Great breakfast. No frills - just really good food. A bit hard to find if you don't know it's there. Seems to be geared more toward locals, which I can certainly appreciate. Being tourists who love to try local food, we were pretty disappointed at the other restaurants in Trinidad. This place hit the spot. Just wish we'd tried it before our last day in town, and not wasted time on the other places.
Glad to have found the Seascape. Great setting overlooking their own little private beach and the pier. Friendly staff and well prepared dishes. Fish & Chips were fresh, hot and tasty. Shrimp Louie, nice! We will definitely head here when next through this way. Haven't tried their breakfast but I would like to.
Food was excellent!! The clam chowder and crab cocktail,so fresh and delicious!
The seascape restaurant is a place I grew up in over the span of my lifetime . Its always been a great spot to eat great food. Seating can be a long wait but its always worth standing ir walking around. And you wont mind the wait.. You can walk the long pier on trinidad bay or take a walk on the beach...admire the quirky art by bill daniels a local artist to Trinidad California. Order the blueberry or blackberry pancakes .. They are filled with berrys inside and out....so good! Or the famous off menu item the tia...potatoes and cheese sour cream and pico with bacon or sausage. Its a filling dish. Its an expensive place to eat but thats because they dont skimp on the quality abd quantity of food . Fish is fresh and coffee is always hot.
This place is great because of the location and view. The prices are a little high but that's understandable. My only complaint was the coffee. For the price they charge they should buy better than Farmers Brothers, or at least use more of it. It was so weak it wasn't worth drinking.
Seated quickly on a Friday after 6 and I'm convinced my fish and chips were into the fryer 30 seconds after ordering. Piping hot and received in record time. Great staff. Great food.
Great location, delicious food. U must try the sourdough pancakes (over 100 yr old starter).
One of the best breakfast places we have ever been to. My husband's chicken fried steak was perfect, seasoned well and the gravy was spectacular. I had the fisherman's breakfast and added sausage and the homemade blackberry syrup. The sausage was well seasoned, and the back eery syrup is literally the best syrup that I have ever had in my life. The fresh fruit chunks, and the fact that it was served in abundance and warm was absolutely extraordinary. If you are sleeping on this place, you are missing out! I also had a delicious Bloody Mary which was just enough spice to have a kick but not burn, but perfect flavor overall. 10/10 recommend.
The food was nothing to write home about, but the view... I've never been to a restaurant with such a gorgeous setting. I felt like I was cast in Pete's Dragon. The original Disney movie with the animated dragon, not the garbage remake. This place could have served Taco Bell tacos and I would still go back every time I'm in the area. You should too! I guess I'm being a bit unfair though, I ordered the clam chowder bread bowl and loved it. I'm not sure what they dusted the sourdough bread with. Some red seasoning, it was divine. I offered to share a bite with each of my family members and had to fight them to get it back!
Beautiful views, had the fish & chips, very good. A lady beside us was having pie & it looked amazing.
Seascape is situated right next to the wharf, and offers a great view of the water. The clam chowder was very much to my liking, I prefer a thicker chowder, and it delivered. The fried calamari was perfectly cooked, not at all overcooked/rubbery. I had the bacon cheeseburger and fries. Their fries are fried with panko crumbs, I think, with the little bits baked on, and very crunchy. The special today was $20 for a whole dungeness crab, can't beat that! The cooked crab was served cold, which was a first for me, but it was also perfectly cooked. I had a blackberry wine spritzer that was tasty and light. I will definitely be back.
Old school fishing town Cafe on the pier! Watch dock workers and fishermen unload crabs, surf scoters feeding under the pilings, and enjoy reasonably priced food and great service. Affordable and a bit of local working culture. $15 for a whole crab the day I was there. Beaches on both sides of the point plus the light house hike just down the hill from the Telonicher marine lab and Katy's Smoke shack.
I’ve been here a couple of times with my family, and the food is always pretty good. I especially love their blueberry pancakes, and everyone else really enjoys the skillets. Definitely a place we’d go back to!
Excellent tasty food delivered FAST! Super personable staff. If I lived here, I would defiantly be a regular!
Nestled in a tiny, protected cove next to the commercial fishing dock, this seafood restaurant in Trinidad, Oregon, has perfect ambience and delicious food. We sat outside in the bright sun and chilly breeze, watching the waves lap against the small adjacent beach. We ordered the Dungeness Crab sandwich and it was perfect, filled with large, hand-picked chunks of this world-renowned delicacy. The locally-sourced, fresh-out-of-the-water crab is delicate and slightly sweet. It doesn’t get any better than this.
