One of my favorite stops at the UTC mall. Staff & baristas are always friendly and welcoming, even on the busiest days. The bustling environment is fun - a lot of guests come to work and/or hangout. They’ve got special seasonal offerings, as well as Capital One swag/goods in store sometimes. They serve Verve coffee - yum!
At Capital One cafes, you can get a free drink every Monday—just sign up to register. Keep this pass to use every Monday during the 2025 MLB™ regular season for one free handcrafted beverage, from May 7, 2025, through September 22. It’s truly a long-lasting, great perk!
I always enjoy setting up office at a Capital One Cafe for a few hours. This was my first time at this location. Nice layout, friendly staff, and ample space. I also like that I can make a cash payment on my Capital One credit card account and the funds are available within minutes. Another perk is the 50% discount on Peet's coffee drinks.
I’ve been a Capital One client for many years and one thing I didn’t like was that we didn’t have a physical location nearby. It’s reassuring that we now have a physical location right here in San Diego, located in great outdoor mall of UTC Westfield. The space has nice layout, friendly staff, and ample space. There are ATM in the back room where you can make a cash payment on Capital One credit card account and the funds are available within minutes. Another perk is the 50% off discount on Peet's coffee drinks and other promotional specials when available. 4.6/5 ⭐️
This was my first time experience and it was a wonderful one. Matcha was so delicious 😋
Went early at 10 am just when they open, was greeted nicely, paid my credit card, made a deposit to my account at the ATM machine and had some breakfast. The place looks nice and clean. I see some people complaining and giving bad reviews for petty stuff…just do what you gotta do and move on 😂
I've been here a few times and the friendly service of the ambassadors never fail. I haven't had the need to really go into detail of any services, but they're willing to answer any questions. It's a great place to sit down, relax and if needed, study or work. The cafe also offers 50% off drinks if you use a Capital One card. A great deal!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Capital One Cafe at the mall, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish! As someone who loves coffee, I was excited to finally check out Verve, and it did not disappoint. First off, the atmosphere was inviting and cozy, making it a perfect spot to relax or catch up on some work. The modern decor combined with comfortable seating created a welcoming environment that I could easily see myself spending hours in. Now, let’s talk about the coffee! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the brew. I opted for a classic latte, and it was expertly crafted. The espresso was rich and flavorful, perfectly complemented by the creamy milk. You could tell they take their coffee seriously, and it showed in every sip. I also appreciated the variety of options available, from single-origin pour-overs to seasonal specialties. The service was another highlight of my visit. The barista was friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain the different coffee options and even making recommendations based on my preferences. Even though I didn’t have my physical Capital One card on me, I was relieved to find that I could use my digital wallet for payment. It was a seamless transaction, which made my experience even better. Overall, my visit to Verve at Capital One Coffee Roasters was a fantastic one. Great coffee, excellent service, and a lovely atmosphere make it a must-visit spot in the mall. I can’t wait to return and try more of their offerings. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality coffee experience!
Overall, my first experience at Capital One Cafe was nothing short of magnificent. I left feeling satisfied and eager to return, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to eat or work! Capital One Cafe offers a refreshing blend of ambiance, delicious food, and exceptional service, making it a standout spot for both casual dining and work. Upon entering, I was immediately impressed by the clean and modern decor, which creates a welcoming atmosphere. The menu features a variety of tasty options that are not only delicious but also reasonably priced, allowing guests to enjoy a satisfying meal without breaking the bank. During my visit, I found the food to be flavorful and well-prepared, enhancing the overall experience. What truly sets this cafe apart is the staff. Their professionalism and kindness were evident throughout my visit, contributing to a friendly and inviting environment. It’s clear that they prioritize customer satisfaction, which made my visit even more enjoyable. One suggestion I would offer is to consider adding more private single tables equipped with AC power outlets. This would be especially beneficial for those looking to work or study in a quieter setting.
I am a Capital One customer but never tried their coffee. My son always go to this Cafe' when we visit La Jolla. So yesterday, Valentine's Day we tried it. It was better than Starbucks and cheaper as a Capital One customer I got a 50% discount. The server who took our order was Jessica. There were only two of them and the place was packed. She did a great job. Fast and friendly service too.
Sedalia, Nicole, Olga and Jake. I walked in and was shocked. I actually got lost in the mall and Sedalia literally came out the store and came and found me. They have been more than helpful all of them. This experience has been nothing but incredible. When at first I was totally overwhelmed. I’m so pleased and happy I had the pleasure to meet the team. Come in and enjoy.
We had a banking issue & popped into this Capitol One Cafe. Even though they were not able to get our issue taken care of. Chris went above & beyond to assist us in getting someone on the phone who could assist us. He even threw in a latte. Chris provided amazing customer service & went above & beyond to help us.

My recent visit to Capital One Cafe was stellar. The baristas and tellers were very helpful. I called ahead and spoke with a gentleman who was very helpful with my banking. I'll definitely be going back soon.

I have to stay this is one of the nice capital one cafe’s. It’s calm but sometimes can be very loud due to it being in one of the largest malls in San Diego. I tried one of this coffee, it was good, but nothing fancy about it. The only downside to this cafe is the limited free parking and there’s no bathroom in the cafe. So you want to use the bathroom, you’ll have to leave and come back to study. Other wise, it’s nice. If you stay over 2 hours, you’ll have to pay for the parking fees.
It is a good place to do work, there are many tables but they are regularly busy, their menu is good and if you have a capital one card they give you a 50% discount on your purchase, it is a good place to spend a little time and continue with your day.

