Great place. Seen the name around a lot, but finally tried it. Good bagel ratios with the schmear too! I don't think we have these in El Paso but I wish we did.
I love Einstein Bagels! Huge variety of flavors and their sandwiches are so fresh. I was in there at 6:10 am today ( 10 minutes after they open) and not only was there plenty of variety, service was quick and friendly. A great place for bagels or sandwiches.
One of the best two bagels stores that I have ever been. A great variety of choices and all of them taste very good. Highly recommend Santa Fe and Sunrise. The asiago and six cheese bagels are the best. The French vallina coffee is also of good quality. Excellent place for both quick grab-and-go during working days and relaxing brunch during weekends. Nice place for "when coffee meets bagel".
I love coming here. They are very friendly and efficient plus their bagels taste delicious. I’ll be back at least once or twice a week. The staff is amazing by the way.
The manager, Blake, has always provided great customer service. I work nearby at UCSD and I eat at Einsteins frequently. Seriously, great stuff, but Blake superceeds expectations!
I'm never disappointed when I visit Einstein Bros. I was in LaJolla for the weekend at a business conference and had a taste for a breakfast bagel sandwich, and without any surprises, Einstein Bros. came through with that fresh, great tasting bagel sandwich and coffee. Great job always.
I have had my baker's dozen bagels delivered, plus lox and cream cheese and a coffee.,la Jolla location. I have never had anything but a great order. I am from NYC originally and these bagels are excellent!! coffee was good as well. When I called, the receptionist was always polite and helpful. Thank you Einstein bagels.
best einsteins i have been to in a while. music was playing. the employees were working hard but also having a nice time. smiles. great speed of service with how busy it was, and great food! got to use my promo code for a couple free bagels too.
Great place to get breakfast in the morning, especially on Saturdays and Sundays. I always get the Breakfast Sandwich on Cinnamon Sugar bagel and an OJ on the side. The one thing I really like about them though is their service. They may be busy at times, but everyone is working 110% and making sure each person coming in is being taken care of. I have never had a bad experience here
The staff here are always friendly and manage the morning rush super well. I really appreciate that they always keep an eye on the coffee left and keep the popular ones like vanilla hazelnut ready with a backup. Very easy quick breakfast if you use the app!
My main spot is UTC Einstein Bros & Bagels. I been to all of SD Einstein but my favorite spot is at UTC Einstein; every morning 5AM or 6AM. The service is Unmatched out of all location. 👌👌 Carlos and Blake work almost every day and always got smile on there face like; how they do that at 5AM haha an excellent service like they are the owners. Very hard to find workers like them
This is one of the best bagel places you can go to. Too many choices of bagels and cream choices. Quick orders. Perfect for a quick breakfast. You can't go wrong here. They have benches to sit and enjoy your bangels and some good local coffee brews.
Delicious bagels. We tried blueberry, cranberry, french toast, sesame, and whole wheat! Honey and almond cream cheese is recommended. Strawberry cheese is good, too.

All the staff are incredibly friendly. I go every Monday at 5:15. Often I am the first customer. Blake the manager always greets me with a smile and all rhe guys know my order by heart. Oh and the Bagels are fantastic James
I've been going to this store most mornings for years, so I know it well. This is a very well run shop. Very friendly, efficient staff, with low turnover, and one thing that never ceases to impress me is how quickly new hires go from learning the ropes to being extremely good at their jobs. This speaks to good management. The bagels are yummy and the vanilla hazelnut coffee is an incredible way to start your morning! Highly recommended spot!
One of the friendliest staffs that make this chain location feel like a small town local bagel shop. I’m always felt welcome and they remember my name and my regular order.
Best bagels and coffee in San Diego! Always fresh and delicious. The location in La Jolla has an attentive staff and always friendly. The Manager (Blake) takes his job seriously and always with a smile. I’ve been enjoying this location for 20 years. If there were 10 stars they’d be a sure 10!
I stop by here in the morning for breakfast before heading to work. The staff is always friendly and welcoming and they always have my order ready by the time I get there. The bagels and coffee are always fresh. Great place!
Great bagels and great service. The manager Blake and Carlos take great care of me each time I'm in. I order my bagels in advance and they are always ready just like I ordered them.
Best bagels around. We go early every Monday, they are warm and fresh, the jalapeño Cheddar are the best. Fresh, fast, friendly and not crazy expensive.

