. Wanted to find a good restaurant. Billy G's was the answer. Sooo goood!!! Trashed wings, salad and hamburger. Can't go wrong here. Superb.. our server was so attentive to our needs. Never had to ask her for one thing. So cool. This was definitely a 5 star experience. Ya gotta go. Thank you to our server Hannah or Anna. Not sure which. Bad hearing. Will definately be going back when in St. Louis.
My work team and I ate here and everything was phenomenal; my personal favorites were the Chicken Spedini and Modiga, but the Pizza was also phenomenal (I recommend asking for the crust to be extra crispy. The trashed wings and Toasted Ravioli were incredible as were the pretzel bites. For the side salad their house italian was terrific and the side noodles I recommend the pink sauce! The next time I am back in StL I will certainly be coming back!
Billy G's is pretty good. I would say, it's definitely a go to spot in Kirkwood. Huge area to eat inside or outside. I believe they have live music sometimes outside which is always a plus. We ordered the Chicken Parmesan which came with a Caesar salad. My fiancée ordered the Cajun Pasta Salad. The salad was by far my favorite item that I ordered. I really enjoyed it and was very good quality. The chicken parm was decent, but the red sauce seemed a bit basic and almost just like tomato sauce dumped on a plate. It wasn't bad, but did the job. Adequate food. If you're looking for a chill spot with decent food, this place is good. Chicken Parmesan - 6/10 Pasta - 5/10 Caesar Salad - 9/10 Cajun Pasta Salad - 7/10 Billy G-s - 7/10
Had the brisket here and it was surprisingly tender and had good flavor. Good outdoor area and service was good too
Great place to enjoy happy hour on the patio. The wait staff was wonderful, and everything we tried was fabulous! The patio ambiance is fantastic for a girls night or date. They would have received five stars if the hostess hadn't been annoyed. we showed up, and she had to work.
I enjoy Billy G’s- and a 4 star for a couple of missteps. Atmosphere- Spacious enough for larger parties, yet intimate for lunch meetings, date night, or solo. The inside has TV’s - fun to watch sporting events. Patio is amazing with umbrella tables to enjoy summertime . Covered / heated during the winter. Prepare for a wait during peak hours, weekends, make a reservation for 6 or more. Drinks Full outdoor bar- 1st strawberry daiquiri was overkill on salt - the second was dangerously delicious. Replaced quickly with respect and promptness. Meal The portions are very large that can be shared or plan to have leftovers the next day. Veggie Power Bowl- I have diet restrictions so the bland dish was accepted. Also a good choice if you prefer something on the light side. BBQ - Some of the reviews mention the BBQ. But be aware only served Thursday- Sunday. Surprisingly the food from the kitchen came out quickly considering how busy they were. Staff - Bru was the best ever. Letting us know special for the evening and giving us plenty of time to look over menu. Giving us time to relax without someone hovering around us. But, very clearly watching for our needs. Our son is a chef and he said he would return.
The vibes are cool and I believe the patio is dog friendly. The main entrees looked delicious, but I personally ordered pretzel bites as I was not terribly hungry; they were kind of cold and the cheese sauce was not super melty when I got it, but all in all, it wasn't terrible. There is street parking out front and then a small shared lot across the street.
Great restaurant in Kirkwood. Extensive menu seemed like 8 pages. A happy hour and drink menu. It took a long time to just read it. They are slow so definitely get a drink first. Definitely worth the trip to Kirkwood.
