We are on a short road trip up to Klamath from bay area and found Log Cabin Diner. This place is a delight. Cheery atmosphere, comfortable seating, immaculately tidy, great food. One cinnamon sugar pancake is an inch thick - you don't see that every day! Best place we've found so far on our road trip!
This was a perfect place to fuel up before a day of exploring. Great breakfast food and the owner is the nicest most effervescent person. My husband and I each got breakfast sandwiches and split a chocolate chip pancake and I am SO glad we did it giant and fluffy and delicious.
This place is amazing. The food is incredible, the service is great, and they really care about making sure every visitor has great good to go along with your hike. Must stop.
My husband and I stopped here for breakfast on our roadtrip through. We were immediately greeted by amazing staff and the owner. The blackberry cinnamon roll was DELICIOUS as was our loaded tots and biscuits and gravy. We will definitely be back and I cannot recommend them enough! If you ever need a great breakfast with friendly staff that treats you like family look no further!
It's a simple old diner with a simple menu. Very friendly server. Nice hearty food. Nothing fancy. Simple but delicious diner food. I would visit again. Also, kids will love the couple of emus you can feed.
We were thrilled to discover that the Log Cabin is still serving up breakfast, and what a delightful surprise it was! Tucked just off the highway and right across from the iconic Drive-Thru Tree, this cozy little diner is a hidden gem worth the stop. From the moment we walked in, we felt like locals thanks to the warm, welcoming service. The space is cozy and rich with history and charm, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a hearty breakfast. Speaking of which there aren't any small portions here. Be prepared to have goodies for later. The cinnamon rolls and cobbler? Absolutely to die for. And the biscuits and gravy? Dangerously delicious. Everything is homemade and simply makes you feel good, like breakfast should. If you're passing through, don’t miss this place. The Log Cabin serves up some of the best darn breakfast around, and it’ll leave you full, happy, and already planning your next visit.
Excellent service! Best food we found in the area. They were able to accommodate our large party on short notice eventhough they were a little busy. Our entire party was happy with everything we ate and there prices were great. Also, their gravy is amazing and the hashbrowns were cooked perfectly crispy!
I had the breakfast french toast with sunny side up eggs and 2 bacon strips. The french toast my favorite part I was super hungry after a long drive and ate everything :) my friend had pancakes and eggs but did not finish. I also want to mention the employees were so sweet their hospitality made me feel enthusiastic to explore the area and wander about the trees :) and it is very clean (they let us sit anywhere! Some places choose for you)
I’ve been driving past this place multiple times a week for years and always assumed it wouldn’t be very good. I finally stopped with my daughter for breakfast after a camping trip and couldn’t have been more impressed! The waitress is very friendly and kind. Food was prepared quickly and most importantly, was delicious! We had loaded tater tots and cinnamon-sugar pancakes. We enjoyed both and the family quickly finished the left overs we brought home.
This is an excellent little diner to stop at if you are in the area. We were spending the day at Redwood NP so stopped in on our way heading north to the Jedediah Smith portion of the park. Prices are fair considering there is little else in the area. Service was incredible with the whole diner being handled by one hard working and very pleasant woman. They let the kids feed the emus in the pasture next door which was an unexpected and fun treat. Chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, and tots were all great.
The food there is soo good! My husband and I drove through to visit the Redwoods for our 23 years honeymoon lol We had the Philly cheese steak sandwich and the turkey club then shared. Soo good and the fries are soo yummy and crispy. We enjoyed it so much we had to stop by one more time and enjoy the same meal. The staff are sooo amazing and friendly and Bobby is soo sweet! It was funny she even remembered us when we came back. What a cute lovely place. We would definitely come back again. A must try! Thanks everyone!
We loved this diner so much we stopped every day we were up north & went out of our way the last day. Even though it was winter & the menu was “limited” there were PLENTY of options. We didn’t have any trouble finding a seat and the food came fast. The pancakes are HUGE and the eggs are always cooked perfectly.
While in Klamath California for a wedding, stopped here for breakfast! Oh my Goodness if you have the chance, definitely go there to eat. I had the Denver Omelette with Home fried potatoes, and Biscuits and Gravy. Coffee! Huge plate of food. I could only eat half of it. The waitress was super sweet, the diner was beautiful and very very clean. I haven't been here for 3 years and was like coming home!!
We recently visited the redwoods and stopped at log cabin diner for a quick bite and a coffee on our first day. We were surprised by the quality of food at that place, it was way beyond our expectations. On our way back, we thought maybe we were too hungry and hence the food tasted that great. So we went back again the next day, this time not that hungry, and with high expectations. And we loved the food again. Their klamath burger is one of the best burgers I ever had (ordered with onion rings). And the servers are very nice people as well. (Sorry I forgot the nice lady's name - the one who loves the show Transplant). The place is clean with lots of parking spots. I will definitely come back when we visit the redwoods again.