Being from the Midwest, Einstein brothers always brings back fond memories. They don't serve caribou coffee but I think the beans are caribou which is a treat since there are no caribou copies in San Diego or California. The variety of bagels is also great.. a flavor for every palette.
Staff are friendly, service is prompt, bagels are pretty standard (Einstein or Noah's, same basic company). They have online ordering for when you're in a rush. And a good snack to enjoy while you're hanging out in the area. Would recommend but am not crazy over this corporation.
Update: Since my first review below (many years ago), this shop has been much better because the staff is much kinder and more welcoming. Thank you for taking customer input seriously and fixing the necessary staffing issues. The food is fine per usual but the staff was not welcoming at all. I stood at the register, after walking the line, for 5 minutes before I had to ask...”Is this where I can order or...?” The guy proceeded to give me attitude and told me that I ordered elsewhere. Well at that point there was a line and at no point did an employee offer assistance or direction. Slightly ridiculous. The only part that earned the 2nd star was the friendly smile and “Have a great day” from the store manager. Thank you for ending the experience on a positive, it’s obvious the store only functions because of her.
Bagels were pretty good. We had the Santa Fe egg white and the vegetarian bagel. Most places put too much on vegetarian items, either too much sauce or slimey tomatoes, but not this place. I enjoyed the sauce on it and would go here again if I find another location.
Came to grab a breakfast bagel. A bacon and cheddar on plain with 2 eggs! Took a little while to get the food after the order was placed. They were really busy at the time! Didn’t stick around to eat my food though. But overall it wasn’t too bad!
Food is super great. I love coming in the morning for a bagel or a egg sandwich. I have only tried lunch here once and it was also pretty good and I love that it was served with a pickle on the side but breakfast will always be my favorite. :) This is also such a great option for bringing in food for the office - a couple of boxes of a variety of bagels and some different cream cheeses and everyone can have what they like. The staff is a little all over the place and I think most of it is because they are so busy but in the afternoon's before they close it can get a little dicey service wise. They also do close kind of early so grabbing bagels after work is not an option - and by the late afternoon they are out of a lot of the good options so grabbing what you'd like early is definitely a must.
I stopped by Einstein Bros Bagels to grab a dose of caffeine before the morning began for work. I noticed a range of families and people from different walks of life. Likely, most are either traveling or about to head off to work. I searched on Reddit what is a favorite go-to order, and the following came up: Everything bagel with tomato, bacon and cream cheese. So I ordered it and have been delightfully surprised! If you know what kind of bagel sandwich makes you happy, I hope you get what you want here. I initially got a latte, and they make it using an expresso machine. I followed up with a cup of drip coffee as I also noticed a good number of customers grabbing them. There’s two different flavors for drip coffee that was provided. I choose the vanilla flavored one and it may be a bit too sweet for my liking hahaha. The team here was good about bringing orders in a timely manner. I have been blessed. There’s only two tables to seat 3-4 people each inside. There are more outside seating. A good place for a grab and go breakfast/brunch. The lighting is quite warm and everything is relatively clean. Thank you all for your service. God bless you all!
Came here to Get 2 Bagel sandwiches to go. Really surprised by the quick service but I just realized that the order was not fulfilled correctly. Husband and I both ordered the Santa Fe Egg White Sandwich, and they forgot to add the salsa inside. On both. Flavor was not bad but now I realized something was just missing and I guess this salsa was it. Would have definitely brought everything together.
Delicious bagels and good service. The restaurant is kept clean and tidy and their stock levels are on par. Only negative is the occasional over-toasting of our bagels. They are quick to replace them but it would be a better experience if it didn't happen so frequently.

We are rarely disappointed with Einstein bagels but we were annoyed that for a breakfast place, you would think they would always have back up coffee. We waited 15 minutes for it to brew. Luckily, we weren't in a hurry. The lox was good and the bagels in general are always good. The chicken bagel sandwich was dry and not very flavorful.
Bagels were tasty as always but there was a super long line and even though the employees were doing their best and moving quickly, it took 25 minutes to get a simple toasted bagel! And the bag had avocado and cream cheese smeared on the bag. The owner should make sure there are more people scheduled for the morning rush!
I might have been spoiled by the bagel shops in NYC. The cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese and egg and cheese sandwich on cheddar jalapeño were both underwhelming. The strawberry strudel was good. It was worth a try but not sure I’d try again.
Nice place with freshly baked bagels. I like the farmhouse in ancient grains bagel. Service is reasonably fast. Staff is friendly. The outside seating is great especially on a hot day. There is also a parking lot in front of the patio. It costs 1 dollar per 20 minutes, which is OK.