So, the trick part here is just finding a place to park. This is the happening spot in town so parking is a challenge, at least during the times you would expect. We got right and had a seat, I thought we were going to have to wait so a big thumbs up there! Staff was great and on point even though it was all hands on deck. Wait time for food and drinks were again great considering the place was packed. We understand why it's a popular place as the food was top notch! Pricing was right where you would expect and well worth it. If you in the area and have the time be sure to check em out! 👍
First time to Billy G's. Parking wasn't too bad, but it is something to consider when heading to historic downtown Kirkwood. Plenty of seating inside and outside the restaurant. We took a seat at the bar and our drink order was quickly taken/served. I ordered half-rack of ribs with pit beans and potato salad. It took a reasonable amount of time to get our food out. They weren't crazy busy, but busy for lunchtime on a nice Saturday. The ribs were super tender, with the bones pulling out so easy. You definitely get that "smokey" flavor coming through with each bite. The sides were good, but I wish the pit beans had more going on, just kinda plain. Overall, for a first time experience, it was good. The atmosphere is lively and very comfortable. Will try another visit in the future to enjoy the outside seating. Update: We recently returned for a Thursday evening dinner to enjoy the outdoor seating. Although we didn't have the opportunity (30 to 40 minutes wait time)to dine on the patio, we chose to be seated inside towards the back area of the restaurant where our table was right next to the opened patio doors, very nice. I ordered the brisket sandwich and it was so good. Brisket was tender, smoke flavor coming through with each bite, really good bbq. I would recommend the brisket sandwich (available Thursday through Sunday). 10/10/24 Update: We celebrated our birthdays a couple of nights ago at Billy G's. What a wonderful time! We sat outside at the bar and enjoyed how we were able to relax, no pressure to hurry our stay. We started off with the Toasted Ravioli, soooo good. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan and Cyndi ordered their Garlic Stir-Fry. Both dishes were delicious! We enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere and certainly plan on doing this again.
Great food. Good service. One of the most beautiful patios in st louis. Casual. Family friendly. Quaint environment. Full bar. Can't wait to go back. Recommend their bruschetta. Wonderful house salad and dressing. Chicken modega was great. Huge nachos that were great. Loved the turtle cheesecake too!! Good portion sizes. Good prices.
Tried this restaurant with some friends. Had some nice fireplaces and TV on the patio while we waited for our table. It took quite a while to get our food, but it was crowded. Had the pork steak and was happy with the choice. They even had a non-alcoholic beer on the menu that I had never had before.
If you’re looking for a swankier sports bar, Billy G’s in Kirkwood is the place to be. It has a nice, open patio area for when the weather is fair and a decked out indoor area w tons of TVs. The bar looks really cool with colorful displays. Jordan, our server, was absolutely delightful and the service was splendid. I think I got 6 Diet Pepsi refills without asking once. The food and drinks came out in a timely manner even though the restaurant was PACKED when we were there. I got the Spinach Chicken Salad, which is great if you want a large salad with heavy dressing. I’m usually getting salads as a lighter, healthier option, but I can’t say it was either of those. It was definitely one thing: delicious. Seems to be your typical sports bar menu with tons of creative options that are heavy and large. You gotta know what you’re getting yourself into. Overall, a great time in a cool looking place!
Sat at the bar and shared a couple appetizers. We had the sesame crusted tuna and the backyard chicken wings. The tuna was served like sushi with toasted sesame seeds, soy ginger sauce and honey wasabi. I give it 4 out of 5 stars. The backyard chicken wings were 1lb of BBQ dry rubbed & charred on the grill. I’d give this 4 out of 5 stars. Excellent service at the bar. Street parking in front of the restaurant.
The pizza is very localized: thin crust, provel cheese, and white onions (which likely caramelized in the oven). The beer offerings are local also, with representation of some microbreweries. There's outdoor seating with gas fire pits. There are TVs but they're difficult to see. The salad was disappointing: the parmesan cheese was heavy and didn't taste like parmesan reggiano. The large pizza will serve four adults.
We are constantly looking for new places to try the food, get to know the folks, and check out the atmosphere. Billy G's, obviously ranked high on the chart. First off, parking. There is parking in the front and additional parking across the street. My only complaint is that there are only 2 or 3 handicap spots. We walked in and immediately got seats at the bar. The bartenders (we had two) were both friendly and fast. My husband ordered Half a Rack of Ribs, and I ordered Tutto Mare. It took a bit for the food to come out, but when it did, my husbands Ribs were very good. My order was Tortellini Prosciutto, and I ordered Tutto Mare, so there's that. The bartender was quick to resolve and ordered the right menu item. I had them box it because my husband was nearly done. I did taste the Tortellini, and it was really good, just not what I ordered. When the Tutto Mare came out, my husband and I grabbed a bite, and it was exceptional. So, 4 stars in every category, we will be back. Thank you Billy G's!