I came here about 3 years ago on a backpacking trip and we stopped here one morning. And the food and atmosphere was phenomenal. I was just telling some friends about it and was like oh man I need to make a review of this place. I cant recommend it enough. The staff was so friendly and accommodating and the food was top notch. Guy fieri would approve. Plus they have a black lab.
This was maybe the best diner I’ve ever been to. Scratch that – this is definitely the best diner I’ve ever been to. We came here for breakfast two days in a row, and since being back home from our trip I think often of how I wish we could go back and eat there again. We tried a lot of things on the menu and every single one was fantastic. Sherri (might be spelling that wrong, sorry) was kind, welcoming, and just wonderful to interact with. I can’t recommend this place enough. Pro tip – get ONE biscuit at a time. They’re a lot larger than most.
We happened to stop by on the last day of the season. Sherry, the owner took great care of us. We had a great chat and enjoyed some really good comfort food. Super charming little spot with rich history to check out on the walls.
Decidedly local restaurant known locally for its breakfast. It's a traditional diner in that the waitress tales your order and and brings it out to you. I went with the grub read breakfast - Navajo fry bread covered in scrambled eggs your choice of protein - we went with chicken, covered with a country gravy. It was huge. We split it and still found ourselves full - the fry bread was perfect, just incredible. This meal probably killed us a little bit it fine - we will die happier for having had it. It's just that good, sinful good. Highly recommend!
The only place to stop off the 101. Great food, generous portions and the happiest waitress anywhere on earth. Country dining at its best. Homemade biscuit!!!! Tater tots!!!
Extremely friendly service and really delicious food. Kids approved the pancakes and cinnamon roll. We loved the loaded tots and the fry bread. Highly recommend!
Google shows it just provides breakfast and I want to update the time slot is 8am-1pm now. It also provides supper now. Attracted by the big air tube man and the restaurant options are really limited in Klamath. Therefore we decided to have a try. It is really good. They are running out of chicken today, so we substitute it in Alfredo to smoked sausage. Everything is really good.
I highly recommend this diner!! Okay, southerners, pay attention. This little diner has southern sweet tea!!! I got the Klamath burger and fries. My wife got the blt. This is some of the best food you will put into your mouth. The staff was friendly and very good!!
We went to the Trees of Mystery and got hungry. I found the Log Cabin Diner and decided to try it out because of the Google reviews. When we arrived we were pleasantly greeted by the staff. The atmosphere was quaint and VERY clean. We had hummingbirds right out our window and a couple of emu's out another window! They had a good selection of menu options and good prices. They have breakfast and lunch items. Sandwiches, burgers, salads, delicious sweet potato fries, and much more. Lots of breakfast options! Our food came out quick and was absolutely delicious! Ok, now the staff and owner. This made our stop absolutely perfect. Sherry, the owner, was extremely friendly and has a wonderful personality. You can tell how much pride she has in her diner. She had us (all 10) laughing hysterically! Our waitress was top notch! It's not always easy with big groups and she handled us like a champ! We 100% recommend the Log Cabin Diner! Thanks Sherry and staff!
Ok. At first I was like, “No way!” to my wife about stopping here. It looked a bit too local of a place for me. Yet, as soon as I walked into the place I felt at home. The waitresses were super nice, and it had a great diner/dive feel...almost like it should be on a Guy Fieri show 🙂. Now to the food. It’s great. Classic diner food. Great, crispy bacon. Juicy sausage and fluffy pancakes. And possibly the best chicken tenders I’ve ever had. Overall, just a great and surprising experience here in small Klamath, CA Update May 2025: Even though the menu has gotten smaller and more focused, the service is just as friendly as ever and the food is still deliciously on point!
So glad we decided to make the drive to come here for breakfast instead of stopping about 40 minutes south where the next restaurant was. I feel elevated from the food. Hit the comfort spot. Felt like I was at my parents house in country Texas. Sit anywhere! Coffee served right away. And keeps getting filled. I got the biscuits and gravy with a short stack of pancakes. Matt got the biscuits and gravy with the big breakfast - 3 eggs, hash browns, bacon and he ordered a side of sour dough bread. If you like peanut butter with your pancakes, ask for some! You’ll get some creamy Jif in a to-go container 🙏 Our order came out to $35. We payed in cash. The waitress was just delightful and made us feel right at home. She asked if we were from the area or if we were passing by, even though we’re clearly not locals. She had a wonderful spirit about her.
