Best golden chicken experience ever. The manager Paul was beyond helpful and amazing! We had a huge order of food! (200 tenders plus some sides& teas). He did everything he could to make it easy for us and to make sure we had the freshest food possible. Golden chick, Paul, my family thanks you deeply for everything. If I could give more than 5 stars, we would! Thank you!!

Service was awesome, food was great and fast! The young man at the drive thru treated my family and I with great service and was very nice even going as far to ask how we’ve been and creating conversation while getting our food for us!! I had to ask his name bc he really made us enjoy the little time we had there! Abel was his name I believe! Highly recommend this place!!

Went for the first time in a long time and the lady helping me and my boyfriend. I'm not sure if she was the manager or not but she was in red shirt. She was so sweet and helpful to everyone. Get at multitasking. Made sure we had what we needed plus the restaurant was clean and well kept together.

I never give 5 stars so it must be very much worthy! The big & juicy sandwich is true to its name. The wait staff was assessibile and payment staff were both excellent and friendly. I did not ask, but given a senior discount to my total. Quality fast food.

Golden Chick is known for their great chicken and wonderful dinner rolls but they also make an outstanding chicken salad. This is one of my wife's favorites. Great service and friendly staff!

Whenever I’m in the mood for chicken the first thing that pops in my mind is golden chick, and it’s going to stay that way for a long time, because the food is always 10 out of 10. Service is on point, and the chicken sandwich is by far better then Popeyes. I just want to say thank you golden chick for always bringing me a big smile when I eat there.

I'm from San Marcos so this was my first time at the Golden Chick in Kyle. The one in San Marcos had already left a bad impression about Golden Chick, not just their rude staff but the dirty facility. That however was not the case at the Kyle location. The place was so clean and the staff was so friendly and welcoming! will definitely make the dive up to Kyle again, the service and food are well worth the drive.

I gotta say I was very impressed by the quality of food. I had the tenders which were just that: tender, juicy, and delicious. Then I had the mac n cheese. OMG, fast food isn't supposed to be this good. But it is. Can't wait to go back and try something else.

We always get the 24-count spicy wings and and side of dirty rice it's soooo gooooodddd!!! Also the sweet rolls are always on point 👉 👈

The young lady who is taking orders at the drive thru was very peppy and seemed to enjoy her job. My receipt says Shelby. Once we got to the window, she apologized for the wait. But the wait was not long at all. She was still very nice as she took our payment and even noticed our dog in the back seat and asked if the dog could have a pup tender. I was very happy with her service.

Great food! It's my family's favorite chicken place. Plus, the macNcheese is my youngest sons favorite. My oldest loves their chicken sandwich! Lots of options & the employees there are absolutely amazing with customer service and kindness. Its also great when we go inside and get their icecream 🍦 😋 ☺

This is one of the best locations we have eaten at! We’ve been to this location 3 times in the last month and it gets better with every visit. First off the staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is ALWAYS hot and fresh and service is quick even when they are busy. We will keep coming back to this location for our chicken needs!

I love the roasted chicken breasts, and so do my three cats! Second favorite is Jalapeño Poppers! And, do you know you can buy fine- chunk-ice in bags? Finally, do not fail to ask for the senior discount!

I came here to eat on August 19 ,2024. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome. I sat down to get ready to eat and noticed that this has to be one of the most cleanest restaurant/fast food places that I’ve ever been too. The restroom was so clean, the window sill had no dust, no finger prints on the window, no dust on the ceiling fans, I can go on to talk about how clean this place is. The staff was friendly, the food came out in a timely fashion and it was HOT! Not burnt, not warm, hot and the chicken was so juicy and delicious it fell apart. I can’t wait to go back!

Went thru drive thru as dine in was not open. Couple of items of our oder was wrong or missing but we had already left. The food we did have however was good. I will be going back but will check my order before leaving.

I absolutely love this place! Delicious food and friendly staff. Trust me, I know. I worked there for about a year. Only problem is the chicken is not very consistent in flavor. Sometimes its the best chicken you have ever tasted and other times it's bland or too salty.

This was the first time I was told that they only leave chicken under the heating lamps for 45 minutes before its discarded, found that hard to believe. I normally wait on chicken fresh out of the grease, that way I know how fresh it is.

Fried chicken has a good flavor and nice crispy, bite through crust. Rolls are excellent !!. The coleslaw is not the best I ever had, but is decent.

Great chicken tenders. Only real complaint is you need to verify that you are getting their "Zing" sauce and seasonings if you request them. Not uncommon for them to overlook putting them into the bag.