This was my first time eating here. I live the atmosphere. It was Sunday brunch and very busy. I was with a bigger crowd of people so the service was a little slow but....it was busy. I would like to come back when its slower and quieter. I LOVE Kirkwood. I had a breakfast sandwich and a bellini.
04/27/2024 On a positive note the atmosphere and our service was fantastic. We were promptly seated, our drink order taken and given menus. I ordered the Beer Battered Fish and Chips. I chose fries instead of chips. My husband and mother in law had the BBQ ribs. When the food finally arrived, I took one bite of the fish and it was soggy on the outside and cold in the middle. Glad our server came back quickly to ask how everything was. I told him the issue, he immediately took my plate and within a few minutes came back with it. The kitchen had placed it back in the fryer to crisp and heat the fish up. By that time the fries were cold and limp. They were extremely busy so I let it go. The fish had zero flavor, no flavor to the coating, just bland. The dinner was supposed to come with a salad or soup which I never received either. The slaw was so-so. I barely touched any of my food. On a positive note, the ribs are amazing. My husband ordered a full rack and shared them with me. I wish I had ordered the ribs. I tasted his broccoli salad it was good as were the beans. We do not live in the area so chances are we will not be back but, if by some chance we do, I will be having the ribs. I do not recommend the fish and chips dinner at all.
The toasted ravs were good but the french dip was sooo over cooked & just mediocre. And the fries were so hard they were really not good. Our serve was great but obvsly having to cover a lot of ground around the restaurant. Atmosphere is awesome, just wish the food was better esp for the price.
We've been here several times. Tonight was less than what we've experienced before. When did you switch from sweet potato fries to waffle things? They were hard and tasteless. We will try again, just won't try the tasteless waffle things.
I've come here a couple of times and each time it has taken around 30 minutes to be seated... even when the restaurant is nearly completely empty, where we end up being seated at one of the empty spots we saw when we first arrived. Food is fine, though on the more expensive side of normal, and the restuarant's aesthetics are nice. If they can fix the horrendous service (mostly with the hostess and seating management), they may be a decent place to eat at on an occasion.
The ambiance was fun and the drinks were great, but the food and service left much to be desired. Our meals took so long to arrive that some in our group had to take theirs to go. The food itself was just okay, definitely not worth the wait.
Well.. it’s gone down hill a lot. Which is a bummer to say the least because the space and outdoor dining is really nice! The wait for the table was fast. Service was really slow. The kitchen looked backed up. Burned fries. Food was only ok, more like a small twin bar then a trendy restaurant. It was good at least a year ago good wise. Not sure what happen. But probably won’t go back any time soon. Bummed
Originally ordered the eggplant and the server came back after 20-30 minutes to let me know they were out. I then ordered the poke veggie bowl thinking it would have hemp seeds or some sort of sauce or veggie protein.. it was rice, soy sauce, carrots and broccoli. I took it home because I couldn’t eat it. I added coconut oil, hemp seeds and cilantro lime sauce.
I was back in Kirkwood for the weekend at a private city event in honor of my grandfather, who was mayor years ago. Heard Billy G's had great toasted ravioli so I stopped in Saturday afternoon by myself. Bar was packed but lots of high tops available, so I asked the hostess first and grabbed one by the window. A waiter rolls by and I ask him for a menu. Nothing happens. Then this girl who works there comes over later and tells me I can't sit there and have to sit at the bar... with no seats available. Pretty crazy for an "upscale" restaurant! The atmosphere is awesome at Billy's but the service really sucks and I never ordered food. If this ever happens to you at Billy's, go over one block to Mike Duffy's. The folks there are super friendly and the St Louis rav was the best I had on my trip.