Best restaurant in Northern California and I can say that because I'm now in southern california. The food the atmosphere you just feel like you've walked into Grandma's Kitchen and was invited to sit down and let her do the cooking. Everything we had for breakfast was fresh homemade and tasted delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast or lunch I know you will not be disappointed and if you get a chance have a talk with the waitress she's absolutely charming and delightful.
It was by chance that we stepped off 101 at Klamath, in the Redwood corridor to explore and boy was it a great find! We were somewhat skeptical from the look of the run down buildings next to it, however that all vanished once we were inside. Warm welcome, cozy ambiance, open seating, clean restrooms and good food is what characterized this diner. We ordered the veggie breakfast burritos and it was delicious and hot. Our host Sherry was attentive yet unobtrusive, patient and took good care of us. We were too busy eating, so no food pics. I wish they didnt serve salsa and sour cream in disposable plastic cups, hope it's not the case the next time we stop by :)
Such great food! I was blown away. Amazing diner atmosphere. Some of the nicest kindest people working there that I’ve come across.

Thank you for the yummy late lunch you served us today. Hubby had the beef dip and I had the breakfast scramble, which was very filling after a good hike. Our server was really nice and efficient even though the diner was really busy. :-)

Chocolate chip pancakes here are great - so thick and fluffy. And the breakfast sandwich is great too. The waitress was super friendly and makes it a fun atmosphere. Would certainly recommend this place
Great service, our waitress who may have been the owner/operator was wonderful. Fast service, clean facilities. Even gave us our refill of coffee to go so we could stay caffeinated on our way to see the redwoods. Definitely stop here to fuel your bodies up before enjoying the beautiful surrounding areas.
Absolutely fantastic food and the friendliest service! The cinnamon rolls are down right delectable, the cinnamon sugar pancakes are a show stopper, and the biscuits and gravy were legitimately the best I have ever had. Proportions are quite generous, so bring your appetite! The price was also very reasonable. This restaurant, and the server Sherri in particular, were a definite highlight of our family vacation. Thank you again for the wonderful food and service!
9/27/2025: This place is a MUST! Come hungry. Quick & friendly service, huge portion sizes, and delicious menu options. My favorites so far are the fluffy chocolate chip pancakes and the breakfast bowl with tots. The gravy can't be beat! This is a classic diner experience located right next to the highway. The dining area and bathrooms are super clean. Clearly a lot of love has gone into this place and you'll feel it as soon as you're greeted at the door. We can't wait to come back during our camping trip next year!

Really cute breakfast place..old diner feel. the owner/server is so sweet!! Huge portions, could use seasoning to the biscuits n gravy..that is my only complaint/suggestion. Only open until 1pm, so get there early
The best place to eat lunch and breakfast in Klamath in a classic diner with great food. I was hungry after visiting the Trees of Mystery and stopped in for lunch. I ordered a short stack of pancakes, a chicken hoagie (no bacon, onion, or Swiss cheese), and iced tea. The lunch menu has burgers, hoagie, and sandwiches. Breakfast includes fried egg sandwiches, pancakes, omelets, french toast, and much more. I received my order after a short wait and the pancakes were light and fluffy with good taste. The grilled chicken was not overcooked and the hoagie was great tasting. Located off of Hwy 101 at the Klamath Bridge on CA -169 (Klamath Glen Road) near the Tour Thru Tree. A great place to grab a bite to eat in a classic diner setting with friendly service, a menu with a number of options, and great food.
What a great little find! We were taking photos in the redwoods and got hungry. I found this place on Google with good reviews, so we decided to try it out. Felt like a locals place with great service and food. The chicken strips aww probably some of the best I've ever had. There's a couple emus outside that they gave us bread to go feed.
Very cute, quaint, prices are alright. They currently don't sell baked goods but are thinking about it in the near future. Food was not my favorite and both my husband and I ended up not feeling well after eating. Child's chicken strips have a sort of fish batter instead of the regular crispy and it was pretty good. The biscuits and gravy is made in-house and a very friendly vibe in there. Very child friendly place to stop. Drive through tree is right across the street. You can watch emus outside while you eat.
I will first say, the staff was extremely friendly and I loved the Emu's outside! However, we were pretty disappointed with the quality of the food, overall. The French Dip sandwich was the skimpiest thing I have had in a while. The BLT had overripe tomatoes, which made it very wet.
The food smelled wonderful. Cute place.. Unfortunately, we never got to try it. The place was busy, and we waited patiently for an hour and 5 minutes for a 1 breakfast and a hamburger. We were okay with this at first. Then, when we saw a table be served after we came in, and they were served their food before us... my husband said, "That's it, let's go." We ended up at Chester's Chicken.