This location has seen better days. I had not been in a couple of years and only went because I had a gift card. Half of my dozen were less than fresh, many baskets were already empty and it was still morning, service was less than welcoming, and we both had stomach issues after eating a bagel (bacteria?). I hate to pan a place, but I remember why I stopped going there after this experience, and am not likely to go back anytime soon, sadly.
I routinely buy a bakers dozen box for the office here, today I waited 27 min while the empty bagel box sat on the counter. Everyone else in line got their orders, I didn't need my bagels toasted or even sliced just thrown in the box so I could go to work. Turns out while I was standing in the store the whole time and the empty box was on top of the bagel counter they forgot my order. I had to get back in line and remind them.
This is the pitiful work you'll get almost every time at this place. I really wish this was better. This SHOULD be a bagel plus avocado plus tomato sauce. What this IS is bagel plus FROZEN avocado plus a few drops of spread. Two stars only because my girlfriend's bagel was "okay"
This one is my first time visiting a Einstein Bros bagels spot. I was extremely excited because I love bagels. And what's better than a sandwich on a bagel? Sadly my experience didn't turn out so well.I was trying to figure out what's inside of each sandwich. I asked the a worker and was told that they were all out of menus that showed the ingredients of each sandwich. He didn't bother helping me with my decision. I finally went with the Supernova on an everything bagel. The sandwich looked good but, it was hard to eat because the cucumbers were cut too thick and the lox was hard to bite through. I had to eat everything separate instead of in an easy sandwich.

1/29/25 I came here early and found it was closed by the health department. I wish they would have fixed the times or updates their site so I would not have made the trip. I hope they can have a fresh start.
Possibly the biggest rip off of all time. No breakfast sandwich should ever be $8 or $9, especially from a chain that delivers the mediocre quality at best. This is a $3 - $4 sandwich that's marked up 2-3 times. You would have better luck going to Starbucks down the road - which really isn't saying much. Would not recommend, will not be returning.
I visited this location today to pick up mobile order after I realized people who got there after me were getting theirs orders I asked if the order was ready they said they’re working on it, over 10 minutes pass by and I ask the manger Blake and he says they’re working on it again so I ask do you know how long and the women behind him snaps and says we just had a huge order and I responded I’m simply asking for the time to know if it’s worth the wait and Blake finally says another 10 mins making it over a 20 min wait time so I left. My issue isn’t much so with waiting but with how she responded to a polite question that was never even spoken to her she jumped into a conversation her manager Blake was having and he said nothing about her behavior it seems this happens often. Horrible customer service do better
I’ve placed multiple orders here for one sandwich and it takes 45 minutes
Ordered online through their own website ar 10:39 a.m. I was notified that my order would be ready within 15-20 minutes. I arrived at the 20 min mark, but I was told that my order didn’t even show up in the screen yet and that they were behind. I ended up waiting 40 minutes for a single basic bagel. I thought I would get an apology or a customer service courtesy but I didn’t. Would I recommend this place? Maybe as a last resource knowing wait time is 40 min or more. Wouldn’t recommend to be your first option.
No one on the premises that can tell me if there's a bagel with no milk in it... Instead the manager lets the new employee just search around the back area for the book with nutritional facts, holding up the line. So I said that's okay, and we let the line pass. I came back a few minutes later to ask the same employee to talk with someone familiar with the menu. Employee is now disgruntled and begins searching for the book again instead of getting the manager. Suffice to say, I still don't know if you have any milk-less bagels, I also wanted to get a cold brew coffee but the disgruntled employee was done with me at that point. This was pretty inconvenient... - Einstein
Went in to get two bagels toasted with cream cheese. One had 1/2 cream cheese, and the other had none and was not toasted.

Rude customer service, the cashier gave us misinformation and the Manager scolded her. Told us "well I'm the manager and we can't do that, it doesn't make sense" when we went to pay they messed up the order again. All over an orange juice