We had breakfast here - the view of the coast was beautiful and we enjoyed watching the fishermen report to work. The atmosphere feels local, low-key, and quiet. We ordered way more food than we needed — portions are BIG!— and it was all delicious. I recommend the biscuits and gravy skillet, as well as the pancakes. Make sure to take time to walk down the little trail to the beach. Wish we could go back again to try dinner!
Fantastic service and the food was great as well. The sourdough chowder bowl was tasty and priced well. My husband had the half portion fish and chips and really liked it, he said the batter was perfect, not too heavy. The Redwood Stout was really good as well. We'll be back for more seafood fare next time we are in Trinidad.
Perfect place to enjoy a meal and a lovely view. It is located right by the ocean with access to the beach. Service was very kind, and food came out quickly. We had the fish and chips (full order), a bowl of clam chowder, and the surfrider (country fried steak skillet). The chowder was great, full of clams, and very creamy. The fish and chips nice large pieces and not heavy battered, the fish was the main star. It was all about the gravy for the skillet, everything else on it was the normal for country fried steak. Was told by many this is the place to go for a good meal in Trinidad.
We came by mid-afternoon for just dessert on a rainy day at the coast. It was delicious, clearly homemade. Staff was very nice. Everything was clean and inviting/cozy. We plan to go back for lunch for sure! Edit: We did go back for lunch and it was great! Such a good location/ambiance and the food was exactly what I hoped it’d taste like- delicious!
Situated between a protected beach and a commercial fishing pier, the location makes you hungry for seafood and Seascapes impressively satisfies that craving. We were a tad early for lunch, so no wait for a patio table. Service was excellent. The waitress was very helpful with our questions and she did great taking our picture for us. I substituted cole slaw for my chips in the Fish & Chips and it was awesome. Super friendly attitude and really good seafood.
So, funny.... this is clearly a seafood place. While we visited, a patron complained that all they had was seafood. Pretty funny really. But they do have a few non-seafood offerings. Our meals were delicious. Other people's food look good The views are great. We visited in February... that's a slow time. There was easy parking and no wait. Everything at and around the Seascape was great 👍
Well again one of my favorite places on the north coast. I love the sourdough pancakes. I had the hangtown fry. Yum my wife had the dungeness crab omelet, pricy but how often do Nevraskans get a fresh crab omelet? I said hey go for it, she did and enjoyed every bite. Coffee was good , view fantastic, morning was cool, windy, sunny. But all in all a great northcoast experience.
The restaurant is right on the water. There are beautiful views of the ocean from the windows. The staff was excellent and efficient. The service was quick and friendly. We had the Blackberry sourdough pancakes and the Spinach, Garlic and Mozzarella Skillet. Both were delicious. This place has been there since the 1960s and is a great place to visit.
The lady who helped me was very kind and attentive. The food was just what I was hoping for. The biscuits and gravy were solid- quality homemade biscuits with a plentiful amount of delectable gravy with a generous size for the full order. I am glad I picked up a side of bacon as well although it surely did not make for a healthy meal. The strawberry banana mimosa was also a great size. The flavor did not come through as strongly as I thought it would but was good. I would likely try the mango next time it just a classic. The couple booths next to the pier have views that are second-to-none. And why wouldn't you take a short walk for the views before or after your meal (I prefer to move a little after a meal before getting back in the car).
Every experience has been positive! Awesome and accommodating staff, gorgeous views, and the perfect location for a variety of occasions. I've been here multiple times now, and every time has been both an enjoyable and memorable experience. More recently, went on a date with my partner here and our server was super wonderful! My favorite place to eat in Trinidad by far!
Seascape has long been a "go to" for us because of location on the ocean, great food, consistent and friendly service. They went over the top this weekend when we hosted a surprise birthday party in their cabana! They rocked the communication, assistance, service, friendliness, food was great, and they tolerated our chaos! We could not have asked for a more awesome environment!
We pulled off the highway for breakfast and are so glad we did! The view was beautiful, and the food was even better. We both ordered the Chairman Omelette, and it was absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and quick, making the whole experience such a pleasant stop. Highly recommend!