Popeyes has dropped the ball this is my new chicken place. I don't care for their dipping sauces. I make my own home made Buffalo Sauce at home

The dining room wasn't prepped for a dinner crowd. Ketchup was empty, no straws or forks. There was plenty of staff but no one took care of the dining room self service.

I was in the fast food industry for 10 yrs. I must give them serious credit. They are always friendly and do a great job. The drive thru is sometimes backed up into the Veterans drive, but that just tells me that people are willing to wait. Had a discussion with the manager during covid at one point, he explained that they are short staffed and working more hours than most. PLZ people, restaurants are are short staffed and doing their best. Many employees are young adults on their first jobs. BE PATIENT.

Possibly the best Golden Chick in Austin area. I always order one thigh (fried) and the piece I get is nearly always a "good" fresh piece. And sometimes when the pieces have been sitting a while they will go ahead and give me two pieces for the price of one. Rolls are very good but at $69 per roll? Overpriced...That costs theme one star in the rating.

Super chicken strips. Their chicken sandwich gives their competitors a run for the money because the bun is one of their rolls but bigger. Fries are great. Gravy was a little runny this time but taste was good. Fried okra is really good if you like okra. They can get a little over run at the rush times but they are courteous and try hard to please.

This location is probably not the easiest to get to since it's not near any major highways. It's not even near a busy street in Kyle. But there is usually 3 or 4 vehicles waiting in the drive thru. The service has always been great and I don't think I've ever had a messed up order which happens way more frequently at other fast food places. I will gladly continue to order from here when I'm in the mood for fried chicken and great rolls.

I have been a fan of Golden Chick since the Belton days. The tenders at this location were salty and a little soggy. Not the crispy fried tender I have experienced at all other locations. 2nd time I have had this result. Love the brand, hopefully feedback will have them examine their quality control.

It's one of the better fast food fried chicken joints around. The okra has good flavor, the rolls are light and sweet. Staff was friendly. It was a clean restaurant.

The employee seemed rushed for us to order. Our first time to visit and did not know the menu. It was not busy. I ordered chicken tenders and noticed sauces but forgot to ask for one. Went to ask at that time and basically told I received gravy and would have to pay for any sauce. I did not know this but was embarrassed, as other employees listened and watched. Oh well. If we return I will know what to do. My husband liked his food for the most part

Chicken tender combo was good quality. The Chicken Salad salad was not good. I purchased it around 12:30pm on Sunday, 9/11, but the salad had a Sell By stamp of 1pm on Saturday, 9/10. The lettuce was brown and rotten, so I had to throw the entire salad away. This is the second time in a row I have been served an expired salad from this location.

First time trying this place. Did the drive thru which was slow. Had the chicken strips which I enjoyed. The sides ( Cole slaw and green beans) were okay. Yeast rolls were good but made my wife and I laugh about them being smashed into the container. I will probably go back again. They also offer catfish and shrimp which I'd like to try based on the chicken.

I'm only giving Golden Chick 3 stars because while the chicken was HoT and fresh. My side of mashed potatoes with brown gravy had a funny smell and tasted sour. I hope Golden Chick will be more careful of the food they are serving. So the chicken is hot and crispy. Just remember if you order mashed potatoes, give them a whiff before you leave.

The chicken was good but the mac and cheese is meh. The doors were locked due to staff shortage as stated on the sign. We we pull up to the window to pay you can see at least 4-5 employees (unsure how many are needed to run a shift) but it looked like the normal amount when it's open. The drive through was quick with only 1 car in front of me.

The Catfish is a good choice for lent the pieces are small and the price is high so go to the neighborhood church to support them.

I thought i hated lumpy gravy....until I had watered down gravy. Not only is watered down gravy not rich in flavor, but is very easily spilled out of the disc-like "bowls", especially when trying to drive and eat. Watering down the gravy is the last place to try and cut on food cost, since its the cheapest food product you sell. Shame

Havent gotten food yet. But the 15 minutes Ive been in line so far is a bad start & still have 2 cars in front of me! This is by far the worst "fast" food joints, especially for just chicken. Wont be back for quite awhile.

Usually when I eat there it's good but this last time the chicken was dry like it been sitting around for a long time and the coleslaw was absolutely flavorless like there was no sauce on it just plain cabbage and carrots. I ordered all white meat but I was given a thigh and a wing. Not sure if I'm going to go back after this last experience

First time visiting this location.... I ordered online because I was staying at a hotel miles away. This was the closest location. I ordered 24pc wicked wings. I returned to the hotel and the wings looked cooked on the outside but it was all pink meat inside. When I bit into the chicken it was still raw all of it . I called the store and the associate states I should have asked for well done. I ordered online but I did not see the option. Needless to say I will never come back to this location. Never had this problem with any location in San Antonio

Stored by to get the catfish which is good & the wicked wings BUT the girl at the window was VERY rude. No greeting, didn't offer us condiments, gave us a drink that was spilling over, didn't offer napkins, didn't NOT even mutter a word! Handed out order over & that was that! I called in to complain, we didn't get her name but the customer service was horrible.