Cafe in the mall is a great place to relax, work, or take a break from shopping. The space is clean, modern, and welcoming, with plenty of seating but noisy atmosphere. It’s nice to stop in for a quick drink but spending some time on your laptop can be hard with the noise. The coffee and drinks are decent, and Capital One cardholders get a nice discount, which is a plus. Staff are friendly and helpful, and there’s no pressure to be a Capital One customer to enjoy the space. Overall, a decent spot that adds value to the mall experience.

Amazing sitting area to chill in between the hustle bustle of utc mall..food is okay and amazing pocket saver if you got a capital one card! We tried coffee(was fine) but the flatbread was chewy..got my 🦷 tested for real😂
I the breakfast sandwich, which was good, and ok, but it's very disappointing when u have a tiny sausage on the sandwich. The service it's ok, but except for the girl, she's so welcoming. So please have a sausage that is the same size as the bun. It's not fair that I pay 9.50 for a small sandwich, with only half sausage.

I stopped by Verve Coffee at Capital One Café today and ordered a Cortado, while my mom had a regular latte. The café was packed with college students, and we had to settle for a side couch without a table. Their menu offers very limited options, which was a bit disappointing. I wanted to take a photo of my drink, but a staff member stopped me, explaining that since it’s a bank, photography isn’t allowed. That was unexpected and took away from the experience. As for the coffee, it was okay—not bad, but nothing special. Unfortunately, I believe they messed up my order. Since I’m breastfeeding, I always order decaf, but I felt unusually energized after drinking it. That night, I struggled to fall asleep, and my baby was also unusually alert, leading to a very difficult night. Overall, the experience was frustrating. While the coffee itself wasn’t terrible, the crowded atmosphere, strict photo policy, and likely order mistake made it an unpleasant visit.

Went to the cafe for a place to study. It was nice that they have free wifi and plenty of outlets but thats all this place has going for it. Food is poorly made and cook from frozen so it is often soggy. If you want to sit you have to buy something which is reasonable until you see there prices. I got an 8 Oz latte with caramel and it came out to 7 dollars. I'm not sure how you unchangeable something that much but they did. You would expect the coffee to atheist be decent then but no. The espresso tasted burt and the milk was sour. Would not recommend. Its a shame that capital one cafe is one of the few quiet places to study in UTC.

Nitro cold brew was ultra sour, which likely means it’s under-extracted. 2 packets of sweetener couldn’t mask the sourness. There was nothing nitro about it either. Flat. No nitrogen bubbles. Must be old batch or maybe they don’t sell enough of it to get sour. $6 wasted. Not a real coffee shop so my bad going here rather than the other options at the mall.
This review is solely related to Capital One’s banking service (specifically credit cards) and my overall experience with them so far. I want to note that the ambassador I spoke with was nice, friendly, and understanding of my situation. However, my issue with my experience is the lack of authority he had to do anything about it. I am a customer with a Quicksilver One card and a Savor card. When reviewing the cards I am pre-approved to upgrade, I see that I am only pre-approved to upgrade my Savor to Quicksilver—but not my Quicksilver One to Quicksilver. This makes no logical sense to me. My assumption, which I am unfortunately probably correct about, is that Capital One knows Quicksilver One is many people's first card. Since closing the account would impact their credit score more, Capital One likely avoids offering upgrades for it or deliberately holds out on them to force customers to keep paying the annual fee. I have called the customer support line before, and it is clear to me that the representatives are cheap hires who can only provide information that is already available through the app. This is disappointing because I would like to speak to someone who can actually listen to my situation, understand how ridiculous it is, and bypass the automated approval process. After my experience with mobile support, I went to a Capital One Café in hopes of speaking to someone with real authority. Instead, I spoke to an ambassador who, while nice and friendly, had even less authority than the mobile reps. The ambassador essentially offered to call the mobile support line with me, which resulted in the exact same phone call I would have had if I had called on my own. The only difference was that the ambassador was there to listen to the ridiculous situation I was in and witness Capital One’s money-grabbing tactics. At the end of the day, I came to the conclusion that Capital One is a large corporation that has automated a system that prioritizes money over customer satisfaction. I closed my Quicksilver One card (which the ambassador couldn't help me with either) and plan to eventually close my Savor card as well. I will never bank with Capital One again.
Today I made a deposit….and the ATM machine accepted the cash but gave NO RECEIPT. The money never appeared in my account. When I called Capital One, they opened a case and said it could take up to 45 days to investigate. I was also told that I “should’ve deposited in $200–$300 increments” — which contradicts the machine’s instructions and makes no sense. That ATM clearly states it can take up to 200 bills, and my deposit was nowhere near that. This isn't the first time this ATM has had problems either. It's unreliable and still in use, which is unacceptable in such a high-traffic area. The deposit was a wedding gift and Capital One’s lack of urgency or accountability has caused me serious stress, both emotionally and financially. Avoid using this ATM, and honestly, think twice about banking with Capital One. They’ve made a terrible situation even worse.