Nice views, definitely a seascape :-) It would be nice though if there were more local and homemade options. Especially with regard to jams, meats, etc. go up to anywhere near Newport in Oregon and everything is usually locally produced for the same price as here.. I highly recommend they remove the electronic ordering systems in the hands of the waitress - eye contact with the screen takes away from the in person experience (not all customers may directly notice this, but it will surely impact their experience). Otherwise, we might as well order on a screen ourselves and be in a larger town/city. The staff are clearly hard workers though (especially the guy who cleans and sets tables). Lately, please tell customers that they have to pay upfront… it’s somewhat of an inconvenience, but it’s even more so when waiting with my card on the table for 20 minutes.
Choice small restaurant overlooking the Trinidad harbor. They have a nice selection of delicious breakfast dishes and the view is scenic and relaxing. Service was excellent. After dining here a relaxing walk along the pear or on the shore of the bay is a great way to enjoy the fresh ocean air.
Cozy local restaurant right on the warf with sea light, ocean, and haystack views. I ordered the fisherman’s brunch because I was starving; every bite was delicious. I had spent the night before on my first solo camp night and was freezing, and looking like a hungover raccoon. I received the same warm, kind, and welcoming service as the locals. Also, clearly adored by the locals; local child art was hanging around the entrance.
There is nothing like eating fresh seafood with the smell of ocean brine wafting through the windows. Views from this restaurant are great. The little bay and the long dock where fishermen haul in their catches. Crab and fish by the bucketload. The beach is a nice little opportunity for wading after lunch as well. Our food came in amounts fit for an American. Lots of fish, and tons of fries to take home. So good and all for a good price. Super awesome location off the beaten path.
Seascape Restaurant; my favorite dining spot when stopping to eat or staying a couple of days in Trinidad. Located at the pier in Trinidad with spectacular views of Trinidad Harbor. Here are some key points about Seascape Restaurant: 1. Food Quality: The food at Seascape is of high quality and well worth the price. Standout dishes include the Clam Chowder, Fish n Chips, Crab and Shrimp Louie Combo salad. But my favorite dish here; the sourdough pancakes. Delicious! Best pancakes!!!. 2. View: Almost all tables offer an oceanfront view, making it a stunning place to dine. 3. Service: Friendly, helpful, and efficient. If you’re in the area, consider stopping by Seascape for a delightful meal with an amazing view!

The service was wonderful. The half crab salad sandwich with chowder was delicious and filking. A Steelhead pale complimented the meal. The inside of restaurant was very calm and relaxing.

Great shrimp salad and they made gf garlic toast. Quaint classic seafood diner. Clam chowder in sourdough bowl gets high rating from us

Taking my sister to a local seafood restaurant in Trinidad, we hit the Seascape. My wife and I enjoy seafood and this seemed to be the best choice. Our wait was short. We were seated and gazed at all of the menu options. I tired the scrambled eggs with clam chowder (I would have not thought of the as a good pairing). My sister has the Apple French toast with caramel drizzle. My wife has the Miss Phyllis (shrimp green onion omelet on top of a bed of potatoes). The food was great, served within 20 minutes. And, my eggs and chowder was fantastic, it was a fun surprise. The interior of the restaurant was clean and orderly, as was the bathroom. I am looking forward to going back and trying more from the menu.
I grew up visiting Trinidad every year growing up and remember it fondly, and so now having children of my own I had to bring them here to check it out. We had the Hot Chocolate, Clam Chowder, and split a full order of Fish and Chips. The Hot Chocolate was great and they gave a generous amount of Whipped Cream on the top. It’s probably unfair that we drove down the 101 from Oregon the day before, but the Clam Chowder and Fish and Chips just didn’t meet the expectations on flavor. I would say the Clam Chowder was freshly made and cooked well, just lacking a little bit on flavor. The Fish and Chips smelled amazing, it’s what drew us in from the pier, but the fish just lacked some flavor. It was breaded and cooked well though, and the beer battered fries were pretty good. I still recommend it though, but if compared to a larger coastal area like the northern Oregon coast it lacks some on flavor. The atmosphere was great and has some nice views, with hiking and the beach right there for activities. We walked from the beach parking and there was plenty of space.
Always great food, friendly staff, worth waiting if busy. Best clam chowder on the planet. Prices are a bit high, beverage prices crazy, hot chocolate 4.95, less than 1 cup of milk.
This restaurant was right down the street from the home we were staying in for my birthday trip to Trinidad. It came recommended from the homeowner, so we drove down there to give it a try. The view is amazing, and the food was pretty decent. Our waitress was very nice and gave us recommendations on a lot of the popular dishes because both my husband and I couldn’t decide between two dishes each. I did get the blackberry pancakes, which were pretty good, and I believe he got the surf rider? I can’t remember for sure, but I know he enjoyed his breakfast. We would recommend this to anyone in the area for good food, and a great view!