Ordered online to “skip the line” and arrived to a completely empty store and drove through. After telling the guy running the drive through our order name 4 times they finally told us to go to the next window. Then we sat there for 15 minutes while they actually started our order. They hadn’t even started it. We sat there for 16 minutes watching them prepare our order in complete silence, the team didn’t say a word to us. Then finally they handed us our order without a word. They didn’t say hello, sorry for the wait, good after noon, nothing. Just handed us our order and shut the window. This was absolutely embarrassing conduct from a service standpoint. A 0 at every possible opportunity to make our experience enjoyable and productive. Will not be returning to get food during this shift. 5:30 on Sunday. Beware!

This location needs to improve their customer service. I called to place an order for pick up and the gentle who answered said he couldn't take my order for me to call back in 30 mins. As if him taking my order down was so difficult. It's unprofessional to tell a client that, that's how you lose customers.

Omg, where do I start. The chicken they served us was VERY OLD. It was like eating jerky. The wild rice was cold. I called and spoke with the manager (Kyle) on duty and his best response was can you bring it back instead of saying "I am sorry I can credit your card back or I can replace it the next time you come in". This will be our last time ever going back there. I don't think they deserve even a star, but, I couldn't post without hitting at least one of them.

Food is good but wow that was crazy expensive for not much food at all! Family meal? Well, whose family can use 12 ounces of green beans to have even 1 full serving for each person in their family? That in and of itself does not make sense. The “family meal” with 3 “family sides” came out to $42 and some change. So, 36 ounces of sides and 25 tenders when the average American family has a Mother, Father, and 2 kids means they each get 3 ounces of each “family side.” My 3 babies would eat (at one setting) 8-12 ounces of baby food. You do the math and see if it is worth it.

This is the service you get when you hire children to manage and run an establishment. Live in Buda drove to Kyle to get food from here. Specifically asked if a item was in the bag. Girl looks and me smiles and says sure. Should of known! Get home and sire enough was not included. Had family in last min. Thought this was going to be a sure thing for dinner. Waste of time. Still had to go to another place to get more food for my family. Great! This is just what I wanted to do on this cold and rainy day. Called a "manager" and some young girl answers. Sure drive back here and get your item. "Drive 9 miles for one thing?" Not sure the sense there? Or you can come by anytime and get your item. ? What?. What am I going to do with just mash potatoes one random day? Well glad there is chicken Express! Dont go here if you want what you paid for. Or go here if you like wasting your time and money. Get old chicken, burnt rolls ,and water for gravy this is your place to be!

Horrible service! They didn't have white chicken available but wanted to still charge me for a mixed meal vs an all dark meal. Whoever was taking the drive thru order had horrible comprehension skills which in turn made me go in to finish the transaction. As soon as I walked in the manager came over and the first thing out of her mouth was not "Hi I'm So and So the manager how can I help?" The first words were, "You can not get any discount for the meal." Wait what!? I didn't ask for a discount, I didn't even get to tell them who I was. But since they assumed I went ahead and proceeded to order. As I was ordering the managager kept sighing aloud and rolling her eyes. I stopped in the mist of my order and advised her that I could be just as rude as she was being to me. She was upset that I couldn't wait for her to make more chicken that she ran out of. (Not my problem). I have 2 young boys to tend to at home on a school night that needed to be in bed. Therefore I was not waiting for chicken to be made that should have already been ready. After finally getting through the order she told me the amount and while I was handing her my card that was already in my hand ready to pay... She walked off! Like literally walked past 4 other employees that we're already being hella nosey to drop some okra! Like you couldn't take my card FIRST, THEN walk off!? You couldn't call back to any one of the other 4 employees standing there eaves dropping into our conversation to drop some okra!? This particular manager, barely spoke English and had NO, ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS! PLEASE SOMEONE HELP THEM! THIS IS SAD...

45 mins to get food. Messed up order so we didn’t get half of what we paid for. 45 dollars to only receive 20 dollars worth of food. Inside not open so couldn’t even go in to get order fixed and do t want to wait another 45mins plus just to get some damn chicken. Lesson learned. Won’t be back.

Used the App. Was given a pickup time and notification text. When I got to the store the lobby was closed and staff would not open the door and hand me my order. Instead I was directed to a line of cars wrapped around the lot. 20 min later I eventually got my cold meal. Never ever, ever ever coming back to this location.

Simple order for 1 person but they accidentally forgot my side of coleslaw no big deal right, until I called just to let Rosemary know "it's no big deal but just wanted to save my receipt for next visit and get my coleslaw next time" to which she responds well "procedure is I need your name, you will only get the coleslaw, and it's only good for 2 weeks..." I'm leaving this review because I'm pretty sure procedure is to put my coleslaw in the bag before I leave the drive thru... also I don't want extra food nor do I want to go back now I just wanted my side of coleslaw without stipulations...

Chicken has no taste or flavor, it's plain. Fish is the only item I like.

Went to the Kyle location for the first time today. Chicken tenders were okay, but everything else lacked seasoning. Mashed potatoes were bland and dry, gravy was so watery and lumpy, and I guess whoever bagged my order was mad cause my rolls were all flat and stuffed tightly in the bag. Austin locations are always so good, was expecting this too but very disappointing.

I spent 25$ on a family meal and it was the worst chicken we've ever had. The chicken was liquid (not juicy), and so salty! We fed our plates to the dogs, called back to Golden Chick, and was told we had to save the food we had left and call back to talk to franchise owner, Paul, who didn't return until the morning. I talked to Paul this morning and he informed me that he never had and never will do a refund. I informed him that I had the rest of the product stored properly in the refrigerator and could bring it to him. Paul said I could have switched my product with other chicken (really?) and there was nothing he could do. The sides were disgusting, the rolls were dry, and the chicken meat was literally the worst I've ever tasted. And the franchise owner Paul is uncooperative and rude! Buyers beware! Take your hard earned money any where else but here!!!

Very long drive thru wait time. I asked the drive thru associate could she please verify that my complete order was giving to me and she confirmed. Almost home, my 2 yr old wanted to snack on fries and realize they were not placed with my order. Had to go back with a not so happy 2 yr old to get her fries. This place will be shut down within a year as they just cant seem to get it together.

Very very rude! After waiting in like 20 minutes they come to tell me they don’t have change for $100 that there’s nothing they can do unless i can pay another way. Excuse me you wait long enough to come and tell me you don’t have change and mind you with crying kids in the back they are hungry and we are on the road traveling!!! That’s absolutely ridiculous!!!!! Adding we never even got our food because i didn’t have change or a card we couldn’t get our food. DO BETTER.

One of the worst meals I've ever had. Aside from the freshly made bread, everything else was terrible. We all ended up with stomach pains. Compared to other fried chicken chains, this one has the poorest taste. I wouldn't recommend it.

I love Golden Chick chicken! I pick up dinner there about 2-3 times a month. This location always has nice people working the drive -through window. Food is fresh, and my order is always correct. Edit: 1/15/23 - I don't know what happened, but I've had nothing but issues with my orders lately. The last visit, I paid for two breasts and only received one. Complained about it online (with my receipt number), and didn't hear anything back. I not trying to pay $25+ for dinner for two, only to have missing/incorrect orders 3/5 times.

I ordered through door dash for pick up for our $100 order. They gave my order the the wrong person. Then refused to make me an order or refund me. The manager smiled while saying “it’s your fault for ordering on door dash not my problem”. These people are terrible. Don’t take your business here go to chick fil a. We told chick fil a our issue and they the gave us free food!!! From the reviews it looks like this typically happens here. Which means they are stealing from door dash pick up orders.

The chicken legs are the size of the leg part on the chicken wing and the big and golden is half the size now but all remain the same price. When I questioned the size portions of the chicken now I was advised that it was corporate and they send what they want to the Kyle TX Golden Chicken. We need a new chicken restaurant in Kyle that is fair to the community.

I ordered a 12 piece. My kids like the breast. The breast it the order had all the breast meat cut off before frying. All that's left was a sliver of meat attached to the Bone and alot of extra breading to cover the missing meat. Missing the extra rolls order. I got trumped here. Never again

I placed an order online and when I arrived, they couldn’t find it—only to later admit they had given it to someone else. I showed them my receipt and confirmation, but they still refused to remake the order or take accountability. They even tried to hand me someone else’s order when I got there. When I asked if they usually ensure orders go to the right people, they said yes—which clearly wasn’t the case. Overall, I won’t be returning. Do better, Golden Chick.

Chicken was good but the rolls were over baked and hard. I ordered a family meal and got no napkins and only 3 packs of honey after requesting some not the best service can use some improvement. They charge for a large WATER! 3.29 that is ridiculous water should be free everywhere.