My husband had the breaded prawns and he loved them. I had the sauteed prawns and scallops and they were good, wish there had been a bit more since it was $33 about $10 more than than the breaded prawns. We also ordered Pasta Primavera for our 13 year old and she liked it. Just a bit garlicky. The view was nice. Service was good. It was very close to our RV park.
The view and overall ambiance was very pleasing and reminiscent of acquaint seaside town. I'm a clam chowder buff, and although very hearty, it was a bit heavy with potatoes that it masked the clam flavor. I also had their crab sandwich, which was very good, kind of open faced, but I wish the bread was firmer. Bit was saggy and you had to hold with both hands which made it messy to eat. Overall, food was still very good. Everything was priced about right with the higher end being any item with crab in it. Service was kind of blah, but that was alright as I was kind of settled in my own zone. I'd stop here again for the setting and I'd like to try more on the menu

I will visit this place every time I come to the area. Food is excellent, people are friendly, great for family outings. Beaches all around. However..... they only have one bathroom and everybody uses it. Been coming here for over thirty years. Maybe time for an upgrade? The wharf was upgraded. And parking has a lot to be desired. I guess when your food is great it's a nice trade off. I will definitely be back soon.
Hadn't been for years so we went for lunch on our anniversary, I had always enjoyed the clam chowder but was very disappointed from what I remember as great chowder was now more like potato soup. It was very thick with very little clam flavor. The restaurant has a wonderful view and the staff was accommodating. The clam strips were good, I just won't be back for the chowder they seem to have misplaced the recipe.
I had a sole sandwich, it was really bland and not a sandwich, just a peice of sole and two peices of under toasted bread. It's too bad, the place is so nice looking
Service was fast & friendly! Loved the location. Serve beer & wine only. Sake in a bloody Mary is surprisingly yummy. Crab grilled cheese was $$$ but you definitely got a good bit of crab. If they offered more of a cheese selection I think it would bring the grilled cheese to whole new level. Fries were yummy. Bathroom was clean.
We visited Trinidad today, and what a quaint and serene little resort town. We walked on the beach and then decided to have lunch at Seascape Restaurant and Pier. The place was quite busy, yet the food was so so. Truly, there is nothing to write home about. The waitress was very kind and professional, but the patty melt was less than desirable, and the chicken sandwich was very dry. The fries and potato salad were decent. The people at the next booth were swatting flies, and the gentleman complained about his fish and chips stating he had a hard time cutting his fish. Maybe we ordered items that were not popular at the restaurant, but needless to say, we won't be returning. The 3rd star is given specifically for the location.
honestly the food is the weirdest thing we’ve seen before. the shrimp cocktail had 50-75 (literally) tiny shrimp with sauce in a little dish. it was the least appetizing thing I’ve ever seen honestly. my husband ordered a burger and it came on a sandwich bun, but it tasted fine. wasn’t worth $22 though. the clam chowder was good. people were friendly there, but i wouldn’t go back.
Possibly the worst calamari I’ve ever had: chewy squid, and batter that was thick and soggy. Fish and chips: rubbery cod, ok fries. Place was full; locals and tourists must really like the view and have low food standards.
Don’t threaten and harass us every day for ten years because you aren’t smart enough to manage a parking lot lol. Such bad business. The only good thing about this place is the view, and they didn’…
The service was slow. Clam chowder was like mashed potatoes with no clams. The sandwich was terrible. Waitress said it was the last of the chowder and it was awful
Truly one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The food was cold, the waitstaff would have been more attentive if they had been dead and the restaurant was full of flies. To top it off it was pricey. Everything else about our trip to Trinidad was wonderful... but do not eat here!
Such a cool venue but the food sucks. Also you can see the dysfunction the way staff work. They will have like 3 people cleaning tables but you have to wait 10 minutes for the one waiter to take your order. Used to be better years ago. If you are familiar with other Rancheria venues you will have a good idea of what to expect here. Basically iconic Humboldt venues getting slurped up and run in the most mediocre way possible. Given the plethora of other great options in the area, we’ll be not coming back till something changes.
Restaurant has a beautiful view of the ocean and the location was perfect. The food was not great. I ordered the fried shrimp and they were comparable to the butterflied shrimp that you would get at Captain D’s or Golden Corral…..and you only get like 5-6. If you come here for the view and you are hungry, just get the fried cod (fish & chips). Service wasn’t great either. Clam Chowder was tolerable but tasted more “flour-y” than creamy.
